Based on the s1 gilmore girls finale tw: none, literal fluff note: i wanted to write something for him too. might make this a series with diff. characters and different famous movie scenes. words: 1051 (yay 1k!) jujutsu kaisen masterlist

IT WASN'T EVEN CLOSE TO FALL YET AND YOU WERE ALREADY ON A GILMORE GIRLS KICK. You'd been rewatching the TV show along with some other iconic 00s movies and had almost reached the end of season one.

What brought on the sudden interest in the show, even though you usually saved it for your annual start-of-fall-ritual? You had no clue.

(Lies—it had been that one Jess Mariano edit on your fyp.)

Either way, it's not like it mattered, all that mattered was that you were happily bundled up in your little blanket burrito with popcorn and chocolate.

Just as you laughed at Lorelai annoying Michel, a small knock sounded from the door of your dorm.

"Come in!" You shouted, not bothering to get up. It would ruin the burrito form you'd turned yourself into.

"Kelp," Your boyfriend greets, walking over to you with a grin. You immediately open your arms for a hug, "Hey, how was the mission?"

The white-haired boy just sighed and shook his head. "Fish flakes," He replied, falling down on the couch next to you.

You two huddle together under the blanket as you weave your hands through his hair.

Toge sends a confused glance at the TV screen, "Mustard leaves?"

"Huh? Oh, that's the TV show I told you about," You reply, "You're actually perfectly on time for—dare I say—one of the most romantic scenes in cinema history."

Your boyfriend just gives you another confused glance before turning back to the TV. Your eyes are glued to the screen in anticipation.

"Oh, a little background—" A bit unable to contain your excitement you explain—"Basically, they're dating and she tells him that a real proposal should have 1,000 yellow daisies and a horse and yada yada."

You're practically sat at the edge of your seat as the look of realisation dawns on Lorelai's face, and Toge watches you with eyes filled with adoration. Wow, you're adorable.

You swoon as the camera pans around the brunette on screen, letting yourself fall into your boyfriend's arms with a giggle, "Isn't that so cute?"

"A little over the top but so cute." You look up at your boyfriend through your eyelashes and teasingly add, "Now that's how you say I love you."

It's an offhand comment, just meant to be a small joke but it sparks an idea in his head nonetheless. The gears in his brain shifting a mile a minute.

A way to say I love you, huh?

It takes almost two weeks for him to get everything in order.

Placing an order of a thousand flowers is apparently excessive and the maximum of the local flower shop was three hundred.

And getting you distracted long enough to not notice a giant shipment of your favourite flowers being shifted into your room was no easy feat.

Toge had to beg and bribe Maki to go shopping with you and Nobara for an entire day.

Yuji and Gojo, ever the movie lovers and romantics were all for the idea of recreating the scene and even helped fill your dorm room.

Panda tried helped too but eventually gave up when his claws cut through three flower stems.

Megumi just rolled his eyes and reminded his senior that you'd probably give him hell for letting Gojo in your dorm room. (Toge tried not to focus on that upcoming lecture too much.)

Eventually, after an entire day of work and a few cuts on his hands, your boyfriend has managed to ready your surprise and patiently waits for you at the entrance of Jujutsu Tech.

"Ah, I feel like my legs are going to fall off," You complain as the three of you walk up the steps to your school.

Maki nods in agreement, "Now I understand why you guys make Yuji carry all the bags."

Like the amazing boyfriend he is, Toge holds out his hands and offers to carry your bags. And any other day you'd have told him it was fine—but damn Nobara took the words 'shop 'til you drop' a little too seriously.

The white-haired boy holds your bags in one hand and uses the other to intertwine his fingers in yours, leading you away from the now complaining redhead, who's whining about also wanting a boyfriend.

His excitement (and nerves) catch up to him and Toge quickens his pace until he's practically dragging you to your dorm room.

"Toge, calm down, you're gonna burn a hole in the floor at this rate," You laugh, matching his pace.

Eventually, the two of you reach the entrance to your dorm room and Toge stops you from opening the door.

He drops the bags on the floor and makes you stand in front of the door as he stands behind you, placing one hand over your eyes and the other on the door knob.

"Ooh, a surprise for me?" You ask with a quiet giggle, closing your eyes intinctivly.

You let Toge lead you inside, it was only a few steps but you had a general idea of the inside of your dorm and knew that you were standing in the middle.

Your boyfriend removes his hand from your eyes, and they immediately go as wide as saucers.

The two of you were standing in the middle of your dorm room—except it didn't look like your dorm room at all.

