-A new face popped up, greeting you brightly, “Hello there little one, who are you?” You knew that this was Anubis, but he was someone you didn’t personally know.

-Despite being so bubbly and open with others, when faced with this new person, you surprised Anubis by stepping behind Lu Bu, peeking out from behind him, holding onto the leg of his pants.

-Anubis clutched his chest, quickly falling to his knees, overwhelmed by your cuteness, “So cute!!” Odin rolled his eye lightly, as you were still holding onto Lu Bu, but out a bit as Anubis offered you his hand, and soon you were smiling, being so warm and bubbly with him.

-Odin couldn’t help but smile, seeing you looking so happy, as the meeting was late to get started, as everyone wanted to greet you, wanting to experience your adorable cuteness for themselves.

-By the time the meeting started, you were sitting in Odin’s lap, fast asleep, a small smile on your face, content with seeing all your friends, both new and old.

-Odin glared at those getting loud, silently threatening them with harm if they woke you up. He was such a good papa to you.

To be honest, Lu bu wasn't expecting to have a daughter. Not that it is a bad thing, just unexpected.

Many of his soldiers, allies and everyone he knew, thought he would have a son. But the thought of Lu Bu having a daughter does sound interesting...

He becomes very protective and cautious of her at a young age. Keyword on the very.

He makes sure none of the military equipment ever reaches her sight, as she would see it as a toy to play with.

He also ensures none of his soldiers ever have the chance to propose to his daughter, not even the thought of proposing to her will be permitted. (Told you so.)

As he makes sure everything is alright, he personally teaches her about how to be strategic in certain situations.

With these little lessons, he bonds with her and always smiles when she trys to mimic his voice. 😭

Chen Gong also helps just in case the two of you aren't around.

He leaves the "she needs manners" training up to you. (What did you expect?)

When she grows up, she's as beautiful as ever, but can be cunning when she needs to be.

She eventually gets bombarded with marriage proposals left, right and center. (Lu Bu does not approve.)

time to introduce my favorite female character in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Diao Chan!

She was just a maid in the house of a minister. She watches the world fall apart around her and asks the minister if there is anything she could do to help her country, anything at all?

The minister invites her to his secret meeting room, asks her to take the superior seat, and formally bows to her, because he is about to ask her to sacrifice her reputation and dignity for a political mission.

She is to become his adopted daughter and use her new status to seduce both Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo, play their jealousy and manly honor against each other, and make them hate each other.

I will do it, she says. And they bow to each other, as equals, to seal their pact.

She succeeds. She seduces Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo. She cleverly tells Lu Bu how Dong Zhuo had taken her from him, and thus violated him by violating her, disrespected his honor by dishonoring her. She tells Dong Zhuo how Lu Bu lusts after her without respect for his authority, threatening her modesty and thus violating his trust, vying to take what belongs to him. She plays their patriarchal hubris against each other, sows distrust and a deep sense of betrayal between them, that eventually boils over into murder.

After Lu Bu kills Dong Zhuo, she leaves quickly and quietly in a carriage, retreating from the story having done her part for her country, and rides off into an uncertain future.

He wasn't surprised to hear you killed a few minor god he supports violence was pretty sure you had a reason " she was in a silly mood your honor ", Qin adores how you're pretty much a two sided coin. On one side you're the sweetest being he could ever ask for, and on the flip side you're a little ball of murder.

SASAKI who mostly likes goofing around with you, you're like a niece he didn't have. You're interested in his odd stories and that's more then enough for him. Sasaki understands being nice but having a backbone to defend yourself, he's like that as well.

TESLA who thinks you're from another universe, we all know he doesn't believe in magic. But he thinks you're a guardian from another universe. He adores info dumping on you about the "evolution of humanity" no matter if you understand it or not. He adores your sweet persona and how even if you're the nicest person known to man you don't let anyone step over you. Jack still treats you like a lady, he's by no means used to being treated with such kindness and thus sometimes appears to be awkward. He can tell you have no ill intentions, your color is one of his favorites.

RAIDEN who cheers on when you fight, he loves strong women, both romantically and platonically, if Thrud is his love then you're his unofficial daughter, he adores that you're a sweetheart that can pack a punch if needed. He's an enabler for both good and bad stuff, so kinda trust him. You'll be fine..in some cases.

OKITA who's your enabler for violence, we ALL saw how blood thirsty he is. Okita doesn't really care, you're his fighting buddy and was smiling ear to ear when he heard you killed some minor gods, they were bad gods no? Then it's fine, they didn't need to live anyways.

ADAM who also finds you amusing and somewhat ironic, I mean...a devil child and redemption? But he knows to not judge a book by its cover, he still finds it funny though. He also finds ironic that the "half daughter of the devil" is the kinder then any "benevolent" god in that audience.

