About Danzo's death
I know there are a lot of people that when talking about whether Danzo's actions were truly motivated by his desire to protect Konoha, might bring up his self-sacrifice at the very end to kill "Madara" and Sasuke as proof that he was willing to die in order to defend the Leaf. But I would like to point out that he only did that once it became obvious that he was going to die no matter what he did. He had a newly-healed Sasuke pursuing him from behind, "Madara" approaching from the front, and to his sides were drops of hundreds of feet off a bridge, into a river. And he was rapidly bleeding out from stab wounds to 2 vital organs. He was fucked, no matter what he did. And mind you, before "Madara" appeared right in front of him to block off his escape route, he was desperately trying to run away, staggering pathetically because of the pain in his wounds. He's a coward who only seemed to make the self-sacrificial play when his death was already unavoidable. Sure, he could've begged. But he knew his pleas would be rejected, with Sasuke right there behind him. He could've jumped off the sides, but he'd die anyway as the water would prevent the blood coming from his wounds from clotting, and he obviously didn't have the strength anymore to get out of the river after the fact. He couldn't jump upwards, as both "Madara" and Sasuke could just cut him off. And going through the bridge, even if he did have the power left to destroy the section of bridge he was standing on (and that's a big if considering his physical condition), would've just ended up the same as if he jumped over the sides. He's a coward, but he's a logical one. So presented with no more options that would allow his survival, he tried to take down his assailants with him. His "self-sacrifice" play was less of a noble sacrifice and more of a petty "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me". Based on his attempt to run away from Sasuke right before that, it's obvious that if given the choice between self-sacrifice for the good of the village, and survival, he'd always choose survival. He just no longer had the option of survival and he recognized that. For all his talk of self-sacrifice for the village, his actions undermine his words and always have. He was more dedicated to his own ambitions, and the *appearance* of devotion to the village, than he actually was devoted to the village.

Look Alive Sunshine ~
New Bulletproof Hearts AU lore just dropped
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, have Kakashi and Genma’s character intros and thumbnail designs and notes for 6 out of the main 7!!! (I’ve already posted Anko ;) )
(If this is the first Bulletproof Hearts AU post you’re seeing, for context this is my Danger Days inspired AU featuring the tokujo squad and also Kakashi :) )
And now for the official intro:
In the fallout following the Resource Wars , and shortly after we lost Kiri to the waves, the Senju company in collaboration with the Red Fan company establish Neo-Konoha, the new capitol of the remnants of the Land of Fire. A shiny new city free from the troubles of post-war faction life, and the dizzying desert heat.
Here in the city everything runs on chakra energy. No more nuclear or fossil fuels, that’s for the old-world now. By tapping into the “dragon veins” flowing through the earth chakra can be cultivated and converted into the fuel that powers all of Neo-Konoha’s beloved bright lights, hover-cars, gadgets, and gizmos. It’s even opened up the doorway to cybernetics and body-modification. With chakra being an energy source that resonates with life it’s never been easier to merge man and tech. Now, many new companies wanting to make their mark on chakra-tech industries have sprouted up, and Chakra City (Neo-Konoha) is very kind to those wanting to contribute to the expansion of the city, and the growth of the economy.
The city is split into three main branches. The tall buildings and neon lights of the inner-city, the seedy bars and backroom deals of the under-city, and the plastic smiles and white picket fences of the residential district. Everything inside the city walls is labeled as Neo-Konoha, and everything outside in the wide open desert plains is labeled as the Outer-Ring, where many live in the little non-radiated pockets of barely habitable land. Made barely habitable thanks to the over mining of chakra, causing the land to be drained of its vitality. Life in the O.R is rough, it’s a lawless wasteland filled with criminals, thugs, and the kindest and realest people you’ll ever meet. It’s the home of all of those who don’t belong inside the city walls. Those who were cast out, or those who chose to leave, and those who had no choice but to be born.
After the tragic death of chairman Minato Namikaze the Golden Era of Neo-Konoha has been replaced my Sarutobi Hiruzen’s age of radio silence, aided by president of ROOT Danzo Shimra who’s company specializes in keeping the people “in line”. A powerful regime threatened only by a newly established pack of desert rats out in the Outer-Ring consisting of two of Minato’s former bodyguards, the previous head of the intelligence division, a woman who’s more machine than human, a sickly smuggler, and more recently a once-double agent turned pink hearted. These anarchists call themselves Wildfire.
Operating out of an abandoned gas station from back in the old era of gas powered vehicles Wildfire’s unofficial leader Genma Shiranui runs a 24h radio station - titled S.E.N.B.O.N radio - where you can tune in to all of the greatest punk-rock hits AND get all the information you need regarding the movement of Neo-Konoha’s exterminators, soldiers, and SCARECROWs out in the O.R. How to best avoid them, and how to best blast ‘em to one of the four respectable levels of dead without sending yourself sky high with ‘em. Unintentionally Shiranui becomes somewhat of a guardian angel for the people struggling against the chains of oppression out in the wastes. What was once a station created to provide some musical escape with just a sprinkling of survival tricks turned into the stage in which the revolution is set.
In that same gas station that’s home to such an iconic station are all of the other main members of Wildfire. We’ve got Anko Mitarashi, who has a mechanic shop where she can do just about anything given the proper materials. Anything from mods to prosthetics, vehicle repair and customization, making whole new gadgets, and making cyber-cycles from scratch. Meanwhile, when he’s not out on an assignment Raidō Namiashi’s running the “convenience store” that’s really just a front for the whole fence thing they’re running. Ibiki Morino is used as the group’s ‘intimidation and muscle’ but when he’s not scaring Konoha dogs shitless he’s slaving over his pride and joy, a car that’s more modifications than car. Hayate Gekkō manages their connections to the smuggling routes and also makes it his life mission to act like the station’s cat. Agent Yūgao Uzuki, former SCARECROW assigned to take down the rebels, turned double agent, turned Wildfire loyalist tries to take charge of planning as much as she can. After witnessing the state of the leadership in the revolt rocking konoha she’s flabbergasted they accomplished as much as they did.
On the side of Neo-Konoha Kakashi Hatake, Mad Dog, agent #07, and Hiruzen’s top SCARECROW, is assigned to take Wildfire down. The group consisting of his old comrades and friends, before they turned traitor. With his soldier prowess and the use of the advanced AI program ‘B2’, created by Obito uchiha, Kakashi is the only individual able to stand against Wildfire, the question is, does his loyalty to Neo-Konoha and his trust in “Obito” outweigh the ache he feels. The niggling feeling that there’s something very wrong, something he’s missing.
