One of the things I’m really hoping to hear in any of upcoming books is for Jack or Sally to say an “I love you” to one another. I know they’ve shown nothing but true love to one another (they’re married! Lol) but it would be so adorable to hear them actually say it since they haven’t technically yet♥️♥️

Can I ask you your opinions on Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca? I used to read your book blog but I couldn’t read your review on this particular novel.

Oh! It's been a while since I read REBECCA and at the time I really disliked it. However, many conversations since have convinced me that I probably read it on an extremely superficial level and missed a lot of what du Maurier was doing in the novel. SPOILERS In a nutshell, I thought the book was celebrating the narrator's decision to remain in a profoundly problematic marriage with a man who'd murdered his first wife. Many of my friends, however, including women from manipulative marriages, got the opposite impression.

I'm not sure what I do think of the book anymore, but I've realised that it's more complex and mature than I gave it credit for being. That's part of the reason my review is no longer available.
