Last drawing of the day! On this occasion I show xabier's sister and brothers!
Deborah McLaren or simply Debbie is Xavier's older sister and his biggest frenemy. Although they love each other very much, they also do not miss the opportunity to annoy each other, especially by making merciless pranks😅
Debbie works with her mother in a punk bar and in her free time she spends her time riding her motorcycle or going to some illegal race, she is like an adrenaline hunter.
She is a tough and temperamental woman who does not respect authority figures too much, she is a brash and direct person, she is impulsive and characterized by her impatience since she can become reckless when she gets angry.
Despite this, Debbie is also a very outgoing and energetic party animal who, when confident, can show a lively attitude that maintains a happy atmosphere around her.
She has a kind of philosophy similar to this phrase:
“Life is not a waste of time, time is not a waste of life. So let's stop wasting time, get wasted and have the time of our lives” is a quote by Pitbull.
We also have Joey, Xabier's youngest brother and who he usually bothers from time to time (with obvious love), he is a teenager who loves comics who wants to draw his own one day and be a great comic book author ( In fact he draws very well!)
Joey is not very intelligent in the academic field but he makes up for it with a lot of creativity and a positive attitude, for him there is no problem that does not have a solution even if it is not logical.
Even though they often fight, Joey admires Xabier a lot and is always the first person he tells everything to because he knows that he won't tell anyone unless he asks.
And finally we have Glenn, Joey's older brother and the middle son.
Glenn, unlike Joey, excels in academic intelligence and is the one who has a brighter future, but he also has terrible social skills.
Glenn is a pretentious teenager who has a big ego due to his intelligence and praise from teachers (in other words he is a teachers' pet), but this makes him a lonely boy who does not have many friends due to his own egocentrism.
Glenn is not very close to Xabier but he goes with him and Debbie when he feels lonely, and they try to help him improve his social skills so that he doesn't spend his entire high school years alone with hardly any friends.
They are a strange but happy and very punk family🤘

Early punk scenester Debbie Juvenile, assistant at Malcolm McLaren & Vivienne Westwood’s Kings Road shop and member of the Pistols entourage known as the Bromley Contingent, here in a promotional T-shirt made for PiL's debut UK gigs at Rainbow Theatre in London on December 1978 and probably the most anticipated event of that year.
Legend has it that those couple of gigs had everything one might expect from a chistmas gig back in the day: scuffles between punks and skins, punches and verbal abuse, Lydon offending anyone who asked for Pistols songs and PiL's post punk Big Bang.
According PiL's fan site Foddestompf: "...Back in 1978 it was almost unheard for a band to play on Christmas Day. PiL's overheads are huge, but "what else you gonna do on Christmas Day?" They try to make the show's as much value for money as possible and include a selection of support bands: including a pre-Dennis Morris Basement 5, French all-girl group The Lous (who they met at the Paris show), and poet Linton Kwesi Johnston; who performs over a backing tape. Don Letts also DJ's..."
If you wanna read some rave reviews about those gigs head over to https://www.fodderstompf.com/GIG%20LIST/xmas78.html
No bootleg recordings of the first gig have ever surfaced but it seems that a christmas miracle took place on the second day when someone brought a tape recorder with them, so we have audio of the event: astonishing sound, bass & drum power, groovy guitar, an amazing rendition of "Theme" and the birth of a new universe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOhwnYNt6Co

Gerty Bunny
Gerty Bunny é inspirado no austríaco Gerhard Berger.
Debby Batty
Barry Rebato
Edo Irvan
Edo Irvan, o galo, é inspirado no norte-irlandês Eddie Irvine.

