#charcuterie saga #The original version of this was a watercolour but unfortunately I left it behind while travelling...#Along with some of my comic pages and my scripting notes (that's why I have yet to post more pd-mdzs...I funked it up big time)#This board was made on Dec 30th and I am very thankful to the people who helped donate various components to make it possible.#I took a few variations on the composition and while this one has some flaws - I think it has the most personality!#True Charcuterie fans will look at my choices and weep but I never promised good charcuterie!!! I promised accuracy to the poll!#Some elements stand in as 'double counting' in categories. Which was a survival technique for me.#I had to learn a lot of new things to make this possible! My skills like in making the physical wooden board - not the arrangement of food!#Rosemary was hotly debated as I personally do think it counts as edible (so not a valid pick for 'decoration').#I also thought tomato sauce could count as a fruit and spread.#My cursed hand has fingerprints in other parts of this tragedy. Beware looking too closely.#Of course there is a version of reality in which I have the disposable income to buy 20+ different kinds of cheese and-#-make this baby absolutely massive. I'm really of two minds on the whole Hydaelyn vs Etheirys debate. On the one hand it does feel wierd to just change the name everyone knows the planet by just because that's what some ancient civilization called it, but on the other hand (and I'm pretty sure this is why they introduced Etheirys in the first place) it is a bit annoying/confusing sometimes to have a major character have the same name as the planet, but on the third, and certainly most important, hand it must piss Emet-Selch off so much that it's called Hydaelyn and we should keep doing it forever

honestly one of the funniest and most charming things about eiffel is how normal his opinions are. his big star wars rants are "han shot first" and how much he hates the prequels + digital remasters. most of his favorite movies and bands are exactly what you'd expect for his demographic. he's a "controversial opinion: pineapple goes on pizza" dating app guy and he takes that seriously. you could set him loose in any store full of nostalgia bait guy memorabilia - a real old-playboy-magazines-and-license-plates type of place - and he'd lose his mind.

i mildly dislike xmas but funnily enough not because of the usual reasons (religion, etc) but because it indirectly emphasizes poverty so much. can i please not hear about my friends' new consoles, cars, PCs, etc for one year. please.

#i feel like im going to strangle someone sometimes. you get a car you get a years' rent for a house you get a pc #while im struggling to pay for a wheelchair so i can move without being in agony. im debating if it's worth it ruining my life for years #with debt to have the ability to Move again and you're getting gifts worth more than half the used wheelchairs im looking at #i can be a bit salty. we haven't had gifts for anyone but my baby cousin since I understood the concept of poverty enough that my family #could explain why i dont get a gift that year. on my 16th driving lessons Were the gift.#people shit on chanukah because theyre antisemites and weird but. chanukah is about food and celebration and doesnt do this shit #idk. im just a bit upset. im gonna get dragged out to poland again in january and I don't wanna go without a chair because lodzi is huge #and my grandma sucks and i was hoping i'd get a chair by then and. im going to hang istg bro #delete later #< for the tags. the post can stay

A couple of weeks ago I had an argument with one of my friends as to whether or not a blueberry is blue or purple (dw we were doing it just for fun [it was actually quite silly]) and I had just remembered the argument today. So you know what I did? I grabbed an image of blueberries and color picked them on Photoshop. Now, since it's late rn, I'm gonna tell them tomorrow. I'll update ya'll on what happens tomorrow.

Being as: 1) I have an additional story (perhaps two) that I want very much to blast to Sparksblr but cannot —not soon, perhaps not ever— for ~*reasons*~ 1a) They’re good/positive reasons, just reasons. 2) I have been typing one of the above stories out for my own memory’s sake and the recall makes me something like giddy, but 3) No one IRL would be quite as excited to read about the minute details and/or have the stomach for my editorial asides as much as other fans, so 3) This non-story relieves some of the pressure so I don’t have to hold it all in. 4) I am wondering if I am the Spiders Georg of unintentional Ron Mael encounters— the outlier who skews the median* significantly. 4a) *Not counting anyone in a retail/foodservice/customer service position in places he may frequent 5) Between the untold story and the one with The Thing, I'm beginning to understand why people never figured out that Bruce Wayne was Batman. I give you this:

Once I was at a party and ended up reaching for the last bagel at the same time as an older gentleman. He had dyed black hair and a strange little moustache. He insisted I take it. I —nearly six feet tall and of a thickness that would make R. Crumb quickly excuse himself from the room— insisted that he have it. My fat ass was not gonna take a bagel outta the mouth of this skinny old man. We both demurred a couple more times before I declare that I had just washed my hands, grab a plastic knife, and start sawing the bagel in half. I assure the guy I work in foodservice and wouldn’t have touched anything without clean hands. Once I had successfully sawn through it, I offered him his choice of half. He took the less-handled side. We chatted a little as we dressed our halves, then went our separate ways.

