You turn on the light switch to your small apartment. It was a mess, old take-out containers, glass bottles of alcohol on the counter next to the sink. You lock your front door, slipping out of your shoes and bringing a plastic bag with a few bottles of soju over to the table. Not even cleaning up, you pull a bottle out and open it to immediately sip from it.
You pull your phone out of your pocket as you take a seat at the table, seeing you have several missed calls from a certain Jo Haseul.
“Oppa, you got to talk to her.”
“She’s not talking to anyone. I really think she’s going crazy over this.”
“Oppa… She’s locked herself in her room, Sooyoung is trying keep her calm.”
These voicemails were all from a week ago. You were a wreck. Everything has come crashing down on you all in an instant. You requested a Leave of Absence from work, which was granted for 2 months.
You couldn’t bring yourself to stare her in the face.
Jeong Jinsol.
“I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE!”
“LEAVE ME, DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!
“GET OUT!”
You believed those were the last words you would ever hear from the woman you love, kicking you out of her life.
*Knock, Knock*
You sluggishly get up and walk over to your front door, opening it revealing a certain silver-haired leader of a 12-member group. She looked at you with a smile, while you felt disgusted and just drank another sip of the soju you have in hand.
You didn’t say a word but turned your back on Haseul and walked towards your living room, leaving Haseul free to enter the mess of an apartment. Haseul walks in and closes the door, going through the hallway and kicking around the trash that’s laying on the floor. “Ugh oppa, don’t you ever clean up?” Haseul starts picking up empty chip bags and cups of ramen off the floor.
You completely dismiss whatever she has said and just took another swig of the bottle of soju. Haseul then puts the trash into the big under the sink in the kitchen and walks over to the couch where your sad ass has taken refuge.
“Why are you here Jo?” You lay the back of your head on the couch, looking at her as tears start running down your face. “I miss her.” Haseul looks at you, taking the bottle out of your hand and placing it on the nearby table. “I miss her too Daewon.” Haseul places her other hand on top of yours.
“I regret not telling her.” Haseul’s voice is toned down much lower than ever, this of course is a hard time to be the leader of the group. “You know if you don’t talk to her before we leave, things will never go back to normal.” The leader sat down next to you, trying to comfort, and hopefully put some motivation to see her.
~~~~~
“WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS WITH HER?” Jinsol yells at you as she enters your apartment, as you are following behind her. “What do you mean babe?” You were growing irritated with how Jinsol is reacting. “Why are you always with Jiwoo.” Jinsol’s voice was lowered, she was not shouting. She was trying to stay calm in this situation, trying to keep herself composed.
“I’m not always with her, Sol. I’m with you almost every day.” You were growing annoyed being questioned by her. “Why can’t you tell me what’s going between the two of you. Jiwoo has been distance with us too, this isn’t a coincidence!” Jinsol is starting to get more suspicious by the moment.
“There’s nothing to tell you babe, I just happened to see Jiwoo.” You put your coat away on the coat rack, proceeding to pass Jinsol in the hall leading to the kitchen. “Can I trust you?” Without hesitation, you answered right away.
“You can trust me.”
~~~~~
“Have you spoken to her?” A voice over the phone asks you about Jinsol. “No… I don’t think I should get near the dorm anytime soon.” You tell this person, very sadly. “Do you want to get a drink tonight?”
You look at your window and see the sun setting down, indicating nightfall is coming. “Sure, I’ll come over.”
“Okay oppa, I’ll see you soon.”
You hang up the phone and got up from your couch, walking to your bedroom to open the closet. It’s hitting once again, everything felt so much emptier than before. It’s been a week, a week that Jinsol took all her things back. A week ago, when Jinsol swore she would never set foot in this apartment again.
You can say that your closet really represents what you feel like. Having lost someone so close, your lover, your best friend, but in the end, you had to do what you had to do. You shake your head to bring some sense to yourself. Trying to not think about the past, trying to not think about the way you lost her.
You put on a jacket, grabbing your wallet and keys on the way out. You receive a text holding details of the new address that you will be heading to.
As you leave your apartment, you look back inside. The lack of photo frames, the endless mess that’s taking up the space inside.
Empty.
Just like you.
~~~~~
You walk up to an apartment, knocking on the door while holding a bag of food and drinks with the other hand. “Who is it?” A familiar cheerful voice can be heard from the other size, you smile as you hear that her voice is still as happy as it could be.
“It’s me Jiwoo.” The door opens to a homey looking Jiwoo.
Tumblr media
“You look settled.” Smiling slightly as you see Jiwoo taking the move to a different dorm well. “Come in oppa.” She moves out of the way, letting you in the new dorm. It’s more so a one-bedroom apartment, yet more roomy than your own apartment. Taking in the look of the dorm, there’s still many boxes that have yet to be unpacked.
“Did you call me over to unpack your things?” Looking back at the little peach, but to your surprise, she shook her head. “My assigned manager will come later in the week to help me. I think his name is In-Su?” You shrug and unpack the snacks and soju you brought over.
The two of you sitting at a table in the living room, taking a few shots each and eating little snacks such as chips and roasted nuts. “How’s the new company?” You curiously ask Jiwoo wondering about her wellbeing. “It’s nice, I guess you can say that you’ve been in one agency, you’ve been in all of them. But the CEO… Ree Yong… Kind of a stickler, so into his business.”
Jiwoo continues telling you about the new agency she joined since her relationship with BBC started falling out. “How are you feeling about leaving?” Jiwoo shrugs and leans back a little. “I want to look out for myself, and I’m not leaving the group, it was just a contract dispute.” You shrugged as well as she’s technically not the only one who left.
“How about you oppa?” Jiwoo pours herself another shot of soju, also pouring you one as well. You can hear from the tone of voice that she understands what you’ve been through. “Is unnie still mad?” You just sat there smiling somberly, Jiwoo knew everything that had happened.
The only reason why you had spent so much time with Jiwoo, not telling Jinsol anything was because you were sworn the confidentiality by the new agency she was moving to. Jiwoo asked of you to help her with the move but to keep it a secret from the group until it happens.
“Haseul visited me at my apartment this morning. It doesn’t sound like she’s having any luck with Jinsol either.” Jiwoo can’t do anything other than pout and raise her glass with you. Picking up your glass, you clinked it off Jiwoo’s before the two of you take the shot down.
