Henry Cavill as Count Dracula.

Henry would make a great Dracula, he has a calm strength about him, naturally.  That could easily be infused into a Dracula role.  

Synopsis: An ordinary man, unaware of his lineage as a descendant of Count Dracula, experiences a car accident that halts his heart due to severe injuries. This triggers a dormant genetic mutation within him. The initial hint of something unusual emerges during his recovery when frequent intravenous blood treatments become necessary. Additionally, his healing process remarkably accelerates, progressing twice as quickly as anticipated. However, persistent anemia proves to be an escalating issue, signaling an ominous path ahead.

Short Story

David Drako, a grounded individual working as a field agent for the Department of Agriculture, embarked on a journey from Washington to Oklahoma City. Preoccupied with thoughts of the local farming Co-Op where he was scheduled to speak, little did he know that his life would take an extraordinary turn that day.

Collecting his rental car and consulting his phone for directions, he set off towards his hotel, unaware that fate loomed in the distance.

Suddenly, he found himself in a haze, struggling to open his eyes and sensing an unsettling discomfort coursing through his body. Gradually, his vision cleared, revealing a hospital room. His attempts to rise were futile, met with the urgent intervention of a nurse rushing to his side. "Sir, please calm down. You were involved in a traffic accident," she informed him.

Perplexed, David questioned, "What happened? I was on my way to my hotel." It dawned on him that he must have been severely injured and heavily medicated. Persisting in his efforts to sit up, the nurse urged him to relax, assuring him that the doctor would provide further details soon.

Drifting in and out of consciousness, he awoke later to the presence of several individuals in his room. Though limited in movement, he could overhear their conversations. A middle-aged man approached him, introducing himself as Dr. Walsheed. "Mr. Drako, you're a fortunate man. The nurse has already informed you about the serious accident," he stated.

"Has my wife been informed?" David inquired.

"Yes, she has been notified and is on her way here," replied the doctor, projecting a warm yet solemn expression.

"Firstly, I want to assure you that you will recover. You underwent a lengthy surgery to address numerous broken bones and significant internal injuries. We managed to control the internal bleeding and perform repairs on your liver, large intestine, and stomach."

Confused about his inability to sit up, David's expression changed. "Your spine suffered minor damage, mostly bruising with a few small fractures in the lower vertebrae. Rest assured, it doesn't appear to be permanent."

Aware that the doctor was withholding something, he pressed further. Eventually, the truth emerged.

"In addition, you experienced an aorta rupture and lost a substantial amount of blood. Your heart briefly stopped, but we were able to repair the rupture and revive you."

"I can confidently say that you'll make a full recovery," the doctor assured, offering a reassuring hand. "The nurse will discuss what you can expect in the coming days. I'll return later to check on you."

Oh my favourite book (ironically enough hehe) - The Running Man by Michael Gerard Bauer. It's about a boy who has to paint his neighbours brother, a Vietnam war veteran, for his art project and the two (the war veteran and boy) form a bond with each other. The writing is lovely and it contains no romance in it.

Rabbit proof fence - A movie based on a true story of 3 Aboriginal girls attempting to go back home after being taken away by their mother. No romance, only around family (mainly between the sister and their journey in coming back home to their mother) It's sad but has a bittersweet ending.

Yolngu boy - Three boys rebond again after attempting to rescue their friend from jail and to go to Darwin. There is an implied romance but it's so rare and it's mostly around the boys friendship with each other. Great movie, heartbreaking one though with another bittersweet ending.

Heaven eyes by David Almond - Orphan kids running away to the great sea till they get washed away to an island with a strange girl. The book feels like your in a dream and contains no romance in it

So much to tell you by John Marsden - a book centring around a girl that had her face scarred by her abusive father and now has to attend an all girl's boarding school to finally 'speak' again. Little to do with romance, the main character is kinda aspec coded ngl (just me though) and the books happy ending is her meeting her father again.

