DC Super Hero Girls: Gotham Academy - Senior Year

Danica Dusepann, my oc! (DCSHG edition of her)(I might not ever introduce the original version of her)

-i cannot draw DCSHG's artstyle for shit so please bear with me

just like the other characters in the show she's also different from her original counterpart

she's a Violet Lantern, who goes by Sapphire Star (professionally) and Starlight Dancer (people's alias for her)

she's actually kind of a high-ranking star sapphire

she's kinda sleep-deprived due to her role, having droopy eyes (her eyelashes are meant to mimic the rays of a star) and slightly messy blonde hair

formerly wore long skirts

kind of insecure about her face

she's Hal's ex from years ago but she already comfortably moved on

was formerly a ballerina and cheerleader before the Star Sapphire job kinda took away her time for that

she went to the school in the first place because she was instructed to find Carol Ferris and take her ring away as punishment for the abuse of her power

she ofc joined the cheerleading squad for this purpose but she really got into it because she missed her time as a former cheerleader

I want to try fleshing out the Lantern Corps more with her and her love interest (the DCSHG version of Sorrow Lantern and yes now you know Danica's last name is a pun)

She became a Violet Lantern when she saved her family from the wreckage during a battle between Superman and one of his villains

She's supposed to focus on other forms of love like self-love and platonic love (yes she gains romantic love later but its only a PART of it)

kind of the therapist/mom friend and always supports her friends

Screentime:

she'd probably debut in a episode right after Carol's reveal as a Violet Lantern

Hal is convinced Danica entered the school just to get back with him (Jess is of course annoyed)

Hal repeatedly tries making moves on Danica but she just awkwardly tries to end the conversations quicker

Hal tells Jess all about Carol and Jess just decides to go ask her herself about why she moved schools

Danica's presented as the Betty to Carol's Veronica at first before it shows that she just really doesn't give a fuck about Hal

when Carol turns into Star Sapphire again suddenly there's this new superhero named Sapphire Star who goes and stops her

Carol: YOU COPIED ME! SS: huh

so Sapphire Star just gets Carol's ring "Carol Ferris, you have abused the power of the Violet Ring entrusted to you by our Corps. By the order of the Violet Lantern Corps, I hereby confiscate your ring forever."

Carol begs on her knees to Hal and Jess to help her get her ring back

and coincidentally Danica is planning on moving schools next week

Anyways the three of them look for clues until they find out Danica was Sapphire Star all along

and then fighting and shit

and then they try convincing Danica that Carol won't do it again and Danica hesitates

before saying "I have to take this up to the superiors before giving it to you again, I'm sorry"

and Danica disappears

this begins the start of Carol's redemption arc I guess

Danica reappears again when Carol is fully redeemed (not necessarily her personality more of her morality) and she gives Carol her ring back

Danica would have her own little arc of self-love and prioritizing herself

Letting others do the saving instead of constantly her

she reappears again as Sapphire Star when resident "golden boy" Nathan Broome reaches his breaking point when Carol breaks up with him for Hal, and the Sorrow Lantern ring infects him (I imagine it to be an entity of its own, feeding on hosts and stuff, but it deactivates and becomes a proper ring when the host is calmed down)

Sapphire Star and Sorrow Lantern start fighting until the stuff he vents out really hits Danica in the heart and she decides to share things about herself too

and then they just sit down and talk which really surprises the other Lanterns

this is where Danica's past is fully revealed and she just relates to Nathan's struggle of trying to keep up with expectations of being a good kid and trying not to just go batshit one day

they soon become friends and then become that "oh they're just a friend" couple which really pisses everyone off

they get together tho later

Got bored, drew a family tree for my favorite DC Super Hero Girls ship: June Moone/Giovanni Zatara.

June and Giovanni have their (adopted, on June's part) daughter Zatanna and son Archie.

~ Story: Giovanni met June earlier in the timeline, fell in love, and married within a few years. Archie was born (2011) when Zatanna was 7, almost 8 (born in, by my math, 2004ish?). ~ And no, June isn't Enchantress in this au. Not really gonna do much apart from outlining and coloring it, eventually.

I tried to keep within the show's style, with a few attempted things to keep it in my style.

Jora (my B10 OC) exists in this universe. She is Pamela's lab partner in biology class. She wants to be more in tune with nature but always kills her plants. Interested in the supernatural such as fairies, monsters and of course, aliens. Not a superhero.

Cecelia "Cece" Holden (An OC I made for Superman) is a teen prodigy and apparently Lex has a crush on her but she rejects him. Constantly. In reality she hates the stigma that her role brings and kinda expresses her true feelings through moonlighting as a superhero. Partners in crime with Kara. Her older sister is Verda.

Verda (The Rose Veil) is your typical YA novel "Not Like Other Girls" heroine. She's a struggling first year college student who ends up getting a job as Bruce Wayne's babysitter personal assistant. Hates her boss but is in love with Batman (who actually IS her boss) and neither of them knows each other's identities.
