I love the idea that Bruce takes the Batfam on hikes outside of Gotham, and puts up with the arguing over who goes in what car, packs everyone's favourite snacks, will race with the other car if enough passengers in his egg him on. Bruce generally stays ridicuously quiet while the kids jabber enough to alert everything living in the woods near them but will weigh in once the kids debate who's strong enough to wrestle a bear, chime in on unsolved hiker cases, build fires, and carry anyone that gets tired, all while sneaking awful pictures of them.

#One of the kids usually peels off the rest of the group and quietly joins him at the front #Bruce has to beg and plead that none of them climb stupidly #There was one funny occasion when Jason broke his ankle and Bruce carried him back (Jason was utterly unamused and annoyed)#Damian loves the hikes and informs them of every animal and plant in the vicinity (and pretended there were leeches once when Steph took a #dip in a lake)#Duke becomes the flashlight when it gets dark at everyone's insistence and has a phenomenal spooky story voice #Cass and Dick have silly contests to give Bruce heart attacks by going off trail and scaling the side of the mountain #Tim has to be pried off some technology and sunburns awfully even on cloudy days. He's also the only one ready for the ticks #Babs and Alfred join when the hikes are wheelchair accessible or take a more scenic drive up and meet them at the top/at campgrounds #dc comics #batman #bruce wayne #batfamily

#A Dark and Drowning Tide #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #I really loved this! so atmospheric and full of things I like. Love the characters and folklore and the creatures…..#I think it was well balanced between the plot worldbuilding and romance -#though if you’re not into any of the elements it might all fall flat for you. but I love all these things. so I had a good time.#I did feel like some parts of the narrative/character relationships went a bit fast and I wanted a little more detail in between?#Plus the ending wrapped up easier than I expected. I wanted to get to know the side characters a bit more #and a bit more of the backstory/leadup (how they all knew each other; sylvia’s time in the war??)#I also couldn’t stop thinking about how taxing the environments they’re in would be on their bodies/gear..aghjs you mght have seen my post #I was getting distracted from the plot thinking about it. Not to say that it mentioned at all and I’m aware too much would have taken #away from the story. Lets take it as an indication of just how lush and atmospheric the writing was. I was having flashbacks.#I put the book down three separate times to draft three separate fanarts.#but listen. you stick two lesbians in a forest/mountain/cave and put a couple Creatures in there too and I will eat that up #one thing I did note is that I don't recall any non-white characters? I may have missed a description.#I try to take notice if a book has an entirely white cast bc like....does it need to #sapphic books

Accidentally clicking QUIT instead on CONTINUE after finally reaching the top of Death Mountain in OOT

#sooooo...i kinda got wrapped into playing Ocarina for the first time #didn't think id enjoy it as much as I have #found out (truly a grand surprise ((sorry im putting sarcasm definer in the parenthesises..)) I like side quests #and when i say like em #I mean what's main game plot- i will literally COLLECT EVERYTHING given the oppurtunity before halfway point #im like...nearly to 30 gold sklltullas #and uhm..i like...i like learning the enviroments and RUSHING to get places before it gets too dark #oh boy i just thought i'd play it a little bit yesterday #got “in bed” around 9:30 and picked it up to play- it was 1 something in the morning before i stopped #then was like OH SHIT ive got work!#but theres such a joy and excitement of just scouring through everything out here #i dont know why- but i suppose the reputation of zelda games just made me feel like id have to slog through things?#or just like...take things really seriously and...i dunno...its this grand ONCE in a lifetime thing #maybe thats just the image ive gotten from passing youtube videos #the only other Zelda game I've finished before-played YEARs ago was Spirit Tracks and I very much enjoyed it #maybe because Zelda was actually part of it that time haaah #well ive run my mouth long enough im gonna go run back to the mountains

I always give the book to Teekus instead of Earana. And I wanted to steal the book back, and give it to her without anyone knowing. But the game forces you to tell her and she berates you. Like calm down girl, I got your book but I needed a recommendation from him.

The game punishes you for thinking outside the box.

I want to be a sneaky mage, damn it! I want to hide behind a corner before shooting someone in the face with a fireball spell. Or you know, steal a magical book and double cross the Argonian and Altmer. But oh well.

one au idea i think would be super funny is if shadow somehow figured out that vio was only pretending to be on his side so he could get information and kill him like. almost immediately. like instead of them having time to actually get attached to each other that whole thing is foiled before it starts. and so instead of shadow flying into a rage because of a betrayal instead he's like "y'know what fuck it i can do that too" and starts talking like this whenever vio fishes for information

#this is mostly for the sillies but i don't think it's that out of character considering. everything #i think it's made fairly clear that shadow was 0.2 seconds from either killing vio or tossing him out on his ass if vio proved weak or #not actually on the evil side. i.e. snapping at vio to knock it off with the glowing sword thing #and getting more and more annoyed as the battle with green on death mountain went on and it started to look like vio was losing #it was only after vio 'killed' green that shadow actually started to trust him. that's when he Actually got attached #everything prior to that was pretty much just him doing the classic 'ooooh yeah come to the dark side i'll Totally be your friend'#so if he'd found out that vio was faking it before death mountain i could very well see him being like #'well if that's how he wants to play it then i'll just out-play HIM'#and pull some shit like he did with their dad where he pretends to be something he's not (i.e. willing to switch sides) by like. playing up #the fact that he wants out from under ganon's thumb and then planning to stab THEM in the back when the #others show up and they all 'make friends' because. y'know. as proven by the end of the manga #it took the entirety of link about half a second to go from 'enemy' to 'FRIEND!!!!' concerning shadow.#and shadow. is a lonely little bastard. now that i've actually thought about it he would actually just get attached #to them all over again. nothing would really change. BUT WHATEVERRRRR FUNNY POST TIME #fsa #txt

