Cheongryeo Thoughts:

I suddenly understood the sequence of how he got so fucked up under the system's influence, and it's depressing. (Spoilers below)

The reason why he's so suicidal is easy really. Without a status window, he literally didn't know Anything about his missions, and his only clue is when he fucking fails. And what happens when you fail a mission? *points at what happened to moondae*

So, imagine you try your best at being an idol, but it isn't going well. Suddenly you're overwhelmed by anxiety and have a panic attack, then shortly after a natural disaster/accident kills you. Do you understand how fucking traumatizing that is? I know for some regressions it isn't immediate, so it would be fucking agonizing. And it happens Multiple. Times. He regressed a total of 101 times. How many times were from a mission failure? And he knows what happens when you try to escape death too. So what else is he supposed to do? He can't escape death nor could he escape the loop. Simple solution, he just commits suicide when something goes wrong. That way there's no pain, no anxiety, no unknowns. Over time this corrupted him. He regresses at every little failure. Everything in his life became focused on being the perfect idol. The perfect career. There must be no mishaps. Troublesome things must be dealt with. Human lives become as flimsy as paper in the path to success. He truly became The embodiment of an idol. Always regressing for that one perfect idol career.

But he's human. He loves dogs. He likes being an idol. And it's the reminder that he's human that gets him out of the loop. Moondae (gunwoo) corrects his mentality in the 100th round. That he was right (and wrong) about Ju Dan. That he can have people that believe him and help him. That sometimes having a rival is what makes you grow, instead of nipping them in the bud. That he can raise a dog again and not worry about mixing up their name or breed. That there is a life without status abnormality. And so Shin Jaehyun overcame the status abnormality in the 101st round.

Edit: Turns out 101 wasn't the end, but his experiences in 100th round allow his subconscious to slowly find a way to finish all his missions. Which does make cheongryeo even more tragic, sadly.
