When Robin (and Nightwing, and Red Robin) is kidnapped or needs help, it's not a "damsel in distress" situation, it's a "damoiseau in distress" one. Let me explain.

In French, we have a masculine form for "damsel". "Demoiselle" refers to a young lady, "damoiseau" to a young lord (the age bracket is teen to unmarried young adult). And with how the majority of Robins are boys, they are damoiseaux, not damsels.

But also, the funny thing about "damoiseau" is that it sounds exactly as the word "lady", "dame", and "bird", "oiseau", put together. It's literally like saying "ladybird". And what Robins are? Birds.

Mais vraiment je vous raconte pas la classe de plaies que j’ai , c’est absolument horrible.

Par exemple , les années auparavant, je ne connaissais pas les autres élèves, du moins que de nom alors. Mais la ! Mais c’est la dernière année et , je suis de ce qu’on peut appeler sociable, donc je les connais!

A breakdown of what every character in my au does for a living and etc ✨

Splendorman runs a candy company that has branches in all three of the realms. He employs humans and demons, but keeps his recipes top secret.

True is my protagonist oc. She was a florist before she got chased over the boundary between realms by her literal demon of an ex, Alder. She gets married/mated to Splendor, helping him with things when she can.

Nina is a proxy of Splendor. She runs social media and wears the mascot suit for his company in the human realm. Her marketing is odd to Splendor, but he can tell it’s working well, so he lets her do as she pleases.

Finley is a proxy of Splendorman. Helps oversee the branch in the human realm. Helps out with social media in spare time.

Gage is a proxy of Splendorman. Being a Cambion, he helps with the overseeing of the branch in the demon realm. Helps out with social media in spare time.

Damien is a proxy of Splendorman. Helps oversee the branch in the ender realm. He is mute and communicates through sign language. Helps out with social media in spare time.

‘Fenderman owns a nightclub that is connected to all three of the realms. Is best friends with Splendor. Spends most of his time bar hopping and saving damsels and damoiseaux. He likes fighting.

Kagekao is a free spirited prankster that steals for a living. In a relationship with Fen.

Lorelei is a dancer at Fen’s club. In a relationship with Fen.

Trenderman is a highly sought after designer. After being banished from the Ender realm, he became acclimated to life as a human rather quickly. Becoming a designer that works by commission and sells his works online. True is his great great……. However many great granddaughter.

Jocelyn is a proxy of Trender. Is a shadow demon that is very comfortable in her human glamour. Models and helps with Trender’s clothing line.

Bijou is a former proxy of Trender. Currently deceased. True is her great great…… however many great granddaughter.

Zalgo is the ruler of the underworld and king of demons. Ruling takes up a large portion of his time, but his free time goes to hobbies and spending time with friends and Dark.

Dark Link is the leader of Zalgo’s armies and is also a not so secret lover of the king. The King is not often at war with anyone that is considered a threat worth his attention, but sometimes he fights for the fun of it.

Eyeless Jack the royal medic under Zalgo. Is a cambion, but ended up in the underworld after catching attention from eating human organs. Ended up catching Zalgo’s attention, and after some rather impressively passed tests, Zalgo decided Jack would be a great doctor for him and sent him to learn about the demon body a bit more.

Dina Angels is the royal judge under Zalgo. Dark was the one to find her, bringing her to Zalgo when he learned that this rumored to be freshly fallen abrahamic that was wrecking havoc on the mortal realm turned out to be an actual hybrid with powers they’d never seen on a hybrid before. Zalgo decided her best use would be as his judge.

Slenderman controls a group of hitmen and sells their services in exchange for money, goods and other services. Does dark magic and will sell his services in the art that tend to vary depending on his mood.

Tim/Masky is a proxy of Slenderman. Works best with Brian when on team jobs.

Brian/Hoodie is a proxy of Slenderman. Works best with Tim when on team jobs.

Toby is a proxy of Slenderman. Is good at working with all of the other proxies.