This is not a tale about heroes. This is not a tale about glory. This is a tale about people. People living, and people dying, and people clawing their way through life, and people snapping at the hand that tightens the leash. There is no victor, there is no clean cut, just what is left when the fire burns through. The embers that sparked the Wildfire are doomed to fizzle out and die in the infancy of the flame. But as long as you stick around to witness the trees burn, they cannot claim it hadn’t happened at all. When a tree falls in a forest, tune in to the sound. Because remember, they can’t control you if you don’t give in to the silence.
Orrrrr
The tokujo gang fight against the oppressive fascist regime of Neo-Konoha while spreading chaos through the wastes and making Kakashi’s life way harder :)
So yeah, I hope that makes sense T~T it’s so late at night when I’m writing this I fear I may be too cryptic…. BUT PLEASE TELL ME YOU GET THE VISION!!
If anyone is interested in more lore feel free to ask anything <<33 I’m going to try and post some mini comics and blurbs for this AU often-ish (for art practice and also I want to push my brainworms onto y’all) so stay tuned?
Alright I think that’s enough yapping (for now ;) ) if anyone read all of that I shall give you one (1) soft little forehead kith :) 😙💋
Okay byeeee~~~

we can never be gods, after all - but we can become something less than human with frightening ease [...] the knives that will slaughter heaven, our heads bloody but unbowed [...] for ours is a fate worse than death...
Tumblr media
Mikoto was carrying her third child when she died ━ it was something she had kept a secret from Fugaku and the whole family, as she was expecting to make it a surprise for everyone. She kept the pregnancy hidden by using the technique of diverting chakra flow;  it is taught to Kunoichi for the sake of going on missions, they are taught to create a 'curtain of chakra' that flows normally, while part of their chakra is diverted to the fetus, thus this curtain hides the baby from sensory type ninja and from the sharingan. When Itachi arrived to kill them, Mikoto had to fight every instinct she had not to defend her unborn child ━ and she did so for the sake of her eldest, who she knew was in so much pain already, Mikoto could only hope that Itachi wouldn't notice the child once she died and the curtain was destroyed, exposing the baby's tiny chakra network. Had she been able to carry the pregnancy to term, Mikoto would have given birth to a healthy little girl.

Day 28: Protective -- Kakashi (ft. Team 7)
Hatake Kakashi & Team 7 | AU: wherein Kakashi is a good sensei who has taken a more active role with his team | Content Warnings: lowkey Feral!Kakashi, threats, blood, death, implied kidnapping, Danzo sucks as per fucking usual
Whumptober Masterlist
---
They’d taken his students. His kids.
Kakashi noticed the absence of their chakra from his house immediately, the way their scents were there but stale, like they hadn’t been there in hours, maybe days.
He’d taken one mission. It’s of the utmost importance, the Hokage had said. No one else can do it, he’d claimed. Kakashi hadn’t wanted to—they’d made him take a team, they shouldn’t have been separating them—but it had been an order. The only thing he could do was complete the mission as fast as possible and run straight back.
It was a good thing, too, because his kids were missing.
He didn’t remember summoning the pack or telling them to track the pups. One minute he was standing in the doorway of his empty house, and the next he was running through the darkened streets of the village, Pakkun and the others spread out around him. It was easy to find traces of the kids. Somewhat fresh, too, and not overwritten by other smells. They’d been here recently, earlier today even.
It was at their usual training ground that Pakkun stopped, growling. “Boss. They were taken here. It’s got Root all over it.”
There was no room for despair in him, no space to curse and wonder how he was going to get them back from Danzo of all people. There was only cold certainty and a vicious snarling rage, and now knew exactly where to direct it.
It was nothing to track down the man, standing proudly in the midst of the Hokage’s office. It was nothing to pin him to the wall, kunai at the ready.
“Kakashi—” the Hokage was saying, but he couldn’t hear it past his own anger.
“Where. Are. They,” he bit out, teeth inches away from the vulnerable part of Danzo’s throat. They were every bit as dangerous as any knife, and Kakashi thought he might find it more satisfying to rip the old bastard’s throat out with his teeth than to merely cut him.
“Who?” Danzo asked, like he didn’t know, like that would spare him.
“My kids.” There was a sharp inhale from behind him at the Hokage’s desk, but Kakashi couldn’t be bothered. “Don’t lie. You still have their scents on you.”
It was true. Faint echoes of Naruto’s fire-salt, Sakura’s dirt-iron, Sasuke’s burnt-sweet lingered on Danzo’s clothes, and Kakashi could smell it.
“Danzo?” Sarutobi asked, voice hesitant and grieved, as if he knew the answer already and dreaded it. Kakashi had no sympathy for him, however, and he would have none until he got his kids back. At least.
“Hiruzen, this is ridiculous—”
The rest of his patience—already worn thin—snapped, and his kunai flashed through the air, cutting a neat line through Danzo’s neck.
(He wanted to tear it out himself, to feel the blood cooling, to feel the pulse end under his own teeth, but the rational part of his brain reminded him he would see his kids soon, and he didn’t want them to be afraid.)
No one tried to stop him as he left out the window. Good.
Danzo, ultimately, was unnecessary. There were a handful of places he might have stashed the kids, none of which would be particularly difficult for Kakashi to get into, not if he was determined.
It was only a matter of time until he had them back.
And once he did—once he was sure they were safe and settled and unharmed—then he’d be back to have a word with the Hokage.

Fic where the unjust death of the Uchiha and the subsequent horrific abuse to their bodies via blatant and indiscriminant eye theft results in Konoha being haunted by the spirits of several very angry Uchiha.
"You know... They say that so long as an Uchiha's eyes do not rest in their body, their spirit will never find peace."
When the husk of a woman who used to be Mikoto smiles, there is blood in her teeth.
"What do you think, Elder Danzo?"
Ft.
- Sasuke being repeatedly lured into the woods by the ghosts of his family (and notably, his parents) both bc some want to protect him and some, not powerful enough to retain their sanity in death, wish for him to die so they might take their eyes as their own
- Nara Shikaku, among others in the Hokage's tower, being repeatedly faced with the unsettlingly eyeless ghost of Fugaku as he appears sporadically and attempting to act as if nothing is wrong— always dissapearing when someone questions how he is there (whether he truly seems to keep forgetting that he has died is unclear, but no methods to purge the offices seems able to keep him away for long)
- the spirit of Mikoto taking on a spokesperson role for the dead, as she seems to have been the one to retain the most of herself in death while plagued with the corruptive everything that comes with being a spirit tied to the earth through nefarious means (with Fugaku being a potential second— if he wasn't so busy w convincing himself he hadn't died at all)
- Danzo being haunted by the more mindlessly violent Uchiha ghosts, driven mad in the afterlife at seeing their eyes in his unworthy flesh
- A surprisingly sane Kagami who has Thoughts and Feelings ab Danzo taking his eye— and the mystery of how exactly he had died
- A suddenly the most qualified person to deal with ghosts Kakashi, who's unfortunatley doomed both attract and to be able to see the Uchiha ghosts with his sharingan, and has them breathing down the back of his neck with talk of watching after Sasuke and GETTING REVENGE !!!!!!!!!!!!! which he is legally obligated to do now as the elder ghosts deem his service as their conduit to be his duty, since they gave him a pass on the eye thing. There's a lot of "see I TOLD you it was a good idea to let him keep the eye!! Clearly Amaterasu has left him here for us to use in our darkest of hours"
Aka forcefully adopted by Uchiha ghosts Kakashi who's "adoption" reads a little more like "indentured servitude to the afterlife"
(And he can't help but wonder why he hasn't seen Obito's ghost, after so many years with his eye in his head...
