On My Propaganda: Why You Need To Read DEBUT OR DIE

It's a transmigration story taken place in modern world, specifically idol world. The author has done lots of research, with how realistic the setting is, whether it's within a company that sees its employees as objects or within the fandom, with how scathing, brutal, utterly familiar comments from antis.

The MC, Park Moondae, is utterly loveable. In a sense, he is similar to Cale Henituse. He is intelligent, cool, calm, decisive and collected. He is also like a father , or brother figure, protective and caring of his teammates despite initially wanting to distance from them, thinking them troublesome, etc. He also has a puppy nickname (from fans). He is also an orphan who has to grow up too fast and think people around him don't care for him.

FOUND FAMILY: his whole teammates LOVES and WORRIES about him. They are very sweet and funny but because there are 6 of them (7 if you count MC) it can take a while to remember the names.

There is more to see regarding the body where MC transmigrated into.

Pretty boys. Enough said.

There is a manhwa adaptation on Tapas but it's ongoing. I think it's about to be on 2nd arc(?). Not sure but the art is beautiful and do justice to the novel in my opinion.

Thinking about a debut or die au where Cheongryeo finds Gunwoo in every life. Sometimes they’re friends, sometimes they’re lovers, sometimes Gunwoo is just another face in the crowd who takes pictures of him. Whether he gets to know Gunwoo or not in a particular life is irrelevant, his presence alone is an anchor.

Then one day Gunwoo isn’t there. Maybe it’s a performance that Gunwoo never misses or an event that he’s always at. Where his presence is soothing, a balm to Cheongryeo’s worsening insanity, his absence is gut churning.

At first it’s not that bad. Cheongryeo can rationalize it away as ‘I did something different that caused him not to make it.’ It’s not as if Cheongryeo won’t be able to see him next time.

And then he doesn’t see him at all.

Cheongryeo searches of course. He looks up his name and gun123 and even tries to call him. The only hint that he can find of Gunwoo are his fancams. It’s like looking for a ghost.

But he continues on. He completes mission after mission. He thinks, maybe, that Gunwoo is just another thing he has to lose in order to finally finish. And he finishes. But he finishes alone. There is no going back. There is no restarting his career to reach further heights. There is no Ryu Gunwoo.

Then he meets Park Moondae. And maybe he can do it all one more time.

I was craving for some angst (blood) and skipped chapters, and *spoilers*

Context, from chapter 177 to 179, Moondae was kidnapped and tortured by Cheongryeo. However, as Moondae said, he was basically winning in trying to subdue him. In fact, most of his injuries came from trying to stop Cheongryeo 🤣

The screenshot above is when, in chapter 180, Seon Ahyeon saw Moondae's message about being attacked by a stalker, cancelled his trip, and the whole Seon family went to check up on Moondae 🥰💕 Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Moondae, our Moonpuppy, you're so loved!!!

Enchanted au where Seon Ahyeon is a Disney prince who falls into this world and comes across a jaded Ryu gunwoo.

Imagine little og park moondae as his adopted kid/little brother

And prince charming Lee Sejin and noble hunter Chungwoo come to find ahyeon

And of course cheongryeo is the fairy trying to kill everyone

Maybe my favorite part about Cheongryeo as a part-time antagonist is that he clearly genuinely likes Park Moondae/Ryu Gunwoo outside of his general obsession with him as someone who knows what he's been going through. It's interesting to have a character who does messed up shit not because he hates the main character or wants to see him fail, but because he wants to challenge him to do better. Except he's also got his brain thoroughly scrambled by regressing who knows how many times and so his 'help' comes with a huge chance of coming closer to sabotage.

oops spoilers: omg i love the foreshadowing in soheun-nim's moondae chibi art and how the background is also a bunch of status windows (could be reference to keundal?) and the breaking of the background (like debut or die season 2 cover art of Moondae breaking the status window) could be a foreshadowing in novel part 2 or how Moondae's potential is infinite therefore cannot be measured/contained

They actually drew Gunwoo art on his birthday but unfortunately it wasn't for an official birthday post

Started reading Debut or Die this week and oh i am obsessed

Imagine if Ryu Gunwoo died and transmigrated to his alternative self, who is younger than his current age. He still got himself the Debut or Die system but now, he only had to debut as himself.

Of course, he met original Park Moondae who is a year younger than him of this world and of course our tsundere tibetan fox  comforts the depressed younger boy and DING-
