It’s like every other day I get online and see a new clip from SDCC of Assad giggling, twirling his hair over Eric/ Devil’s Minion.
Like, how are they still releasing content for an event that happened over a week ago?? If AMC was to release a clip of Assad waxing poetic about the size and shape of Eric/Daniel’s fangs and how erotic it’s going to be to have them lodged in the side of his neck…I wouldn’t even blink at this point.

Not for nothing but what's the damage with people being so negative about people who ship Armand and Daniel going a little nutty?
"Armand thinks of other things." Yeah no shit. Obviously. He's a complex character with an equally complex backstory. He's 514 years old, obviously there's more to him than how he's looking at one mortal man.
But also...Devil's Minion shippers get nothing. CONSISTENTLY. If you were in it from before the show (like I was) we got a chapter in the third book of a 13 book series. Daniel practically ceased to exist after book 3. Armand gets his own book and Daniel was literally a footnote in it and a negative one at that. And there's no real contact between them except maybe two passing sentences in two of the later books. Daniel isn't even mentioned in the last book of the series. We literally got a single chapter and after that, nothing.
We don't even have anything from the show except what's the equivalent of sucking on an ice cube to not totally dehydrate. That and the actors having fun about it in promo stuff. Hell, even if (and I hope the if is a when) they do ANYTHING with this pairing it likely won't be until S4 at the earliest, but realistically not until S5 (you know in 3-4 years if things are speedy).
This is the Louis and Lestat show. Obviously. They come first and that's how it should be. After that we have Armand and where he's concerned it's largely a character study that encompasses more than just his relationships. Obviously.
But ffs, leave people alone when all they have to go off of is some eye glaring. Eye glaring, mini little detail crumbs that could actually mean nothing, actors having fun, and a book chapter from 1988. I have my own Pepe Silvia crazy board and entertain myself based on practically nothing and I am aware that the likelihood of getting anything any time soon is slim at best. But I'm also gonna have fun with it on this the liking stuff and shipping stuff website. The hypothetical fun might literally be the only thing I get.

post san fran Daniel always having a weird reaction to anyone who looks like Armand, sometimes it's just someone with long curly black hair. His heart leaps everytime, he's not sure if it's fear or arousal or both but whenever he sees someone even out of the corner of his eye, he always gets distracted and watches them until his heart calms down because it's not him, he has no idea who hes looking for or why he reacts like this and it bugs him to his core.
The first time he meets "Rashid" in Dubai, he has the same reaction but his heart doesn't calm down until he leaves the room.

do you think armand ever regrets it? not stepping out into the sun while he still could, i mean. when he dragged louis back inside and he was kicking and screaming and he wanted to leave... he thought he did it out of love, out of pity, out of mercy even, like the angel they used to paint him out to be would have. or maybe, surely, he didn't think that. maybe he just tried really hard to. but it was envy, wasn't it, that louis could still choose to get out of their shared hellscape and he couldn't. envy not of louis, specifically, but of all the young ones. of course he couldn't risk making fledglings—that would only mean subjecting himself to eventually look on as they left the curse he's stuck with. when making daniel he must have felt nothing but paralysing fear and existential dread. one thing is eventually losing the person you love to age and illness, one is giving them the power to end it all and leave him behind by choice. armand wouldn't make fledglings for a variety of reasons, but his crippling fear of abandonment has to take spot number one.

We got to see 70's bell bottom Daniel Molloy, but have we seriously considered 1970's counter culture punk Daniel Molloy? With the word fuck constantly on his tongue and a weeks old beer stain on his shirt? Recovering from his trauma by diving into violent subcultures where self-harm is normalized, the drugs are basically free, and anyone at any time will hurt you if you ask them to?
Have we considered Daniel Molloy in 1974, post San Francisco, drugging his life away in some punk den in down town Manhattan because he can't get the taste of the torture out of his heart? Daniel Molloy sleeping around, letting men fuck him in dirty bathroom stalls until he's numb and the only feeling is the warmth from a body that isn't his own?
Or the post 1970's punk Molloy meeting Armand and having the chase years start during the most tumultuous time of his life? When he can barely function without a needle in his arm and several shots under his belt? When he's drowning in his own puke, unwashed and dirty, wanting to die and it shows?

The paralells between Jesse and Daniel losing their connections to family as they pursue the supernatural in Queen of the Damned is really interesting.
It's ironic because Jesse is literally related to vampires and has spent time with them and noticed little oddities, though she does not realize what they are. But she becomes so engrossed in her confidential work at the Talamasca that visits with family become a holidays-or-when-they're-in-London thing, and she stops writing letters because she can't talk about what she's working on (it's Top Secret.)
Meanwhile, Daniel pursues vampires and finds Armand, who then pursues him, and gets so caught up in running around the world that he probably doesn't do much more than send the odd postcard home, maybe make the occasional phone call on holidays. We don't actually know how much contact he has with family during that time but I personally suspect it was not a lot. And once he and Armand get together, he's spending his nights being dragged all over the place, and his days sleeping it off. There's not exactly a lot of time to write long letters or make phone calls at normal waking hours.
We do know by the Night Island Era (1982? 1983?) he hasn't really had any contact with anyone from his previous life for a while:
"It had been years since Daniel had even thought of his family, of the friends he used to know. Checks went out to kin, of that he'd made certain, but they were just names now on a list."
Anyhow, it's just interesting that both Jesse and Daniel get so caught up in the pursuit of the supernatural that their mundane, mortal lives fall away and they lose those connections. Then both of them end up becoming vampires. Jesse, of course, gets to reconnect with her family and her "aunt" Maharet. Whether Daniel ever has contact with anyone in his family afterward is unknown but dubious and unlikely.
I guess the point is that you cannot pursue the supernatural and continue to live a normal life. Which is something we see play out in the series again and again.