LU BU who is now acts as your semi defender, he takes "she was in a silly mood" to the max. Lu Bu is violent by mature and very much judges a book by its cover, he saw how sweet you were and decided you were weak. And then you murked a few minor gods because "I don't like how they talk". He feels neutral about the whole " I believe humans can be redeemed".

LEONIDAS who's another violence enabler, he's the spartan king what do you expect? Leonidas says you would've been a "great spartan" and adores your kind little self. He lifted you in the air and cheered when he heard about you killing off random insignificant gods.

Instead of coworkers all the sinners are in a consensual polyamorous queerplatonic relationship. Meursault has become french. Instead of Hells Chicken the first interval is now called Pronoun Chicken. Heathcliff is now a butch lesbian. Instead of going to different districts the sinners now go to different drag queens shows in search for rainbow boughs. Hong Lu. Vergilius and Dante are both non binary and dating and have adopted Charon as their daughter, and she is also non binary. When you download the game, you need to prove you're not a cisgender straight white man, if you are, the sinners immediately appear in front of your house and they beat you up.

The Stranger and my thoughts on where each LCB Sinner is at (Long)

Hey, I actually sat down and read L'etranger, Meursault's source novel. I've got some fucking feelings about it, especially relating it to Limbus Company and what it might mean for his Canto in like 2 years.

Firstly, you should read or listen to this book. It's short, surprisingly punchy, and easy to follow. I (probably) don't have autism but I can absolutely see a read of this where the character does or is neurodivergent in some other way; beyond his relationship and evaluation of social queues and norms he also seems to deal with sensory issues. There are better people than me who should talk about this and I'm probably not adding a lot to the conversation but keeping this reading in my head for the climax added an extra layer of discomfort (intentional discomfort for the benefit of the story's message, I should say) to the whole book. But It's worth experiencing even if you disagree with that reading or have a different one.

Limbus Brainrot/Spoiler stuff from here on in.

There's always the question of where exactly each Sinner is in their story as they're on the bus. Their stories have been reinterpreted and/or jumbled in ways that make it fun to guess, so to go over each Sinner and where they are based on what we know or my theories:

Yi Sang - I'm not gonna front, I don't really get The WIngs, but this seems like a Good End AU for him. He already escaped his "Wife's" control and the sunless room and is now flying again (metaphorically, or maybe literally? i dont know help me).

Faust - Likely in the middle of the part where she's using Mephistopheles' power to do good in the world and prior to her being damned to hell. Side note, she's last to get a Canto and I bet it's not a coincidence that (afaik) she and Dante are the only two with Hell in their stories directly. My long shot call is that Faust is also Beatrice and there will be so much DantexFaust ship art in 2026.

Don Quixote - The biggest enigma. La Sangre de Sancho has gripped the imagination of the fandom and I am no exception. She's next after Heathcliff so we'll get her some time in August at the latest and I can't wait. My best guess is she's currently gallivanting and will be forced home in her Canto, assuming Don is Sancho theory isn't true. Praying her Canto is called The Impossible.

Ryoshu - In Hell Screen, the reason the painter is obsessed with torture is that he can only paint what he has seen and is trying to paint the Buddhist Hell. In his quest for his art he destroys his life and those around him, and ends up committing suicide over it. But there is a villain in the form of the Lord who beyond driving the story by requesting the screen in the first place is guilty of SA and murder. I'm expecting we're post story; the Lord is related to the five fingers, the daughter might be recast as a friend or something, and the sword Ryoshu carries is likely the screen. Nothing revolutionary in my guesses here, but it's either going to be that straight-forward or insanely abstract, where she's the lord and the painter and the daughter and the screen and the sword is the monkey or some shit.

Hong Lu - I have not yet read Dream of a Red Chamber, it's next on the list. Forgive me!

Heathcliff - Oh boy. Like many, I expect he is post-spurning by Catherine and is on his journey for his fortune on the LCB. So, his Canto will be about coming home to a beloved who is with someone else. Yes, the beloved blorbo will suffer for my amusement. Let's go 3 hours Heathmael sex scene!

Ishmael - We now know her story already kinda happened, as many expected, making this a bizarre sequel to Moby Dick. I think it gave PM a lot of room to do whatever they wanted to while still sticking to the themes of the story. Already wrote about what I loved about this and the recontextualizing of Ahab as a whale unto herself (which I don't actually know if it's in the original novel, but it wouldn't surprise me).

Rodion - A weird one. Her inciting incident happened, the murdering of the landlord/pawnbroker, but the unintentional death of the innocent sister was shifted to the entire damn block. So if I had to guess she's in the period after her crime trying to avoid being caught, but no police officer allegory has really been introduced yet. I read Crime and Punishment years ago so I can't say for certain but it feels the most loosely adapted and suffers a tad for being part of the intro. Rodya's story is in no way finished so it's up in the air. Praying for a Petrovich just so people can meet the OG Columbo.

