Back in 2012 I launched my first company, where I advocated the need for regular and consistent Self-Care, Talk Therapy, Goals, and weekly #DatesWithYourself / #DatingYourself. I can still remember people laughing at the thought of dating yourself… until they started seeing the pictures and blog posts of the fun I got up to, from workshops, arts and crafts, and love letters to myself (you can check some out on my website in the Self Remembrance section).

Self-Care has become such a buzz word, with few knowing how to move the theoritical to actual actions and principles. So let’s practice what we post, and walk our talk, by doing the things that care for, nurture, rebalance, bring joy, promote peace, and nourish us.

Today I practiced being still and truly processing my thoughts by spending some time writing in my journal. Just me, a cup of my favourite herbs and warm water, phone on aeroplane mode with my favourite songs playing, surrounded by nature. My #EquilibriumTime and perfect #SelfCare.

Every now and then, get completely lost in your thoughts.

Write in a journal, draw a picture, doodle, mould, paint, create. Do something to bring thought into the material.

Go out into nature and recenter yourself, reenter yourself.

Self-Care is not Selfish or about detachment from others. It is an act of rebalancing, healing, and igniting yourself, so you can be better for yourself, and to those you give to.

One of the most beautiful things ever said to me when asking how I could help someone, was being told “Take care of yourself, for me” . So I say it to you too…

“Take care of yourself, for me” .

“Take care of yourself, for you”

“Take care of yourself, for them” .

With that said, I am wishing you a blessed and productive day ahead; one that truly exceeds all expectations.