Oscar was grateful when the two of you were alone and he stared back at you, listening to every word that you said. The panic was obvious on his face as he heard you tell him that you didn’t know if the three of you could be more than just sex. He knew he had royally fucked up this weekend by being condescending and pushy towards Charles. He was falling in love with you and he didn’t want to only have a physical connection with you. He lived for your inside jokes and the secret language the two of you spoke. It didn’t have anything to do with excluding Charles, either. He loved it because he finally found someone who understood him and he couldn’t lose that connection. “I am really sorry.. You are right. I was a total dick. I know there is no excuse for my behavior but I lashed out because I hated to see you so down and unwell. Please just give me - us - another chance and we will make it right. I know we can get all on the same page and make this work. The one thing Charles and I agree on is that we are crazy about you.” He stared back at you, hoping you would give them another chance. The last thing he wanted was to lose you.
“And that’s the problem, Oscar... you two only agree on me. I thought I’d be okay with just having two boyfriends, or whatever we are since no labels have been used yet which is fine... but seeing Lando and Katie and Max thriving and having such a good time together made me realize I don’t want to be with two guys who only have me in common.” I point over to where the 3 of them were, all standing by the bar and laughing and conversing together, Katie’s attention was on both of them and neither of them were trying to pull her away from the other. “I want group vacations and group dates and group outings... you know, where we all have a conversation at the same time and it doesn’t consist of me trying to give you both equal attention. It was fun for a threesome, but I want what they have and you two aren’t friends and neither of you are trying to be...” I reach out and rub his cheek affectionately, not able to be as mean to him as I wanted to be. “I appreciate your apology, baby, I really do... I just need to think about stuff.” I stand up, getting ready to walk away. For once, they needed to fight for me and not with one another. “I’m gonna go get that drink from Pierre...”
__
I smile softly at Lando when he said that the McLaren boys had a way of sneaking into your heart and I nodded at him, placing my hands on either side of his face. “They do,” I say with a dreamy sigh, trying to tell Lando how I felt without outright telling him. It was still all new to me. I fell so hard and so fast for you, which was surprising enough when I was ready to all but give up on love. And now I was falling in love with one of your closest friends too. I never wanted Lando to feel like he was an afterthought to me, wanting him to know he was way more than just sex to me. Coming here alone was one way I was trying to show him how he was a priority to me too. “Of course, babe. I had to come here and wish my special guy luck. I am always rooting for you too, you know,” I say. I heard shuffling behind us, glancing over my shoulder and realizing all the action would block out anyone seeing us so I took advantage of the opportunity, leaning in to kiss him, it being more than just a sweet peck before finally pulling away as I heard Oscar whistling.
Lando definitely felt special that you were here at McLaren hospitality, knowing that normally you spent most races over at Red Bull, but he also couldn’t help but feel that you were only here because Max wasn’t in competition for the constructors. He had already won the WDC, so therefore your support could be elsewhere. He was trying not to be a Debbie downer, he was truly happy you were here, but he always felt outshined by Max which was totally fair - he was your boyfriend, Lando was just your... something. Lando was surprised when you kissed him, it not usually being something the two of you did outside the privacy of your homes or Max’s jet, immediately kissing you back and pulling you closer by your hips, flipping Oscar off before you pulled away from the kiss. “I’ve never had a pre-race kiss before... now I definitely feel like we’ll kick Ferrari’s ass.”