Sinclair - Still need to read Demian, but I have a rough understanding of the plot. Also unfinished in his story, Sinclair has a long way to go to his self-realization. This feels more intentional however, I remember someone made an observation of Cinqlair as representative of his drunken college years where he's popular but unfulfilled, and I think we can extend that to all of his IDs. He seems to have the most potential of all the Sinners, so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mirror world where he's a Color unto himself. I digress, the point is he's pre Frau Eva (who if she turn's out to be the Purple Tear I will lose my mind) who is also called Beatrice at some point so what's up with that PM?

Outis - Another big mystery, especially as she isn't Odysseus but Outis, a name referencing a particular part of the Odyssey with the Cyclops. I have to imagine she's on the Odyssey, journeying home after the Smoke War (which might have some parallels with the Trojan War beyond the obvious). It's interesting all the Greek myth named Abnormalities are Hospital themed, might be something there but nothing I can parse from my limited knowledge of Greek society and folklore. While she' might be a traitor, I'm thinking she's joined Limbus Company to hide while on her journey; she might be wanted dead by something and is concealing her identity after what happened in the war.

Greg - Again, a character post-story. He was locked in a room, he metamorphized, and... well he's alive? So we've diverged from the source novel, as it's taken the allegorical meanings and made them more literal, but Hermann is still around and a major player so who knows where this will go?

Meursault - I have so many thoughts. Meursault could be anywhere in his story, but I'm going to guess it's one of two places. First guess, we're completely pre story. His Canto opens with him getting a message that Maman died today, or maybe yesterday, he doesn't know. So the whole story plays out over the course of the Canto. But more likely, and my prediction, is that he's currently in "jail" awaiting his execution or acquittal. He has already murdered a man (or done some other crime) and instead of being tried for that, he has been tried and sentenced for his peculiarities of character. Bound in the chains of others, the multitudes have tightened their hold (I'm very clever and not cringe at all).

So I have to wonder what light blinded him, overwhelmed him so much that it led to his crime? The Bright Nights and Dark Days are an obvious choice, and I'm not the first to suggest it. Perhaps he distorted? Anyway, his story ends with him having given up on acquittal and instead hoping for a crowd of people hating him as he approaches the guillotine. I'm super interested in how this will play out in Limbus, especially as he must survive for gameplay purposes.

Also, Meursault is so horny. Like, oh my god. Half of his thoughts are of Marie, specifically of wanting her and all the connotations that contains. He spurns God in the face of a Chaplain, saying that He is worth nothing compared to a single hair on a woman's head. Meursault is not a romantic but not just some horndog either, his desire for sex and women and their bodies feels like an extension of his worldview centered on the immediacy of life and not just debauchery or hedonism. It's a part of the idea life is lived as today, yesterday, and tomorrow, and there is joy and happiness in that simplicity. I feel like this will get cut for Limbus but I hope it isn't, I want Meursault to casually admit he desires every Sinner on the bus carnally (yes the men and NB too, probably just a HC but I do believe that the City is a binormative society based on its already loose relationship to gender identity).

So uh, that's the thoughts so far. Merry Christmas, I guess.

I was thinking of baby Percy AU again and just thought of what would happen if Poseidon just… lost her in Valhalla. There was an emergency meeting, he forgot babies shouldn’t be left alone. Left unsupervised, Percy promptly toddled off towards the sunset (the human side of Valhalla) and gets lost amongst the masses. The encounters I’m picturing:

Leonidas chilling in his hammock, reading his book and drinking his wine only to reach down (to get a refill) and grab a baby instead of a bottle. There’s a baby lost in the Sparta training grounds and this man is panicking.

Adam eating his grapes with his family only for his ears to pick up the unmistakable sound of a baby babbling nonsense. He stands immediately and, without saying a single word to his wife or sons, just runs off and comes back cradling a giggling baby which he promptly places on his lap while saying ‘our daughter now’. His family only nods and goes back to what they were doing, as if this is completely normal (it probably is)

Nikola Tesla finds a baby playing among the detritus of his last failed experiment and decides he has found a new student to teach the art of Science(tm) to. She can’t even speak yet? No matter! It’s never too early to learn! Besides, don’t you know babies’ brains are like sponges?? He can teach her so much!

Sasaki Kojiro is out there in the wilderness, becoming one with nature (or whatever it is that he does when he’s not training - is there a time when that man ever stopped?) only to all but trip over a baby lost in the woods. What does a man who only has swords in his mind do?? Why, hand her a stick and teach her how to swing it.

(Almost predictably, Lu Bu does the exact same thing except they meet on the edge of a cliff and he tells her to aim at the sky)

Qin Shi Huang finds a baby blocking his path and instead of doing something normal (like stopping to make sure she’s alright, look around for the parents maybe), simply picks her up, at once recognizes her as a princess (royalty recognizes royalty) and continues on his merry way (he’s heading towards his adoptive mom’s house to show off the new subject/little sister he picked up on the way - he’s gonna teach her everything she needs to know about ruling).