- Itachi being absoloutley hounded by the guilt of what hes done and the spirits of those hes killed, whove left the haunting of Konoha specifically to haunt him (He is not having fun) (The ghost of Shisui is doing his best to ward away the more volatile ones)
And more !!! Potentially, idk. This would be a fun one if I wrote it but I will not. Someone totally should tho , just, not me.

Lines from my Nart ships that made me go “damn, y’all gay asf”
“I considered Madara a gift from the divine” - Hashirama (like damn okay when am I gonna be someone’s gift from the divine? I see u, u poetic Shakespeare ass mf)
“Come on Itachi, this is you and me that we’re talking about. So don’t worry, it’ll be fine” - Shisui (the sweet smile he gives Itachi, good god)
Shisui: *plays with Itachi’s hair*, Itachi, at a later date: *thinks of Shisui and subconsciously plays with hair* (this is so soft oh my god they were in love)
“You were my hero,” Kakashi to Obito (fell to my knees. Obito was his hero?? The person he looked up to, who saved him? On god just like that??)
“It’s okay now, Kakashi. You don’t need to suffer anymore,” - Obito (they were literal enemies here and all Obito wanted to do was offer him comfort, end me now)
“And what of Izuna?” - Tobirama (hear me out: why did he care?? He felt something. Izuna was his perfect match, he knew he crossed a line by actually hurting him fatally, he felt guilt, he was worried)
“So only my wind…can strengthen his fire” - Naruto, about Sasuke (holy fuck this is one of the gayest lines in this entire fucking show be so honest)
“Touch one hair on his body, I dare you,” Hashirama, to his literal brother, protecting Madara (was he gonna hurt Tobirama for Madara? The drama? The suspense??)
Obito: *awakens Sharingan by protecting Kakashi*
Madara: *awakens Sharingan by having to desert Hashirama*
Sasuke: *evolves Sharingan by thinking Naruto literally died*
Itachi: *awakens Mangekyō after witnessing Shisui’s death* (also, there’s something so absolutely personal about the way that Shisui knew his death would give Itachi the Mangekyō? He just knew Itachi deeply loved him? Ow???)
Perfect scores, model shinobi Itachi, having just deserted an ANBU mission to save Shisui from Danzo only because “something didn’t feel right” (oh so you have a sixth sense for Shisui. He’s your soulmate, is what you’re saying)
Itachi recognizing Shisui’s “soul” in Naruto, giving him Shisui’s deadliest weapon and his final piece of him, and smiling(!), happy that Sasuke has him to watch over him (translation: I recognize that you love Sasuke the way Shisui loved me and he made me feel safe so I know you’ll protect Sasuke)
(Addition) this shit:
Tumblr media
(Like hello??? Smirking and calling him a fox?? Hashi rly said “damn he’s so deadly it makes me hard”)
There’s probably more but it’s 1am and I feel like this dude writing this so I’ll just post to retain a shred of sanity

The thing about this argument, is it gets completly destroyed by the naritive.
Especially when we know how the story ends with Sakura being Sasuke's wife, and Sasuke being the shadow Hokage to Naruto. He spends a good part of his life trying to make amends for everything his friends went throguh to bring him back. Like Sasuke himself appreciates and loves these people.
And, lets be real about what happens in the story. Sasuke is a traumatized 13 year old boy who got drugged/SAed(curse marked) & groomed by a 50 year old man. Then lives with that man for a couple of years before finally murdering him.
And some people beleive because Sasuke murdered Orochimaru in the end, that he had the ability to do that the whole time, or that it means he wasn't really in a fucked up situation. Or that he had more agency in that situation than he really did. He didn't. Sasuke only narrowly avoided being an Orochimaru body by like a week. And even thoguh he did avoid that, he had to live as Orochimarus favorite boy toy for 2-3 years.
Even if there wasn't the whole gross sexual overtone to that, Sasuke had to watch Orochimaru literally experiment on human beings. While having his morals contently tested. It was not a fun time for a 13-15 year old.
Only to then find out he was manipulated into that situation by his brother, after he murdered him.
Only to then be groomed & mind controlled by another older man at age 15-16, to embrace vengeance created by destiny and a space alien. Sasuke wasn't in control of that situation or almost anything that happened to him in the series at all.
Let's be real Naruto & Sakura's desire to try to bring him back is the most normal thing. Like imagine being 13 and finding out your 13 - 16 year old friend got groomed by two older men to do things agaisnt their own self intrest. You'd want that to stop, too.
And if you did everything in your power to stop that from happening, people would understand it, even if your 13-16 year old friend was saying, "No, I want to work with this 50 year old man."
Like are there some weird implications on Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke. Yeah. But they all genuinely do have a bond together. The three of them are not strangers, they've literally been in multiple situations where they had to (potentially) give their lives for one another, and all willingly did it, before Sasuke left for Orochimaru.
If Naruto didn't care about Sasuke, the world quite literally would have ended. Which is the whole point of the series. This is a love(bonds) conquers all story.
The thing about a lot of Sasuke's actions, when he's a groomed teenager, is they don't just affect him. Sasuke literally kills a world leader. Not just a world leader, technically, Konoha's leader. He (attempted to) kidnapped the brother of another world leader, in an attempt to murder him & create a nuke. Sasuke's literally in multiple international terrorist groups. Like he's not doing charity and asking to be left alone. Sasuke was doing acts of terrorism and asking to be left alone.
His opposition realized he was just a groomed child and offered him mercy.
Naruto and Sakura wanted him to stop doing acts of terrorism. They don't even need him to be in Konoha and we know this, because he left Konoha, that had his wife and daughter, for 13-14 years to travel. He doesn't even work for Konoha, he works with Naruto. They understand Sasuke can not completly forgive Konoha. Which is why they let him leave the second time.
And I really hate this internet mentality of "you don't owe anyone anything." Beleive it or not, you do. You owe it to your fellow human being to be nice to them. Yeah there's shitty people out there that use being nice as a manipulation tool. That's not everyone.
