Falling for a childhood friend, if that wasn't done over million times in the romcoms he watched.

He felt dumb for letting this trope catch him. I mean of course, having a relationship with someone last so long and it being funded on just enjoying each other's company by the start which transformed into mutual trust and respect to the point now that any romantic feelings won't make you feel like you need to be perfect to be accepted since you've seen all kinds of sides over the years you've known each other- sounds pretty nice.

But it's not like he can be with you. He imagines it often thanks to his cursed thinkpan working on it's own like that for no reason. But actually living these "dreams"..? He can't really help but think it's not a good idea.

It's just that it feels weird. You've been through a lot, and it just feels unreal that your relationship could possibly be something "more" only different.

Although there is desire for change... He likes how things are now.

Sollux

With Sollux you either perfectly know what's on his mind, or the complete opposite.

He's a jerk, especially to you. Frankly spending your childhood together only gave him more ways to tease you and bring up the most embarrassing stories when you were younger at the worst times.

But in the end he won't deny his obvious soft spot for you. He's not about pretending he doesn't care about you.

What he will deny is the possibility of him having feelings for you... While also joking about it being the case for you.

He wouldn't go into too much detail but the "you wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid" is a line you could hear plenty of times during any small argument really.

He wishes it was the case. But he doesn't plan on confessing or "forcing" his feelings onto you.

But man, if you ever notice his huge crush he'd honestly be impressed how long it took for you to notice. You'd have to get a trophy for that... Still it's unlikely to happen.

Dave

He always had the same opinion about you. You were cool, fun and you just get him. Like woah calm down there because he might fall for you.

... which definitely isn't the case now.

His biggest mistake was mentioning it to Rose once, he didn't even get into detail. Just slipped up a minor one and it ended with him getting free typical Rose psychology analysis.

Her advice was good, but he just didn't want to talk about it. He liked you a lot, but he was more than okay with leaving things as they are.

You're buddies since forever. And it's not like he'd see much change if you'd actually date. Other than him being romantic in the most lame way for irony purpose.

Which normally should be his sign to go for it since there isn't a lot he can lose. But with Rose knowing it all, he definitely won't be able to pretend that he isn't madly in love with you.

She'd keep teasing him about it. Glance at him whenever he's talking to you. But he just wasn't ready to say it. Not yet.

👓 John Egbert x Reader 🌪

From the first day of your acquaintance, you and John were able to find a common language. You were very empathetic in communication and quickly found a way to get along with John. He genuinely liked to communicate with you and he even came to visit you several times. These days have brought you closer together and allowed John to get to know you much better

John knew that you were always ready to listen to him if he needed it. You listened to him when he told you about his father and his worries, but only a few months later you showed him the emotions that you were hiding. You were much more sensitive than you seemed at first glance, and for the first time since you met John, he became the one who listened to your problems and not the other way around

When you started dating, you continued to keep a lot to yourself. You didn't want to burden such a bright person as John with your problems, so he took them on himself. He claimed that it was not a problem for him, smiling broadly and inwardly rejoicing that he could at least help you a little and make your life easier

John knew that you were a good, sincere person who was dear to him. He wanted you to feel better, realizing how much you took on yourself and that you also needed a person who was willing to listen to you and help you find a way out for your emotions

🕶 Dave Strider x Reader 💿

Your communication with Dave started thanks to Rose. It was she who introduced you and at first you both felt some awkwardness. Dave didn't know how to approach communication with you and you were bad at starting a conversation, but after several attempts you were able to get rid of the awkwardness and communicated openly, as far as possible for the two of you, who hid many emotions from others

You often shared with Dave what you planned to do in the coming day and quite often the next day you forgot about it. After a long time of your communication, Dave learned to notice when you could say something else, but remained silent. You didn't voice many things and often hid your emotions from others, but Dave was able to learn to find out what was really on your mind. You told him about what was bothering you and he always listened to you, giving you the opportunity to at least speak out if he could not help you in any way

When Dave started noticing that your emotional state began to deteriorate, he realized what was the reason for this. You've taken on too much. Because of this, your emotional resources were quickly running out. You always tried to help your friends, but you tried to keep your distance even with him, which is why Dave had to convince you that you didn't need to take everything on yourself and he was always ready to offer you his help

