Assalamualikum WRWB,
The holy month of Ramadan is just 10 days away which made me overcome with acute nostalgia for the old golden days of Ramadan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia…
I literally have no words how ecstasy would feel. The imam announcing with joy after the Maghreb salah about Taraweeh which gave another level of bliss. The month brought the believers really close to their religion. The arrangement of Iftar  in the masjid for bachelors and the poor workers free of cost really boosted the level of happiness.
It was the time where the whole family would reunite on the dining table for Iftar and suhoor. Looking at the Iftar table gave a delighted feeling. Kudos to our beautiful moms and sisters who made such appetizing food for us, standing for hours in the kitchen’s heat while fasting is really a task which needs high level of appreciation. The samosa, pakoda, haleem, fruit chaat, dahi bade tasted like heaven. The euphonious voices of the imams from the masjid felt so good to the ears.
The reason why I’m using past tense is because this Ramadan is not going to be how it used to be due to the current situation. Apart from the current situation the most depressing gospel is that this is my first Ramadan without my dad. Due to the complete suspension of flights he cannot join us for this joyful month. Miss you Dad :( hope to see you soon.
                              Ramadan Kareem in advance :)
