*scuttles outta attic* Headcanon! The christmas toons, whether they disappear or just fall asleep. Still dream, and through these dreams. Astro can converse with them (kinda) and keep them up to speed on some things that happen in the waking world. In a real emergency. Astro can help them "wake up" long before or after christmas, allowing them to pitch in for a few hours at most. Most times this is just to help with maintaining the building so it doesn't collapse atop all of them. Other times, Its' Rudie doing his best to lead lost toons back to the lobby during a entire building black out. Ginger helping Cosmo and Sprout heal up/feed the others. Bobette aiding Dandy in printing the toons, which I imagine takes a toll on Dandy mentally, if not physically. Although Astro acts as a medium, the regular toons can still converse with their holiday kin via their dreams. It isn't certain how much of the dreams they'll remember. But it helps them feel close, even when fast asleep for nearly all year long. *Scurries back into attic* -SKIN ANON

make a comic like dandy and bobette are arguing eachother cause theyre both shopkeepers blah blah blah and i would think astro may interuo their conversation idk just do it cause my brain has no idea to have an au of Dandys world ideas whatever. (like your au btw just struggle to make sime doodle sketch lol)

Bobette and the other event toons are markedly very different in my AU (as is much everyone else lmao).

Since in the setting of Mundane Aftermath toons are not treated like living property and instead are treated like employees in Gardenview (think the costumed employees in Disney World), the event toons don't have that whole thing about going into a catatonic state after their respective holidays are over.

Instead, in this AU, the event toons are just part-time employees in Gardenview. They have their own unique activities and they're available for meet and greets during their respective holidays. After their holidays are over, they're technically free to do whatever.

A bunch of them (especially during the early years) decide to just switch to more behind-the-scenes jobs (office jobs, custodians, etc.), but plenty others take the downtime as a sign to either have one giant vacation or to seek jobs outside of Gardenview.

As such, it's actually the event toons that learn how to be independent and behave more like actual people in the AU earlier than the regular ones, since even before Gardenview closed they had experience with normal life outside of it.

One of the event toons that was frequently away from Gardenview is Bobette! She never went THAT far (save for the Summer where she and the other Christmas toons would go on vacations together), but she was definitely away long enough that every time she returned to Gardenview it was a much different place than when she last was there (in terms of vibes and general upkeep).

I feel like any beef with Dandy regarding shop turf would definitely be in the Prelude part of the AU, as that's when she has dedicated space in Gardenview alongside the other Christmas toons.
