The Hundred Year Darkness was a period of time in the Jedi Order’s ancient history. Also referred to as the Second Great Schism, it began as enterprising young Jedi began studying strange new Force techniques. As they began using the dark side to alter life itself, they were cast out of the Order, and began warring with the Jedi. After a century of conflict, the dark Jedi were defeated on Corbos. Gathered into colony ships and exiled, the survivors happened upon Korriban. They conquered the native Sith and began a new empire.

Faith!
Alpha Flight #127
Average.
Shaman observes his teammates in battle.
Not much happens. The Infinity Crusade is in full swing, and the guest stars are interesting. Michael Twoyoungmen observes that his friends are resisting the Goddess in their own way. And... that's it. An issue you could skip and miss nothing.
Simon Furman (25 of 28).
Dario Carrasco, Jr. (3 of 6).

It’s T minus 6 days to Halloween! Do you have a costume yet? If not, read on – every day this week, I will provide a guide for how to dress up as an obscure character from Star Wars comics!
Day 2: Odan-Urr, the Librarian Jedi (Sexy Version)
Odan-Urr is the founder of the Jedi Library on Ossus, and therefore a perfect opportunity to objectify the noble profession of librarians. If you can manage to get your nose out of your book, here’s what you’ll need for this creepy-cute look:
1. a skull mask (top half only; there are no jaws in space) 2. sexy librarian costume (teeny skirt, thigh-high socks, unbuttoned vest, etc.) 3. purple robe 4. accessorize to the gods (Jedi jewelry game was on point in this era: tiara, bangles, giant earrings, chains, chunky necklace, the limit does not exist) 5. the original Sith holocron (draw a triforce and cut it out; fold the outer triangles up and tape them together; paint it pink) 6. books (bonus: book cart, the better for Satal to steal from)
“Tales of the Jedi: The Fall of the Sith Empire,” issue 1: “Desperate Measures,” and issue 5: “End of an Empire.” Dark Horse. June 18 and October 22, 1997. Writer: Kevin J. Anderson. Penciller: Dario Carrasco, Jr. Inkers: Mark G. Heike, Bill Black, and David Jacob Beckett. Letterer: Willie Schubert. Colorist: Ray Murtaugh.

Marka Ragnos was a half-Sith and Dark Lord in ancient times. A powerful Force user, Ragnos ruled the Sith of Korriban for many years with an iron fist, pitting his enemies against one another to secure his throne. Ragnos returned from the grave as a spirit, haunting many powerful Sith who dared listen to his counsel.

Dead Reckoning! (Part 2)
Alpha Flight #126
Satisfying.
"The fate of all reality rests on our actions!"
Solid conclusion to self-contained two-parter. The imagery is impressive, and even the lettering is cool and inventive. Shaman's team is surrounded, and all appears lost. Eventually, the script reveals that Shaman has been planning something all along.
This was very enjoyable indeed. The characters are likeable, and Marvel doesn't have any other books like this at this point in time. There's really nowhere else this story could have been told. AF is unique.
Simon Furman (23 of 28).
Dario Carrasco, Jr. (2 of 6).
