I have been exposed to many different interpretations of d'Artagnan. Canadian d'Artagnan from one branch of the Psychonauts, d'Artagnan who is already in love with another boy and specifically asks Raz for help to save that boy, d'Artagnan who's jus Dib but Anti-Psychic, d'Artagnan the slug who wants to kill Raz and take back his role as the protagonist, d'Artagnans who have a history with Raz in the circus and go to find his friend...

d'Artagnan has a lot of non-constant story-telling in my brain, but most of the time it's a lot of semi-antagonistic rivalry that he holds against Raz. I want to see them as bros and competing, I want to see d'Artagnan as the twist villain of Psychonauts 3, I want to see him as a driving force. Unfortunately for the track record with love interests in the Psychonauts series, aside from Sasha and Milla (who are unconfirmed) and Donatella and Augustus (whose story mostly focused on Augustus), love interests are usually defined by who they're with. Lili is VERY defined by her relationship with Raz if not defined by her relationship with her dad. Ford retroactively becomes extremely defined by his relationship with Lucy (and that takes a lot away from his lore about being "the greatest leader the Psychonauts has ever known" and a lot more shadow against his relationship with Truman (that's another character essay for another day)). Bob's relationship with other people becomes soured at the loss of Helmut, and despite Truman trying to get Bob help, Bob completely refuses it + cuts out the rest of his friends who BTW lost the EXACT SAME PEOPLE. Doing that with d'Artagnan feels almost, idk... against what I've built him up to be in my brain is all.

d'Artagnan simultaneously has become very cemented in my brain with my friend's OC Mangrove "Manny" Zanotto, and alsowith his almost solo type thing he takes in my brain (Slug, PAWOL for a majority, Rival, Childhood friend...). Like if Raz is Sonic, then d'Artagnan is Shadow... or-or Surge. Surge specifically. Something about him just feels like Surge the Tenrec.

I'm such a fucking dumbass!! I have found two more and a very primitive idea (a note that is only like three words long so I will just list it and describe what I can remember below these two that have sketches)

I think I may have showed a little bit of Superhero firework axolotl Sun on 4th of July. Moon was going to be an anti-hero, and y/n was going to be a talented mutant that was choosing who they wanted to team up with.

Sun and Moon are supposed to be Stingless bee things. Y/n was going to be a pesky ant(that was kicked from their colony unfairly) that bothers the boys and tries to get in their hive to get honey. Sun and Moon normally don't have to worry about them because they use tree sap to coat their hive in sap that keeps ants at bay(this is actually something Stingless bees will do) But I think they end up learning about y/n situation and take them in.

Lastly, there was a poison dart frog au I was going to do. The only description I had was Poison Dartfrog Dca. I think y/n was an ranger or explorer, and they stumbled upon Sun and Moon. They were both gonna be gaint frog dude things. The two claim to be princes of some land that has been flooding for centuries. The land your exploring now. It's like a beauty and the beast sorta thing, as their subjects were turned into actual water/semi-aquatic creatures. Not humanoid or anything. Anyway, like beauty and the beast, they kidnap y/n and try to make them fall in love so the curse is lifted. But they learn that being a toxic piece of shit doesn't really make people like you very much. So they actually attempt to befriend y/n first. By the end, I don't think the curse is lifted, but I can't remember...
