IT HAS ARRIVED.

It should be no surprise to anyone that Dawn Again is my favorite Saiouma fanfiction of all time. It surpassed Kriegspiel and Psychobabble in my brain space and soared to the top of my list forever and ever. I could sing it’s praise for hours, complimenting the dynamics, the reimagined scenarios, the formatting, and experimentation on the writing side, the thoughtfulness of the clues, the games, and the romance.

Listen. I am a shipper at heart. I don’t read fanfiction if it doesn’t include either my favorite little guys or my favorite character dynamics in it. I also cannot read just fluff or angst. I need there to be something extra, something to chew on. Most of the time this takes the form of canon divergence for my favorite series—reimagining/playing in the space and Dawn Again far exceeded my expectations for this.

I love Shuichi in this fic. I love his development. I love the other side we get to see of him, his cool and collected nature. I love to see him flustered but also cold and confident. He’s so in his head, I always love seeing how he comes across to others. I love Kokichi in this fic. I love his tricks, his mechanics, his quiet observations, and his stubbornness. I love the way the two push and pull one another, the ways they test and play and bond over the course of ten chapters. I love the way Kokichi is a few steps ahead but Shuichi is always on the verge of catching up.

I love them, I love them, I love them.

I am so happy that the physical book has come home. I’ve had it downloaded on my IPad in PDF but to have and to hold it is next level. It feels so official and I am so honored to have it sitting on my shelf. This picture is kinda shitty in quality, but I am loving the book itself.

Honestly I love Tomodachi life because you can have all your silly OCs on a island and they can have a peaceful little life. My two zombie apocalypse OCs (not pictured) are loving life. Happy New Year!

In 2025, I’ll be exploring ways to raffle and give away paperback prints of Dawn Again!

I want this to be a special gift to you saiouma readers who have come to this fic and joined on the adventure <3 The fic means so much to me and I love that it has reached your hearts too!

Here’s what I’m thinking. I’ll do a limited print run involving:

a raffle on bsky and tumblr – US only now, so I can fully cover shipping costs (details on entry coming soon)

a meet up at Anime Expo 2025 to get a copy (reach out to me if you think you’ll attend!)

As I get more comfortable with the shipping process, I’d love to do another raffle outside the US if people would be okay covering some of the costs (e.g., shipping + taxes). Please let me know if you have thoughts or suggestions about this!

I have two test prints and am doing light edits (mostly blasting commas left and right) I’m up to chapter 4. When I finish, I’ll order the next round of books and prepare the raffle!

I’m also exploring printing an anthology of my saiouma one-shots and writing a new fic to include! This probably won’t come to pass until I finish my current WIP, but I already have the draft manuscript of the one-shots! I love the typesetting process.

Anyway, these are my goals for 2025, plus finishing my current WIP! Let's have a great new year together! 😊