Debbie Harry.
Debbie Harry became an inspiration for women when she formed her music band ‘blondie’ in 1975. She broke down musical barriers by blending new wave with punk with pop with disco, made friends with Andy Warhol and was painted by him, bought Jean-Michel Basquiat’s first sale of a painting for US$300 (£250), acted in John Waters’ Hairspray, and released the first song that featured a rap verse (which she rapped) to reach number one in the Billboard charts, Rapture. However her influence wasn’t just limited to the 70’s but spread over decades.
Studio 54.
Studio 54 was more than a celebrity hotspot and beacon of New York nightlife. From the moment it opened its doors in 1977, the era-defining club was, “a sociological phenomenon and a historical event.” says writer Bob Colacello in Rizzoli’s Studio 54. Studio 54 became globally renowned as a cultural institution for its lavish, over-the-top spectacles and sartorial displays. Its disco days, though, were short-lived and the club closed its doors in 1980.
Studio 54 encouraged dance wear style, wrap-around skirts, leotards tube-top, dresses and separates that moved with ease and were made in lurex, miliskin and spandex.
1977
Model Bianca Jagger, in an off-the-shoulder number, is seen riding a white horse at the entrance of the club.
Bob Mackie and Cher.
Bob Mackie was often called the ‘Sultan of sequins’, dressing Cher as well as other stars in body-baring glamorous costumes. Cher, remains an unequivocal fashion trailblazer. From flower child in Sonny and Cher to the beginning of her pioneering career as a style superstar during her partnership with Bob Mackie, Cher radically expressed female agency in the male-dominated music industry throughout the 1960s and 1970s, often in an ultra-feminine glitter-adorned, skin-bearing jumpsuit.
Punk Fashion.
Punk first emerged in the mid-1970s in London as an anarchic and aggressive movement. The clothes suited the lifestyle of those with limited cash due to unemployment and the general low-income school leavers or students often experience. Punks cut up old clothes from charity and thrift shops, destroyed the fabric, and refashioned outfits in a manner then thought of a crude construction technique, making garments designed to attract attention.
Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened the infamous shop SEX, mixing X-rated silk screen, bondage gear, vinyl, rubber and safety pins with iconic English fashion.
Zandra Rhodes.
Zandra became the first couture designer to put punk on the runway. She first came to fame in the 1970s, and Princess Diana and Freddie Mercury both wore her designs, which are inspired by many different countries and classically feature intricate prints on flowing garments.

SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN Birmingham Hippodrome, Tuesday 7th June 2022 I maintain that the 1952 Gene Kelly-Debbie Reynolds film is a pinnacle of cinematic endeavour, so any stage production seeking to emulate this piece of perfection has an impossible task ahead. This large-scale touring production originating from Chichester Festival Theatre comes pretty close! A spoof of the advent of ‘talking…

What Is Cyberpunk?
The Roots of Cyberpunk
The real beginning of punk high fashion and bringing the culture more mainstream started from Vivienne Westwood and Malcom Mclaren’s London shop SEX in 1971, culturacolectiva.com writes ‘ The couple’s radical political views led them to generate an alternative style in fashion as a way to go against the establishment. They incorporated the biker look to their clothing line, with lots of leather and zippers. This became an emblem of punk best exemplified by Sid Vicious’ outfits.’ However the real starting of Cyberpunk was from designer Stephen Sprouse and his 1992 collection, which was even before the internet. His collection has major Punk influences, but tied in more futuristic elements, with graffiti style cut out dresses and bold vibrant colours. the latimes.com writes ‘Sprouse unleased and underground sensibility that married punk, rock n roll and pop art clothing with Patricia Field adding’ he was cross between optimism and punk rock’. He never strayed from his influences and made it clear of his influences in the music such as Debbie harry or Andy Warhol. WGSN writes ‘ the idea of punk rebelliousness has never waned and all of its visual stylistic cues continue to be reused and reinvented’.
-Stephen Sprouse 1992
Another big name in in Cyberpunk is punk rock artist Billy Idol. In 1993 he brought out his concept album naming it Cyberpunk, it was influenced by his own interest in technology and the start of him starting to experiment with using computers to make his music. With him already being an established artist in the punk rock world, him leaning more into futuristic aspects and the mix of both was a very bold but popular move at the time. The article How to be Cyberpunk on vice.com writes ‘something broke in the mix of drugs and sex and leather-clad hacking. In the slippage from underground Billy Idol, from subculture to fashion, form present to future the movement evaporated or maybe just evolved’.
Gareth Branwyn wrote the ‘Cyberpunk manifesto’, within it was views that link to the Punk mentality we all know mixed in with newer views as well, for example you can see the Punk influences from ‘mistrust authority’ and ‘do it yourself and fight the power’, with newer technological views ‘information wants to be free’, ’access to computers and anything which may teach you something about how the world works should be unlimited and total’. The new cyber twist on it, including online presence shows a more optimistic look of the world moving on, becoming more present. Linking back into Patricia Fields point, vice.com also says something along the same lines that ‘For all of its gloom, cyberpunk contains a muted optimism too, a utopian idea that ruins and scaffolding are the perfect materials for a new system. “Science fiction is liberation," wrote Robert Anton Wilson in his introduction to the 1989 Semiotext(e) SF issue (he described himself as “ever eager for new dimensions of insanity")’.
Cyberpunk in present
WGSN writes ‘placed in a digital context, those tropes can take on a futuristic dystopian aura that examines some of the darker aspects of technology while incorporating #softmasculinity sentiments associated with todays TikTok influencer e-boy culture’. With lockdown across the country and TikTok blowing up during it, there was what some would call an alt wave, where more and more young people were experimenting with their styles, especially with more alternative looks. During this time a group of teens blew up on the app calling their style e-boy or e-girls, which stands for electric boy/electric girl. This style was grunge inspired look mixed with newer technology aspects, some of these outfits being very closely linked with softer Cyberpunk looks. Again it became popular to mix an older subculture with a newer style. Cyberpunk isn’t the only style that has been influenced by the new cyber world, there were also Cybergoth that got traction in the 2010′s.