Raiden finds baby Percy in a restaurant - specifically, he finds her well-fed round little body sitting inside a (now empty) plater she had crawled inside of when no one was looking. Raiden orders another plate and the two enjoy a very pleasant lunch together before he takes her back to the sumo training area so she can watch him wrestle everyone into the ground. Percy’s clapping the whole time.

Jack finds her lost and whimpering while skulking around in dark alleyways and, being the gentleman he is, immediately kneels down to offer her a handkerchief, picking her up and looking around for any sign of the parents (lmao, just realized he’s the only one in this list alongside Leo who’s going to make his top priority be finding Percy’s guardian first)

Meanwhile, at the god’s side of Valhalla:

Hades: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LOST HER.

Poseidon: I told her to stay put.

Hades: SHE’S A BABY POSEIDON.

Poseidon: And? I was a baby once too and followed orders perfectly.

Chapter Six: Duties

~Third Person POV~

The moment I walk into the hut, I'm aware of the dire situation I'm in. I look across the hut my heart sinking. Mother is sitting crossed legged on a mat, grounding away some herbs. The scent wafted throughout the air, it felt familiar. I immediately recognized it was from a particular plant. We used it for wounds.

"Where were you" she speaks uncharacteristically calm, sensing my presence behind her.

I shuffle from foot to foot feeling nervous. "I was following my duties, I was with Tsireya and the Sull-" before I could finish my mother turns around, her eyes filled with fury as she gets up, hurriedly walking towards my cowardly figure.

For someone so close to giving birth, she knew how to move fast. She glares down at me, her teeth baring threateningly.

"Your duty?? YOUR DUTIES???" she screams making me flinch. I wouldn't dare to look into her eyes right now, I quickly look down, my ears flattening at her vicious words.

There is no doubt, all of Awa'atlu heard her scream. "Your 'Duties' are to your people. Not to the Sully's!" She hisses at me; I couldn't remember the last time my mother was this furious with me.

I knew she disliked the Omatikayan's, but her to get this angry over me helping them, is slightly uncalled for.

"I-I'm sorry mother but they needed help, and father assigned me to partake in their trainings" I say quietly, still looking down in sadness, my ears twitch slightly picking up the sound of footsteps coming near our Marui.

"No excuses-" she seethes

“Bu-”

"-No excuses!!! You were supposed to prepare for the test. You've let me down, your people down and most importantly you let yourself down. For what? T-Those demons?!" she says making me feel myself crumble. I knew where my duties lay, I knew what my responsibilities are but I couldn't just leave them.

Just as I'm about to reply father and Ao'nung walk in, as it was their steps I had heard earlier.

"Ronal.." father says seeing the scene in front of him, I must have looked pathetic, my head low as mother loomed over me. I hear someone step forward and wrap an arm around my shoulder, from his scent alone I could tell it was Ao'nung, he was trying to comfort me.

"Where were you??" she asks looking between Ao'nung and father, father sighs setting down a bag with a thump. "I just finished some training with father, we were then able to hunt a bit afterwards" Ao'nung responds. I get the courage to finally look up at Ao'nung, he gives me a playful side glance that makes my mood lift, a little.

"Y/N missed her test today, you promised their duties would not be effected Tonowari. What now!" Ronal argues, turning to father fully. I open my mouth to respond, I didn't want mother to blame father. It was my fault , I lost track of time, it didn't help that the sudden vision I had caught me off guard.

I will have to let Ao'nung and Tsireya know of this when I get time.

"Its only been one day Ronal. I'm  sure Y/N is very sorry for missing it" Tonowari sighs out walking into the Marui and towards his mat. Mother looks at me menacingly.

"I-I'm sorry! I lost track of time. It's all on me" I stutter out, feeling Ao'nung squeeze my shoulder as I tried to stand my ground.

Mother quiets down, looking away only to walk towards father. I let out a deep breath, maybe I was off the hook.

"Should have left when I told you, huh?" Ao'nung whispers against my ears, making it feel ticklish. I send him a playful glare as a warning.

"You may have left at the right time, but you didn't even teach them properly" I tease making Ao'nung let me go, shoving against me playfully. "oh shush, I taught the older one" he says proudly making me scoff.

I turn around hearing Tsireya walk into the hut, she takes notice of the slight tension in the air as she looks at me worriedly. I smile back, making her relax a bit.

"What you've down today will not go unpunished Y/N" mother pipes up suddenly her voice ice cold. Ao'nung, Tsireya and I freeze in our spots. 'I'm screwed' I think to myself looking at mother, waiting for her to lay it on me.

Turning around mother lets out a huge sign of disappointment. "You'll be finishing off the remaining duties you had planned for today, after which you will catch dinner. I don't care how late it gets. Get it done" she says sternly. I see Ao'nung open his mouth to protest back but mother silences him by putting her hand up.