Meanwhile…
“Unnie, it’s time to eat.” Yerim knocks on the door, opening it to see her unnie, Jinsol still concealed in her bed. “Okay Yerim… I’ll come down later.” Jinsol’s voice sounds broken, a piece of her is missing, you were missing. “Come down soon unnie, you need to eat to be healthy.” Yerim then closes the door and leaves.
Following quickly after, the door quickly opens, causing Jinsol shoot up from laying down. “I said I’ll be-” “Unnie, can we talk?” A tired looking Haseul is confronting the one equally tired Jinsol. “Can I sit?” Jinsol is confused but nods, letting her group leader sit on the bed with her. “Haseul, I-”
Haseul shakes her head and raises her hand. “Just listen to me right now.” Jinsol just stayed silent and stared at Haseul. “Do you know how much of a mess he is right now?” Haseul smiled a little while holding onto Jinsol’s hand. “Well, I can tell you, that the apartment misses you too.” Jinsol snickers a little knowing her ex partner is a real mess.
“Unnie, maybe you should find everything out and talk?” Jinsol looked up to her leader because of course she must be right… Again. Jinsol knew that she had to get some kind of closure, or at least speak to you properly this time.
“I need to talk to him.” Haseul nodded and promptly left the room, leaving Jinsol to do what she needs to do. As expected, Jinsol got out of bed and got dressed. Without a thought in her mind, she leaves with barely presentable sweats, no makeup, only grabbing her bag and jacket.
Sooyoung who happens to be in the living room with her significant other Gungjeun just watches the blonde run down the stairs and immediately out the door. “What was that about?” Gungjeun asks while he and Sooyoung are snacking on chips on the couch. “Bet you a cup of ice cream that it’s Daewon related.” Sooyoung immediately counters with a bet.
“Why do you only make bets when you know you’re going to win.” Gungjeun questions, with Sooyoung give him a pretty smile and tells him happily. “Because nothing will be in between me and my snacks.” Sooyoung says confidently.
~~~~~
Jinsol arrives at your apartment, getting out of an uber. Jinsol was scrambling, feeling flustered, she’s insanely confused of her actions but not as confused of her feelings. She doesn’t know why she’s there, why she’s there to see you. Is to get back together? Is it to clarify why it’s best to break up?
Jinsol breathing heavily, thinking about the last time she was in your apartment.
*Drip*
Jinsol looks up to the sky, it’s starting to get dark. “It really had to rain out of all days?” Jinsol ran towards the apartment, Haseul would totally scold her for not being sensible to bring an umbrella. After taking a deep breath Jinsol enters the lobby still having an extra key you gave her months ago.
In a matter of moments, she’s in front of your door. Jinsol gently knocks on the door still feeling like she should respect your privacy even though she still had your extra key with her. She patiently waits at your door, although one knock turned to another knock. One minute turned to two minutes.
Jinsol knew you would have answered by now, slowly losing all her patience she opened the door with your spare key. “Daewon?” Jinsol called out your name, peeking inside she notices that your shoes aren’t here. “He’s not home?” Jinsol looked around the apartment and damn, it really was a mess.
Jinsol smiles as she remembers all the time that you and she spent, you’ve been in this apartment for years but today, it felt like you’re visiting for the very first time. “I guess I should do something while I wait.” Jinsol tells herself as she takes her shoes off and starts picking up trash all over the floor.
~~~~~
Jinsol has swept the floor, cleaned up around the living room. “Already looking better.” Now Jinsol gazes at her work, keys can be heard from the front door. The door swings open to you and Jiwoo wet from the rain, as she is holding your arm.
“J-Jinsol?” “Oh, unnie when did you get here?”
Jinsol was in shock, you, and Jiwoo? Did it really happen? Two weeks and you were already with someone… You were with Jiwoo. “Jinsol?” Her name, her real name. No more babe, no more Soulie and no more JinJin.
Just Jeong Jinsol.
“Uh… I was just here to…” Jinsol was flustered, she couldn’t think properly. She stared at Jiwoo’s hand around your arm, Jiwoo noticed right away and immediately let’s go of your arm and looked down. “I’m here to return your key.” Jinsol takes the key off her chain and leaves it on the table.
“Wait, Jinsol.” You tried to call her name, but Jinsol rushed out the door, her eyes starting to shine like she’s trying to hold in the tears. “Jiwoo.” Jinsol didn’t bother looking up to Jiwoo. The tone wasn’t cold but more so giving up. Jinsol ran out the door, the tears have come out, the dam has come down.
“Jinsol!” You chased her down the hallway, she reached the elevator, the doors closing before you can call the elevator open. You look back and forth trying to find a way to find her. The end of the hallway, you find the emergency stairs rushing towards them.
Jinsol leaning back on the wall of the elevator, looking up to the ceiling, tears coming down her face. Regretting coming to see you, it should have ended that day when Jinsol left, there was no chance to reconcile and fix things.
You and Jiwoo.
Jinsol should have seen that coming.
The elevator finally makes it to the lobby, the doors open and the tearful blonde inside slowly walks out.  “How could I have been so dumb…” Jinsol couldn’t stop thinking about it, you and Jiwoo being together. The rain is coming down hard although Jinsol didn’t care. She was determined to leave as soon as possible.
“JINSOL!”
Jinsol turns around to see you chasing after her, you didn’t think twice about running through the rain to see the one you care about. “Jinsol, why did you leave?” This new look of concern on your face is noticed by Jinsol, of course knowing you for so many years. “What do you want?!” Jinsol yelled back at you.
“Why did you come?” You searched for answer, she hasn’t seen you in weeks and this is what happens when you two see each other again? “I saw the way she held your arm.” Jinsol looked you in the ear, her red tearful eyes, a look you never seen before. “The way you two were laughing.” You were confused, what did she mean? “How come you couldn’t be there for me like you are for her?” Were you not there for her all the time? You begin to question yourself, when was the last time the two of you went out for a date? When was the last time you had time off from work?
“You were always my priority!” You tried to counter, only wanted to be with Jinsol but work and other things got in the way. “Then why can’t you tell me what’s going on with you and Jiwoo?!” You were quiet, you couldn’t respond to her. “You can’t even answer me that.” With that, Jinsol signalled to a cab that was conveniently come up the street.
“I don’t want to see you ever again.” Jinsol opens the door to the cab seats, and shortly the car drives off before you could react. You were left in the rain, you don’t know what you could have done, what you could have answered. “I should have just told her what happened, whether you were allowed to or not.”
“Oppa!”
You turn around to Jiwoo running with a large umbrella in hand. “You pabo! You could get sick!” Those were the exact same words Jinsol said to you the night you two got together, the night two of you shared your first kiss, the night both of you finally confessed your love for each other.