Spirited away - Maybe it's just me but there's seems to be no romance in that movie either and just two characters who care about each other (if you see 'love' as non romantic per say) Amazing story, animation, creative. Go watch it.

Don't fall in love by Drako Jones - classic aromantic song what could I say

If your also an aromantic historian, maybe the 'thirteen days' movie by Roger Donaldson. There's no romance in it either, just a docu-drama around the Cuban missile crisis.

The thing about finding out you’re aromantic is that very often there is a grieving process.

We mourn the lives we feel we were supposed to have. Society has told us that we were supposed to have sweeping romances and sprint through airports to stop people’s planes etc., and that is pretty much the only happy ending they show us. How many movies end with two people getting together? How many end with a marriage or a love confession or a kiss? And then after that, happily ever after is implied.

Which is why my biggest tip for combating said aromantic grief is to consume as much content where this isn’t the case as possible.

I’m not saying never read romance again, but being able to visualize a future with alternative happy endings is infinitely helpful.

So here’s all the media I go to when I need to feel non-romantic aro feels:

- the Adventures of Tintin. About a young reporter who solves mysteries, found family who all end up living together. Steven Spielberg movie is good, American cartoon is good, and the comics are amazing, just avoid Tintin in the Congo. The author was Belgian.

- all the Redwall books. There are 22 of them. There is also a three season cartoon. There are rodents. They have swords. The food. THE FOOD. also you will be a communist by the end. In a good way.

- little women 2019 because her happy ending isn’t that she marries the professor, her happy ending is that she gets her book. And the aro vibes are strong as hell

- all of the aro fanfiction. Just all of it.

My Jake has been very cranky ever since I got my David. Is it a bad idea to house them together?

Ah, Davids can be quite hot headed which could agitate other survivors like your Jake.

Make sure that their enclosure is plenty big for your Jake so he can get his alone time.

If they aren't physically hurting each other there may not be a need to separate them. Things like bonding exercises between them could help them get along.

And make sure you're still giving your Jake plenty of the attention he wants! Sometimes with new additions to enclosures the older survivors can get jealous if you aren't giving them their usual attention.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Pre Hogwarts: Ninfa was born in Ariccia, Italy as the second child of Orazio and Calliope. Ninfa lived in Italy until she was nine years old when her family immigrated to Scotland.  When she was 10 years old, Ninfa almost drowned when some seaweed got caught around her ankle when high tide was coming in which resulted in the water going above her head. fortunately Enzo noticed her in time and quickly rescued her, however this incident caused her to become scared of the ocean. One day after school, Ninfa was chased up a tree by a group of older children and she fell down it when she put too much weight on a branch, causing her scars on her face but she quickly got up in a blood rage and awakened her family magic using a nearby rock to try fight off the group, the end result was many of the bullies were hospitalised. 

Hogwarts Years: In her first year, Ninfa befriended Oriana and Hirtia almost immediately upon meeting both of them. Her mother starts teaching her how to work the forge which she quickly picks up like a duck to water. Ninfa meets David through Hirtia in year four and pretty quickly has a massive crush on him that is obvious to everyone but David Ninfa becomes one of the prefects of Slytherin and becomes an animagus. This is also the year where she forges her gauntlets Her last year at Hogwarts is when she and David finally begin dating and she forges the sword she stores her wand in when she graduates

Post-Hogwarts: After graduating Ninfa became an auror and married David after dating for 6 years. Shortly after their marriage Ninfa became pregnant with their son, Leone but once he was born, David became abusive to Ninfa which eventually resulted in Ninfa killing him mercilessly to protect Leone. 6 months after David’s death, Ninfa was caught in a trap facing 10 wizards by herself, she eventually killed them all singlehandedly but not without the total loss of her left eye Shortly after the loss of her eye, Ninfa is on the case of a serial killer with a long unused way of killing which Ninfa does not know enough about so she goes to consult a historian who happens to be Hirtia and once Hirtia provides all the information she can find, the two catch each other up on what’s happening in their lives. Eventually feelings blossomed and the two began dating each other.