Jane is a proxy of Slenderman. Cannot work with Brian alone on team jobs.

Jeff is a proxy of Slenderman. Prefers not doing team jobs.

Ben is a proxy of Slenderman. Is a ghost. In charge of surveillance of the property, though Slender more often than not knows when someone has breached his borders. Doesn’t go “out in the field” often.

A peine revenu de sa surprise d'avoir vu l'infranchissable rideau de ronces et d'épines s'écarter pour lui faire passage, le prince le regarde se refermer derrière lui. A l'intérieur de la muraille végétale, il s'attendait à trouver une nature dense et sauvage - pensez donc, en un siècle, elle aurait eu le temps de reprendre ses droits. Mais les abords du château et la cour intérieure sont impeccables. Les parterres sont aussi nets que si les jardiniers du palais s'y étaient affairés le matin même. Pas la moindre mauvaise herbe ne pousse entre les pavés. Il est vrai qu'ainsi qu'on le lui a raconté, le château n'est pas abandonn��. Juste endormi, afin que la princesse le retrouve, à son réveil, exactement tel qu'elle le connaissait.

Le spectacle est saisissant. Endormis, gentilshommes et damoiseaux, gardes et marmitons. Endormies, dames de compagnie et filles d'honneur, gouvernantes et femmes de chambre. Même les animaux - chiens de chasse et leurs puces, chevaux et leurs mouches - sont plongés dans un profond sommeil. Pour quiconque, le silence serait oppressant. Le prince, lui, apprécie ce délectable sentiment de solitude. Si seulement son propre palais pouvait être aussi calme ! 

Il pose le pied sur la première marche de l'escalier de la plus haute tour, au sommet de laquelle dort sa promise - tel est le contrat : qui la réveille l'épouse. Un somptueux mariage en perspective. Des milliers d'invités prestigieux venus de tout le royaume et des royaumes environnants. Des gens devant lesquels il va devoir danser. A qui il va falloir sourire. A qui il va falloir parler. Le prince soupire, regarde la seconde marche et, plutôt que de la gravir, s'y assied. Après tout, rien ne presse. On n'est plus à une heure près. Il peut encore profiter un peu de la tranquillité du palais figé et silencieux. Personne devant qui jouer un rôle en permanence, guetté, scruté, le moindre faux pas pouvant prendre des proportions monstrueuses. Personne pour attendre de lui, en tout lieu et en tout instant, rien moins que la perfection. Pas d'emploi du temps minuté, de réunions militaires interminables, de bals soporifiques. 

Et si… et s'il restait ici ? Après tout, nul ne sera surpris de ne pas le voir revenir : tous les candidats précédents ont fini vidés de leur sang dans la mortelle haie d'épines. Sa propre mort était une éventualité tacitement admise. Et il n'y a pas grand risque d'être découvert par le prochain veinard à franchir l'obstacle, vu le taux de réussite. Quant à son royaume… son frère, qui s'est toujours plaint de sa position de cadet, sera parfaitement heureux d'assurer la succession sur le trône le moment venu. Il peut tenir une conversation insipide avec une duchesse pendant des heures ; il accueille les doléances des paysans avec un sourire désarmant ; il embrasse même les bébés lors des bains de foule. Bref, il est populaire. Et il ne rechigne pas à participer aux cérémonies et autres réceptions. Pis : il aime ça. 

Non, vraiment, c'est un plan parfait. Le château regorge de provisions qui ne se gâtent jamais et il doit y avoir quelque part une bibliothèque suffisamment fournie pour tenir l'ennui à distance pendant des années. Le prince ressent bien une pointe de culpabilité en songeant à la princesse mais, bon, elle est endormie, n'est-ce pas ? Ce n'est pas comme si elle se rendait vraiment compte…

Il se relève d'un bond, avec un rire d'enfant qui n'en croit pas sa chance. Pour la première fois de sa vie, il est libre de faire ce qu'il veut. Et ce qui le tente le plus, là, tout de suite, c'est une bonne petite sieste.