That's also not what's happening in the story.
istg i’ve never seen a valid reason used by someone explained why they hate sasuke.
90% of the time it’s basically them saying he didn’t react to trauma the way they wanted him to (or doing trauma olympics using naruto, gaara, kakashi, etc as examples of “thEIr TrAUmA DiDN’t TUrN thEm iNtO aSSHOLes”)
5% is again, using very valid trauma from a 7 year old witnessing the death of their entire clan by their brother and being forced to relive it for 3 days, as a way to say he’s “too edgy and emo”
and the other 5% is used by shippers (mainly SS), shaming him for not reciprocating feelings he never felt for the other character

yesterday i had a glorious fucking migraine and i had thoughts about au of the time travel tobirama au
basically what if Tobirama fails and dies like about a year after the marriage with Madara. Konoha is building and everything, everyone is happy and then Tobirama fucking dies.
I didn't think of the reason, but maybe he was killed in battle or smth. Maybe by some clan like idk Shimura :)
(prob bc of Black Zetsu)
So, expectedly, Madara loses his fucking mind and it's even worse than when Izuna died, cuz they're supposed to be at peace what the fuck. Madara tries to raze the entire clan responsible for his sweet husband's death.
Hashirama doesn't let him do that and Madara leaves the village, where Black Zetsu catches onto him.
So basically, canon, but Tobirama was never Niidaime and Izuna lived.
The second Hokage would be, idk, Itama, who's fucking terrified and he didn't signed up for this shit!
But yeah, he's the Niidaime and he does everything in his power to implement everything Tobirama wanted to do for the village. And it's a lot. A LOT. Honestly like the dude knew he's gonna be a Hokage one day, he left MANY notes.
Itama appoints Kagami as his successor, cuz that's what Tobirama would want.
Danzo, being a bitch at the Uchiha clan, since Madara had a huge beef with his clan, kills Kagami, takes his eyes, makes it mission accident yada-yada, Itama appoints Hiruzen the next Hokage.
Idk why Itama left the position, but he never wanted it anyway. He did everything his brother wanted and peaced out to go smoke.
So, the canon happens.
The 4th war happens.
Orochimaru raises the dead Hokage, but not only him, Tobirama is there too, since he was super smart and his personal fav.
"Oh fuck, not again," Tobirama said, hiding his face in his hand. Everyone thought that's about the time Orochimaru made him fight in the Konoha crush on chuunin exams. He choose him over Itama, cuz even though Itama is a good Hokage, but he's a healer for the most part and not that useful on the battlefield.
Sasuke asks his questions and then he asks Tobirama.
"Uchiha Tobirama. The history says that you were married off to the Uchiha clan, to Madara, against your will and then took the suicide mission after a year in marriage. Is this true? You hated the Uchiha so much that you killed yourself?"
"I did what"
"Well, you were the one who created Uchiha Police Force..." Orochimaru said.
"First of all, I planned it to go further than the Uchiha and to supervise it myself. At the first stages it was supposed to be only Uchiha because it was one of the most competent clans to do this job and my clan that I trusted. Second of all, 'against my will'? Seriously?! I did not chase Madara since I was 9 to write our marriage off as a political marriage! What the fuck!"
Everyone, except Hashirama and Itama looked shocked at this confession.
"Where IS my husband? Trying to avenge my death to the whole world?"
"Uh, yeah.."
"Of fucking course. I should've left him a note specifically saying that he needs to be in the fucking village and take care of our clan. Now what? Our clan is just one a vengeful child!"
Tobirama paused, feeling up the battlefield.
"And one more Uchiha who lost his shit. Of fucking course"
Everyone shocked, cuz Tobirama had a reputation who hated Uchiha, cuz his brother married him off to them as a peace offering. Then Sasuke makes Hashirama talk about all this talk about village, Hokage, shinobi yada yada yada
Senju brothers are PISSED at Hiruzen and Danzo (thank fuck he's dead right). Hiruzen looked remorseful and said that he knew that everyone expected Kagami to become Hokage and not him.
Ok, so!
Tobirama was the fastest one to rush to the battle field. He had a feral husband to calm down.
He arrived and just stood before Madara, who froze in shock.
"Husband, come here," Tobirama said, opening his arms. Alliance is just standing there gaping cuz what the fuck
Madara didn't notice Tobirama at first, since he masked his chakra by habit. But even then he was exited to meet Hashirama and fight once more. But then he sees Tobirama and FUCK all these plans, his huband is here!!!
Madara just crushed into Tobirama. He had no idea that Tobirama could've been edo tensei'ed the whole time!
"Calm down, dear. What have you done here?" Tobirama asked, petting his husband's hair.
"I just wanted to bring you back..."
"Oh dear... You stupid, stupid man," Tobirama shook his head and kissed him, while the whole Alliance watches shocked.
And this is a story how Tobirama stopped the 4th war singlehandedly.
Ofc there's Obito, but they sic Naruto on him and it's all good. Though Black Zetsu tried something, but Tobirama is fucking READY for him. He will avenge his husband's sanity.
Before they go to Pure Lands again, Tobirama said to Tsunade, Kakashi and Naruto "Fucking fix your history books! I love my husband since I was 9!" (he actually didn't, but no one should know about it, okay)
And Madara is there just clinging to Tobirama with all his body and refusing to let go. He doesn't care about Eternal Tsukuyomi anymore, cuz he can hug his husband once more.
Migraine AUs sure are interesting

You know what would be HILARIOUS?
For everyone NOT involved in the situation?
If the Uzumaki, mad lads that they were, seal master's who routinely moon the Shinigami for funsies that they are, got SUUUUUPER drunk? And were like?
"F-! *hic!* FUCK your fancy ass Summons contract Himiko! I got one TOO, you know. A..An' it's TOTALLY better then yours! It's got BLACKJACK! And hookers!" *falls on their face unconscious*
Needless to say? Not their proudest moment. Actually, their kinda deeply embarrassed. But like FUCK ARE THE BACKING DOWN! Their mouths wrote a check their ass can't currently cash... so the only REASONABLE solution? Apologize and tell the truth? Psh! NO.
Break Reality Until It's TRUE.
THEN they weren't technically lying!
They're a GENIUS~☆! :D
And yes, yes this IS normal behavior for them. It's both cultural AND genetic. There was a REASON people were terrified of those insane mother fuckers.
Because? They just? MADE UP a A Summons Contract. With Who? Dunno! We're gonna find out! But it looks right Seals wise! *signs name before anyone with sense can stop them, does the signs, draws blood aaaand?*
POOF!