Vezměme to stručně.

Starostou byl zvolen Vlastislav Coufalík ze Změny. Místostarostou Tomáš Vrtal z KDU-ČSL. Do rady byli kromě nich zvoleni ještě David Skřipec (Změna), Michaela Trávníčková (SNK pro budoucnost) a Dana Brhelová (KDU-ČSL).

Opozici bylo nabídnuto předsednictví finančního a kontrolního výboru. Obojí odmítli. To je dost podivné. V jiných obcích opozice zpravidla chce pracovat pro obec a tyto výbory s povděkem obsadí. Ale je to práce... Předsedou finančního výboru byl pak zvolen Martin Pavlíček (Změna) a předsedou kontrolního výboru František Lízal (KDU-ČSL).

Výše odměn zůstala stejná jako již od počátku minulého volebního období.

Celé jednání se neslo v dosti emočně vypjaté atmosféře, k čemuž přispěla zejména skupina sympatizantů pana Urbana vedená jeho rodinou, která seděla v první řadě. Doplnili ji jeho spolukandidáti a jejich rodiny. Během jednání neustále pokřikovali, když položili nějakému zastupiteli otázku, nenechali jej dokončit ani první souvětí a již jej přerušovali… zkrátka, bylo to dost nedůstojné. Bylo zřejmé, že reagují na mé články na blogu, ale jejich jednání se těžko dá interpretovat jinak než jako potvrzení známého rčení o potrefené huse.

Závěrečným bodem, který dosti nezvykle ještě předchozí starostka zařadila na bod jednání ustavujícího zastupitelstva, bylo vrácení se k usnesení z minulého zasedání zastupitelstva. Tehdy byla schválena plánovací smlouva o stavbě rodinných domů firmou Drako. Ačkoli firma Drako dle slov jejího jednatele použila přímo formulář, který jim dal územně plánovací odbor Kroměříž, právní kanceláře najaté paní Šiškovou objevily ve smlouvě chyby. Inu, co stačí pro Kroměříž a ostatní obce v okolí, to není dost kvalitní pro Zlobice… Zde si dovolím upozornit, že tomu navíc šlo snadno předejít. Stačilo, aby poslechla mé výzvy a nechala smlouvu rovnou vypracovat naším právníkem. To odmítla s argumentem, že „Drako něco chce, ne my“. Tento argument vyvrátily i samotné posudky, protože něco evidentně chce i obec. Nicméně i když jsme smlouvu nevytvořili my, bylo velmi mnoho času, aby se právní posouzení smlouvy předložené firmou Drako stihlo dříve. První verzi poslali na obec již v září 2021. Ale bohužel. Proč to tak dlouho trvalo? Odpověď asi všichni známe. Každopádně minulé usnesení bylo zrušeno a o smlouvě se bude znovu jednat.

Ze zasedání jsem si ovšem odnesl i několik pozitivních momentů. Například jsem souhlasil s panem Jaroslavem Urbanem, když říkal, že smlouvu s investorem měla vypracovat obec (ano, navrhoval jsem to již více než před rokem, jak jsem zde psal), souhlasil jsem s panem Tučkem (když se podivil nad tím, jak někdo mohl volit pana Palíška ačkoli ten se nebyl podívat na jediném předchozím zastupitelstvu) a ocenil jsem, že pan Šiška se snažil křiklounům vysvětlit, že by měli respektovat výsledek voleb. A ten byl 8 mandátů pro KDU a Změnu. Myslím, že ho ani nechtěli poslouchat, ale každopádně měl pravdu.

Na závěr slovo k mým voličům. Vím, že jste zklamaní, že starostou není Tomáš Vrtal. Já jsem se snažil dělat vše pro to, aby jím byl. Bohužel náš zisk 4 mandátů z 15 nám neumožnil prosadit na starostu Tomáše. Bylo nutné dohodnout koalici se Změnou, která získala také 4 mandáty. To se nemohlo obejít bez kompromisu. Na druhou stranu, všichni víme, že jsme do voleb šli s podobným viděním toho, co se ve Zlobicích a Bojanovicích má změnit. Zkusme proto dát novému starostovi šanci. Bude to pro něj pekelně těžké, protože obec je rozdělena na dvě skoro stejně velké skupiny, které vidí věci dost rozdílně. Snad se atmosféra teď po volbách trochu uklidní.

