I was captivated by the idea that Spot was originally Tasha's cat (because we know she had an orange cat in the past, and we don't know where Spot came from so it's a logical conclusion), so I drew this. But I put Tasha in the newer uniform to imply that she doesn't die because canon is what I make of it and in MY mind Data, Tasha, and Spot get to live long lives full of joy and whimsy.

data was one of the last people I expected to be boinking in episode 2. but kudos to will and deanna for holding it together. will was doing pretty well in general with the infection and I really like him the most so far. (he is also so respectful towards data, I love that - I thought he was gonna be more like a young tom paris who was a little bratty and specifically objectifying women, but he seems like a great guy). in generations, it goes a little different but it seemed to be very consensual.

picard was absolutely hilarious when under the effects, his little bounces and nervous laughter, my dad and I laughed so hard. also beverly is so good looking. I almost forgot about it, but I randomly had a crush on gates mcfadden when I watched one of the tng movies many years ago and oh has it returned.

I think Tasha would refer to Data as her "partner" and people who don't know her would assume she means a woman, and then Data shows up and they're like "that's not your partner that's just some guy"

Headcanon:

After the Naked Now, Data finds a 24th century version of a “dating rulebook” shitpost. He follows it to the T, getting Tasha certain gifts and asking her certain questions based off it

She keeps pushing him away because she assumes he can’t understand human emotion like she can, which is in some way true

However, when she finds him outside her quarters, apologetic and wondering what he did wrong, with an “apology gift” in hand, she wonders if he knows more about human emotion than they give him credit 

She kisses him on the cheek, thanks him for the gift, and then says this doesn’t mean they’re exactly dating 

Data says the dating handbook had protocols for that, too 

She bids him goodnight, but is surprised to realize she’s excited to see what absurd thing he does next to try to “date” her

I’ve been trying to get used to Krita because I love the textures but the program is a little wonky to use without a keyboard. I sketched and lined this in Medibang and colored it in Krita, and I’m very happy with the result :] I did make a new brush preset in Krita that looks a whole lot like Medibang’s “Pencil (Rough)” which I always use for my lines, but I still haven’t streamlined my process in Krita, so it takes so much longer.

Tasha’s phaser got a little lost in the shadows, I think that’s my only regret here.

didn't expect tasha to leave so soon and definitely not to die! I thought the messages she gave to everyone were really emotional even though we saw very little of these connections fleshed out on screen. but when data asked about the reason for funerals, I got a little teary eyed :') once again, data eloquently summed up the human experience and it made the episode quite philosophical in the end. otherwise it wasn't the best thought out episode imo.

I really wonder if tasha/worf was planned, they had a little flirt going on for a few episodes now, if I remember correctly. anyway, so dumb that she left so early, I bet she regretted that later.

deanna and will have this ross and rachel thing going on that kind of annoys me at this point bc I know this will take many more seasons and even movies (!) before they finally end up together. but in general I like the idea of this boyfried-turned-best friend.

different point - I think it was pretty harsh to just leave the slimy oil dude there. what happened to starfleet values?