At that moment it hit you, the tears came out and you couldn’t hold it in anymore. You fell on your knees, Jiwoo panicked, threw the umbrella to the ground, and dropped down to you. She held you, she tried to comfort you, she stayed there for you.
~~~~~
“Are you ready for the article to drop?” The CEO of Jiwoo’s new company asks you and Jiwoo as you’re in an office of a small building in Seoul. “How do you think Orbits will take it Yong?” It’s been about a month since what happened, after that you solely focused on work with Jiwoo. “If the trend of Jiwoo’s popularity keeps rising, I don’t see how this can go poorly.”
Jiwoo seemed nervous, you were sitting next to her, and you grabbed her hand. “It’ll be okay Wooming.” Jiwoo looked at you and smiled, her nervousness went away, and all became well.
In a blink of an eye, the article drops.
“LOONA’s Chuu to leave BBC over lawsuit, opts to open a self owned company.”
“Oh my God, oh my God, it’s out!” Jiwoo jumps up as you, the CEO Ree Yong, and his assistant Byeon In-Su. “Ms. Kim, I must ask you to calm down, I believe this will be a successful campaign.” You just laugh at In-Su’s attempt to calm Jiwoo, the years you’ve known her, there’s no way to calm her down.
Jiwoo still staying panic mode, both Yong and In-Su watching as she’s in a panic, but you finally step in. “Jiwoo, shouldn’t you get ready for the opening celebration?” Jiwoo heard you quite clearly and stopped panicking, took a deep breath, and nodded. Yong nodded at you in thanks for calming the young peachy girl “In-Su please take Ms. Kim down dress and makeup.”
In-Su accepts and heads to the door to open for Jiwoo, before leaving she goes up to and gives you a hug. “I’ll see you at the party.” You hug her back and you nod. Both Jiwoo and In-Su leave, you sit down in a chair, sighing slightly.
“Daewon.” You look over at Yong who’s going through his laptop, over the last month you, Yong, In-Su, and Jiwoo have met quite a few times during the month, Yong even meeting a certain bunny we all know and love. “I need to let you know that the rest of the group will be attending the party.” Rather than telling you that they’re attending, Yong is warning you.
You look down, but back up with a small smile. “Well, it was bound to happen.” You knew you must face it eventually, especially working for Jiwoo instead of BBC now. “Is Heejin still pining?” You joke with Yong, he may have a cold and serious demeanour, but he is quite entertained with the shenanigans that have been going on the past month or so.
“Shouldn’t you prepare for tonight?” Yong reminds you as you notice he has a little smirk. “Should I be worried?” You knew something is up, it’s just the matter of what it is. “Here’s the seating plans.”
Table 1:
Heejin (Of course) – Yong – In-Su – Jiwoo – Daewon (You) – Jinsol – Yerim – Jung – Jungeun – Jae-Sun – Sooyoung – Gungjeun.
Table 2:
Hyunjin – Jin-Ho – Vivi – Haneul – Yeojin – Taesuk – Haseul – Min-Joon – Chaewon – Taeyang – Hyeju – Jiwu.
Your eyes widen, looking up towards Yong in shock. “Yong!” You yell in a panic, but Yong stays calm in his chair and shrugs. “You don’t need to show up you know.” The cold CEO casually says, it would be better if you didn’t attend although you can’t leave Jiwoo on her lonesome.
“Looks like I’m stuck.”
Meanwhile…
“Girls, table seating plan just came in!” Heejin calls out the girls while she’s sitting at her laptop, receiving an email from Yong… Well Yong’s business email. “Since when did you get group related emails ahead of Haseul?” Sooyoung walks in eating a pack of chocolate pocky. “Since I started annoying him with Jiwoo unnie.”
“Oh my God…” Both Heejin and Sooyoung stare at the open email and smirk at each other. “Tonight, is going to be fun unnie.” Heejin giggles while Sooyoung can only smirk while eating her pocky. “I think us being in the same table to watch up front is going to be a treat.” Sooyoung says as she snaps a pocky in half in her mouth.
~~~~~
“So, Jiwoo really did start up her own company.” Jinsol casually says as she’s scrolling through her phone in one of the cars taking the group to Jiwoo’s new company’s building. “Yeah, to think this all started with a lawsuit.” Haseul who is pleasantly surprised that Jiwoo was able to pull this feat.
“Are you okay with attending Sol?” Sooyoung sitting in the back with Gungjeun and Heejin, the only reason why Sooyoung is asking in the first place is because she knows for a fact that Ms. Blondie sitting up front has not seen the seating plan, otherwise she would not even bother with this event.
“Of course, Jiwoo is still my friend and one of our members!” Jinsol tries to reassure the members and member’s S/O that she’s 100% okay with being there, though Jinsol isn’t holding a grudge towards Jiwoo, but a sour taste was left in her mouth every time that Jinsol would think of Jiwoo.
“Of course, Sol, we’re all there to support her.” Min-Joon (Haseul’s partner) who’s driving the car, accepts what Jinsol says and believes that she’s telling the truth. Joon looks in his mirror with Jinsol in the refection, the two smile at each other.
~Flashback~
“Have you spoken to him at all?” Min-Joon whose friends with Daewon back in high school, asks their other companion of being in the chaotic lives of the moon girls, Gungjeun, Sooyoung’s partner. “I haven’t, that day Jinsol came back in the rain, it was scary.”
“I tried calling him, he didn’t pick up.” Joon is now in a panic for his childhood friend, he doesn’t show it on his face, but his actions do. Joon is standing in front of the window, staring into the sky. Haseul is worried for both Jinsol and Daewon, a member and a friend who’s worked with them since the beginning and all went to high school together.
“How do you think Jiwoo is doing?” Gungjeun asks out of curiosity, worried for the missing’s member’s wellbeing. “I don’t think Jiwoo is having a good time either.” Sooyoung frowns as she misses her best friend who isn’t in the dorm anymore.
“We just have to do our best to support Jinsol right now.” Joon says looking back at the table consisting of Haseul, Gungjeun and Sooyoung. As they all agree, nodding towards Min-Joon.
~Present Time~
“We’re about to start.” Daewon enters Jiwoo’s change room, knocking first and getting permission of course. Jiwoo looks in her large vanity mirror, with you in the reflection and smiles. “I’m nervous oppa.” You look into Jiwoo’s eyes through the mirror, and you can see the worry in her eyes.