The usually plain dorm was now decorated to the brim with your favourite flowers, from small vases on your desk to the garland draped over the headboard of your bed.

You stand completely awestruck at the sight, not moving an inch as you try to process everything around you.

Toge waves his hand in front of your face, snapping you out of your trance. "Salmon?"

"You—you did this?" You ask in disbelief, before nodding frevently and wrapping your arms around his neck, "I love it!"

You pull down the zipper of his hoodie and give him a long, loving kiss, "I love it, I love it, I love it!"

The two of you stare at each other with heart eyes.

"I love you," You finally add in a soft tone.

And he doesn't have to say it out loud. Because 296 flowers filling your rooms are relaying the message loud and clear.

Now that's how you say I love you.

So a fews days ago, @chinirom05 asked me some questions regarding my art and writing, and I told them the question was too good to be just on a DM, because my response might help other creatives/writers.

So to answer the questions...

When it comes to fashion, it really depends on a few factors. Since I’ve mainly done fan art on here, it boils down to ‘What’s the event/time period’ and ‘who is the character I’m dressing up.’ As a bonus, sometimes I try to factor in if I want to pay homage to the character’s ethnicity/heritage (I did this for those TGAMM Aladdin AU drawings for the princess attire).

So I’m going to go WAY back in the past for one example that the CU fandom might recall–remember the CU Tangled AU drawings and fics I collaborated with @princeasimdiya12 ?

While there was inspiration from the movie its based on, I also had to research the time period the movie supposedly takes place in (I think it was around the 1790s if I remember correctly). Edith was the best challenge for this one because there were a lot of dresses to put her in, but I also needed to design them in a way that reflected her character as well as would look good for her body type since she has a plus sized figure. The apron from the first fic was meant to show off her creative side, Her castle dress had polka dots as a nod to her canon outfit, and the ballgown used colors I thought would be good on her–but blue was a necessary element due to her iconic blue eyes. (damn, that was YEARS ago and when I had my old tablet!) Also I loved getting an excuse to research period outfits and creating dresses. George and Harold’s outfits outfits took inspiration from the characters they were based on, but I kept their color schemes and looked up clothes boys might have worn back then.

A more recent example was from the TGAMM fic Her First Forever Friend, and I did do drawings for it, including the example I’m about to talk about. It comes late in the fic (chapter 13, to be specific), but for the moment in question, I wanted to give Molly a new outfit that was meant to be symbolic/reflective of her nature and growth in the story (especially given how limited her wardrobe is in the show). I researched sundresses (or just dresses) for a girl her age, until I found a design I could work with that also looked like something Molly would wear. I also used yellow daisies in her appearance as a theme and for the symbolism behind it (I wanted to use pink lotus flowers at first, but their meaning didn’t exactly fit what I was after). If you’ve read the fic or seen my drawings for the fic (which includes her in that dress), then you’d understand the meaning behind it as well as what the outfit is meant to be parallel to. (Also, if anyone is reading this, do NOT click the link if you haven't seen the series finale of The Ghost and Molly McGee, or read up to ch 13 of my fic.)

If you mean inspiration for fashion… I get it from almost anywhere. For art in general? Well, I started taking inspiration from anime, and then gradually cartoons.

For the writing question… well, it’s not easy. When I have a story, I focus on the ideas and plan things out in my head. However, I might not have the things in between right away, so I might have scenes that take a bit more work to figure out compared to others. There are also some times where I realize an idea might not work so I’ll have to plan it out differently, or I want the story to go in another direction (or I just can’t use an idea).

One good example of this is–again–Her First Forever Friend. I thought I’d be doing a one shot, but it had the potential to be more, so I gave it a go. Here were some challenges:

-Since Molly came to Brighton earlier than usual, how would certain events change as a result? If she’s meant to defeat The Chairman just like in canon, how do I get to that? What’s going to be the big moment where ‘everything changes?’

-Chapter 4. Everyone who read this fic knows this chapter for lots for reasons. As I wrote in my notes, I had a huge decision in ‘who will stay and who will go’ by the end of it. I knew I had a much more interesting story on my hands if I made the choice that I ultimately went with, as well as a really good character arc for someone who needed it… and my readers really enjoyed how that character arc developed. (There’s one line in chapter 6 that best reflects this arc and my readers quoted it in their comments on archive.) In the chapter that came after this, I wanted to put the fortune teller oc in the dream sequence, but I opted not too as it would have made the scene too messy and I needed to keep attention on the three characters already in it.