I nod back leaving the Marui my head hung low. Once I'm a few feet away I look up, the sun had almost fully set, letting out a sign I stretch, feeling my limbs crack.

"Time to get to work"

~Time skip and Third Person POV~

"Good job! Thank you Atan!!" Y/N squeals in joy packing the extra fish the Iiu had caught, into her woven basket. After she had finished her tedious duties she had grabbed her spear and basket to grab dinner for the family. She knew they didn't need it as Tonowari and Ao'nung had already hunted for food earlier that day but this was a part of her punishment. She had to follow through.

Ignoring the aches and pain that spread throughout her body, she looks at what she's caught so far. She was able to get many clams and oysters, which she knew her siblings loved.

It was mid way when Atan came swimming to her, he ended up aiding the girl in getting many fish for her, much to her delight.

"This is so much!" she says excited. This would last their family a while and she couldn't wait to share it with the clan, possibly even the Sully's, if Ronal allowed. Y/N finished packing everything in the basket and the net bag as she swam to her Iiu, she hands him the largest fish which he swallows down happily.

Giggling Y/N nuzzles his face thankful for his help "I best get going sweet boy, I'll see you tomorrow" she whispers, pecking his forehead as he squeals in joy. She swims to shore grabbing her bag and basket along with her spear. She stumbled a little at the weight of everything together as she trudges her way towards her family  Marui.

"Nice catch Y/N!" she hears a Male Na'vi call from a good few feet away, she waves at him enthusiastically. "Thank you!" she says continuing her route home. She smiled softly to herself, proud of her people acknowledging her. It seemed for the longest time they were afraid of her, called her a freak and shunned her out due to her being unique.

But her hard work over years had paid off.

Struggling past the entrance Y/N  successfully lets herself in, Ao'nung sat closest to the entrance, sharpening his spear head. Hearing Y/N grunt, he is quick to get on his feet and grab the basket from her hands and setting it down with ease. As if it weighed nothing. Y/N whispers a quick thanks before placing her bag and spear down as well.

"Wow, Y/N you outdid yourself!" Tsireya squeals seeing her favorite clams in display. Ronal comes out from their part of the hut, Tonowari hot on her tail, her eyes widen slightly before letting Tonowari pass. Ao'nung rustles Y/N's hair, messing it up.

"Who helped you huh?? You expect me to believe my baby sister caught all this by herself?!" he says teasingly, but secretly proud. Y/N chuckles "Atan, mainly with the fish." she admits as Ronal inspects the seafood. "Good" she mutters sitting down with Tsireya to sort through the haul.

"I'm so proud of you dear. You've done more then enough! We should share it with the clan, even the Sully's" Tonowari exclaims his eyes clouded with happiness,  he totally misses Ronal's death glare at the mention of the Sully's.

Ao'nung stiffens at the mention of their name as well, Y/N smiles wide,  her eyes on her father for further instruction. She seemed to forget her aches and pain at the mention of them.

Tonowari glances at his wife who simply scoffs, looking away as her answer, Tonowari turns to Y/N. "Drop off some clams, oyster and fish. Tell them you've caught it, its something to be proud of!" Tonowari encourages much to Ao'nung's dismay.

Ao’nung already hated the thought of the Sully's, he hated how his sister's, Y/N mainly, had to spend time to train them. Now she was tasked to drop off food this late at night?

Ao'nung didn't like how the  brothers, especially how Neteyam, would look at  Y/N. The way his gaze would fixate onto her, never wavering. It was not a good sign, he knew this because it was the way he would sometimes stare at her from time to time. It held desire.

"F-father, I'll deliver the food" he says causing even Tsireya to look up, in between her snack. Ao'nung, like his mother showed open distaste towards the family. Now that he was offering to deliver something, it seemed too out of the blue. Tonowari's  gaze narrows slightly, confused at his eldest's request.

"Y/N has caught all this. She'll go. Tsireya-" Tonowari calls making the startled girl jump at her name being called. Dropping her half eaten clam.

"-you'll assist Y/N. Take enough for their family" he urges. Y/N beams as she gets started on a basket, loading it with enough seafood. She makes sure to take extra shucking knives.

She gets up nodding her head towards her parents before following Tsireya out. Once the girls have left Ronal turns to Tonowari her glare prominent as usual. "With how much you care for them, they better not bring any harm to our people. Especially my children" she states before heading inside to their separate part of the Marui.

Ao'nung sighs, sitting back down. He begins sharpening his spear again, with anger fueling his actions.

Tsireya giggles as they walk towards the Sully's hut. Y/N raises an eye brow at confusion. "What is it?" she asks making her sister turn to her smiling mischievously.

"Nothing, just you haven't stopped smiling"

"Kiri?" Neteyam whispers, the Sully's were all relaxing in their hut, Neytiri accompanied Tuk while she braided her hair, Jake watching not too far away. Lo'ak sat outside at the moment in his own thoughts.