“It’ll go well Jiwoo; you have nothing to worry about.” You walked up to Jiwoo and put your hand on her shoulder, she smiled and pulled up her hand and rested it on yours. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath and looks up to you. “I hope so.”
*Knock knock*
“Ms. Jiwoo, it’s time to greet the guests.” Yong’s assistant In-Su is standing in the doorframe of the changeroom, you and Jiwoo look at each other and know that there’s no going back now. “Let’s go Ms. Kim?” You playfully put your hand out like you’re going to walk the Queen out to her horse drawn carriage. “Let’s go.” Jiwoo says softly taking your hand in the same action.
As you take Jiwoo out to In-Su, you head to the other direction heading to the main hall where the event is taking place. You pull up your phone to look at her contact.
JinJin <3
You never dared to change her name on your phone, but you thought about the last month.
Was there going to be another chance?
Can she forgive you for what happened?
Will she understand?
Does she still love you?
JinJin <3|
It pained you but you eventually had to do it.
~~~~~
“So, you are alive!” You and Gungjeun shares a little man hug, Joon as well shortly after. “I’m sorry for not picking up your calls or messaging, I was more or less preoccupied.” You look behind the boys to Jiwoo smiling and seeing the other Loona members. Although when looking in the direction of Jiwoo, Jinsol happens to pass by and awkwardly makes eye contact with you.
Your smile falls from a normal one to a hurt one, you friends notice this sudden change in vibe. “It’s okay, we just got to get through this night, and we can go along with our lives.” Joon puts his hand on your shoulder trying to comfort you.
But that’s the thing.
You don’t want to go back to a normal life, you want your chaotic life you had with Jinsol. The hugs and cuddles, the adventures you two had together since kids. A person you spent your whole life with and it’s over.
“Yeah, I guess so.” You just had to accept it. But you were extremely weary of what’s yet to come due to some… Unusual seating plans. “Let’s get seated? I believe us three are at the same table?” You try to change the subject as you dread the upcoming event. The boys agree and all sat down and caught up with each other.
Jiwoo and Jinsol has greeted each other but more so respect that they’re members in the same group, there was still a large amount of tension between the two and the rest of the members really feel it as well. “Is it me or does it feel like the place is much smaller than how it actually is?” Heejin quietly asks Sooyoung, who nods and agrees.
The night went on as it should, but the awkwardness is starting to rise high between Jinsol and Jiwoo. The greetings have ended, both Yong and Jiwoo take the stage of the auditorium in the building, everything is going fine and well… Other than the fact that you and Jinsol are sitting next to each other.
The table is silent, more so for the respect of Jiwoo and Yong going through the opening pleasantries with all the ones who attended.
Once when the opening announcements were over, both Yong and Jiwoo join your table while noticing the awkward tension around here. Servers have appeared and started serving guests their choice of chicken or beef, everyone getting their preferred orders until.
“Sorry ma’am I only have chicken left.” The server apologized to Jinsol as she requested for a beef dish, but it seems like the kitchen miss counted.
“Oh.”
You know that “Oh” that was a disappointed “Oh”, and of course Jinsol, didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and just accepted it. You can tell she was disappointed and felt lost, not knowing what to do.
You looked at your untouched plate and awkwardly tried to talk to Jinsol. “Hey.” Jinsol heard you, but decidedly ignoring you. “Hey.” Jinsol acknowledges that you’re trying to talk to her, but again ignoring you. You roll your eyes as you know Jinsol is giving you the silent treatment, you went ahead to grab her plate.
“Yah! What are you – Oh.” Jinsol watches you giving up your beef plate for her chicken. “Thanks.” Jinsol thanks you but doesn’t look at you, but you know she is thankful that you have done that, otherwise she’ll be complaining for the whole night. While on the other side of the table, Heejin and Sooyoung are watching everything that is happening between the two of you.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Jinsol resentfully said to you, it was uncalled for but hey, she initiated a conversation. “But it seems like you’re happier with that rather than with this.” Jinsol doesn’t want to admit she is happy with your actions. “Whatever.”
You: 1
Jinsol: 0
“At least I stay loyal to my first choice.”
Ouch.
You: 1
Jinsol: 1
You didn’t have a comeback for that, you sort of just sat there in silence eating. You looked around and saw some unfamiliar faces sitting with some members. “Did the other members meet some people?” Jinsol rolled her eyes but decided to continue with the conversation. “The one sitting next to Chaewon, the guy she’s fixing the tie for, that’s Taeyang. A part time arts director at the college, recently hired as a stylist.”
You nod along, you’ve been away from BBC for so long that you haven’t gotten familiar with the new hires. “And this is Jung oppa.” Yerim with her bright smile, shows her partner. “Hello!” Jung, equally as bubbly and bright as Yerim. “Yup, they’re definitely a couple.” You nod respectfully to greet Jung. “And you remember Haseul’s younger brother?” You begin to get more invested in this. “Yeah… Vivi unnie fell for a young guy.” That was little shock for you.
As the dinner went on, Jinsol and you continued talking, it’s gotten less and less awkward. Jinsol had caught you up with everything that’s happened with the members. “What about you… What’s new in life?” Jinsol oddly asks you.
“Well since the debut of the company, I don’t need to comply with an NDA that I signed… About 3 months ago.” You finally dropped the news to Jinsol that you couldn’t before, with the shocking reveal, Jinsol makes eye contact with you for the first time since… That night.
Nothing was said, you continued to eat your meal, Jinsol did the same.
Feeling regretful of what happened, she had no idea about you signing an NDA. Well, that is a supposed reason for being so secretive. “Ah that’s why he’s been with Jiwoo so much, he couldn’t say anything at BBC for what Jiwoo was doing.” The newfound knowledge is hitting Heejin as she and Sooyoung are enjoying watching this drama unfold.
Sooyoung and Heejin clink their wine glasses together, having the time of their life with front row seats of the new and current K-Drama they call “Jinsol and You.”
Dinner has passed, the welcome greetings are all done, it seems to be a casual thing now with ballroom dancing being open to all guests. Jiwoo is out there with Jungeun, Sooyoung and Haseul, Vivi is trying to teach Haneul to properly slow dance while not stepping on her feet, Heejin and Yong are having their drinks at the open bar on the other side of the hall.
Sooyoung’s and Haseul’s partners, Min-Joon and Gungjeun are sitting at the table having their coffee, while you? Sitting where you have been sitting all night. Jinsol? With Yerim and Jung. “You know you’re always in your own little world?” Joon sneaks up behind you with Gungjeun as all, shocking back into reality.