I am now pondering how often I may have run into this man over the years. (It's a minimum of 4 so far- which isn't necessarily a lot but it's kind of a lot? We might have had the same Trader Joe's for a while.) Perhaps it’s only sheer distance that assures me he’s not behind me as I type.

#yellowart #subnautica #i feel like the timelapse is kinda long but also this did take a long time to make #anyways. let me yap about the meanings of all the panels <3 #'i am creation' -> the ocean being the source of life and where shit evolved from also a good way to sort of 'set the scene' for subnautica #'both haunted' -> GHOST leviathan; in the BONE fields #'and holy' -> this one was a bit trickier. debated about using the emperor but i knew i wanted to use her elsewhere #also debated hoverfish because its cute and well liked so i thought that would be funny for 'and holy'#also something something jesus walking on water also makes it fitting. in the end though i decided on a peeper with the enzyme trail #and i *tried* to make it loop over its head like a halo but idk how well that imagery came through. still mentioned it in the alt text tho.#'made in glory' -> was REALLY torn about this one. on the one hand i wanted to have like a picture of the code because something something #divine machine and it being made out of code making it inherently holy or something; but i wasnt sure if that would be too #'immersion breaking' since most of the stuff in this is like in game stuff i wasnt sure if acknowledging that it was a game would be #too much. my other idea was to draw a couple of creature eggs like a stalker egg and a spadefish egg or something; but in the end i just #went with the one that i personally thought was cooler so if you think it does feel out of place uhhhh sorry i guess lmao.#also yes that is code from the game. idk shit about programming i just think code shit is cool so i poked though a modding tutorial til i #found what it is they use to look at that shit and started poking around. its pretty cool tbh. anyways the specific part i chose for the #drawing was something under the peepers; i think its the bit that tells the enzyme peepers to do the enzyme stuff like the trail obviously #but also some other stuff. not 100% sure though like i said idk shit about this sort of thing but everything in there seems pretty well #labeled its kinda impressive. and very helpful for navigating even if you dont know shit lol.#anyways. 'even the depths of the night cannot blind me' -> blood kelp trench is i think one of the darkest biomes in the game #possibly THE darkest so i thought it would be fitting. probably my least favorite panel though i dont think i did a very good job #representing the area or representing the bloodvines :/#'when you guide me' -> sea emperor but more specifically her messages to the player telling you to 'come here'#'creature only' -> not sure how well i can articulate this but basically the idea of humans beig animals with animal needs to eat and drink #and the idea of being a part of the ecosystem. modern life tends to make us forget that sort of thing but id imagine for ryley being on the #planet would violently remind him of this with things trying to eat him while he has to try to eat things as well. being part of the food #web. 'creature only' because he is only a creature not non-essential systems maintenance chief; but a creature living in an environment and #trying to survive. or something like that. does that make any fucking sense to anyone besides me? whatever.#anyways yapping over 👍

Holy shit this took me far longer than I ever anticipated, but it’s done!! 🥹

@semianonymity this is for your wonderful, wonderful Toriko fanfic Anoint Your Wings With Love, which I’ve read at least 10 times??

It’s an absolutely wonderful read, and y’all should read it too!! I think most of your fanfics I’ve read make me cry to some degree, but that’s only bc they’re so damn good with expressing emotion and heartache and pain and love god the LOVE.

Small vent on art burnout under cut.

Sadly, I was really burnt out while trying to make this, with the research on feather placement and shape and how to match the size to the person, not to mention the colors alone. AND THE SIZE REFERENCES! Life also wasn’t being friendly with me at that point… I could go on as to how perfectionist I was trying to get this done while also having fun with the process, but I think this was just too big a project for me at that time.

I kinda started to slip with the colors and background, and I couldn’t bring myself to add any shading (still can’t!), even tho I LOVE shading! I even forgot Zebra’s scars and nipples!! Can you imagine that, some of the main details for one of the main characters, not to mention the tiddies not having their little buttons, and you just straight forget they exist??

At the end, I do love the final product but I know I can do much, much better. With anatomy, detailing, shading, background creating, etc etc.

Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy this addition to the Bin, and I’ll probably take a short break from large digital art projects for a bit. I’ll still doodle, and might post those instead just for shits and giggles, but as for fanart of amazing works of fanfiction and shows and games and such? I’ll have to take a back seat for a bit.
