this is very dumb but like. the main toons were made first. okay. we know that. idk how they found out, maybe arthur told them, but the mains knew that delilah could make toons using ichor, and that's what they were.

so long story short, sprout starts begging delilah to make him a baking partner, (no one wants to make food with him frfr) and after a while, she folds

so then the rest of the mains are all "wait a second. holy shit. if he can do that... SO CAN WE"

so then they kept pestering delilah with ideas for toons-

of course, since it got kinda out of hand, they just said no... but then they insisted so they compromised and they were allowed to tweak appearances a bit... (spoiler alert this got removed from their memory so the mains don't know they changed anything anymore)

ahem.

changes shelly made:

- made scraps and goob siblings

- gave tisha freckles

- chose the colour palette for flutter (originally she was gonna look more like her monarch butterfly skin)

- made glisten's bow shape more curved and madd it slightly bigger

- gave gigi long sleeves. they were gonna be shorter originally

changes vee made:

- made scraps' tail and goob's arms extendable and retractable

- suggested giving brightney reading glasses (scrapped, then used for a skin)

- suggested another rock dog like pebble (scrapped, then used for coal)

- gave looey his tail

- gave toodles her hoodie thing

changes astro made:

- gave cosmo his star freckle things because... stars

- wanted finn to have a tail (scrapped, used for a skin)

- gave teagan her fur boa

- REALLY wanted shrimpo to have more arms/legs to be more like a shrimp or at least have 'antennae' (rejected) but it was his idea to have an aquatic animal-based toon

- made connie a ghost

- gave gigi the star on her hoodie... BECAUSE STARS

changes sprout made:

- gave boxten his bandana

- made rodger have one eye

- changed poppy's dress and bow colour to pink instead of blue

- made razdaz's necks ribbons and added the bow in front

- gave scraps the eye clown makeup thing

In the cartoon, Tisha was often seen helping Shelly out when searching for fossils. Especially by cleaning her finds up. However, she also tended to try and wipe dirt of off Shelly if any got on her.

Their toon counterparts can't exactly find fossils in Gardenview, but that was okay. Tisha and Shelly stayed close regardless. Shelly rambles about dinosaurs to Tisha while she cleans up. Tisha theorizes with her about what the dinosaurs were like. They're inseparable.

Can be viewed as platonic or romantic.

So y'all know about that one hc that Cosmo used to be a holiday toon (yule log) who got so popular he got made a normal toon? I have. Some extra thoughts about that.

The brain thoughts is that

1. If he sleeps, he sleeps like a rock.

2. He goes back to 'hybernating' if he's upset. Which is bad beacuase he isn't a holiday toon anymore. And he does. Need to eat like everyone else now. I mean it's easy to pull him from his sulky nap, but. Er. First you gotta remember he's doing it..? It's easy to leave him alone thinking he's sick, and NOT remember the nap habits he has.

3. He does not do well in the summer. He almost died his first beach episode. No lie, he tried to puppy eye Sprout's handler into letting him be inside the fridge beacuase he was dying. (his room has an ac as an accomodation beacuase of this!)

I have a headcannon that Looey used to be a main but he got phased out and replaced when clowns became scary. Shelly was the replacement for Looey and some older fans dislike Shelly due to her being Looey's replacement

Looey after he was phased out of being a main got his own show that only got one season