–When I got to chapter 8, I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but then I realized ‘wait a minute, I’m seeing a problem/plot hole in the future if I just continue forward.’ So I had to give the duo a new problem as well as a way to find the solution–it extended the story to about 2/3 chapters but it was worth it, and I got some good moments to write out.

So yeah, just some examples of my writing process. Sometimes I have things planned, and sometimes I don’t. Especially if I don’t have the entire story arc in my head.

Also, I’ve learned that I need to try to simplify some sentences to make them flow–especially if there’s action in it (a reader commented that my fighting scenes needed shorter sentences to make them easier to read many years back). However, I like going all out on the more emotional moments–if there’s a heartwarming moment in any of my fics, chances are that’s something I loved working on the most and went all out. Also, I’m sorry if you ever need to look up words–I guess that’s the academic side of me wanting to include things that hopefully the readers will look into.

Now if you are collaborating with someone, like I did with princeasimdiya12? There’s a bit of compromise, but I’ve tried to include all of our ideas and put them together. It’s been a long time since I wrote the Tangled CU AU fics and I can’t recall which exact story elements were his at the moment but I made sure to make a note as to which story elements were his. (Also, I’ve seen some collaboration fics where it looks like there’s a scene going on, but everything looks painfully out of order as if the two are writing responses at different or later times, and I can’t handle it.)

Anyway, I hope that advice helps somewhat.

Old memories come up and some tears are shed through and through. They take their time speaking from the heart , and revealing a lot of information that wasn’t well known to the public back then. Old wounds may get re-opened , and salt may get shoved in deep , but that’s what this story was all about. Their band may have not survived the whole ways around but oh they really did go up in flames. A dull thump! came from the fireplace. Theo guessed that it was probably a pile of burning logs collapsing. He rolled onto his side, wondering if there was something wrong with the wood: the smoke was starting to smell a little acrid. He flipped the pillow over, resting his cheek against the cold side of it. His head was starting to feel fuzzy and his whole body felt as if it was sinking backwards. He smiled. It looked like he was about to get some sleep afterall. The blanket resting on his shoulders started to feel heavier as the smell of the smoke got worse.

Crumple

You are Daisy’s shirt. You are an inanimate object and do not have the capacity to think thoughts, let alone to feel emotions and to hate. You have been soaked in a linseed oil-based paint and crumpled around the iconic Sky Cableᵀᴹ which has been stripped of its insulating shell. The linseed oil-based paint is also inanimate and cannot think or feel or hate. It is red.

Flame

“You’re slow, Greenie!” Twig shouted, her voice cracking. Theo almost froze at her shout. This was the first time he had heard Twig sound afraid. He looked up to see her standing in the doorway, the Dwarven Ribbon in her hands and ready. The torch she had held was on the ground next to her, its flame stamped out. Past her, in the tavern, a large wolf emerged from the basement. It turned its head to stare at them, its golden eyes reflecting the sunlight. It bared its teeth and growled as another wolf emerged from the basement as well.

This brought out a chuckle from Ciro. “That’s cute. How old were you?” Ogwut frowned. It was an innocent question, but he found himself shifting uncomfortably. There was a scream. “I don’t know,” he murmured, “I only learned about the concept of time and birthdays a few years ago.” Even the smallest child knows their own age, eagerly announcing it at every opportunity. It took Ogwut what felt like a lifetime just to grasp the mere concept. He dared not look at Ciro’s face, at the expression of amusement or pity that must be gracing it. Sometimes not knowing was better. Sometimes he could pretend Ciro was feeling neither. “Wait, you didn’t have birthdays growing up?” Pity. It was pity Ciro felt. Ogwut could look away all he wanted, but he could not shut his ears. He could not hide from the truth. Another scream rang out, this one closer.

Jevin- GBA Shy Guy Beach (got me boppin my head man, very pleasant tunes)

Joe- SNES Ghost Valley 2 (less a song and more like two minutes of spooky noises being strung together, which sounds like the kind of bit he'd commit to. Beetlejhost)

Joel- Moonview Highway (high energy, kinda crazy, lots of fun and great vibes)

Keralis- GCN Peach Beach (matches his tropical vibe this season)

Mumbo- Koopa Cape (kinda weird. kinda funky. half of it sounds like it's underwater, who comes up with this stuff)

Pearl- Mushroom Gorge (bouncy, lots of personality, lots of layers to the music and lots of layers to the detailing in her builds)

Ren- Aqua Resort (a banger, keeps things insteresting all the way through, a lot of fun)

Scar- GCN Cookie Land (not just because of the cookie shop lol. bouncy tune, a good time for Mr. Goodtimes)