Dave knew he had few opportunities to help you, at least while you were communicating from a distance. But Dave hoped that soon you will be able to communicate in person, because then he will have more opportunities to really help you

♋️ Karkat Vantas x Reader ❤️

Your communication with Karkat didn't start quite smoothly. At first, you just talked, but when you became friends, he began to notice that sometimes you behaved like you were arrogant. This quickly exasperated him, but after a while he realized that you were sincerely trying to help and you had no intention of appearing arrogant. Karkat was surprised, but after a few minutes of reflection, he realized that perhaps he really did not quite understand your words correctly

Karkat often scolded you for often doing the work for others. You took a lot on yourself and kept others at a distance that others didn't notice, but not Karkat. He saw perfectly well that it was as if you had built a wall between yourself and others, and he was not going to let you continue to do so, seeing that the way you usually lived did not help you much

Karkat became the only one in front of whom you showed those emotions that you hid from others. Usually you were the one who listened to other people's problems, but Karkat took on some of your problems. He listened to you, supported you and helped you with advice when he knew exactly how to help you. He gave you that emotional return that you needed so much

Karkat intended to help you become more open to others. He knew that if you constantly rely only on yourself, you will only make yourself worse, and that's what he tried to convey to you, hoping that you will feel better at least a little

♊️ Sollux Captor x Reader 🐝

Sollux knew you as an extremely sensitive, sometimes hot-tempered person who was always ready to listen and help. That's how the others knew you, but Sollux, who knew you better than everyone else, knew that this was not all. You were the person who hid many of your thoughts from others and built a wall from others, not wanting to burden them with your problems

Even when you started dating, you didn't immediately open up to him. You didn't want to put your problems on his shoulders, but when you were able to open up to him, he saw another side of you. You gave yourself completely in your relationship and Sollux tried to make sure that you didn't regret it

Sollux saw how much you took on yourself and how often your confidence in your own rightness prevailed over a sound perception of the world. In this you were even similar. You were both responsible and preferred to stay away, but it was because of your similarity that he understood what you were experiencing and how hard it could be for you

You both tried to help each other feel better. Knowing what difficulties you could have, you tried to be close to each other and make it easier for both of you. You did a lot for each other, but neither you nor Sollux regretted it

They help increase your salt intake, since it helps retain water in the blood vessels, which in turn elevates blood pressure to normal levels. However, because of the salt intake, you gotta drink a lot of water so you dont dehydrate!! they are checking up on you to make sure you aren't dehydrated, because dehydration sucks.

before you all go to bed, they make sure that there's a bottle of water for you to drink on the nightstand.

if you can wear them, they will buy you some compression socks/gloves <3

They help get stuff off of the ground and such as you don't need to bend over as much, and make sure you have a place to sit.

They would meditate with you if you do it, although karkat is mumbling something under his breath most of the time.

to help reduce your nausea, they might get you a peppermint or two, a ginger ale, or make you some ginger tea if you feel like it. (i actually prefer ginger chews!! i prefer chewy things over hard things most of the time haha)

they make a meal plan!! they try to find recipes for foods that don't include dairy or gluten. make sure that your eating four to six small meals a day.

you and dave exercise together! Nothing high impact or anything upright (in the beginning stages of your training) but he helps you build up time so your steadily working out 30 minutes for five days, despite how much you may not like it...

they keep ice packs in the freezer at all times to help ice the pain <3

An incomplete list of queerness in homestuck :

Rose Lalonde (lesbian) x Kanaya Maryam (homosexual biromantic) : this couple ends homestuck with their wedding

Kanaya’s ex-romantic partner was Vriska Serket (bisexual transgender woman), and part of Kanaya’s story includes her romantic-and-sexual attraction to Vriska interfering with communication in their non-sexual romantic relationship

Vriska has an ex-sexual-and-romantic-rival named Eridan Ampora (bisexual genderqueer)

Vriska later shows romantic-and-sexual attraction to Kanaya, but Kanaya’s already moved on…

And then Vriska gets in a romantic partnership with Terezi Pyrope (bisexual woman)

Terezi notoriously has some initial will-they-won’t-they with Karkat Vantas (bisexual, also queer from the perspective of their species due to his inability to separate the “romantic only” feelings from the “romantic and sexual” ones, as well as distinguishing between the romantic&sexual feelings aligned with rivalry from the version humans recognize as “regular love”. He “smears” them, which is queer to his people)