Nani THE FUCK!? Says local dead Japanese 16th century fisherman who was flying by to visit the Lair of his buddy the 14th century monk. Behold! A FUCKING ZONE GHOST! He is unsummoned before he can react.
The Uzumaki have A Ghost Contract™.
.........th....they may have fucked up.
YOU THINK?
Roars basicly the ENTIRE Elders council. Who FUCKING FELT THAT. Because EVERYONE Felt that. They're SENSOR. That was a HOLE in REALITY that somehow GLOWED like a BEACON of both absolute Nothingness and Death! You TRAUMATIZED THE KIDS, YOU ASSHOLE!
Still....they ARE ninja. And Curious mother fuckers to the last.
So basically EVERYONE and their dog signs it. They somehow get WEIRDER. Bigger Chakra reserves. Obsessive tendencies. Meh, you win some, you lose some.
But? Then they fuckin DIE. (And their WHOLE ASS VILLAGE SHOWS UP IN THE ZONE. OH GOD, WHAT-!?)
And some grave robbing fuck tries to use the Contract. SUPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!
Ghost Uzumaki!
Your literal worst nightmare!
They DO NOT try using it again. It gets sealed DEEP. Until the Hokage gets wind of it. And, of course, Danzo. The Hokage sends Hound. And Team Kakashi on a completely unrelated but nearby "help a farmer" mission. Danzo sends assassins. Because he's fucking awful.
Kakashi gets the scroll.
Yep. Creepy rambling and shit handwriting, def Uzumaki. Time to go.
He gets attacked on the way back to camp. GDI Root. Well, its you or me. Sucks for you, I guess. They fight. They get a lucky shot. He bleeds on the scroll, doesn't notice. But SURELY... SURELY it isn't CROWDED enough with names that the Uzumaki just added a "and anyone who bleeds on THIS part at the bottom _______ plus does the handsigns" towards the end.... RIGHT??
RIGHT?! Look him in the EYES Uzumaki Clan, RIGHT??!
They would prefer not to answer that. The Vibez here are getting REALLY aggressive, you know? >.> It made sense at THE TIME...
So... he goes to summon his Dogs.
And he SURE DOES GET UM.... plus One(1!!!).
Who the FUCK is this glowing green dog? A puppy? Kakashi seeing the dimwitted looking little thing about to get STABBED tries to rescue it. It takes one look look at him (worried for it), the other dogs (growling at his enemies, fighting) and... turns around, shifting as it does, to HUNDREDS of times it's previous size.
Like an Akimichi transformation.
A sudden, hulking, green WOLF with red glowing eyes and killing intent that would Rival a demon's. The howl is unearthly. It joins the fray like a meat thresher.
Then pops back to a floating, tongue lolling, dimwitted pup the second everything is done.
G...God boy?
Far be it for KAKASHI to fear a dog, no MATTER how dangerous. So he carries it back to camp. Where it seems to instant fall in LOVE with Naruto. They become the BEST of friends.
There's frolicking.
Looking down at the pocket with the scroll he reclaimed? Yeah. Yeah that tracks. According to Pakkun, the pup has a "weird, echo-y" accent and is incredibly scatter brained. Training to be a gaurd dog? WAS Training. IS currently... what.
Okay. IS currently the gaurd dog/pet of an Emperor. Because THATS not alarming. Did the Royal family all... wait... he examines the pup again. Transparent. Was it KILLING intent he felt... or a Deathy pressure? Didn't the Uzumaki have Forbidden soul and death seals? It would stand to REASON...
Oh god damn it.
Pakkun. Pakkun please tell me that pup is ALIVE.
(He can not.) (Hilariously? Dispite being TERRIFIED of Ghosts? Naruto is TOTALLY COOL with Zone Ghosts? Don't be MEAN, Sensei! They're just PEOPLE! It's not THEIR fault They're dead! Now GHOSTS? Spooky and EVIL! Totally different.)

✨blood covenant✨ fic preview ->
for those of you that missed it, @tozettastone, @waffliesinyoface and i all agreed to do a blood covenant challenge where we write OC/character fics.
here's the potential first chapter of mine, which is OC/Minato
****
I’m going to fuck up that guy’s whole life, is the only thought in my mind as I leap through the trees.
Every time I come down on a new branch, my right thigh screams in protest. It screams again as I come back up, hurling myself as ungracefully as a new genin to my next landing. WHat’s left of the fabric of my leggings is hot and sticky with blood.
But, dear reader, I have advice for you: if you want to kill a medic, make sure you make a killing blow. Don’t just leave her for dead and assume she’ll crawl off and die like a good girl. I know, if you’re a megalomaniac with an ego the size of Hokage Mountain, this will seem tempting, to leave her to wallow and suffer while you go off to do something more important. Do not do it.
I’m not Shisui, I thought furiously, pausing in my sloppy run as the temple I was aiming for came into sight. I’m not just calling it quits and giving away my eyes. Fuck off, Danzo.
I lean against the trunk of the tree, panting heavily. Through the branches, I can see the curving roof of the temple. There are a lot of old abandoned buildings out here, dotting the forests of Fire Country, and this one doesn’t stand out as special. I only knew where it was because I’d previously found it by happenstance, and I only recognized it as important by chance knowledge. I have never been inside before.
Pausing my run was a mistake. The loss of momentum means that I am abruptly and painfully aware of how shaky and weak my legs feel. I make a clumsy jump for the forest floor and have to turn my landing into an embarrassing roll.
If anyone is following me, they’re far enough behind that I can’t sense them. I can see the spiral emblem on the door of the temple, the carved wood smoothed and faded with time. I limp forward confidently, using my left hand to push more healing chakra into the hole in my leg, which I would generously describe as “gaping,” but is definitely less gaping than when Danzo had stabbed me.
I’ll get both his legs, I think as I push open the temple door. Ugh, it’s going to scar!
The movement of the door tosses an enormous amount of dust into the air, making my eyes water. The air smells stale and musty. The windows are boarded up, and only a few sickly strands of moonlight illuminate the innards of the Uzumaki temple.
I have to stop my healing to activate my sharingan. I can usually do both at once, obviously, but I’d been running on nothing but adrenaline and spite for too long, and my body currently doesn’t contain nearly enough blood as it should. I’m starting to get dizzy.
The sharingan does nothing to enhance color vision, but with it I only need the smallest source of light to make out the contents of the temple clearly. There are some hanging scrolls and abandoned, rotting furniture, which I ignore. My eyes go straight for the rows of masks hanging across the back wall.
I limp into the temple. When forming this half-made plan on the way over, I’d had some trepidation about identifying which mask is the one I want, but looking at them, I know instantly.