Vacant A Diary of the Punk Years 1976-1979
Nils Stevenson, photographs by Ray Stevenson
Thames & Hudson , London 1999, 128 pages, paperback
euro 30,00
email if you want to buy :[email protected]
Punk was born in the World's End, King's Road, London. Nils and Ray Stevenson were present from the very beginning of the movement. Ray's photographs and Nils's candid 1976-1979 diaries seek to recreate punk's first flurry and chaotic growth. The book looks at the instigators: Malcolm McClaren and Vivienne Westwood; Sue Catwomen; and Jordan. It follows the Sex Pistols on their UK tour and Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Stranglers, The Clash and X-Ray Specs as they set out to annihilate the tedium of the 1970s scene.

NEW YORK DOLLS. PHOTOGRAPHS BY BOB GRUEN
This book originally came out in 2008. It’s a decent size hardback book featuring tons of photos BG took of the Dolls from when they were just starting out through to their split. It’s a mix of colour + black & white photos - some studio shots, some more informal backstage shots + some shots of them live in concert. It also features loads of quotes from the band + those who worked with + knew them (such as Debbie Harry + Malcolm McLaren). It also has an introduction by Lenny Kaye + an afterword from Morrissey (who got the band to reunite for his Meltdown festival). Plus Lenny Kaye interviews the two surviving original members, David Johansen + Sylvain Sylvain. It’s a great book for any Dolls fan + I love the cover -bright pink satin w/inlaid silver writing. (Incidentally the book also features several photos of Sabel Starr w/Johnny Thunders).

Punk is more than a sound
Punk is more than just a sound, it’s a whole way of being, and rock’s new rebels preferred lived-in T-shirts and Levi’s.
Loud, fast, and simple, punk rescued rock‘n’roll from suffocating on its own excesses, giving the genre a razor-blade edge it hadn’t had since its earliest days. The rebellious spirit and willingness to question traditional conventions—like the idea that you had to know how to play an instrument before you could start a band—would find their way into nearly every meaningful musical revolution that followed, from hip-hop to indie rock to techno.
Music’s only ever been just one facet of punk’s identity, though. It’s more than just a sound, it’s a whole way of being—a philosophy, an attitude, and, crucially, a look.
Punk’s sonic foundations were laid down in New York City by the same people who established the beginnings of punk style: artists like Lou Reed, the Ramones, Suicide, and the New York Dolls who wanted to strip away the bloat rock had accumulated in the psychedelic era and return it to something purer. While Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones matched their arena-filling ambitions with equally elaborate costumes of velvet and sequins, rock’s new rebels preferred lived-in T-shirts and Levi’s.
“We came out of the glam scene,” says photographer Paul Zone, author of Playground: Growing Up in the New York Underground. “So by the time ’74 came around and glam was winding down, probably 50 percent of the people in that scene were involved in what would come to be known as the punk scene. It was just that our flamboyance got a little more played down.”
“There was still fashion going on,” Zone adds. “They’d go to the thrift shops, where you could find vintage clothes. Black Levi’s jeans became a staple for everyone who was there. When it comes to Levi’s and jeans, they were being used in a lot of different ways. In the glam days, the Dolls were wearing little boys’ Levi’s jackets that where so small that they could hardly get their arms in them.”
In the mid-1970s, the new New York sound and style came into focus through the Ramones (who created a uniform of shredded Levi’s 505 jeans and black leather jackets), Television(whose guitarist Richard Hell was one of the first performers to rock spiked hair and torn T-shirts held together by safety pins), and Blondie (fronted by Debbie Harry, who pioneered high-low mixes of Levi’s and designer pieces), and other groups that orbited divey clubs like CBGB. “They had no money,” photographer Jenny Lens recalls. “The holes in Joey’s knees were from wear and tear. They were not fashion. I have photos of Dee Dee Ramone wearing a leather jacket, and around the wrists it’s really frayed. It was shameful back then to run around with holes in your jeans, and the Ramones said f—k that, that’s who we are!”

