No but seriously she totally is? Subconsciously there's a space for him in her life always. I know I keep saying this, but she totally has feelings for him, buried inside her. What those feelings actually are is something she has to figure out. (She started that journey in BJBJ; she even got to face him and banish him and all. Did that manage whatever feelings she has for him though? Nope).

She's sleeping alone and yet she's leaving all that space next to her like she's sleeping with a spouse. The visual storytelling here implies she's longing for someone to take that space.

And who else is she longing for if not Betelgeuse? It's not Richard, hello. Ok it's past midnight and I'm exhausted so maybe I'm reaching. But this makes sense to me rn so I'm posting.

the way sam literally had to consent to gadreel possessing him or else it literally does not work. dean cannot and did not give that consent for sam. it's not dean's fault gadreel tricks sam by using dean's likeness in sam's mind to get that consent. and dean asked for gadreel's help in the first place because he thought he was ezekiel and cas had vouched for ezekiel that he was trustworthy. so while sam is totally allowed and valid for feeling upset abt the situation, dumping that blame on dean is pretty unfair since 1.) it was a no win situation and literally in-universe it is equated to a family member signing off on a medical procedure when they are unconscious (however, it deviates from that analogy in the fact that this is a supernatural fantasy show so sam actually does get to consent to this possession in his mind) and 2.) dean hated the situation from the get-go, and was forced into a hostage situation where he could not even tell sam what was going on lest he risk sam dying.

who should sam be angry with? because i do think sam should get to feel how he feels!! but i also do think he is directing it wholly at the wrong person and is being a bit unfair. so who should he be directing his upset feelings toward? maybe the angel that tricked him into giving consent and then proceeded to keep him and dean in a hostage situation, dangling sam's life in the balance for ransom.

not trying to discourse and people can ultimately feel how they want, we're all just playing in this sandbox, but i do think sam is misplacing some of his feelings. and of course dean accepts the blame sam puts on him because that's just how dean is but, just because sam feels that way toward dean and dean takes it doesn't mean that that's like, what actually happened. they were both tricked by 'ezekiel' gadreel !! and it fucking sucks !!

Sometimes I just can’t with the amount of miscommunication between them yk. There’s so much hurt and insecurity just because they wouldn’t say stuff. Ever.

Like when they gave Cas a room in the bunker. There was no ceremony to it, just like look we got a bunch of rooms ofc you can have one. For them, it was just the natural thing to do. Because it’s Cas.

But it’s actually so much more than that? The bunker is the very first permanent home they’ve known in forever, it’s a grounding point, it’s comfort and it’s safety, and they wanted to share it with Cas. Because Cas is family.

And to Dean, Cas’ room is something that can be just Cas’, something of his own, a space that he can make home. It’s a room he gave Cas so he would know that he has somewhere to go, somewhere he could stay if he wants to. But he never stays, because he doesn’t want to.

And to Cas, the room is one of many spares that Dean didn’t have use for anyway, it’s where he’s allowed to go when they have no choice but to keep him around, where he’s allowed to stay for as long as he’s being useful. So he tries not to overstay his welcome.

Dean was screaming with that room. I want you here, please say you want to be here too.

All Cas heard was You’re tolerated, better keep being worthwile.

Dean would still hope deep deep deep down that Cas would come back because he always did. He came back once from the Empty maybe he can do it again.

"How far will you go You should know You'll be on my mind Said you were leavin' But never said when you'd be comin' back home and I can't wait another day"

But Dean would also miss him and feel miserable without him. He would feel empty and would no longer want to live.

"Ride with me Round the lakeside Got a raincoat and a veil It's been so long since you went away Took all of your lovin' and left me with nothin' and When you go What a shame"

And Dean would think that he deserved to lose Cas and that it was his fault the angel died. He would remember all those memories and wouldn't believe he didn't see Cas's love for him. He, who always thought his love was unrequited, would realize how wrong he was.

"Maybe I deserved it To be left this way I'm not sure How I was so blind"

Dean would want Cas's love back, would want Cas back. But if he comes back he might become insane from the fear to lose him again or simply because he will be consumed by this love or just that he would lose his mind if Cas had to keep his love for himself again (lots of possibilities for this one).

"All I know's that if you return it And kept it here to stay I'd lose my mind I'd lose my mind"

Despite the lack of will to live, despite thinking this is what he deserves, despite the fear, despite all that, he would try anything to get him back from the Empty. He would go to the end of the world for him.

It was between them and the family adventure park, and on Dean to convince the financer, Rich, to fund the money-sink of a blind horse rescue.

After a tour of the farm they clustered around the kitchen table. Dean paged through budgets, blueprints of new outbuildings, program plans for some small revenue. Cas' knee knocked against Dean's to stop it bouncing.

Rich sat back, looking around with long consideration, then pinned his eyes on Dean and Cas.

"You're together," he said. So flat and plain that Dean struggled to respond.

Rich took out his chequebook. "My Dave just loves horses."
