Time is racing forward fast.
Everything feels like it’s changing, how am I supposed to keep up- and stay sane while doing it -when by the time I’m comfortable there’s something entirely new to get used to.
Steve Rogers had to adapt to essentially a whole new world from when he left it. From the people, to laws, and even structures.
I doubt it ever felt normal to him yet he developed an understanding of it, but then something new would come along and he’d have to relearn the world all over again.
That situation is a lot different in the sense of extremity then I am trying to say but it made sense.
As someone who is learning from the world around me it’s rough when the people I care about are finding paths that don’t have enough room for me to follow.
They understand the world and are growing and changing with the times.
Yet I as time races forward I feel like it’s leaving me in the dust cause I can’t keep up.

There are plenty of stories about the groups people find when they’re lonely.
Like the lost boys from Peter Pan or the lost boys aka the vampire group.
These groups represent a group of people who were just like the people they want to lure in. Those who feel lonely and lost. Like they will never fit in or find a group of people who will stick but them.
But the lost boys? No matter what one you think of, they will always be at your side. They form a family, filled with those who feel like you do. Who need someone like you do.
With Peter Pan, they just want to never grow up and have to deal with the changes that come with growing up. They want to be a family forever, not for a lifetime.
With the vampires, from an outside view it’s because they are going to be together for an eternity but they just want a family. A permanent one.
Anyways this goes with my other post about a found family trope. These groups are so appealing because they chose you. They saw that you needed someone and they took it upon themselves to be those people.

Does anyone else love the found family trope?
The idea that these people, people who you care so much about and consider your closest people, choose to be your family not out of any obligation but because they choose you.
You never have to worry about why they are nice or supportive, you just know they chose to stick by your side.
As someone who constantly questions every single relationship I have, both platonic and romantic, knowing that someone chose me just cause they cared for me that much and not out of any compulsion or obligation then I’d feel better about being myself.
If anyone is struggling with the people you’re surrounded with right now, I hope you find your chosen family <3

Does anyone ever read fan fiction about a platonic relationship, specifically about one of your favorite characters being a brother figure?
Is it just because you’d want to have them as a brother?
Or is it because you don’t have a brother or just not one you is like the ones you can read about.
In most of them I see him as a protector, he’s comforting you in the dead of night and by your side the second you need help.
Maybe he’s a superhero choosing to save you before anyone.
Maybe he’s a usually harsh, grumpy man but only to everyone but you, his precious sibling.

I was his shoulder to cry on
His preserver in a unforgiving sea
But now that we’re done
I realize the trapped one was me

Isn’t it sad when you know that your favorite person has a favorite person that isn’t you? It can’t be helped but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt when you’d drop everything for them and they cancel your plans to go to their favorite person.
Or
When everyone you know has their person. Someone they would choose over anyone. But you don’t have anyone that would choose you and you don’t have anyone that doesn’t already have a person.