By the time people started calling it punk, the revolution had already started to spread around the globe. Malcolm McLaren managed the New York Dolls before returning to London where he and partner Vivienne Westwood operated a boutique called Sex. Inspired by what he saw in New York, he combined the Dolls’ over-the-top outrageousness with Richard Hell’s deconstructed style to create a quintessentially British spin on punk fashion and tapped his new clients, the Sex Pistols, to promote it.
“McLaren went back to England and emulated the look and gave it a little more pizzazz with hair colour and putting more fashion into it,” Zone explains. At the same time, other London punks like X-Ray Spex—fronted by Poly Styrene—seized upon the movement’s DIY philosophy and started using staple items like jeans and leather jackets as blank canvases to decorate with pins, paint, and spikes.
At nearly the same time as it crossed the ocean to the UK, punk spread to L.A., where fans of the Ramones and Blondie adapted their distinctive looks to fit the city’s unique identity. “What we were doing in L.A. had to do with a lot of factors,” Lens says. “One was the weather. We could have a lot of thrift stores and a lot of yard sales, church bazaars. We don't have the rain and snow and cold that you have in London or New York. We were very into that DIY thing. You could repurpose [clothes], you could cut them up and do things with them. We’d rarely wear the same thing twice.”
L.A.’s bands were diverse, from pop-friendly acts like the Go-Go’s to the defiantly anti-commercial approach of the Germs, to bands like the legendary X who sat somewhere in between, but they were united by the bonds of their tight-knit community. “The fashion was very organic,” Lens says. “There were no paid stylists. We were stylists for each other. Everybody was going to thrift stores together, going to bazaars together, sharing each other’s clothes. It really came out of dressing up every day and expressing yourself and being an artist. You could be an artist who expressed themselves visually from head to toe and also on stage. Or not—you could be a photographer or a graphic artist or a fan or whatever.”
The L.A. style comes through in one of Lens’s favourite photos of the time, where X singer Exene Cervenka and scenester Pleasant Gehman pose in a shower at a loft where the pioneering fanzine Slash was throwing a party for Devo. “Pleasant had bleached her jeans and written ‘Slash’ for Slash magazine,” she explains. “Nobody had bleached jeans then. We did a lot of things that other people weren’t doing.”
Forty years after punk started, the music continues to reverberate, not only in the punk scenes that have popped up in cities and small towns around the world, but in the indie and alternative movements that punk inspired. In fashion, its influence has spread even further. You can see some of X’s rootsy simplicity in the indie rock uniform of jeans and T-shirts, and the continuing influence of McLaren and Westwood’s vision in the complexly customised jackets that have become de rigueur for rap stars. Punk style’s most enduring legacy can’t be boiled down to a particular item of clothing, or even the popularity of distressed jeans and dyed hair. It’s more about the idea of being authentic, that if you do your own thing and dress your own way, you can make the world change around you. “We would take what we would see in fashion and make it our own, where other people would take what’s in fashion and just run with it,” Lens says. “We influenced fashion more than the other way around.”