While serving arrest warrant, FBI shot and killed 35-year-old at KC apartment, agency says

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The FBI says a 35-year-old man was killed by an agent Wednesday at a Kansas City apartment complex.

The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon at Alcazar Apartments near 39th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

The FBI said agents and task force officers were there serving an arrest warrant.

During the encounter, 35-year-old David William Irving was shot and killed. No one else was injured.

The agency previously said an agent shot the man but has not released any further details on what led up to the shooting.

Now, the FBI’s inspection division in Washington D.C. will head up the investigation. In a statement, an agency spokesman said they will not release any other details at this time.

The shooting at Alcazar Apartments was little to no surprise to people who live and work in the area.

“The police is here every day, and I’ve seen fights, people getting shot, stabbed,” said Draque Drako, a nearby business owner. “There’s a lot of drug use.”

And he’s not the only one in the neighborhood who feels the apartment complex is an eyesore.

“It just never feels like everything is safe and secure here,” Katy Longton said.

Longton has lived in the area for three years and said she wasn’t surprised to see the huge police presence Wednesday when she walked out her front door.

“It kind of sucks that I just figure something bad is going on,” she said. “In the beginning it was scary, but now it’s just normal.”

Sorry, heard a thud in the next room and dropped my phone, it was just my huntress practicing with her hatchets. To recap, my grandma is in the hospital, and I'm taking care of her David for her until she gets out. I've got a Huntress and I was wondering if there might be any conflict between the two of them. Pretty sure that David is emotional support for my grandma, so is there anything you can reccomend?

Oh goodness! I hope it’s nothing serious and she has a speedy recovery!

Being an emotional support David I’m assuming he’s rather well trained and well mannered so there shouldn’t be too much of a problem from David’s side. Biggest thing I’d be worried about is your Huntress seeing him as prey and attacking him.  You could try introducing him to your huntress as a friend and show her that he is not to be attacked. Or you could always keep him away from your killer all together (but that only really works if this is temporary) maybe keep him around your person if you can as he is most likely used to being around his mun.

BIOGRAPHY

In some lives, there is little happiness and much drudgery.  This was the case for Nico di Angelo.  He doesn’t know when he was born.  He can’t remember his mother.  He carried around an innate wariness and skepticism always, but it never got him anywhere.  All he knew of life really was a little bit of boarding school and a whole lot of the Lotus Hotel and Casino.  Every day was the same, and he was perpetually the same age as when he entered the casino, but he didn’t know if he wanted to get out.  He didn’t think he wanted to get out.  And what was out, anyway?  He had Bianca, his sister, and that was all he needed. 

Until it wasn’t.  Until he and Bianca were taken out of the only world they’ve ever known and spilled into what can only be called chaos.  They’d been removed from the safety of Lotus by a Fury in disguise and dropped at a boarding school, where a series of strange and disturbing things happened.  The first time he ever heard of a demigod was when the hunters of Artemis came to his and Bianca’s defense, as the siblings were attacked in a subway.  The hunters aligned the di Angelos with Camp Half-Blood and, while Nico didn’t fit in exactly, it was the best place for him.  He was getting explanations to things he’d never actually considered asking even though they bothered him.  He learned he and and his sister were children of Hades, demigods with powers and possibly with a duty to fulfill.  Bianca joined the hunters of Artemis eventually, grateful they had saved her and Nico, and he was mostly sure he’d never forgive her for abandoning him and leaving him to his own devices at Camp Half-Blood.  And then she died during a task, in spite of Percy’s promise to protect her, and he was positive he’d never entirely forgive her -- or Percy, who notified him that Bianca was dead following a battle.  This was the reason he claimed to run away from Camp for good, but while he and Percy were fighting it out, Nico found himself attracted to the other boy and it scared him. 