“Yah, what else am I supposed to do?” You try to defend yourself, although very poorly, but both of your friends know you’ve been thinking about something, well someone, all night. “We know you’re dying to have a moment with Jinsol.” Of course, they knew, these are your closes friends from the rest of the group, considering you only found out about half of them tonight.
“Why can’t you approach her?” Gungjeun asks, although Joon gives him a little stare. “Yah, you can’t outright just ask that, this kind of thing takes time.” And here you are, in the middle of them arguing of how you should go about your night. You lay your head down on the table in frustration.
“Excuse me?”
The two men arguing go silent, while you don’t bother to bring your head up. Both Joon and Gungjeun smile and get up from their seats, “Good luck” they say before leaving you. In confusion, you lift your head off the table and turning around behind you.
“Would you care to dance with me?”
Jinsol in her bright red dress, really a different choice for her as to oppose her normal black dresses. Jinsol put her hand out and with a smile on her face, she wanted this dance with you. “Sure” You took Jinsol’s hand in yours, smiling back at her as you get up from your chair. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you to dance?” You jokingly said.
“You weren’t getting your ass of your chair all night.” Jinsol retorted back, of course she would have the winning comeback. “Yeah, that’s on me.” Your reply making Jinsol giggle.
Both you and Jinsol arrive to the dance floor and proceeded to get in a position to go along in a slow dance, her hands on the back of your neck, yours around her waist, just like the way you two danced with each other many, many times.
The eye contact between you two is electric, the smile on both of your faces is sickening to look at if you hated what couples look like when they’re happy. It was the first time you seen Jinsol smile to you, about you, in months. It was the first time Jinsol felt warm towards you, happy for you just as long.
“I finally understand why the last few months were rough.” Jinsol was the first to break the silence. “It’s not that I didn’t trust you, I was scared what could have happened legally.” Daewon explains to Jinsol, she’s finally understanding everything and nodding along. “With the ending of Queendom and the Flip That promotions, both of us were stressed and tired. I get it.” You can see Jinsol’s eyes tearing up ever so slightly.
“What will you be doing now?” Jinsol asks, you pretend to look deeply in thought to try cheering up Jinsol, which ended up working making her giggle. “I will be working part time for both BBC and Jiwoo’s company for the time being.” You explain to Jinsol your plans as the NDA you signed months ago is now voided with the official opening of the company.
“Then I guess you won’t be coming on tour with us?” Jinsol frowned a little as she can already guess your answer. “I’m sorry Soulie, I have my duties here with Yong and Jiwoo.” Jinsol just nodded and slip her arms from behind your neck to underneath your arms, essentially hugging you with her head resting on your chest.
You bring your arms together around Jinsol, hugging her back. “I miss you oppa.” She quietly says while the two of you are swaying slowly back and forth as the music plays in the background. “I miss you too Soulie.” You rest your cheek on top of Jinsol’s head, facing the same way as she is.
“Do you think it would work out… If we got back together?” Of course, that question was eventually going to be brought up. There was no avoiding it, there was never a subject that bothered you through your life, but being anything that involved Jinsol, it was always something that bothered you.
You kept swaying back and forth with Jinsol, your holds on each other eventually turned to full on hugs. Jinsol can hear your heart beating, how hard it’s beating, the nervousness that’s in you. Jinsol can hear that. You felt her grip around your back tighten up, you knew the lack of an answer is telling Jinsol that it wouldn’t.
“Jinsol.” Jinsol moved her head away from your chest and looks you in the eye. “It’s okay, I know.” Jinsol brings her hand up to your cheek, her smile slowly slips into a frown while you try to keep a smile on your face. “I still love you Soulie.” Little drops of tears start falling from Jinsol’s eyes. “I still love you too.”
“Keep dancing with me?” You ask, trying to keep this moment together while it’s still here. Jinsol nods and places her head back on your chest. You try to hold back the tears, you had to be strong for her, this is the choice you made.
The night went on, the later it gets more guests are departing, as each song play, the two of you continued swaying back and forth in the same spot.
.
.
.
.
.
“Should we stop them?” Sooyoung asks, Haseul shaking her head. “You can head to the van if you’re tired, I think she needs this.” Sooyoung nods and heads to the van outside, Gungjeun going along with him. “You can go, I can keep an eye on them.” Haseul’s partner Min-Joon offers as he pulls a chair next to Haseul.
Haseul lays her head on Joon’s shoulder. “Remember when we were so lost without each other?” Joon smiles slightly, knowing that Haseul ignored his questioned and continued to stay here for her member, no, her sister. “I remember jagi.” he reaches down for Haseul’s hand and almost by instinct, her hand was looking for his until eventually intertwining.
The current song comes to an end, the next song coming up shortly.
Haseul and Joon watch the young broken up couple continue dancing in the middle of the floor.
They were the only ones left on the floor.
~~~~~
It was the next day, you, Yong, In-Su, and Jiwoo take a trip to the airport to see off the other 11 girls to leave for their first world tour.
“Ah!!! Good luck! I’m going to miss you!” You swear you can hear Jiwoo screaming from one end of the airport all the way to the other side. “Yah, Jiwoo, you’re seeing them off, not trying to bust ear drums!” You complain as Jiwoo is possibly breaking everyone else’s eardrums around in the airport.
“Oops, sorry! I’m just going to miss them for the next two months.” Jiwoo pouts as she holds both Heejin and Jungeun in her arms. “Just let them be, I know I’ll miss you too.” Jinsol comes up next to you, understanding what Jinsol is saying, you nod and smile.
“What did you pack?” You turn and face Jinsol who is wearing a corgi themed neck pillow, in all grey sweats and socks and slippers. “Just clothes to sleep in and to go out in, my Switch, toothbrush, washroom essentials…” Jinsol went on and on about her list of things she packed, you smile knowing that Jinsol really grew up knowing how to take care of herself.
“Hey Soulie, I brought you a bag of snacks to take on the plane. I know how picky you are, so I picked out your favourites.” Jinsol smiled and accepted the bag. “Thank you.” Jinsol drops the bag down gently, and proceeds to give you a hug. You take the embrace and hug Jinsol, knowing that it’ll be two months without her presence.
“I’ll call you everyday.” You chuckle at Jinsol’s never ending clinginess, even though you two aren’t together anymore, she’s still your childhood best friend. “I won’t be going anywhere Soulie.” You tell her so she can feel more assured that everything is okay now, things can be made up between you two, but of course.