Neteyam approached Kiri who is wrapped up in her shawl, looking glum. "Yes?" She questions looking to her older brother who couches down to her level. "How are you feeling?" he asks, feeling her lean on his shoulder. She lets out a lengthy sigh making Neteyam furrow his eyes. "I miss home" she whispers, not wanting Jake to hear.

She knew this had been a major decision to come all the way out here for refuge, a decision that she knew her father felt guilty about, the last thing she would want is for him to feel more guilty over her feelings. Neteyam nods, interlocking his hand with hers squeezing it reassuringly, "I want to go home as well...but this is for our safety. Our families safety" he says, as if he was trying to reassure himself. Kiri sighs fiddling with her shawl.

"Do you think they'll find us...Here? Do you think S-Spider is ok?" she asks, her voice shaking at her friends name. Neteyam's jaws clench, "I pray to Eywa they don't-" he says feeling a pang of fear surge through him. What if they did find them? All the Metkayina's would be in danger, including Y/N.

Shaking his head,  he continues on.

"-Spider is a strong kid. He'll be putting up a fight. I know it, he's just like Lo'ak" he says trying to ease his sister's underlining panic. Kiri chuckles, looking at Neteyam, "You know. I hate it here, but the sea is so....majestic. It's calming me down greatly" she admits, smiling.

This made Neteyam's heart soar with happiness, he wanted to see her smile. He wanted to all of his family members to be happy. "I'm glad" he mummers looking across the hut seeing Tuk squeal, jumping up and down at her braids. "You know" Kiri continues bringing his attention back to her. "I also really like Y/N." she says her eyes taking in how her brother reacts.

Neteyam feels his body stiffen at the mention of her name, his heart rate picking up as well. Kiri smirks slightly, "Do you?" she inquires to which Neteyam has to clear his throat, feeling a lump forming.

"O-Of course. she treats us normally and she is kind to Tuk" he says avoiding eye contact with Kiri. He finds himself feeling giddy thinking about her, feelings he was still very confused over. Remembering what happened earlier Neteyam turns fully to Kiri, choosing to hold her palms looking at her with serious eyes.

"Kiri, what happened earlier?" he asks, making her quirk an eyebrow in question.

"When Y/N was freaking about her missing lesson. You looked scared, not in a normal way" he further presses. Realization seems to dawn on Kiri and she looks away. Was it her place to say? She wonders feeling conflicted. Neteyam was the best, thoughtful and caring older brother anyone could ask for. Telling him would just insure he would also look out for Y/N, right?

Taking a deep breath in Kiri looks at Neteyam who was patiently waiting. "When Y/N came to look for me earlier-" she begins seeing Neteyam lean in, focusing on every word that left her mouth. "-Y/N, passed out" she whispers, not wanting to be heard. Neteyam's eyes nearly bulge out of his head. "W-What!?-" he says, a little too loudly before Kiri covers his mouth.

"Shh skxawng! Just listen-" she says as he nods frantically under her palm. She lets go continuing. "It was scary Neteyam, one second we are marveling at the sea together and the next she passes out. She became so still, if I hadn't held her she would have drowned." she says softly, fear still itched within her. "-I tried to wake her but she stayed like that, unmoving. After when she woke up, she shook it off like it was nothing! She said it was a heat stroke but...I knew it was something else. It wasn't normal" Kiri trails off.

Neteyam who has been quiet the entire time speaks up, his voice soft. "Was it like...when you" he trails off. Getting the message Kiri shakes her head. "It's kind of like that. I just zone out to the nature around me. But Y/N, she was whispering things I couldn't hear. It was like she was in a trance of some sort. I was...scared for her" she explains making Neteyam frown.

"That's why you were so worried back there, you thought she would pass out again" he states knowingly. He smiles at his sister, gently stroking her head affectionately. "Thanks to you Kiri, she is Alright. You did a great thing" he says making the younger girl beam at his words.

"You sure do care a lot about Y/-" Kiri gets cut of when Lo'ak rush's into the hut, with a flushed face.

"Y/N and Tsireya are here" he says gesturing for two girls to walk in. Neteyam stands up seeing Tsireya walk in, Y/N hot on her tail.

The girls greet Jake and Neytiri setting the baskets down, filled with seafood. Neteyam walks towards them Kiri following , he felt a little relieved being able to see Y/N, after what he heard from Kiri a deep worry had began to nag the older Na'vi.

Seeing her in their family hut, smiling at them made him feel at ease. He was calm knowing she is safe.

"Is this all for us?" Jake asks as Tuk sits beside the baskets to inspect the contents.

"Yes! Y/N caught all these. She caught so much father wanted to share" Tsireya explains. Neteyam's eyes widen looking between the baskets and Y/N. No wonder she had tiny scratches littering her delicate body. She must have worked hard.

Lo'ak beams with joy as he too sits beside Tuk, picking up a clam to inspect it. "That is amazing Y/N. Thank you for sharing with us" Neytiri praises helping Tuk with the food.