Nico couldn’t say what happened in the intervening years really.  He could call up spirits, could speak with them, and he did so with Bianca’s frequently.  Talking to ghosts, for those who can’t see them, is not exactly a sign of sanity.  People have tended to stay away from him.  Bianca eventually agreed to be reborn, which meant he couldn’t see her anymore.  His memories have been coming back in flashes, sometimes literal flashes so he thinks something with lightning was a factor, but there’s nothing concrete and he can’t sort it all out.  He felt drawn to Fableton and came, having literally nothing else to lose.  He knows his father is here somewhere.  He has an innate sense that Hades will be skeptical at best, because he himself would be, and he hesitates to approach his father with no proof besides a few mystical powers and a handful of hazy memories.

CONNECTIONS

Hades Drakos:  Nico knows the man is his father because of his time at Camp Half-Blood but he can’t remember anything solid enough to inspire him to make contact.  He has mixed feelings about it all and doesn’t think he’ll know what to do until he’s there, in front of Hades, doing whatever it takes to reveal himself to the Lord of the Dead.

Pierce Goodman: The guy is dark and mysterious and seems powerful.  Maybe if things with Hades don’t work out, Nico will just make his boss his role model.

Son las figuras que participarán en el recital homenaje a una de las figuras esenciales del rock en castellano: Federico Moura. A tres décadas de su fallecimiento, Provincia Emergente recuerda al líder de la banda Virus, quien será doblemente homenajeado a través de una muestra y un recitalque estará formado por una banda estable integrada por Juanchi Baleirón (Los Pericos), Javier Malosetti, Gabriel Pedernera (Eruca Sativa), Diego Blanco (Los Pericos) y Fernando Monteleone (Virus) en el gran cierre de la primera jornada.

 Más de 420 artistas, 120 actividades en 20 disciplinas durante 3 días Música, muestras, slackline, stand up, longboard, parkour, diseño sustentable, festival de festivales, arte callejero, concurso Provincia Emergente, danza, realidad virtual, emergentito, instalaciones, cine, talleres y exploración sonora.  Organizado por el Gobierno de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, por tercer año consecutivo el Festival Provincia Emergente se llevará a cabo en el Estadio Único Ciudad de La Plata los días 8, 9 y 10 de junio. Durante los 3 días habrá 120 actividades, muchas de ellas permanentes, y espectáculos a cargo de más de 420 artistas en 20 disciplinas.Las actividades comienzan a las 14 y el ingreso es por las calles 25 y 528, de manera libre y gratuita. Más de 300 mil personas disfrutaron las dos primeras ediciones del festival.

Este año, a tres décadas de su fallecimiento, Provincia Emergente recuerda a una de las figuras esenciales del rock en castellano: Federico Moura, líder de la banda Virus, quien será doblemente homenajeado a través de una muestra y un recital que reunirá a integrantes de Virus con figuras de la música argentina actual: Lali, Chano, Soledad, Ángela Torres, Marcelo y Julio Moura, Ale Sergi, Juliana Gattas (Miranda), David Lebón, Manuel Moretti (Estelares), Walas (Massacre), Leo García, Eruca Sativa, Louta, Guillermo Beresñak, Miss Bolivia y Pano Benincasa (Joystick) se unirán a una banda estableformada por Juanchi Baleirón (Los Pericos), Javier Malosetti, Gabriel Pedernera (Eruca Sativa), Diego Blanco (Los Pericos) y Fernando Monteleone (Virus)en el gran cierre de la primera jornada. El festival promueve el encuentro entre artistas emergentes de toda la Provincia: Cruzando el Charco, La Teoría del Caos, Pommez Internacional, El Estrellero, Los Tabaleros, Lo’ Pibitos y este año se suma como invitado internacional The inspector Cluzo (Francia). A su vez, los consagrados que cerrarán cada una de las jornadas: además del Homenaje a Federico Moura, el sábado 9 se presentará El Bordo y el domingo 10 Chano, quien tocará por primera vez en el Estadio Único Ciudad de La Plata.