6.5hr in the car was rough. But I'm all bundled in my beddie bye and I have the box fan going (so glad I thought to bring it) and the view outside the cabin is beautiful and I'm going ziplining tomorrow morning

It is time to sleep bundled like a rat in its bedding and then have a wonderful day tomorrow

#speculation nation #the rat comparison is quite apt because i bunched the blanket all up and set the pillows around me #bc it's a king size bed and i usually sleep on a twin and i felt like a small prey animal out on a slab #easy pickings for the great predators.#theres also a mirror facing the bed and it's kind of stressing me out (bc im scared of mirrors in the dark)#but im being SoBrave and sleeping in the total dark so i dont have to see it (and thus it doesnt exist)#(i dont use a nightlight at home but i do have a digital clock that's pretty bright so it's effectively a nightlight #& ive realized total darkness is a bit unsettling when im used to Some illumination. mostly bc i cant fuckin SEE)#so me with my normal twin size mattess pressed against the wall + elevated into the air (bc top bunk of bunk bed)#PLUS side railings. i really do sleep in a fuckin rectangle huh.#but here i am on a square with a big room all around me and no wall pressed to either side of the bed.#see im a little prey animal on a slab. but it's ok i made a burrow into the slab. so i am safe actually.#it's actually pretty damn comfortable. tho i really should sleep so im not too tired in the morning.#in general if im absent over this next week just assume im doing mountain things. 👍

#average normal thoughts on an average normal day #and then if you REALLY want to get crazy with it i always saw s4's spawn as a darker/cooler palette than the other spawns bc of its biome #(i think it's spruce? meadow? mountain? either way it's not plains like the others so it's a more muted grass)#so like if you squint there's that foreshadowing there #the medusa petrification didn't help with the dark aura s4 spawn had either #on a side note i really like s5's spawn it's really pretty (bias towards mesa biomes)#the jester speaks

I FUCKING WALKED 6.5 MILES IN ONE GO TODAY

#mud rambles #I'm still catsitting lmfao and because my tire AND rim is fucked and it's sunday i do not have a car!!!!#and i can't leave those cats unfed for an entire day!!!!#I was able to get a ride home but i wouldnt have been able to get a ride there in time and i was already not there as early as i wouldve lik #on the bright side. she is supposed to be home tmrw so i shouldnt have to do that again EL OH EL #i give credit mostly to the testosterone and my naturally large calves for being able 2 do that because.#this is not a normal thing i do. i dont work out consistently at all #im. like. it sucked i had to do that but also the fact i was able to makes me rlly proud #and getting to be outside and just walk was nice especially once i caught that second wind LMFAO #having to wait for. like two hours to be picked up kinda sucked but it was peaceful. it was just too cold and getting dark so i couldnt walk #all the way back home safely because the walk is. already not fucking safe lmfao and i was wearing ALL BLACK #yeah. not fucking chancing it #i had sidewalk literally for like. 300 FEET. MAYBE #like. I live in the fucking rural ass northeastern part of the appalachian mountains. we have main routes but it's still assfuck nowhere #i am not walking 6 and a half miles IN THE FUCKING DARK especially when we're in the middle of a warm front #we have coyotes and bears and while mountain lions arent typically in my area... it would be my fucking luck to get fucking murked by one #and like. deer may not be predators but. nepa. rural areas. NIGHT??? I am not chancing coming across something ELSE. ifykyk #anyway. i am home now. all is well. but goddamn i am having an eventful ass start to the fucking year huh

Man, I have such a clear image of like. The map of where one of my stories takes place, but if i even tried to put it to paper I'd fuck it up so badly

#like. there's this coastline that's kind of all juttery and stuff and it very gently dips inland down south but goes almost straight and #slightly outwards in the north and about midway along the coast in the east there's a little jut-out where there's a port #north of the port there's these steep cliff faces and down south they wear down into rolling hills and slim sandy shores #the east cape of the continent is up north just off the map by maybe 25000-27000 kilometers. west of the port there's the capital and north #of that is a small old mountain range #the capital is made up of limestone and brick buildings with 4 floors and a network of huge gears and weird pulley systems throughout. they #kind of look like they're almost leaning on each other and the further toward the edges of the town you go the more it looks like the city #home just sprouted in the middle of a storefront or an inn or something overnight #the town square is set up in the ruins of this ivory castle and taken up almost completely by stalls with colorful awnings. it has dark #cobblestone streets surrounding it and no pavements ending where the forged iron and brimstone walls of the administrative buildings'#front gardens begin or branching off further into the city down streets with pavement either side #there's a foundry on the edge of time by which most locals are employed. it has it's own dedicated train line which connects with the #station further south-east. the manors and estates outside of the city have lush forests and red brick walls closer to the residences of #workers and the nobles inhabiting the land #anyways. i'll probably workshop my beloved little steampunk city more later these are just like. notes to get down the image of it i have #in my head because it's so pretty. the stalls in the square look like colorful wild flowers from above <3 #boo rambles #unrelated