There’s always going to be that feeling of “what if.”
What if the two of you never broke up?
What if the two of you got back together?
“I’m going now.” You let go of Jinsol and she does the same. She smiles at you before picking up her bags and walk off to the gate with her members. You and Jiwoo start waving to the members a few of the boys who went on tour with them. They’re all looking towards you and Jiwoo waving at them, except for one.
Jinsol.
In a few short moments, everyone disappears into the tunnel.
“It’s going to be a long two months Jiwoo.” You continue staring at the gate, you were going to wait till the plane took off but there seem to be a weight on your shoulders that you can’t get rid of. Jiwoo didn’t say anything because she knows how you feel, seeing Jinsol like this, just making up the night before and only staying as friends.
.
.
.
.
.
“WAIT!!”
You heard a yell out of the tunnel, shocking you, Jiwoo and even the stone-faced Yong and In-Su who are in the distance waiting for you and Jiwoo.
“WAIT!!”
You turn around to see the source of the yell being a Jinsol doing her signature dork run from the tunnel to you, reminding you of the same night she found you alone in the park.
“Jinsol?!” You watch Jinsol run past the flight attendant at the desk and through the gate, although it seemed like Jinsol completely forgot she’s wearing slippers instead of regular shoes which the tip of the slipper gets caught on the ground, causing her trip and fall face flat.
“Omo, Jinsol!” You panic and you run past the lane dividers to a fallen Jinsol. You get down on both your knees, watching Jinsol also gets up on her knees.
In the moment of staring into each other’s eyes, both of you break into laughter.
The first interaction the last two days with her and it’s not awkward.
The first genuinely happy feeling between both of you.
“You’re crazy, you know that?” Amid the laughter, you really did expect Jinsol to be teary eyed and in pain, but it seems that the fall wasn’t that hard.
“I didn’t want to leave feeling any regret.” The laughter ended, Jinsol started holding your hand as she started speaking. “You’re my best friend, always had been and always will even if we’re not together anymore...” You went ahead and held Jinsol’s other hand as well as it felt like the moment. “Jinsol, before you leave, I just wanted to say…”
“I love you.”
You and Jinsol said simultaneously.
The incredible weight taken off your shoulders, Jinsol’s as well. Jinsol then leans in and kisses you on your cheek, just like how you two always did before even before getting together.
Your cheeks began to glow a very flushed red, not caring about how you look, you smile after Jinsol pulls away. “Get up from the dirty floor!” Jiwoo yells in the background, catching both yours and Jinsol’ attention to finally stand up.
“I’ll see you once you get back.” Jinsol nods and smiles. “I’ll see you.” Is all she said to you before slowly walking away that turned into a full run again, but this time inside the tunnel towards the plane. You start waving and this time she turns her head and waves back at you before disappearing inside the tunnel.
“Two months.” You thought to yourself knowing now instead of two long months, it’ll now be in two short months. The feeling of having someone wanting to come back to you really changes how you see everything.
~~~~~
Some time in the future.
“I don’t think this is working.”

Daewon: "Nice turtleneck. When's the next seminar, Professor Jihun?" he smirks.
@bottleofbabes
"It was a stupid photo thing I had to do! Stop laughing! It was one time!"
Tumblr media
He elbows Dae in the ribs, pulling his phone back and locking the screen. "That's the last time I show you a picture of anything. Besides I'm sure you have your own embarrassing pictures. Should I ask your brother? Or uh...who's that other guy I met? Seojin? He doesn't seem to like me though."

Braked, Trifled | Han Jisung
Tumblr media
Genre: slice of life, college au
Pairing: Han Jisung x fem!reader
Word count: ~1.5k
A/n: Masterlist in bio~ | Based on true events ♫
- ♫ - ♫ - ♫ -
[12:11 오전]
The inertia that pushes your car forward makes your head spin. Like being on a roller coaster that stops all too quickly.
“What was that?” Your friend asks, turning around. “Did you just hit the brakes hard?”
Your eyes travel up to peer through the rear view mirror. “No…” you speculate, watching as the shadow of a tall, 20-something year old boy steps out onto the curbside. Your vision narrows. “Some punk just hit me.”
It was just after midnight. Your friend Daewon’s birthday was today, and to surprise him you and your other friend Junyong made plans the previous afternoon to throw him an all-day surprise party, along with the rest of their rookie college music group, Noir. Your town’s local Dunkin’ Donuts was just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road from campus, and being a Tuesday night with a new semester just around the corner, you weren’t expecting anyone to be out, especially at this hour. Even so, there were plenty of better places to go for partying than...a local 24/7 donut shop.
Which is why you were baffled to find the rival enemy, Han Jisung of the infamous 3Racha and Co., quarreling before your newly-imprinted bumper.
"Han I told you for the last time that's the accelerator! Dang it, I should have listened to Chan and not let you drive—“
"How are we gonna tell this to Minho…it's his car..."
Han waves his hands peacefully before the crowd. “Okay, okay,” he states, looking back at the imprinted [car model]. “Everything’s fine, it was just accident so— sh*T WAIT I USED CHAN’S LICENSE!” He suddenly huffs, making an elaborate 180 in behavior to stamp his foot like an immature child. “You're the one that wanted donuts at 12 am!!!” He accuses, pointing to an orangish-blonde boy. Definitely a part of the squad, but not one of the 3Racha fiends.
Freckles huffs back. “Well EXCUSE ME FOR WANTING TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL DONUT DAY!!!”
"THAT'S NOT EVEN A REAL THING!” The one from the passenger’s side erupts; another groupie. “BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!!!"
“Aaaah,” Han groans, palm on his forehead. “Okay, Seungmin’s right, we need to calm down. Like I said, everything is fi—“
“It’s not fine,” you cut in, glaring. Han jumps, seeing as you appeared to be a ghost behind the glow of taillights. “I’m pulling up over there.”
You point a couple parking spaces to the left of the drive-thru, and he nods, swallowing. A nervous glint about him. Ignoring your late-night drinks and dozen Boston Cremes, you pull up to the designated area, sighing as your head hits the steering wheel. Junyong pats your shoulder solemnly. “It’s okay. We’ll get through this. It’s just a fender-bender, so you don’t have to tell the insurance company— I’m sure he’ll agree,” he added, nodding behind him. He turned his head to glare out the back window. “...But seriously, who hits a car in a drive-thru? You’re supposed to inch forward, not ZOOM like Speedy Gonzales...”