It’s not that the mask looks extraordinary or that my sharingan can pick up something special. The mask appears to be nothing but wood: paint peeling just slightly with time, a grinning demon’s face with curling horns, a jeering smile on its lips. Nothing is peculiar about its craftsmanship, and my sharingan can detect no jutsu or chakra on it.
And yet, to look into its eyes, is to see the inevitability of your own death.
A hint of fear tingles up my spine. A bad omen, my superstitious mother would have said. A warning to my most primal senses that this is a power not to be taken lightly.
I step limp forward anyway.
It’s fine. I’ve been staring down the inevitability of my own death for over two decades. The feeling still makes my blood run cold with terror, but it’s a feeling I’m used to. This is my last chance at defying fate.
I pull the mask for the wall and lift it to my face.
If you kill me, I think at the mask, make sure you bring those assholes down with me, will you?
xXx
Dear reader, here is what you need to know about me.
My name is Uchiha Renka. I was raised by a great aunt after both my parents died in the Second Shinobi War. My hobbies include reading, baking, and dabbling in make-up and fashion. After a lot of study and hard work, I have passed most medic-nin competencies and work mainly in the hospital.
I am a painfully normal sort of young woman, as you can see. At least for a ninja. I work my shifts, and I treat myself to a new book once a week. The most scandalous thing I do, aside from occasionally going out on state-mandated missions that sometimes include various types of murder, is that every once in a while I go out drinking with my girlfriends, and even that isn’t too scandalous. The rowdiest I get is wearing unique shades of lipstick. We even have a three drink maximum. I did not do anything to merit the fucking headhunt after me except exist as an Uchiha.
And… well, okay, I’ll admit something, just between us. Another thing you should know about me is that, even if my main goals in life are to not die, to help people at the hospital, and then to go home and read a good book over some hot tea on my balcony, I do have a bit of a fatal flaw. It’s nothing more than a basic Uchiha family trait, really:
I am just a teensy-weensy bit vindictive.
It got me into trouble a few times growing up, but it’s really nothing too bad. It definitely wasn’t enough to make me deserve the absolute clusterfuck you just read about. You make one mistake, and next thing you know, your boss is calling you a vile woman and a disgusting, cowardly failure and trying to kill you.
Well, fuck him, honestly. I’d survived everything up until him, and I’m not going down without a fight.
I wasn’t one hundred percent sure how the shinigami mask worked when I put it on. When I’d decided to try it, I thought I could maybe use the shinigami to chuck Danzo and-slash-or “Madara” into the afterlife for good. My second choice was to bring back Tobirama and have him tell off my enemies and maybe my clan for… whatever the hell they were doing.
Honestly. All I want is to sit in my patio chair with a blanket and read…
I vomit up the Fourth Hokage instead.
I know. It sounds gross. I know. But I’m not making any of this up. I put on the mask, and it’s like the shinigami is inside me, and then inside of the shinigami was this horrible squirming feeling. I want it out. I need it out.
I throw up. It feels awful, worse than any vomiting session I’d had before, my whole body retching. The mask falls off my face.
Then the Fourth Hokage is standing in front of me.
Reader, I assume that you are coming into this story with certain expectations for how pulling a soul out of the shinigami’s stomach should work. Well, toss those expectations. You’re basing them on people who knew what they were doing. I’m just one innocent little Uchiha.
Namikaze Minato appears before me in a white funeral kimono, folded neatly right side over left, a white band with a triangle over his forehead around his head. Clearly instead of a fighting-fit Hokage like I expected, I’ve grabbed him… right out of the grave…?
He turns to me and blinks rapidly, like the sun is in his eyes, despite it being the middle of the night. Reader, this man is handsome. With this wide, dazed expression, he looks like a confused male model, not the most lethal ninja in history.
My throat feels raw. I open my mouth to speak but can’t. His eyes move away from me like he hasn’t quite registered that I'm there.
He pats himself down absent-mindedly, his hands going down his chest and stomach like he’s surprised they’re there. I watch as his brows furrow a little as his hands approach his hips. Then he reaches down to his right thigh, his fingers moving toward the inner part of the front. He presses down.
I scream. It’s like someone has stuck their fingers directly into my thigh wound. Pain completely cuts off all my thoughts and I finally topple over completely.
I’m aware he’s moved over to stand over me, although my vision has gone white with pain. His gait is uneven, something of a limp. I fumble for my wound, pressing numbing chakra into it. Danzo had clearly been aiming for the femoral artery to make me bleed out, and I’d fixed it up enough to not endanger my life, but it still hurt.
There’s no new damage to my wound, even though that definitely felt like that should have ruptured something.
I feel the Fourth Hokage squat next to me, and his hand comes down over mine, pressing gently against my wound. It’s not enough to hurt this time, not with the help of the healing chakra numbing the nerves, but it increases the pressure over it markedly.
“Huh,” he says.
“What the fuck,” I croak out, and dust on the floor gets in my throat and eyes and makes me have to fight back a cough.
He removes his hand. Then, even though he’s clearly not touching me, I feel a pinch on the back of my hand.
“Ow,” I say accusingly, and then give into the coughing fit.
“You can feel that?” he asks, sounding surprised.
He waits patiently while I sit back up, coughing again. He seems completely unrushed and unbothered, watching me with extreme interest. He doesn’t have the slightest idea what’s going on.
I stare back at him. I’m clearly a wreck. There’s dust all in my hair now, flooding my nasal passageways and making me sneeze. Between the sharingan and having to use Mystical Palm again, my head is swimming and my arm is barely strong enough to hold me up.
He holds my gaze despite the active sharingan, studying me like he’s never seen another human face before. Brave man. But maybe being dead for eight years makes one brave.
Or… who am I kidding? He’s the Yellow Flash. He probably thinks he could kill me before I could cast a genjutsu.
(I think he couldn’t. But I’m obviously not going to test this theory unless I have to.)
After a few moments in which I let out several unsexy, wheezing breaths, he turns away from me and picks up the fallen shinigami mask.
“So that’s how you did it,” he says, flipping it around in his hands. “I’m remembering now… I think I was hoping someone would come for this, at first, or another tool to let me pass on properly. But then… I forgot…” He frowns, deeper this time. “I forgot a lot of things. How long has it been?”
“Since you died?” I say. “Eight years.”
“Only eight?” he repeats and absentmindedly scratches the side of his face. I cannot feel this on my own face, I notice. Perhaps we can only share pain. “It felt so much longer, with nothing to see or feel or do…”
His head turns up, and it takes me a few moments of concentration to realize Danzo’s cronies have finally caught up with me. He hadn’t immediately sicced any on me, as he’d confronted me himself and then left me for dead. But likely he’d sent a team to confirm I’d actually died, and I hadn’t exactly covered my trail.
The Hokage doesn’t look worried, just mildly curious.
