Thursday, March 19th, 2020. So I have some answers. It’s been three weeks since I fell down the stairs in my house. ON LEAP DAY. *hold for laughter* After many appointments and X-rays and finally getting an MRI I have some answers. Nothing is broken. Just some pretty bad strains and tears. Saw a sports medicine doctor today and he said at minimum is 6-8 weeks of recovery being off the knee. Thankfully, I have a great support system at home. Thank you @coupygirl for taking care of me and @olliedadachshund for being my nurse all day long. I have to work in range of mobility, I have to lose weight, but most importantly, I have to remain positive. At the end of the day, yes, I can’t really walk and I have to wheel myself on a wheelchair named Lola, but I’m still here. My ligaments may be torn, but my sense of humor is intact! I may not have cartilage anymore, but I have lots of friends and family who support me. We may be practicing social distancing, but I’m here for you friends. Stay healthy. Wash your hands. What a day.

The Speech Contest was exactly what I thought it would be: disorganized and chaotic with a splash of finesse thrown into the mix.

The BPI index was extremely high today, so my little cough from the morning turned into a yellowish-brown, phlegmatic sore throat in under 12 hours.

I am so unhappy with my body right now.

But the school nurse gave me some medicine and I took some Benadryl to help me sleep, which is finally kicking in now.

On the plus side, writing a letter to myself and my feelings about X helped last night. Sure, my session with my therapist is making me question everything I thought I knew about X.

But maybe that’s a good thing. Because if I’m asking myself questions and evaluating my feelings, I’m spending less time actually missing X and wanting her back on some level.

So I guess... progress?

Fuck it, I’m too sick and sleepy to care. I hope I can get through Halloween without coughing up my soul in the process.

I asked the universe to give me the strength to at least get up and open the curtains.
