CHRIS WILL BE JUST FINE…
A portion of Chris’ fandom is really mad at him for accepting to be part of a shitshow with such a problematic girl. And rightfully so. But it’s important to keep something in perspective: Chris is going to be just fine.
Stars have gotten away with much worse
I saw this article this morning about celebrities being involved in big scandals. https://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahmarder/wild-forgotten-celeb-controversies
There are many more that didn’t make the list and definitely could have. Even recently, Greta Gerwig’s partner left the mother of his unborn child to be with her. It’s awards season so of course, it has been buried. Same situation with Claire Danes’ sordid affair with Billy Crudup a long time ago.
So many of these Hollywood folks are problematic and have gotten away with it and continue to get away with it.
Their behavior range from the problematic to the horrific and criminal.
Casey Affleck allegedly assaulted a woman sexually and settled his case out of court. He won an Oscar for Manchester by the sea anyway. If people are curious, look at how Brie Larson handed his awards. She knew!
According to Rose McGowan, his brother Ben Affleck would have told her after she had confessed to him that Weinstein (let's not even discuss him) raped her: “I told him to stop doing that”.
Allegedly a former girlfriend of Fassbender pressed charges against him after he violently assaulted her. And I could go on and on.
Many have done much worse than being in a PR relationship with someone problematic and have gotten away with it. So in the grand scheme of things, Chris will be just fine. His “relationship” with Abba will be buried and soon it will be a forgotten memory, only remembered by a small portion of his fandom.
Chris’ darker side
Chris’ history is rather tame compared to all those super problematic people and or criminals that are still on the loose.
But yes, he has made mistakes in the past like everyone else and he has done his fair share of problematic stuff as well. In his younger days, there were rumors of fights and being thrown out of bars. There has been rumors of drug use. There was that messy affair with a married costar during the shooting of Gifted. Also let’s not forget the more recent papwalk in London with Lily James during Covid Lockdown to clean her sniffing cocaine in the park. The pairing of Captain America and Cinderella was a good idea on paper but the execution was atrocious and tactless. It was already a sign of his team’s gross incompetence and miscalculation. There was also the leak of the screenshot of his phone. The d..k pic was all people talked about but some of the other pictures were even more problematic, not as embarrassing of course but more problematic.
Also Chris’ friends and family and Chris himself have trolled his fandom for years. A day before he left for Portugal at the beginning of this shitshow, he tweeted a pic of himself and wrote something like: “I love my fans and Dodger loves you too”. He then hopped on a plane and purposefully filmed a video for that teacher from his hotel room in Lisbon so that his fans (plants?) could place him there. And surprise surprise, there was some backlash on certain platforms and just afterwards he or his team tweeted a picture of him with a bald kid with cancer. It was actually the low point for me. Much worse than anything he did with Abba. I think the picture was 2 years old and I know celebrities use charities to make themselves look good all the time. But using the pic of a sick child for damaged control was as low as you can get. I am not sure he promoted Christopher’s Haven ever since.
And of course, there are still the ongoing shenanigans with the Nazi sympathizing yacht girl…
But like Chris said in an interview the past year, the industry makes you do things you don’t want to do. Hollywood is indeed a snake pit where they sometimes force you to compromise yourself and play certain games if you want to be successful. That is part of the price to pay.
He needed a change in his PR image
Chris was at a good place in his career after Endgame. Knives Out was a huge hit and Defending Jacob got good reviews. He seemed to have diversified but Covid happened and derailed a lot of stuff. Little shop of Horrors was canceled. He didn’t have Marvel to fall back on and he seemed to be at a crossroads career wise and PR-wise. He couldn’t remain the perfect internet boyfriend and play Prince charming waiting for the one forever. He had to evolve into more adults parts as well: husbands, fathers etc.
This is probably why his team came up with this PR relationship and those kinda of weddings. Again it was a good idea on paper because it enabled them to change his image in a natural and organic way. But the execution was again as disastrous as it gets. Abba was not a good fit for him and she was not a good choice especially if they wanted to rebrand him as a family man.