“They want to kill me,” I say, unsteadily getting my feet under me in preparation to stand. “I… you have to help me. You have to help Konoha.”
He turns his eyes back on me, and they still have that look of mild curiosity, like he’s watching a television show he doesn’t understand the plot to.
“Why do they want to kill you?” he asks.
“It’ll take too long to explain,” I say. “Please.”
I had thought that summoning the dead meant you got to control them. This doesn’t appear to be how it works. Instead of getting up to kill the team of ROOT agents outside, Minato tucks the shinigami mask into his white kimono and then leans over me to set his hand on my shoulder. A second letter, we’re on Hokage Monument, overlooking the village.
“Wow!” Minato says, standing over the village with hands on his hips. “It’s been so long… look at all those lights…”
“Can we please focus?” I ask. I’m still squatted on the ground, and I don’t have the strength to stand casually. I fall back on my butt.
Minato looks pained as he pulls his attention away from the view.
“Right, right, the fate of Konoha or whatever…” he says, sitting cross legged in front of me. He smiles widely. It’s a beautiful, inviting smile. “Now you have time to explain it to me.”
xXx
When I graduated the Academy a little over ten years ago, Konoha was still at the height of war. I’m sure you’ll hear more about that if you stick around.
Back then, I knew of Namikaze Minato because he was one of the Jounin sensei for our cohort. I never spoke to him, but I’d seen him talking with my sensei sometimes. Sometimes I had to talk to Obito about Uchiha related things, and he’d waved at us once or twice from a distance.
My very first real impression of who he was came from an Iwa-nin.
I don’t really like talking about this part of my life, but I want you to trust me, so I’ll be open. When I was thirteen, my team was captured by Iwa. Everyone but me was killed. I was only spared because I had some medical training, and they agreed to let me live in exchange for healing their wounded.
One day I was treating a man with a nasty burns across his entire body, and he suddenly grabbed my wrist, which was all bruised up from being tied when I wasn’t actively healing people.
“You’re one of those Konoha floozies?” he asked. His eyes were unfocused from pain.
I didn’t say anything. Speaking rarely ended well. His grip on me tightened and I winced. I’m always surprised by how strong some people can stay, even when they’ve been beaten half to death.
“Do you know the Yellow Flash?” he asked. “My whole platoon… all of them, gone in an instant…”
He gibbered on and on for several moments, eyes wide. He’d been towards the outskirts of his platoon’s camp when Minato had showed up, which was why he’d had the few precious seconds to realize what was happening.
“We’re supposed to flee on sight,” he said, his whole body shaking. “What they don’t tell you is that once you see him, you’re already dead.”
“You’re alive,” I said diplomatically.
“I used a suicide jutsu, tried to blow myself up,” he said. “I should have died. I would have preferred it, if he’d killed me…”
The man did eventually pass from his wounds. There hadn’t really been much I could have done. Even Tsunade herself probably couldn’t have saved him.
They punished me for it anyway. When I was sitting in the prisoner’s tent, cheek smarting from where the commander had slapped me and stomach growling from reduced rations, I thought about what the man had said.
Once you see him, you’re already dead.
That was the first time I’d really understood the sheer power that a singular ninja could have.
xXx
One reason I think Konoha loved their Fourth Hokage so much, is that he’d go out and kill countless enemies, and then he’d come home and look and behave like the protagonist from a shoujou manga. He was devastatingly lethal, but in everyday interactions, he just had a way of making you feel safe and valued.
Sitting in the cool breeze breeze on Hokage monument with him smiling back at me, it’s not hard to confess to him what had been happening. The planned coup, the proposed counter massacre, the way I’d been caught up in it all. I cry a few times. Beautifully, I might add. I’d practiced in the mirror.
I might be… a little vane. That’s not important right now, though.
Minato nods along with a thoughtful look on his face, more like he’s watching a TV show than listening to a poor woman explain that his village is exploding. It feels off. I hope he’s appreciating my show, at least.
“There’s also…” I turn my face so he can see my flawless profile, staring out over the village. The lights below twinkle in the night like always. There’s really no sign of my entire family— including me—  potentially being wiped out tonight.
“There’s also the masked man,” I say.
Minato blinks, his expression suddenly snapping into focus. He frowns at me.
“The masked man?” he asks.
“He claims to be Uchiha Madara,” I say. “He’s obsessed with me. He approached me, saying he’ll help me if I volunteer for the massacre–”
Minato stands, turning towards the village again. In his white kimono fluttering in the breeze, he almost looks like a Hokage again.
“I think…” he starts. “I think I want to kill him. I was angry about him, before. I can’t quite remember…”
“What are you talking about?” I ask, a twinge of hysteria teasing at the edges of my mind. I try to stand, but my head is dizzy and my injured leg gives out.
Minato turns to me, absentmindedly patting at his own leg.
“This is really annoying,” he says. “Why are we connected?”
“I don’t know,” I snap back, the hysteria bleeding into my voice. “Of course you want to kill the masked man.” I want him to kill the masked man! That’s the whole point! “He’s the one who killed you and your wife.”
His eyes widen.
“Ah…” he says. He sticks out his bottom lip. “I really missed Kushina, the first hundred years…”
“You’ve only been dead for eight!” I screech back at him. Honestly, what was the point of summoning the deadliest ninja in history if he’s a basket case?
I get to my feet for real this time, grasping at the loose pieces of his kimono to pull myself up. He makes no move to intervene, but he also doesn’t help me. Instead he pouts down at me, wincing when I put my weight on the injured leg.
“You have to help,” I say. “Or I will throw myself off this cliff, and we’ll both find out how much pain an undead man can feel.”
He catches my elbow as if to stop me, face still all pouty. It’s a cute look, except that I want him to be a cool leader fixing all my problems!
“Don’t do that,” he says. “Look, I’ll help you. I spent hundreds of years with nothing but the dark pit of the Shinigami’s stomach, thinking about how I wanted to kill the masked man.”
I don’t correct him on his time period.
He smiles brightly at me. “And the Uchiha coup is an easy fix!” he says. “I’ll just do what I did last time.”
“Last time…?” I repeat. I had no idea there’d been a “last time.” What on earth…?
“Mm, they tried this when I was Hokage,” he says. “What did I do again… wow, look at this tree…”
Red autumn leaves flutter off a scraggly tree a few meters away. Minato watches them in the breeze intently, like he’s never seen leaves before.
“Hokage-sama,” I half yell, yanking at his kimono sleeve. “You can look at all the trees you want later.”
“Oh,” he turns back to me. “Right. Last time, I just put one of my Hiraishin markers on their heir. Fugaku’s son… what was his name… anyway, I put a marker on him, and said if the Uchiha tried anything, I’d simply kill their precious child.”
