i will never get over how genuinely fucked the tranquil are consistently treated throughout the dragon age games. like i know it's the Point. but. holy fuck.

the way they're treated as "not-quite-people", the way they're constantly put to the side, ignored, abused, and exploited for profit, the way they're killed over and over, especially in inquisiton, and the way it feels so brushed over. and it never really feels like the player reaction is Enough for what is going on in any situation surrounding them.

If you don't complete certain companions' questlines, their adversaries will appear in Minrathous during the final battle:

Aelia will take the role of the venatori war mage if you don't complete Neve's questline

Johanna's construct will appear in place of the juggernaut if you don't complete Emmrich's questline

The Dragon King will appear at the gates during the final defence segment if you don't complete Taash's questline

In addition, Rana, as well as the leaders of the Lords of Fortune and Mourn Watch will try to warn Rook and the companion about the danger by sending them missives.

replaying dai has me thinking about iron bull but more specifically than that, iron bull and his relationships with gatt and krem. both krem and gatt are younger men that bull saved when he first met them, both have a teasing relationship with bull, both clearly look up to bull and idolize him to some degree, and they are both representative of the two pressures he is caught between– his loyalty to the qun and the new individualism he is finding while in thedas with the chargers, namely krem. and then bull's personal quest has him caught between his friendship with gatt and loyalty to krem, and he's not even the one who gets to make the choice in the end.