The question remains whether she is the only one who agreed to this charade. Indeed the contract’s terms seem rather drastic. She has never been able to even post anything about him (just his dog) or about marrying him. She has mostly hid for the past years and just popped up for PR events or reasons. And given the GQ event, it's likely she is not even allowed to speak in public. Remember the articles saying she was rude and refused to talk to the media. Who would agree to this kind of contract but a desperate clout chaser with little prospect?
An artist’s career is full of ups and downs. Hopefully, once this is over, Chris will get opportunities to expand on his body of work with more diverse roles. I think Pain Hustlers was supposed to do that for him but even if he was rather good in it, the movie wasn’t. I do think he has the acting chops to do it. Whether or not he will get such opportunities is another question… I am not sure this shitshow would have helped him at all in that regard but time will tell.

2003 Brad Kern talks single Piper
Tumblr media
Good-witch Piper to be a single mom
By Kate O'Hare and Zap2it.comChicago Tribune•Aug 05, 2003 at 12:00 am
Fans who were present for the fifth-season finale of The WB's "Charmed" know that the star-crossed marriage of good-witch Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and her mystical Whitelighter guardian, Leo (Brian Krause), has hit a snag that not even Dr. Phil could solve.
It was tough enough for these two to wed -- in the "Charmed" universe, witches and their Whitelighters aren't supposed to fraternize (although they do) -- and now Leo has been kicked upstairs to be a wise Elder.
His promotion and subsequent disappearance (not death, as some fans feared) have left Piper alone to raise the couple's son, Wyatt. Even though Leo will reappear at some point, it looks as if the marriage is essentially kaput.
"They're absolutely separated," says executive producer Brad Kern. "Once we find Leo, he's still an Elder, and that doesn't change. That'll create a split for them that will force Piper to learn to live life as a single mom, but it finally gives her some hope ultimately of having the normal life she's wanted ever since she became a witch.
"They will not be together, certainly for the first half of the season. But they share Wyatt, so that's going to keep forcing them together. What happens at the end of the season, I certainly have some thoughts on, but I can't share what they will or won't be."
What Kern can share is the effect little Wyatt will have on his mother's social life. While many TV shows play the drama of pregnancy and childbirth, then shuffle the baby off-screen, not so with Wyatt.
"He's going to display a lot of surprising magical powers," Kern says, "even at 9 months old, that worry Piper and her sisters quite a bit and create even bigger challenges for Piper, who's got quite enough challenges just to be a single mom in the year 2003."
Apparently, Piper tests the dating waters. "She's on her own," Kern says, "and the kid is not exactly conducive or helpful to letting her date other guys. When Piper has a date, a lot of strange things are going to happen to that date, until Piper realizes that it's Wyatt that doesn't want her to be dating."
Although it's tough to split up Piper's marriage, Kern thinks it was a necessary development for the show. "Their characters had overcome so many things, and at some point in time, this last thing becomes one too many things to overcome.
"It'll be fun to play Piper single. We'll play her real, as a single mom, but we'll also have the fun for her that her sisters have been able to have fun with, which is dating and not just being the married person all the time."
As for her sisters, Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) continues her long-distance romance with her boss, publisher Jason Dean (Eric Dane), while Paige (Rose McGowan) pursues her dual interests in men and clothes. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2003-08-05-0308050286-story.html

All Who Trick Are Treats in SCREAMBOX Exclusive Slasher CREEPING DEATH
Tumblr media
All who trick are treats in Creeping Death. The SCREAMBOX Exclusive supernatural slasher streams on September 10.
Halloween was always Tim’s favorite holiday – until his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Now, all he wants is a quiet night in. That is quickly disrupted when his friends pay him an unwanted visit after stealing a mysterious sack from the doorstep of a local crazy. This sacrilegious act unleashes the Aos Si, a Celtic spirit that walks the earth on Halloween. They must band together and survive the night or make the ultimate offering… their lives.
