Inktober Monsters Of Television Day 15: “Tale of the Dead Man’s Float” Today’s prompt was “legend”. In the early 90s Nickelodeon (hey, Nick two days in a row!) had a cool, creepy horror anthology show for kids called “Are You Afraid of the Dark.” A lot of the entires were kinda tame and then out of nowhere... there’s this: The Tale of the Dead Man’s Float. A story about a drowned vengeful spirit in a school swimming pool. The creature is a muddy, bloody red corpse set against the turquoise of the pool water. Not only was it a cool monster, it was also one of the scariest things on tv at the time. What was your favorite episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? I posted one like this before, but I did this one a little differently. The greens represent the beauty I see in this defeated, #abandonedplace (or at least I hope that they portray that).

I did 98% of my editing on this one while listening to the song “Dead Man’s Float” by #sagefrancis . So I have him to thank for the inspiration with the editing on this one.
