A DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that cooperates according to rules encoded on the Ethereum Blockchain. DAO is decentralized, they are not subject to the control of any single entity. This makes them more resistant to hacking and corruption.

'Date Pies' masterpost 🌹
'Date Pies' is a beloved Dragon Age fic and project I started in 2021. I never turned it into something like an art masterpost and thought it might me fun!
Do you recognize some characters? Can you guess what happens in the story from those images? (especially the Dog-Teagan scene? 💀)
I took a lot of creative liberties, but it was immensely fun to further indulge in DA lore and to fill-in some vague or empty spaces with my headcanons and costume + character designs.
It's a Dragon Age Origins fic with a Kallian Tabris (the city elf) romancing Bann Teagan.
AO3 fic cw: Typical DA violence, blood, gets smutty in the last chapter (of course it does!)
Dragon Age art tag has misc DA stuff, from other friends' and clients' OCs + canon characters + more Kallian and Teagan sketches. Reblogs are appreciated if you'd like to shop around and find individual art posts you enjoy — no pressure, though!
Also a big big thank you to @shanaraharlyah for helping SO SO MUCH in inspiring me, motivation, AND revising the fic (and being a dear friend overall!!!). She has her own fics and artworks in the DA universe — including a beautiful, compassionate and strong Surana — and I recommend her and her blog to anyone in the fandom ♥ 🌿

During my weeks with covid I wasn't getting much done, but I'm finally feeling well enough to catch up on these :) Tagged for wip-whenever by @scionshtola @lavampira and @creaking-skull!
Thanks friends 💖💖
I'll tag @sunshinemage @s1ithers @ruushes if you're up for it 💖 I am not sure who is or isn't tagged so if you have something to share please consider this a tag!
I'm feeling more comfortable with the decision to add the Adelmar visit to QDT (now titled Matacuervos). It's giving me a chance to delve more into that subplot, and in doing so it's tying more closely to the overall plot. Here's a little peek at some very raw writing from it.
-
The sounds of the brothel floated in through the open door, and Zevran sat in his chair, impassive. He raised a brow, but otherwise did not react to her gesture. Truth be told, he had no idea what to say. He hadn’t expected to be met with so much resistance, and his intuition was telling him there was some reason why Amilcar was desperate to get him gone. But the thought was interrupted as a familiar voice floated through the door.
“Husband?”
Hamal had evidently grown tired of waiting out on the street. With a smile, he sidled in through the door, amidst a background chorus of delighted exclamations from the patrons and employees nearby.
“Husband!?” Amilcar repeated, scandalized.
Hamal simply smiled at her. “Very little Antivan, sorry,” he said awkwardly. “Everything good?”
“I was simply,” Sra. Amilcar said, her voice terse and jumping from syllable to syllable, “Telling your husband that, unfortunately, we cannot accommodate his request.”
Zevran, still seated in the same spot, glanced between Hamal and Sra. Amilcar. Part of him was mortified at the tone the woman was taking with Hamal. Part of him was desperately curious to see how Hamal would handle it, though, so he remained silent, making himself at home in the discomfort.
“Ohh,” Hamal said, and then repeated, “Sorry! Very little Antivan, very bad.”
With that, he stepped close enough to wrap an arm around Zevran with a grin.
“We are married! On honeymoon. I will pay everything. Is good. We are honeymoon! A gift!”
He pressed a kiss to Zevran’s cheek. By now, the discussion had drawn the attention of others, who erupted into cheers at the declaration. Zevran could no longer hold it back; he burst out laughing, under Hamal’s confidence and attention, and the way the prostitutes shouted encouragement and praise. What a doting husband! What a thoughtful gesture! Were they open to adding a third?
Sra. Amilcar had grown quite pale. Swaying a bit on her feet, she seemed to steel herself before taking a deep breath and shouting, “I will call the city guard if you do not leave, NOW!”

Huai dao chapter 25: so im only in the beginning portion. But id say a big difference between huai dao and modu is that in huai dao police (at least so far) have been portrayed only positively. Modu, while having luo wenzhous team be u know about as glorified in wanting to be good/do right by people as most of these types of main characters in murder mystery novels... theres also a much larger focus on corruption. Modu spends a lot of time on corrupt police working with their team, undermining their efforts to do good, their boss and bosses above that being corrupt, their fellow employees killing innocent people and people who do commit crimes being in danger they do Not deserve. How the poor, immigrants, drug users, are used by the police as scapegoats and their rights are not respected, the tragedy that is. And then outside the police, how corruption runs through corporations, through the rich, through politicans, through authority figures in groups who give them the kind of power able to be abused. Modu still ultimately has police as its heroes, like huai dao (and similar novels). But i think it does aim to do a more nuanced evaluation of what is justice, what do individuals have to do and consider daily to contribute to helping individuals/society, what corruption exists and its various forms of structural power that harm people. Huai dao maybe... maybe is trying, so far, to look into human nature a bit (im only 1/4 through tho). Modu was a lot more certain of what about human nature it wanted to touch - what corruption exists, who does it hurt, how do you help people in this world that has corruption in the justice system and in power, how many kinds of people are victims to it, how far does it reach. Modus even a bit conservative in looking at this (as i imagine the plot couldve spiraled out to encompass the whole country or whole World) since it tries to contain this examination to 1 fictional city, using the city as a stand in for the bigger world.

A DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that cooperates according to rules encoded on the Ethereum blockchain.
Because DAOs are decentralized, they are not subject to the control of any single entity.
The rules of a DAO are encoded in its smart contracts.
These rules determine how the DAO interacts with the outside world and how its internal affairs are managed

When drinking green tea, it is better to drink Mingqian tea
Tumblr media
Mingqian tea" is a traditional Chinese famous tea, also known as "Qingming tea", "spring tea" or "Yipian Chun". It refers to tea leaves picked before and around the Qingming Festival (around April 5th on the Gregorian calendar), usually referring to green tea or yellow tea.
"Mingqian tea" is highly regarded due to its high quality. The pleasant weather during the Qingming period, with a large difference in temperature between day and night, results in slow growth of the tea leaves, which are tender and green, with a fresh aroma and a refreshing taste, making it a "spring delicacy".
Furthermore, Mingqian tea is considered one of the purest teas because the low temperature during the harvesting season means there are no pests or diseases, which reduces the need for pesticide use in the tea garden. Therefore, compared to tea leaves picked in other seasons, the quality of Mingqian tea is superior, with a more pure taste. Since the tea leaves are harvested when they are still tender, the resulting tea has a delicate and clear green color, a rich fragrance, and a fresh and refreshing taste, making it particularly popular among tea enthusiasts.
Tumblr media
"Mingqian tea" is mainly produced in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions of China, with Hangzhou's West Lake Longjing tea being the most famous. In addition to Longjing tea, there are various types of Mingqian tea, such as Huangshan Maofeng from Anhui, Qian Dao Yin Zhen, and so on.
"Mingqian tea" has an important position in Chinese tea culture and is considered a high-end gift.
Tumblr media
Note: "Qingming" is one of the traditional 24 solar terms in China, falling on April 4th or 5th on the Gregorian calendar, which is the 15th day after the spring equinox. In ancient China, the 24 solar terms were used to guide agricultural production and daily life rhythms, and the Qingming solar term marks the mid-spring season when the temperature gradually rises, and all things grow rapidly, making it a critical time for agricultural production. In addition to Qingming, the 24 solar terms also include the Beginning of Spring, Rain Water, Waking of Insects, Vernal Equinox, Grain Rain, Beginning of Summer, Grain Full, Grain in Beard, Summer Solstice, Slight Heat, Great Heat, Beginning of Autumn, End of Heat, White Dew, Autumnal Equinox, Cold Dew, Frost's Descent, Beginning of Winter, Minor Snow, Major Snow, Winter Solstice, Minor Cold, and Major Cold.

very suddenly obsessed with the way that videogames, thru using a dialogue wheel, can inform the player of different dimensions while also allowing the player character freedom of expression*
specifically, I'm thinking about how dao can allow the warden to be horribly kind and polite when speaking to Cailin/talking to Duncan afterwards, while also emphasizing how foolish Cailin's optimism is, and tension between races. (Iirc these specific lines are along the lines of "He's a fool, isn't he" and "You're no king of mine, human/shem lord")
*to the degree allowable by confines of coded interactions

I think for the Red Jenny organization, where everyone in it takes on the title of Jenny, and goes out to Robin Hood- that it would have been cool beyond the splash of red in their wardrobe for there to be some anonymity. Anyone could be a Jenny in your midst, from your servant polishing the stairs to any bartender or sex worker or farmer.
Like we meet Sera in Orlais, land of Masks. And I would have really enjoyed if she had a red mask and a hood. We get a sense of her personality and what her organization is about before we ever see her face. It also would work with Sera’s self hate and internalized racism stress on not caring about elf or human but the lower class as a whole. Any Jenny could be an Elf or Human under their hood and they take tips from any little person about a rich person’s nonsense. And better yet let them rumor if Jenny is one person or a horde, that its all young human upstarts or a larger collective deeper held.

Y’know I was just reading a random fanfic on AO3 about Wei Wuxian’s burial mound days, and I suddenly thought of something regarding how his injuries healed much slower than usual without a core.
People who’ve been forming and using their cores to heal wounds ever since childhood would probably be unaccustomed to healing them regularly, right? Like, the different ways wounds heal is escaping me rn but their body is the one that has to do most of the work. Meanwhile, while cultivators do rely on their body to help, it’s mostly the mystical energy that comes from a core that patches everything up. Because a cultivator’s body has been basically conditioned to rely on that spiritual energy, it makes me wonder if a coreless cultivator would heal even slower than a normal person who’s never developed a core.
