Okay, I’m just gonna come out and say it.“My Adventures with Superman” is my favorite modern-day incarnation of Superman and friends. They actually managed to modernize the setting and added a few tweaks to the characters (Lois is a short-haired tomboy, Clark is goofier and clutzier) while maintaining the core elements of why people love these characters (Lois being a fast-paced city girl who is always on the move, Clark being a goodie two-shoes Boy Scout from the country). They didn’t do the typical thing where modern is synonymous with darkness or deconstruction.

I had so much to say about Superman & Lois’s intense two-hour season premiere that I reviewed each episode individually.

“The End & the Beginning” takes an eerie and heartbreaking look at Lois and Lex’s longstanding and tense dynamic.

“A World Without” raises the bar for the final season. It turns the race for Superman’s heart into a horror movie.

That sequence where Lex forces Lois to pick Jon or Jordan? Truly stressful.

GUILTY AS CHARGED

Lois was propped up onto the countertop, as she pulled him by his collar. Their lips met urgently. She was playing wicked, her tongue sweeping teasingly over his lip as her fingers pulled at his locks and clawed at his back.

"You're- aware, that we are at work right?" Clark warned, but Lois wasn't listening anymore- it was quite reasonable considering the fact that she was preoccupied fumbling with the top button of his shirt

"Hm.." she murmured seductively against the skin of his neck. "I didn't see you complaining yesterday, Kent!"

Clark momentarily closed his eyes as the images of her joining him in the shower, clad in that flimsy towel, fogged his brain.

"Lois-" he nearly hissed out as she nipped on his earlobe.

"Yes?" she pulled back to stare at his face, arms wrapped around his neck, her leg sliding over his own and looking positively smug at catching him off guard.

He reached out to adjust a strand of loose hair behind her ear. Her eyes fluttered close as he leaned in close,. "You are not distracting me." he whispered

"Too late, babe." she shifted closer, her lips a hair's breadth away from his.

Clark decided some battles were worth losing.