Wasn’t that the truth... Shrugging, you open the door, preparing to rendezvous with the enemy. In all truth, in all honesty, you were annoyed at the notion; but the fact that it was Han Jisung, well, that made you livid.
He was, after all, the boy that had instigated war between the two groups; by stealing Seunghoon’s file, and writing his group’s name on it as the demo for their music final. He stole Noir’s song, and made it their own. And nobody stopped him.
“I’m so, so sorry…” he starts, walking up with your order. “Here’s your stuff…”
You take it from him stiffly, passing it to Junyong, who came running up beside you. Sensing the awkward tension, he dips back to the safety of the dented vehicle without a word, gulping his Matcha Latte down.
“Gimme your info,” you demand, wanting to keep this short. Han begins to sweat.
“Uuuh…” he nods, slowly, and juts a thumb over his right shoulder. “R-Right, lemme just—“
“Here,” one of his friend’s says, extending a piece of paper. He has brown hair and matching eyes, paired with a calm, logical aura. You’re pretty sure you heard Han call him Seungmin. “I wrote it all down for you. If it’s alright with you, we’d like to keep the insurance companies out of this situation, so...we’d be happy to pay for the damages out of pocket. We’re very sorry.”
“Hmph,” You scoff, snatching the paper. As genuine as he may seem, it’s probably a fake number, with a false address and a made-up company name. Some forged on-the-spot license numbers. You glout over the paper and nice handwriting.
“Something wrong? Did I forget anything?”
“Show me your license.”
Han flinches, Seungmin remaining very still. Their faces both harden into something frantic. “...Well...” Seungmin begins, “...about that…”
“You don’t have your license?” You frown. “You could be arrested for this, you know.”
Han chuckles nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “Ha-ha, yeah, I-I know—“
“Then why were you driving without it?” Your arms cross. “You should always have it on you, always. It’s careless to leave it at home, or in another car, or somewhere else...what are you laughing about?!” You holler, whipping over your shoulder.
Junyong covers his mouth, bowing his head so only his eyes peer over the hood. He takes an exaggeratedly loud sip of his Matcha Latte. “Nothing!” he shouts, “It’s just...” ...Sip. “...you kinda sound like his girlfriend or something, scolding him like that.”
“Huh?!”
“Oop!” He quickly ducks back into safety. You sigh, overly annoyed and done with it all.
...Zen, Y/n. Totally zen.
“...I’m...sorry,” you manage, biting the side of your tongue. Apologizing to the enemy should be treason! “This is just such a pain. But I understand it was an accident.” You look each of them in the eye. “Are you okay? No one was hurt, were they?”
Han opens his mouth to speak, but his buddy stops him, covering it in an odd fashion. “We’re fine,” he insists, smiling. “And, again, we’re so sorry about this.”
“...Right…” You rummage through the bag around your bodice, flipping out your mini planner and tearing off a page. “Here’s my information. You can call or text me about the damages tomorrow, er…” You smile, just a little. “Later this afternoon.”
“Yes!” Seungmin states, taking the paper and passing it to Han Jisung, Enemy No. 1. “We’ll definitely do that!”
You press your smile further, forcibly, politely. “Grea—”
Flash!
“OW!”
From Han’s...if you’re recalling correctly, “Minho’s” car...you see Freckles squint, hands raised to block the flash bombs going off behind you like the paparazzi just showed.
“WHO LEAVES THE FLASH ON?!?!” he cries, swatting at...the air. You spin around to scowl.
“Junyong! What are you doing?!”
“Don’t worry, Y/n!” Junyong howls. “I got pics of everyone involved, and both license plates! They can’t run now!!!”
“......” Well, the Matcha Latte was certainly kicking in. You would have thrown a donut, had one been available to you.
While being ushered off, Han continues to stare at the paper curiously. Then, as if struck by a realization of some sort, he looks up at you over his friend’s shoulder, smiling.
“I thought I recognized you! Y/n L/n, right?”
You blink, unenthused. “That’s what it says on the paper.”
Han just continues smiling. There’s some sort of sparkle in his eye that’s visible even in the blotched moonlight of storm season. It sends a shiver down your spine, even after you’ve closed and locked the car doors. “I’ll definitely call you!” He yells, waving. Like a couple of old friends reconnecting, excited to catch up over donuts and coffee.
But he was the enemy. Han Jisung had done something wrong, something cruel, something that had yet to be concluded that you weren’t sure you could ever forgive...so, then...
You start the car with a gentle whir of the engine, setting the gears into reverse. Hesitantly, you glance into the rearview mirror once more, watching him engage in harsh whispers and subtle push-and-shoves before getting in.
His face. His charisma. His profile...two months ago you’d sworn he was the enemy, yet...
...Why was it that you were just as excited?
- ♫ - ♫ - ♫ -
“Wasn’t that the girl that accused us of copyrighting her friend’s track? That was her, wasn’t it?” Felix asks. “...I hope she knows that was all just a misunderstanding…”
Climbing back into Minho’s stolen convertible, because Felix just had to have donuts for National Donut Day at 12 am, Seungmin heaves a sigh, running a sweating hand through his exhaust-riddled hair. Too close, honestly. The infamous Y/n, known for being the Campus Blizzard, could have had them fined, reported on campus, and Han behind bars. ...Yet for some reason, she didn’t.
...Must be in a good mood or something. A saving grace, if he did say so himself. “...Please tell me this was really an accident. You didn’t do this on purpose...right?”
The boy in the driver’s seat smiles...sheepishly. Pulling back up to the window to claim his goods, he places the tips of his ringed fingers together. Takes a breath.
“...If I say half yes and half no, will you be mad?”

❝ lucky ❞, z.c
Tumblr media
pairing → chenle, reader
genre → fluff, angst? a lil??
word count → 3.1k (woah!!)
summary → "you just deserve… so much more than that. do you realize how true that must be for a boy you just met today to see it?"
a/n → this is 1000% inspired by this pic that dropped yesterday like.....chenle looked so good it reminded me why i bias him!!!! anyway i kind of like this it has rich chenle and daddy issues thats all xoxo (also i did not proofread like at all so if theres any typos it was taeil's fault lol)
everyone in the room is utterly unbearable.
you understand it's rude to think so but you're sure that if you were to tell any of them this they would instantly agree with you. of course, you would never do that. because you're a ceo's daughter; you're not allowed to have an opinion that would make you look imprudent, rude or anything less of perfect.
so what do you do? you smile. you make small talk. you try your best to ignore your sore feet that are confined in your pumps and the way your dress rides up your butt. your lack of manners could not and would not be the reason your father missed out on any chance to make some more money. he made that very clear to you. after all, the only reason he dragged you along to all these house parties was so you could make make a stellar impression. he wanted all the businessmen in the room to remember mr. l/n and his charming young daughter when they got in their limousines and drove back home so that they'd remember when they discussed mergers and new projects.
you were never comfortable with the idea of your father essentially using you as some sort of accessory but you sometimes went days on end without seeing him so you took what time you could get. of course, helping him build his empire and boost his reputation wasn't your preferred daddy-daughter activity but you would never tell him that. it would just cause problems in your already rocky relationship and you certainly didn't need that.