"That's amazing, catching this all by yourself" Neteyam blurts out making eye contact with Y/N, she seems to flush at his words scratching her neck in embarrassment.

"Its not much. I hope you enjoy" Y/N says softly. Tsireya holds her sister's hand turning to the family. "We should get going, we have to help mother with dinner preparations" Tsireya reminds Y/N as she reluctantly begins to follow her sister. "Wait!" Lo'ak calls, making everyone including his family turn to him.

"How do we eat these?" he asks holding up a clam and a oyster. Y/N laughs at his confused face but quiets down seeing the entire family look at the mollusca in wonder.

"Haven't you ever had them before?" Y/N asks, the Sully's collectively answering a no. Tsireya looks at her sister and at the Sully's, thinking things through she clasps her hands together.

"Y/N will show you how to open them and process them. I'll let mother and father know she'll be a bit late for dinner" Tsireya says sending a wink towards Y/N before exiting the hut.

Y/N walks to Lo'ak and Neytiri crouching down to their level. she retrieves one of many shucking knives and she grabs the clam nearest to her.

"It's super simple, are you guys ready?"

After showing Neytiri and the rest how to shuck the clams and oyster's, Neytiri began to cook them. They didn't mind eating them raw but Neytiri seemed to be wanting to use the spices she brought with her from home. The smell alone smelt heavenly, as Kiri aided her mother. Y/N sat beside Tuk who was trying to open a clam herself. The older female giggling at Tuk's frustration.

Neteyam takes this opportunity to sit beside Y/N as she turns to him. "How am I doing?" he asks holding out the successfully opened clam. Y/N smiles wide. "You're doing great! You're a fast learner. It's a perfect cut!" she praises.

Lo'ak, who was sitting near Jake right now helping him tie a bag frowns at this.

"Thank you, I have a great teacher" he says glancing at her face. She looks into his eyes, almost getting lost in the rich yellow hues. She couldn't seem to get over how unique they were, she's never seen anything like it. It made her stare at awe.

"Look! I did it!" Tuk says excitedly. Y/N quickly inspects it the opened clam. "That's amazing Tuk! show your mother!" she encourages as the little girl rushes to her mother, holding the clam up in the air, proud of what she had accomplished.

Y/N smiles fondly at the little girl. She began to wonder how life would be like when her new baby sister/brother would be born. Neteyam gazes at her from his position beside her. Clearing his throat to gain her attention as he holds her gaze. "I forgot to thank you" he says softly, Y/N gives him a confused look as he clarifies.

"I wanted to thank you for standing up for my family when you did. If it weren't for you we wouldn't have a place to call home right now...So, thank you" Y/N's eyes widen at his words. "You don't have to thank me" she says placing her hand comfortably over his.

Neteyam welcomes the warmth, taking her hand into his. They felt perfect, it was as if her hand was made for him to hold on to. Made perfectly to fit within his hands.

"But I do, you saved us. In many ways" he mummers looking down at her. He didn't know if he was being delusional but it seemed as though her eyes glittered in the dimmed lighting.

Y/N is about to respond when she realizes she had to be home for dinner, she couldn't be late twice in one day. She would be skinned alive!

Standing up suddenly she turns to the family. "Thank you for letting me stay but I should get going!" she says sending a quick worried glance to Neteyam before walking to the exit.

"W-wait!" Neytiri calls catching up to her before she leaves. "Thank you, for all your help Y/N. The food is wonderful" she says gently placing the shucking knifes into the girls hand. "Oh no, they are for you. You'll need them." she says as Neytiri gratefully accepts the knifes.

"You're gong alone?" Jake pipes up once Neytiri has left the girls side.

She nods making the man frown. "Neteyam will take you" he says sternly, leaving no room for argument. Lo'ak goes to oppose the idea but the harsh stare his father sent him was enough for him to quiet down.

"Y/N" Neteyam calls softy, grateful his father chose him. "Lets go" he says following the girl out, Y/N nods to the family before following Neteyam out. The walk begin peacefully as their steps were slow, as though they didn't want the stroll to end.

"We never got around to the sign language" Neteyam says breaking the silence. Y/N shrugs looking forward. Not trusting herself to stare at Neteyam under moonlight. "I can teach you guys, Tsireya mentioned lessons tomorrow at the same time as today right?" Y/N confirms making Neteyam sigh out.

"Yes, but I kind of wanted...private lessons" he whispers catching the H/C girl off guard. She peers up at him to see him already staring at her waiting for a response. Ignoring the lump forming in her throat she opens her mouth.

"Private as in?"

"As in, just you and me" he says feeling nervous.

He didn't know where this sudden boost in confidence came from but he wasn't going to back down.  Though a small part of him was scared to be turned down.

Y/N giggles nodding. "Sure! When would you like them" she asks. Neteyam couldn't get enough of her unique eyes, the way they drew him in. He wanted to savor the feeling, making sure it never ended.