Skizz- Finished Race [First Place] Results (not a course related song but still a banger, giving it to him because he deserves first place, and because I've only got good memories associated with it)

Stress- Daisy Circuit (pretty song, fairly chill with just a bit of a kick to it, reminds me of her brand of chaos)

Tango- Toads Factory (very industrial, fits his base this season. I was tempted to give it to Doc though)

TFC- Wario's Gold Mine (while a chiller track would probably fit him better, we're settling for the Mine One. Still a good song though)

Wels- N64 Mario Raceway (a bit calmer as far as some of these songs go, but no less interesting and fun for it)

xB- DK Snowboard Cross (calm. vibey. could have half his house blown up in demise and still be cool about it)

Xisuma- Block Plaza (fun, and the blocky noise reminds me of tech-related kinda stuff. not exactly reflective of his more naturey build style, but does relate a bit to his minecraft update videos or redstone work)

Zed- Dry Dry Ruins (much like this song randomly switching to a completely different song halfway through, I never know what he'll be doing next)

23. I've answered this one already as well but I can give a different example !!! Otto initially was what I'll call an "unfortunate OC" but who's design and story I've revised and changed ! Since Otto was based on a glass deer sculpture I was gifted when I was younger, his first design was him completely paper white / pale pale gray, the only color in his design was his sweater which had a daisy colored on it. His abilities were similar to what he still has, partially inspired by the abilities a character from the book L'Enfaon by Éric Simard had (I read the book as a little little kid and it made me cry and made me so emotional it’s a tiny book and it changed me forever)

24. Hm.. Probably Ryza. I think they'd be fun to talk to around one or several cups of tea :)

30. Ryza again ! I don't think her father would be too amused by the idea of her having stuffed animals, but they're free to do whatever they want, and own however many stuffed animals as they could want !!! (Though they may still have them a bit hidden… Her followers probably know about it still but they indulge her secret. It makes everyone a little happier hehe)

The March On Washington's Core Ideas Resonate 60 Years Later

On Aug. 28, 1963, a sea of humanity more than 250,000 strong converged near the Lincoln Memorial for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

On that sweltering summer day, the multiracial crowd hoisted signs, and protest songs filled the air. A parade of speakers — among them activist John Lewis and Daisy Bates, who strategized the integration of Little Rock, Arkansas, schools in 1957 and was the only woman on the program to speak — rallied freedom’s cause. Decades later, an event to mark the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington is scheduled today with the theme “Not a Commemoration, a Continuation.” While the 1963 demonstration centered around civil rights, jobs and economic opportunities, Saturday’s event will also address a range of issues including threats to democracy, criminal justice reform and voting rights.

Martin Luther King lll and his wife, Arndrea Waters King, head the Drum Major Institute — a think tank based on the elder King’s principles — and they are organizing the march with the Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, a civil rights organization, in tandem with more than 100 partners.

Below the blue-green waters of the Vietnamese coast lurked a “massive” creature. The animal went largely unnoticed until scuba diving scientists took a closer look at it — and discovered a new species.

Researchers were surveying the marine life of Ha Long Bay in a series of scuba dives, according to a study published June 16 in the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering.

Peering into a “semi-dark” tunnel, they spotted a large sea sponge, the study said. Scattered around shallow rocks and reefs, they collected eight of these sponges.

Looking closer, researchers discovered a new species of sea sponge: Cladocroce pansinii.

Cladocroce pansinii sponges are “generally massive” with a “tubular” shape, the study said. In the “sheltered” bay, the sponges reached about 8 inches in size. Their shapes varied but most had a “light green” coloring.

Photos show several Cladocroce pansinii sponges. One is taller with several thick tubes. Another is longer with skinny, almost vine-like branches. A third, slightly yellowish sponge is shorter and wider.

Cladocroce pansinii sponges were named after Maurizio Pansini to honor “his fundamental contribution to sponge taxonomy,” researchers said.

The new species was identified as distinct based on its body shape and DNA.

After identifying the new species, researchers realized that several other sponge specimens found in Hawai’i and Thailand were previously misidentified but were actually Cladocroce pansinii sponges. These misidentified sponges were “light blue, light gray (and) violet” in color, the study said.

The research team included Marco Bertolino, Carlo Cerrano, Giorgio Bavestrello, Do Cong Thung, Laura Núñez-Pons, Francesca Rispo, Jana Efremova, Valerio Mazzella, Daisy Monica Makapedua and Barbara Calcinai.