CAMPO DE JUEGO-Escenario principal: se presentarán las bandas y comediantes consagrados: Radagast, Federico Cyrulnik y los Rodríguez Galati.En el Campo de Juego habrá muñecos gigantes del Robots Drako Emergente, flashmob de danza a cargo de los chicos de Decilo Bailando, Arte urbano de mano de Falopapas junto a un seleccionado de artistas y, las cintas de slackline elevadas donde se verán exhibiciones, el campeonato de highline cuyo ganador viajará al Mundial de China y el show Metamorfosis.-Fotografía: la muestra de fotos “Sacá el rock de tu ciudad”, resultado del segundo Concurso Provincia Emergente para jóvenes fotógrafos. El jurado estuvo integrado por los fotógrafos Fernando Dvoskin, Martín Bonetto y la fotógrafa Nora Lezano.-Metamorfosis: show aéreo armado a través de la técnica de slackline, con una coreografía de danza, luces y música, que la compañía Onírico Extremo y el Club de Slack crearon a medida para el Estadio Único. 

PARQUE URBANO -Emergentito: nuevo espacio que el festival dedica a los más chicos con tutti frutti, lanzapalabras, talleres de luthería, beatbox, rimas y parkour. (Sábado y domingo de 14 a 18 h)-Longboard: Longbrothers La Plata con demostración y dos competencias: Peloton Race y slidejam.-Parkour: demostración y talleres de destreza sobre mobiliario urbano.-Ring: batallarán raperos, bailarines, poetas y habrá shows de trap.-Slackline: introducción a la disciplina apta para todas las edades y experimentación a través de cascos VR: caminata sobre una línea de 2,5 cm de ancho a 32 metros de altura en el Estadio Único. Además, habrá competencia de trickline durante los 3 días.-Torre Dj: musicalizará DJ Súper. Además, se presentarán los tres finalistas de “La búsqueda del ritmo”, otra de las convocatorias del Concurso Provincia Emergente.-Arte Callejero: containers intervenidos por la dupla de artistas callejeros Acra-Bagnato.-Living de Lectura: biblioteca de rock.-Mercado de Rock: La Disquería, Rock Outlet y gorras “Clota”.-Cafetería. EL HANGAR-Música: tocarán veinte bandas pertenecientes a distintos Festivales que suceden en la Provincia: Festival Energía Divina, Festival Puente, de Festival CUERO Boutique.A su vez, cuatro de las seleccionadas del Programa Envión (Ministerio de Desarrollo Social de la Provincia).-Humor: se presentarán un gran número de comediantes, 20 de ellos elegidos a través de “Open Mic”, la tercera convocatoria del Concurso Provincia Emergente. AVENIDA EMERGENTE-“Recordando tu expresión: Redescubriendo a Federico Moura”: muestra sobre la vida y obra del artista, que incluye una intervención, creada junto al Ministerio de Salud de la Provincia y Fundación Huésped, destinada a la concientización y prevención del VIH/sida.-Experimentación sonora: isla sonora, percusión digital, taller de robots y laboratorio de @Klink.-Diseño sustentable: Kusco y Swahili, emprendimientos platenses que fabrican objetos de diseño con cartón y plástico desechados. Espacio de concientización del cuidado del medio ambiente, acompañado por la Asociación de Cartoneros de Villa Itatí + Trascartón Diseño.-Producción gráfica: afiches con frases y palabras (mediante técnicas de reproducción manual, serigrafía y prensa) a cargo de Conquista Editora.

LA ESQUINA-Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud Buenos Aires 2018: Activación 360. Experiencia de realidad virtual.-Cine: películas con temática de la cultura que integra el festival, como Cemento – El Documental, Videoclips de Joaquín Cambre, Finding Sofía, entre otras.