Writer-director Matt Sampere makes his feature debut, based on his short film of the same name. Sampere stars with Monique Parent, Alan Maxson, Delian Lincourt, Hunter Kohl, Ian Brown, Elise Rackemann, K Cody Hunt, Andy Horowitz, Jody Pucello and Scott Lea.
A callback to terrors birthed in the mythology of Halloween, Creeping Death is produced by Sampere, Jason Scott Goldberg (Glorious), Erika McGowan, Brenda Block, and Tyler Dane Sutton.
“Since I was a kid, I’ve always loved slasher films and celebrating Halloween,” says Sampere. “I knew I wanted to dive into the holiday’s lore for my first feature, and that’s how I learned about the Aos Si — vengeful spirits related to trick or treating in Celtic mythology. Creeping Death is the first supernatural slasher to incorporate this deity. I hope viewers enjoy my love letter to Halloween, its traditions, and a warning to those who trick.”
Creeping Death joins SCREAMBOX’s extensive library of unique horror content, including Terrifier 2, RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop, Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls, We Are Zombies, Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, The Outwaters, Living with Chucky, Creepypasta, Frogman, and Pennywise: The Story of IT.
Start screaming now with SCREAMBOX on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Prime Video, Roku, Fire TV, YouTube TV, Samsung, Comcast, Cox, and Screambox.com.

My Favorite Movies & TV Shows About Sisters
I already did a list of my favorite movies and tv shows about best friends. As I was compiling that list, a number of movies and shows about sisters popped into my head. I didn’t include them because I thought, “Well, they’re sisters, not friends.” So, now I present a list of my favorite movies and TV shows about sisters!
10. Switched at Birth
Tumblr media
Switched at Birth is about two teen girls who discover they were switched at birth. They both choose to meet their biological families and become forever connected. Though Bay and Daphne are not actually sisters, they become sisters as they now share parents, siblings, and homes. They come from different walks of life. Bay is wealthy while Daphne was raised by a single working Latina mother. What’s especially great is the inclusion of deaf and hard of hearing leads and the use of sign language.
9. Sense & Sensibility
Tumblr media
Pride & Prejudice is usually the most popular of Jane Austen’s novels (and movie adaptations), but I personally like Sense & Sensibility more. The 90′s version has an excellent cast that includes Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant, and Alan Rickman. Marianne Dashwood (Winslet) is the hopeless romantic who wears her heart out on her sleeve. Sensible, dutiful Elinor (Thompson) keeps all her feelings to herself. They fall in love, have their hearts broken, and have each other’s backs even if they don’t totally understand each other.
8. Fuller House
Tumblr media
The original Full House is a better show than Fuller House, but I like the female trio of DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy in the sequel series. Kimmy isn’t a sister, but she essentially becomes one of their sisters and officially Stephanie’s sister-in-law. They all have their different personalities that align with the original male trio in Full House. DJ is the goody-goody, slightly OCD supermom (Danny). Stephanie is the fun loving aunt (Uncle Jesse). Kimmy is the wacky best friend (Joey). We get to see them go on girl nights out, plan parties, serve as bridesmaids, and more. Full House may be the classic, but I think Fuller House is more fun.
7. Charmed
Tumblr media
I haven’t seen the new reboot of Charmed, so this is about the 90s-00s version. I’ll admit the current drama between the two casts has left a sour taste in my mouth. But the original show was one I looked forward to watching with my two sisters each week. We loved that each sister had their own distinct magical power and their own successful careers. I preferred when Shannen Doherty was in the cast as oldest sister Prue over Rose McGowan’s Paige. But watching either trio combat demons while navigating their love lives was good entertainment.
6. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Tumblr media
Even though To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is mainly a rom-com about Lara Jean’s love life, it’s also a sweet story about sisters. The sister relationships were especially wonderful in the books, and one of the things I really loved about it. We see even though Lara Jean has had some sadness in her life, she is supported by her loving family. It’s nice that they are not jealous of each other or resentful towards one another. They may bicker from time to time, but ultimately the love between the three of them is clear.
5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Tumblr media
One of my favorite movies of all time! Just like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, 10 Things I Hate About You is a rom-com that happens to feature a great sister relationship. Kat and Bianca are total opposites. Kat is anti-social while Bianca is a social butterfly. In the beginning we see resentment between the two due to their differences in personality. Bianca thinks Kat is a bitch. Kat thinks Bianca is shallow and conceited. But by the end they grow to respect each other. We see that Kat is actually a very strong, driven, independent woman. Bianca grows from a spoiled rich girl to someone who sees past vanity and stands up for her sister. Also, Heath Ledger.
4. Wish Upon a Star
Tumblr media
Someone brilliant took the concept of Freaky Friday and applied it to sisters. The younger bookworm sister swaps bodies with her older, popular sister. While in each other’s bodies, they both grow into better people as they walk in the other’s shoes. The younger sister becomes more confident. The older sister becomes less superficial and a better student. They both learn to like themselves for who they are and grow closer as they have to rely on each other to switch back.
3. Hocus Pocus
Tumblr media
In the spirit of Halloween, I had to include the Sanderson Sisters. Even though this movie isn’t exactly about sisters, it features one of the best sister trios ever. Winnie is the bossy one, Mary has hound dog-like sniffing abilities, and Sarah is the sexy airhead. They are so entertaining and funny. Classic!
2. Little Women
Tumblr media
I haven’t seen the newest version of Little Women -- though I really want to. The 90′s version was one of my all time favorite movies. It had an all star cast with Winona Rider as feisty Jo, Claire Danes as shy Beth, Kirsten Dunst as young Amy, Christian Bale as boy next door Laurie, and Susan Sarandon as Marmie. They are all wonderful. We see the sisters play together, fight, and grow up. It sticks pretty close to the book, and it has a warm, charming Christmas vibe to it. Now I just have to see the new one!
1. Sister Sister
Tumblr media
Two identical twins discover they were separated as babies after being adopted by different people. They find each other again and move in together. Tia is studious while Tamera is a party girl. They have a pesky little neighbor to deal with along with other high school adventures. Their parents, especially Tia’s mom Lisa Landry, are hilarious. Sister Sister was just a really cool show.

Cineverse Acquires Halloween Slasher Creeping Death for SCREAMBOX Streaming Service
Tumblr media
Cineverse will prepare viewers for the new shape of Halloween with Creeping Death, having acquired all North American rights to the supernatural slasher with plans to release the film this fall across all platforms, including its Bloody Disgusting-powered SCREAMBOX streaming service.
While trying to enjoy a peaceful Halloween with his mother, Tim is paid a visit by his rambunctious, up-for-anything friends. After reluctantly letting them inside the house he becomes intertwined with the circumstances of their Halloween prankings. One that turns out has broken a sacred tradition kept between humans and otherworldly deities known as the Aos Si.
Creeping Death is a callback to terrors birthed in the mythology and atmospheric dread behind the Halloween traditions based in an ancient Celtic past.
Based on his short film of the same name, writer-director Matt Sampere’s feature debut had its world premiere at London’s prestigious FrightFest Film Festival.
Sampere stars in the film alongside Monique Parent, Alan Maxson, Delian Lincourt, Hunter Kohl, Ian Brown, Elise Rackemann, K Cody Hunt, Andy Horowitz, Jody Pucello and Scott Lea.
Creeping Death is produced by Sampere, Jason Scott Goldberg (Glorious), Erika McGowan, Brenda Block, and Tyler Dane Sutton.
The deal was negotiated by Brandon Hill, Director of Acquisitions, on behalf of Cineverse, and Jason Scott Goldberg, on behalf of the film.