During their surveys, researchers also discovered a new species of “shaggy” purple sponge in Indonesia, recorded the first Indonesian sighting of another sponge species and provided updated descriptions of a fourth sponge species.

“Our work expands the knowledge of species distribution along iconic hotspots of the Indo-Pacific Oceans and inspires research on marine biodiversity,” researchers said.

Ha Long Bay is along the northern coast of Vietnam, about 100 miles east of Hanoi.

As far as the rumor about Rey and Ben Solo being cousins, probably the most prevalent reason I've seen stems from the 2018 Star Wars comic Darth Vader #25, in which Anakin Skywalker has a vision of Palpatine using the Force to impregnate his mother Shmi. It's been confirmed by Matt Martin of the Lucasfilm Story Group that this scene is only in Anakin's head, and not meant to be taken as a literal fact (you can read the Twitter thread here), but to this day I see people using it as proof for reylo being incestuous, which it isn't. It doesn't help that there are still a lot of articles and Youtube essays around that cite this comic as revealing Palpatine is Anakin's father, even though we've been shown time and again that Force Visions, Quests, etc. are notoriously unreliable. I'm with you that there's absolutely no actual evidence for Rey being the child of Luke Skywalker either. I think that because the Original & Prequel trilogies centered heavily on a Skywalker and Darth Vader's "I am your father" revelation to Luke is such an iconic moment, many people expected that there would be a similar reveal with Rey and held to that belief even after the movies demonstrated that it wasn't happening.

Rey being a long-lost Skywalker was always based on surface-level parallels that ultimately served to contrast her character with Luke, not to indicate an actual blood connection (e.g. she lives on a desert planet à la Tatooine and has strong natural ability in the Force.) Some claimed Rey looked similar enough to Padmé that it had to imply a familial link, and others wanted to see the mega OP Luke Skywalker of Legends, who also had a child, brought back into canon. JJ Abrams and Daisy Ridley both said in TFA-era interviews that Rey's parent(s) did not appear in the movie, which ruled out Luke, Leia, and Han. Moreover, we learn early in The Force Awakens that Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is the grandson of Anakin and son of Leia, making him the new Skywalker of the Sequel trilogy, but it seems that even to this day there's a chunk of the audience that wants to ignore or downplay that fact.

As for Rey being a Kenobi, the most intriguing evidence to me (pre-The Last Jedi) was a.) that Ewan McGregor recorded the line "These are your first steps" (heard during Rey's Force Vision with the saber in TFA) and b.) that Rey has a British accent. Besides that, I think the Kenobi theory was just a fun one to consider despite there not being much in the actual movies to go on as far as Obi Wan being shown to have any romantic relationships as you said (RIP Satine.) ScreenRant is hit and miss but this article has a pretty thorough breakdown of the reasons behind the Kenobi theory. And hey, Rey being a Kenobi wouldn't make her and Ben cousins, so while I prefer Rey Nobody it could have been a fun route to explore.

We've done a lot w/both of them and they have dynamics I rly love in ships and some of my fav characters between us so it rly tends to just work out that they revolve in my head a lot. Akoni and Chilly just have that RLY good extrovert/introvert thing going on and compliment each other really well! Bc Akoni is rly flamboyant and Chilly is pretty subdued, so Akoni gets Chilly out of his shell while Chilly keeps Akoni grounded...it's a pretty fun mix even if Akoni's antics get them into trouble a lot GKHNGKHKGH Then Matteo and Daisy is just. So fucking funny. And really sweet! Probably one of the sickly sweetest ships we have and I find it delightful. Both of them bumbling over their crushes on each other and not knowing what to do will never not be entertaining, esp with Matteo's Severe Lack Of Social Ability LOL He's so head over heels with her it's rly funny and easy to poke at, literal girlboss and malewife moments GKHNGKHG also once again its extrovert/introvert so yea you can guess a theme with me. 15. An OC that's difficult to write/draw/RP?

Charcoal surprisingly is REALLY hard for me to write consistently! I find them to be really bland when I write gem and it's a struggle for me to make gem rly "stand out" in any sort of way when I try to, which is not very fun. I still need to figure out how I want to write gem and nothing seems to be sticking in a really satisfying way to me currently.

Akim is actually rly hard for me to draw OTL I can never get his body/face type right and how I Want it to be- He's one of my favorite characters but god I struggle to draw him, I'm never satisfied with how he looks in my style shakes my fist. God I Wish he was easier to draw bc I love him so much AUGH

Keiren was pretty difficult to RP with also, idk what it was about him but I just did not have a good grasp on how to write him and I still don't.
