caitlyn stans accusing ppl who don’t like or criticize caitlyn of failing high school english or being a misogynist has genuinely got to be one of the funniest and dumbest things i’ve ever seen.

I have a lot of wishes for the internet, but one of them definitely would be increased media literacy - or at least the ability to actually read/listen to what a post actually says before the brain works shut down.
I just got a prep kid radfem accusing me of pushing gender roles and stereotypes on a video where I expressly state that my gender identity doesn’t change and isn’t defined by how I dress or present. I’m sitting right now in a light flowery shirt and bright pink hot pants with free-hanging tits and I’m still a dude.
Is acknowledging that gender stereotypes exist pushing them? How exactly do you want to combat them if you won’t engage with them?
Obviously not confronting the kid because they’re a kid, but at some point you just want to bang your head against a wall and yell “you have a brain, use it! YOU CAN READ SO DO SO.”

i’m so disappointed in noah dear god. putting his stance on the conflict aside, why on earth is he making jokes about it??
‘zion!sm is sexy’ really?? really???
it doesn’t matter that he’s jewish, why is he making jokes about people being murdered? because that’s the reality, this is a war. people get murdered every day. in MASS numbers. making jokes about a literal genocide isn’t funny. it should not be posted with a laughter on social media.
another thing, putting around stickers like this as a white rich american is an incredibly privileged behaviour and i can’t believe he did it. he has a platform, has fans, many of them young and impressionable. making jokes about something that gets thousands of people killed weekly, especially from his stance of being nowhere near the danger of being killed in the middle of this war is just plain tone deaf.
i don’t know what i’ll do with this account, i might be less active and just take a break for a while because i’m just. i don’t know. i didn’t expect him to be this tone deaf. and i’m still hyperfixated on byler and stranger things so i don’t know. anyway war jokes aren’t funny and i can’t believe not everyone agrees.

i guess i have to say it a million times since people insist on being dense: gale is just as much of a victim as the other companions. this isn't the trauma olympics. everyone has been through shit and deserves healing and redemption.
gale is not the self entitled, manipulative abuser people are painting him as. he's a lot of things, but nothing so heinous. he was groomed by a goddess who has a history of preying on wizards that threaten her power, and as a result, gale's ambition and faith was what drove him to discover the netherese orb. what he did was for mystra - in his mind, it was to prove his love by restoring her missing power - and by extension for the betterment of mortals. his actions were never malicious or selfish, in fact he puts himself so low on the priority list it's pretty much non existent. he was never going to use that power to usurp her, but mystra definitely saw it like that, which is why she didn't hesitate to present suicide as his only solution. he never crossed her personal boundaries in the way people are twisting it, he only wanted to cross the boundaries she put on wizards and their power.
people who insist he's all of these things and more clearly only spoke to him once or lack the reading comprehension to see past how much of an unreliable narrator he is. i can understand first impressions might put some people off, but you can say the same about the other companion introductions. i don't like comparing but since people insist on doing it; gale is one of the easiest companions to get along with just by being a good person, yet his honesty and selflessness makes people think he's secretly evil? while the companions with the capacity to be evil don't even try to hide it? how are people being so backwards about this? it's genuinely baffling and tiring to see people continuously spit out incorrect takes all too confidently.
no one is forcing anyone to like him, but it's unfair to completely mischaracterize him because you refuse to learn critical thinking. i promise using your brain is not as scary as it seems, or you can just. not talk about things you don't understand.

I feel like there is a strong correlation to Frank Hubert’s initial subtext with Dune (its islamic religious themes, a premise setting an empire against local populaces, the attention towards ecological developments in desert environments with a bias towards temperate zones from outsiders wanting to “enrich” the land), and all of the recent developments in Gaza and its history, both with the original influences to Hubert’s novel and the timing of a blockbuster adaptation happening while international focus grows towards Palestine, that is going unmentioned outside of the usual jokes and memes

Hello! I love the way your blog hypes up posts and encourages people to create more; this is exactly what we need in this fandom. You have inspired me to express more of my excitement about the amazing things people share on here.
Wishing you a lovely day!
Aww you're so kind! I just can't resist celebrating those who put themselves out there! Just because (most of us) are adults doesn't mean we shouldn't feel good about being who we are. Kids get rewards like stickers, verbal praise, high fives, their drawings and creations hung around schools, their fridge at home, given as heartfelt gifts to family and friends; that end up kept for years like time capsules! We all should have such things our entire lives :)

If we ever get an HoO tv show, I would LOVE if they gave Jason albinism. It would just be great to have that representation, especially if it was done well.
It wouldn't need to be a big focus and honestly it would be kind of weird if it was, but just little things. He could wear protective glasses, and maybe have him shielding his eyes if there's a time they get knocked off or he has to remove them.

Knowing sign for diversity purposes in a superhero media is great and cool but it is also useful. Tired of there being moments where heroes are trying to be quiet and they whisper in media where they make a point to show they know sign.

As a young woman who is both deaf and an amputee, Alaqua Cox would seem to be an unlikely choice to star in a Marvel Cinematic Universe series. But she made a huge impression playing the role of Maya Lopez -- a.k.a. Echo -- on Hawkeye, and she was given a spinoff series, Echo. And her co-star on the show, Vincent D'Onofrio, said she's one of the most incredible actors he's ever worked with.
Echo is currently streaming on Disney+.
