Progression (and digressions).

The first post of the year belongs to the one, the only, the boy you've had for less than a month but if anything happens to him you'll murder me slowly and painfully: Lu Ten II.

His travels through the Earth Kingdom with Zuko are some of my favorite moments in the Spitfire AU! We get to see their dynamic truly flourish and deepen before they're reunited with the rest of their family.

But then the Gaang is forced to take care of Ten Ten as they move through the Fire Nation.

Spitfire grows a lot during the course of the story—and not just in height! He's the hope for a better future and the kindness needed to go through the present. I love him dearly, and I hope so do you.

The symbolic bond between a dragon and its rider was something so beautiful and unique in this episode.

The exchanged looks between Meleys and Rhaenys really made me cry,especially the last one.It was like Meleys was trying to say “I did my best,everything that I could to keep you safe and I failed.I’m sorry,goodbye.”and Rhaenys answered “It’s alright.We did our best,together we fought and together we will go.Goodbye.”They belonged to each other,the hug before the war,and the way the Rhaenys would never leave her old girl made me cry.

Also the affectionate bond between Aegon and Sunfyre,really the only living being that shows him some love.The way Sunfyre nuzzled into Aegon chest as soon as they saw each other and the way Aegon smiled so much.Sunfyre who is still a baby in dragon years,that has never touched a battlefield but that tried his best and everything that he could to protect Aegon.Trying to run away from Meleys and sensing Aegon fear and panic.Using his wing to keep him safe from Vaghar fire and twisting himself so that he wouldn’t crush Aegon under him after they fell down.

Vaghar,the old war veteran lady,that couldn’t wait,just like Aemond,to get into the battlefield.It made me smile the way she “huffed” when Aemond told her to wait,that’s was very Visenya of her.Her and Aemond are just the same,literally made for each other.

The cgi in this episode was amazing and it broke my heart😭💔

Visenya wanted to betroth 11 year-old Maegor with infant Rhaena, because of Succession Concerns, and then did have him marry Ceryse Hightower, who was 23, when he was 13. Aegon obviously believed in polyamory.

Jaehaerys and Alysanne also would have betrothed Rhaenyra and Aegon, though Jaehaerys would have just passed her over anyway. After Rhaenyra's first bastard son was born, he would have sent her to Oldtown to become a Silent Sister, like with Saera. Or maybe he would have done it after the Daemon Brothel Situation.

Alysanne while a supporter of Rhaenys, was the one to suggest the Silent Sisters as well as the one to create all those terrible matches. Daemon with Rhea, Daella with her choice of 3 grown ass men in their 40s with heirs, and the similar Viserra situation where she gave the excuse of "Duty". Not to mention the suspicious ass situation with Gael and her bastard.

Aemma also believed in duty, and was raised in the second most religious Seven-related place, the Vale. She also would have been aghast at her daughter having bastards.

Do I think Aemma would like Alicent? I don't know, but she wouldn't have supported bastards. Would Visenya care about Rhaenyra becoming Queen? Well, she would have hated Viserys for being weak and soft.

Alicent WAS the VICTIM in the show. She was made to marry a much older man whom she did not love who martially raped her and gave her children at age 15-16.

But what EVERYONE seems to be fucking ignore is that fact that Aemma was a victim too. Aemma only had a SUCCESSFUL pregnancy at 15. She was married at fucking 11 and had miscarriages before finally having Rhaenyra four years later. Everyone is always infantilising Alicent and making it seem as though her abusive actions are justified because of her victimhood BUT AEMMA WAS A VICTIM TOO. One could even argue Aemma had it worse then Alicent in many ways though i will not be because both of their pain is unimaginable and fucking valid.

Overall, the parallels between them just further my devastation of Alicents continuing the cycle of abuse. Aemma lost a multitude of children, she was married at age 11, her mother died giving birth to her, she nearly died giving birth to Rhaenyra, yet not once did she ever behave the way Alicent did. Alicent lost her mother, was at her powerful fathers command, and felt so fucking alone and WAS THE VICTIM. Yet, she became the victimiser the day she sharpened her pain to use as a knife against others, ESPECIALLY her children.