Karkat himself has had sexual-and-romantic-rivalry feelings for “John” Egbert (a character who identified as a cis boy at the time, but in the sequel material as an adult is going to have a transition arc into a woman named “June”)

Vriska also had a romantic-and-sexual relationship with “John” at one point (again this takes place before the gender journey so im putting that in the Vriska bisexuality category)

“John” has experienced sexual-and-romantic-rivalry attraction to Terezi (which culminated in passionate lovemaking in one timeline of the sequel), attraction to Vriska, and one version of him in the sequel material is a divorced father with Roxy Lalonde, so when “June” happens i think we can safely label these as sapphic desires on “June’s” side

Karkat also has “smeared” romantic & sexual feelings for Dave Strider (bisexual), the two of them are in a distinctly romantic if not traditionally definable by alien romance standards relationship by the end of homestuck. In the sequel, their sloppy makeouts are evident in one timeline.

Speaking of Dave, his genetic mother Roxy Lalonde (bisexual) and in the sequel material, one timeline of Roxy is a transmasc guy

transmasc Roxy is dating Calliope, who we are introduced to in the original comic as some form of transfem , as she comes from a people who don’t have human conceptions of gender , and she intentionally dresses herself in the trappings and presentation of human womanhood.

Roxy’s best friend is Dirk Strider (gay), and he is in a relationship with Jake English (bisexual, possibly aromatic?) during part of the original comic

Okay im tired of typing this but i want you the reader of this post to know it is harder for me to name a character who is convincingly written as both cis and straight then it is for me to list another queer character

- dating the two of them is.. simply put… chaotic. But that is what you expect when dating them anyways.

- the two of them like the lazy life, playing video games and watching shitty movies on the couch is how they often spend their evenings with you, and they help out when they can.

- Dave is more likely to get an actual job, but karkat would not. He would, if he wasn’t so goddamn rude to everyone he met in his life. So safe to say, he’d rather be a malewife.

- I mention all this because well.. moving in with them would be pretty quick. I’d say they take the relationship slow but that’s the one thing that’s pretty quick in your relationship, since the both of them are annoying and clingy.

- arguments between them happen often, but never anything serious and can easily be solved between the two of them.

- as stated before are extremely clingy, when sleeping you’re squished in the middle of them, all the time. Even when cuddling on the couch, and gives karkat a dirty look when he comes home to the two of you cuddling on the couch and leaving him out.

- Dave also likes to flirt with you more than usual in front of karkat to piss him off, it’s the only time he doesn’t get nervous about flirting with you

- neither are the best with comforting and are both equally awkward but do their best

- their attempts at romance with you are also completely different, Dave is more flirty and tries to be smooth, but still thinks movie nights are good enough. Karkat tries to be more cliche (but can’t say anything cliche without bursting red) and gives you second hand embarrassment, whilst trying too hard.

- the two are cuddled up to eachother when they can’t be with you, the good thing about dating the two of them is that when you don’t have time for them they always have eachother to fill the void

- the two of them are awkward with romance, even if they try to act like they’re not. So you have to take the lead with a lot of things, you’re definitely the more “dominant” one in the relationship. I could not think of another word just deal with it.

- constant bickering between the two, however it’s easy to tell it’s friendly. The two are very different but very similar. They have different attempts at romance but very similar wants and needs.

- their friends make a constant effort to hang out with either just Dave or just karkat, never both. Because holy shit do they just talk to eachother for hours about the cute shit you do throughout the day.

- they both pay close attention to you, if that wasn’t obvious. Dave stares for a long time and you never notice due to his shades but if you look in his direction his entire face goes red, while karkat is just shameless about it and turns his head in the opposite direction if you look back at him.

- the two rarely ever want to leave the house for anything that isn’t grocery shopping or buying something related to the house, like a new toilet or something because god knows the house is always falling apart thanks to these two idiots.

- however they’d never say no to you if you wanted to leave, but they cannot guarantee they’ll have fun or won’t complain lol.

- sometimes both boys don’t know when to give you space so please just be upfront with them about it

- this also means when it comes to your boundaries cuz Dave seriously doesn’t have any and Karkat does have his own and constantly yells at Dave for being like that ;(

- but they love you very much and it’s very obvious