He beams at me. I stare back, mouth unfortunately gaping. It has to be a very unsexy look, but I can’t help it. I’d assumed… I’d assumed there had been no problems under the Fourth, that the Uchiha had been fine and at peace under him, and that he’d be able to make them see reason…
“We can just do that,” he says, cutting through my anxiety spiral. His smile gains a reassuring quality. “I already have the marker in place. We can take the child hostage to make them back down, easy-peasy.”
“N-no,” I sputter out. “We can’t do that. Uchiha Itachi… Fugaku-sama’s first son is dead.”

both the second and third shinobi war happened during his reign, which you can’t really blame him for until you remember that danzo used root to raise tension between konoha and iwa to start the third war, and it was hiruzen who sanctioned ROOT at the start of his hokage run
he allowed a whole village (uzushio) to be wiped out and the uchiha clan (the literal konoha police force) to be so isolated and shunned then resorted to massacring the entire clan to avoid a coup, never mind that there were probably plenty of people who were uninvolved in the plot and he definitely had a bunch of kids killed in the process
clearly he didn’t do much for the poorest of the village seeing as orphans get placed in run down apartments by themself on a stipend that probably doesn’t account for inflation
and even if that was specific to naruto he’s the one that isolated him in the first place and put a protective guard on him to do literally nothing
he let the sannin fall apart and did nothing for whatever survivors of uzushio there might have been
i can understand the uzumaki not going to konoha after their utter failure to help uzushio but i have a hard time believing there weren’t some ppl who wanted some kinda refuge and there were probably at least some uzushio orphans on their own?? and he just never thought to look for them???
if hiruzen has no haters i’ve been removed from the timeline because i’ll still be hating on him from six feet deep in a dirt bed
to that extent hiruzen is either a genuine spineless idiot who only remained in power cause he had the barest understanding that danzo shouldn’t have the hat and danzo wanted him there to keep his own power and for his shady shit cause he knew that the hat wouldn’t get passed to him unless he took it
or he’s machiavellian levels of mastermind who spent several decades power hoarding and at best was willfully ignorant or at worst actively worked with danzo to maintain conflict throughout the nation so his status as “god of shinobi” would keep him in the office
(also is it hiruzen or hashirama who had the title cause it seems both did?? or maybe hashirama had it originally and hiruzen adopted it during his hokage years)
what was Hiruzen’s entire purpose??
genuinely what was hiruzen doing during his entire reign as hokage because i feel like he contributed nothing but negative things during his hokage run
like hashirama built the village, united the clans and brokered peace during the first shinobi war
i always assumed tobirama was the one doing most of the law making and legal shit while hashirama was hokage since tobirama was the one to install the uchiha as konoha’s police and that he continued to do it as hokage himself on top of all the jutsu he was making and the students he was teaching
minato kinda died before he could do much but even then he saved the village from a rampaging kyuubi and presumably helped end the third shinobi war before taking the hat
as a healer, a senju, and a sannin tsunade being hokage right after an invasion killed the last hokage makes sense to me, her reign as hokage’s main purpose was to act as a sort of symbol that konoha is still strong, she mostly made sure that konoha maintained its strength (political and military) and was readying konoha for war to minimize damage
kakashi being a huge part of the war front in the fourth war and his general fame just naturally leads to him being hokage after the fact, kinda like tsunade, he was more of a symbol and placeholder, his main focus as hokage was to ready the position and the village for when naruto took over
and the village seems pretty much like paradise during naruto’s reign if you ignore his own family and interpersonal drama in boruto (i wouldn’t know i didn’t watch it), he’s a well known and respected figure in his own right that united the elemental nations against a common enemy and has maintained that political peace ever since
literally all hiruzen did as hokage was be an idle figurehead while danzo did a bunch of shady shit with his power

The double standards Konoha and fandom generally has when it comes to Uchihas, for example - Asuma’s death. Apparently, Shikamaru is allowed to grieve over his teacher’s death and be unreasonable and lead Choji and Ino against the people they had no chance against. Shikamaru may have had plan against Hidan, but he had no idea about Kakuzu’s abilities. Sure, he planned to get Hidan’s jutsu to kill Kakuzu, but without Kakashi, who got added to his team on last second, Ino and Choji would be long dead before Shikamaru’s plan came into action. Everyone supports and understands him. But now, when Sasuke is grieving over his family and wants a revenge, whole village (and fandom) is calling him a wuss. Where was Kakashi’s famous speech about how he had it worse when he offered his help to Shikamaru’s team? He never showed any intention to support Sasuke about killing Itachi, like he did with Shikamaru. He literally said: “Sasuke quit seeking revenge, even if you success, you’ll be left with emptiness in the end,” of course, it sounds wise, but then Kakashi goes and offers his help to other team for a revenge mission. Why? Itachi was a criminal just like Hidan and Kakuzu, member of Akatsuki. Did Itachi cause less grief for Sasuke than Hidan did for Shikamaru? Why was it so wrong to go after Itachi like they did with Hidan? There is no arguing that Itachi is worse opponent, but that had never been anyone’s point. The only thing everyone droned about was that Sasuke had to give up on revenge, forget about his massacred clan and play house in Konoha like nothing bad had ever happened. Another example would be how everyone says how Sasuke doesn't deserve forgiveness or happiness after everything he had done. What had he done so bad actually? Are we still going on about killing few samurai in a battle? Well, remember Gaara, who used to kill everyone simply for the sake of it. He wasn't on his right mind? Surprise, neither was Sasuke at kage's summit, he was finally going to face man who had ordered his family's death, too bad he wasn't all logical. Gaara could be redeemed for his killing spree, but not Sasuke. Sasuke, who got rid of two akatsuki members, sealed Orochimaru and put end to his experiments and torture (until konoha embraced Orochimaru back, because he was bad but at least he didn't kill samurai). Not to forget how Sasuke did Konoha a huge favor and got rid of Danzo, and I'm not gonna talk about how helped Naruto to save the world, but who says thank you? Nope, no one.

Interesting how Konoha possesses a tombstone with the names of all the “heroes” (as that’s the term they’re given after passing) who sacrificed their lives to “save” Konoha (which it’s a concept that encapsulates people who defended it from invasions and enemies and people that likely died looking to bring profit to the realm) as a postmortem recognition; yet the Uchiha, those innocents that were “sacrificed” to guarantee peace (as Danzo states):
Tumblr media
Have no memorial of their own, no mention of the clan as a whole nor stone or wall with the names of all the members. Their identities are buried alongside their bodies, never to be mentioned or remembered again by anyone but Sasuke, who likely did not know many of them. Once Sasuke passes away, the Uchiha “sacrifice”, their identity as individuals and as part of a clan, will be completely forgotten, even if their deaths were in the service of Konoha.