In the show, Alicent makes it obvious that she will have the final say on her children’s marriage which MAKES IS SO MUCH MORE INFURIATING to remember she marries her 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son. Makes it so maddening after her “queer customs line”, makes it SO disheartening after her own victimhood just to make her daughter a even MORE severely and painfully wronged victim (again pain should never be compared, i only mention this because objectively Helaena was married younger and gave birth younger. Despite Viserys and his fucking pedo rapist actions, he was never violent w Alicent in the way Aegon is with everyone. And MAY I REMIND YOU, Aegon had not one BUT TWO Bastards born on the silk streets in the same moon as his twins birth?)

Why THE FUCK is Alicent always the victim and justified in her actions and Aemma is just given “oh thats so sad”. Why does it seem like no one else notices the wretched mirrors of each other they are yet, the fandom doesn’t seem to give a flying fuck about Aemma besides to throw her death onto the pile of shitty things Viserys did?

Aemma Arryn deserves so SO much more then what we are giving her.

Aemma Arryn was a queen, and a victim, and through it all a loving mother despite never having one of her own.

Aemma Arryn does not deserve to be forgotten so easily.

Alicent put on the green dress and acts coldly towards Viserys (and the rest) because she’s done playing the role of the good little wife

Post time jump, Alicents resentment of the Targaryens has continued to grow and she refuses to marry helaena off to Jace because of her lack of trust and she publicly stands against V (the king) on the subject

Alicent holds a knife to Rhaenyra (the heir to the kingdom) because she’s reached her breaking point after her son got stabbed in the eye and V won’t do anything about it

We’ve been shown that Alicent will go against the most powerful people in the realm if she believes it will protect her children so how did we get to a point where the only reason she will risk everything to put aegon on the throne is because she believes it was V’s dying wish? Her reasoning absolutely should have been “the only way our family will ever be truly safe is if we become the most powerful family in the realm”

Jace, sweetie, you never did anything wrong no matter what some in the fandom are saying, and you are entitled to question your mother because even if she proclaims you as her heir, the stark differences between you and your younger siblings are very apparent and when she dies who knows what will happen to the throne you were supposed to sit on, what will happen to you? Especially given that you are now mirroring your mother when she was younger, being anointed as her father's heir but met with uncertainty at every turn because said father did little to reassure her as well as those she would be ruling over. So no, I don't think you're making things more difficult, especially because the questions you are asking also tie into the succession crisis you and your family are currently fighting. Just because you get a little touchy with your mother doesn't make you wrong!

Day 4 • Favorite Histroical event

The Dance was a war unlike any other ever fought in the long history of the Seven King Kingdoms. Though armies marched and met in savage battle, much of the slaughter took place on water, and…especially…in the air, as dragon fought dragon with tooth and claw and flame. It was a war marked by stealth, murder, and betrayal as well, a war fought in shadows and stairwells, council chambers and castle yards with knives and lies and poison.

About Rhaena's storyline

I've heard rumors about Rhaena's story arc, and I swear to all that is holy if she gets blamed for the little ones being kidnapped or worse, I will lose my shit. I'm scared because the same woman who should have saved that vitriol for Alicent, who made her life hell, will unleash it on the girl she practically raised and show her little to no grace. Also, if the writers are going down the Rhaena/Nettles storyline, I'll doubly lose my shit if she calls for Rhaena's death to "avenge" her boys.

This will set off a domino effect where Rhaena will be written in fanfiction as incompetent or a secret agent of the Greens and the newest punching bag for hardcore Daemyra fans who hate anything or anyone related to Laena. Even worse, Rhaena's character will be completely ran through the mud by show watchers who have never read the book. Also, it wouldn't make sense for Rhaenyra to lay blame at Rhaena's feet because she gave her specific instructions to write to the Prince of Pentos for sanctuary. I don't know maybe I'm worrying over nothing but I pray that this doesn't happen.