Hoping to pull off two miracles in a row he responds eagerly.

"Today...if you can?" he breathes back as they near her hut. Unbeknownst to them, a figure stood by the entrance watching the duo walking very close together.

"S-Sure, I know just the place...." Y/N mummers as Neteyam lets out a sigh of relief at her response.

"Meet me by the sand bank, after eclipse. After everyone's asleep" she says softly Neteyam nodding. He didn't trust his voice, he was worried it would crack out of nervousness.

"I'll see you then. Thank you for dropping me off" Y/N says quickly noticing the shadow that disappears from the entrance of her house.

"Sure, see you" Neteyam mumbles back as Y/N hurriedly rushes into the hut. Upon entry she see's everyone seated ready for dinner, she is confused as to who was standing near the entrance, watching her.

"Y/N, sit down. It's getting cold!" Tsireya squeals unable to wait any longer for the food. Y/N carefully sits down noticing her family seemed normal, no one seemed angry and even Ao'nung seemed way to focused on eating. Not giving it a second thought Y/N digs in, not noticing the stare she received from across the mat.

You ever see those grandparent videos where the parent brings their newborn into the house, without the grandparent knowing they were born yet? Imagine adult! Reader inviting everyone in and to their knowledge she hasn’t gone into labor yet but to their surprise the baby is right there.

Bonus points if it’s multiple babies like twins or triplets and the family had no idea until the reveal.

-Your family was waiting for you and your husband to arrive, it was the normal routine for Saturday, when you both would come over, there would be a big barbeque or meal, and you would get to spend time with the massive family you called your own.

-It had been a little difficult for you lately as you had been pregnant up until just a few days ago, but only Brunnhilde and Eve knew this, as you had called them, letting them know but asking them to keep it a secret, as you wanted to surprise everyone with your twins.

-They agreed to keep it quiet only if they got to hold the babies first, which you and your husband agreed to while trying not to laugh, the four of you plotting the surprise.

-You arrived quietly and Brunnhilde was waiting by the side door so you both could sneak in the back door to drop off your babies in a side room to get them ready, getting them out of their carriers.

-Eve told everyone else that you both were here, but when Loki spoke up after running to the door, wanting to get a hug first, he pouted when he saw neither of you there, “Where are they?” she just smiled warmly, “Y/N had to run to the bathroom.”

-They all nodded in understanding, as you were due any day now, as Hermes questioned, “Is it a good idea for her to be traveling right now?”

-Brunnhilde was recording before she gave you both the signal. Your husband walked out, holding your daughter, before you walked out, holding your son, “I’m fine.”

-Everyone turned, their eyes growing to the size of dinner plates, except for Eve and Brunnhilde as you grinned warmly as the house was shaking with screams and cries.

-Your daughter got a bit fussy at the sound, almost crying which made everyone hold their hands to their lips, silencing their cries as your husband rocked her.

-Your babies were being handed around, everyone enjoying the new additions to the family as you were relaxing, sitting curled up next to your husband who was grinning, recording now.

-Obnoxiously crying, unable to stop their tears as they held one or the other of your babies, unable to form any coherent words as they would look down at the baby, then to you, babbling nonsense while sniffling loudly, which made you giggle warmly.

life as she knew it had always been her and her mother. just them. a young, single mother who had to put everything she wanted aside for the sake of doing her best to give her daughter everything she's never had. her own mother, as sad as it is, never had an actual family of her own. no one to help her, guide her, or be by her side as she went through everything in life on her own.

it broke her heart to think that by association, luna would be forced to go through the same thing. there was no external family, no one who cared enough to want to be apart of their lives — not even the father. this was the life cards luna's mother had been dealt, but despite it all, she did her very best to make luna's life as fulfilling as she possibly could and as a result, the two grew a bond that had been so close, no one could break it.

flash forward. luna and her mother moved to west ham when luna was only ten years old and honestly, it's the first place that ever screamed home to them. the only place where luna not only saw her mother feeling more relaxed, building relationships of her own, but also for luna. she loved it here. everything about it, so of course, it meant that their college was the only place she wanted to go to. unlike most, she didn't care about anything outside of here. she wanted to travel as much as the next person, but she knew there would never be a place that made her feel the same way west ham did.

though, regardless of that, luna wanted to find her sense of identity that didn't revolve around her mother — as much as she loved her — and in order to do that, it was a choice to dorm at the university as opposed to being at home. it was a stepping stone to claiming her own independence and preparing herself for when she wouldn't be around her mother all day.

regardless, the two kept in contact nearly every day whether it was through facetime, calls, texts. simple check ins because at the end of the day, luna couldn't go longer than a week without doing so.

arriving back to a ghost town has been the toughest part of it all for luna. she's grateful she's not alone and has her friends, but her mother is the only person that lingers in her mom — choosing to stay home with hopes that one of these days, the familiar face she knows will walk through those doors again.