"y/n." speak of the devil. "why don't you make conversation with the other guests? or better yet, come talk to these investors. i'm sure they'd love to meet you."
you know exactly what your father means by that so you try to find a reason to decline. anything would be better than watching him suck up to anyone with deep pockets and try to get you to do the same. "um." you repress a relieved sigh when you catch sight of yuna entering and handing her coat to a housekeeper. "actually i see my friend over there. i think i'll just go talk to her."
he frowns and you realize his face seems to be permanently stuck like that when he was around you. you can't remember the last time you'd seen an authentic smile from him. you suppose that was reserved for when he was trying to seal a deal.
"just behave yourself," he says. he leans into your ear. "remember, people are watching."
then he's gone, leaving you standing alone for a split second before yuna comes and takes his place.
"hey!" she draws out the word for dramatic effect.
"hi," you respond, your greeting lacking the enthusiasm hers held. she wasn't your favorite person but it was nice to talk to someone who wasn't observing your every move. it gave you a break from the ridiculous standards everyone else seemed to hold you to.
she brushes her bangs out of her eyes as she sized you up. "ooh, i love your heels! how much?"
"like 15 bucks." her jaw drops and you can't help but giggle. "yeah, i bought them at a thrift store. just don't tell my dad."
she grins. "wow, i always thought thrifting was for poor people but i just might have to check it out now."
that was the thing about yuna. she was stupid rich and she wouldn't have it any other way. she loved designer brands and houses so big you could get lost in them. you didn't blame her for any of that but it was the fact that she didn't mind the stuffy dinner parties and being shown off that was a little puzzling to you. unlike you, she had perfected her fake laugh and polite small talk long ago and sometimes you wondered if she really did care about all these companies and powerful men. but you know that as long as she gets to wear her thousand dollar dresses and go home to her cozy mansion, she'll be happy. she did what it took to keep her lavish lifestyle and was a little too materialistic for your liking and you guess that's where you and her are different.
you finally answer her. "yeah, definitely. it's a lot of fun."
her eyes light up. "we should go together one of these days!"
your silence is definitely too long but thankfully, yuna doesn't notice. her short attention span had caused her to focus on something else—more specifically, someone.
"oh my god," she says. "who is that?"
a boy who looks around your age has appeared, accompanied by a middle-aged man in a suit. the older man is more put together by far but you still can't help but stare at who you assume to be his son. he's wearing a black jacket on top of a striped shirt and you notice that chains hang from his neck. a belt holds up a pair of dark and tight pants. and, god, is he wearing converse?
you can't help but crack a smile at that. you envy his comfortable look; you would trade all the chanel and prada in the world just to wear a t-shirt and pair of sneakers and not have everyone in the room judge you for it. but his outfit isn't the only thing you admire. he must have crazy amounts of confidence to show up looking like he does when being surrounded by so many managers, executives, and company heads. you can only imagine what they're thinking and yet, the boy didn't seem to care or look uncomfortable in the slightest. in fact, he seems oddly at ease, his eyes scanning the room. at one point his eyes sweep over you and you lock eyes.
you watch as he brushes his bangs out of his face, almost like he's trying to get a better look at you. you only stare back, shifting your weight from one leg to the other. he offers you a half smile, his eyes squinting slightly and cheeks growing. you can't help but smile back, noticing just how the stranger's had an adorable baby face.
he looks away when he notices his father gravitating towards a group of businessmen and follows him. you almost wonder if he was in the same position as you were, if he was nothing but a poster child who was shown off at every event and party there was. then you notice how his father holds him tightly and smiles widely—genuinely—when he introduces him to others.
your father never did that. he wouldn't let you wear clothes like that either. you could only assume that this boy and his father were different from the rest of you. maybe they sat down and had dinner together everyday? talked to each other about their day? you almost throw the idea out of your head completely because it seems just too foreign to you.
"oh my god," yuna says. that seemed to be her favorite phrase. "i've never seen them before. what do you think they're doing here?"
you shrug. "maybe they're new to town?"
she hums. you both stay silent, observing the pair before yuna seems to grow impatient. "well i'm gonna go meet them. i can't handle being out of the loop. wanna come?"
you say agree. you feel obligated to. for the first time in forever you're actually interested in something at one of these dull parties, you're not going to stand around and just watch.
you approach the newcomers, both your fathers and a couple other businessmen conversing with them. you wonder if they've already asked them how much they're worth or if they had the decency to wait a minute before sticking their noses in their business. but, you knew how people like them operated; decency was way too much to ask.
"hi daddy!" yuna enters the conversation swiftly.
"hi, sweetheart," her father responds, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "this is my precious daughter, mr. zhong." he turns to yuna. "he and his son are visiting us all the way from our china branch. yuna, introduce yourself."
she doesn't need to be told twice. "hello, i'm yuna. i'm 17 years old and i'm studying at daewon preparatory. we're glad to have you here.it's a pleasure to meet you both."
mr. zhong smiles fondly at her. "the pleasure is all mine, young lady. what a beautiful daughter you have, mr. shin. she seems very capable."
yuna's father pulls her close to him, smiling at mr. zhong then her. "she sure is." you catch the subtle wink he throws her way, a silent 'good job' for that cute little introduction she did which was sure to score them some popularity points with the zhongs.
your father pulls you close to him and wraps an arm around your figure. both mr. zhong and mr. shin seem to be quite the fans of physical contact and although your father was not, you know that if that's what it took to make a good impression, he would become one, at least for the night.
"this is my daughter, mr. zhong." he turns to you and you take it as a cue to say something.
"hello, mr. zhong. i'm y/n." your introduction ends there and you feel your dad's grip on your arm tighten, indicating how unsatisfied he was with your brief answer.
you catch mr. zhong's son smile for the second time that night. although there is no mysterious eye contact this time, just a cute boy probably making fun of your lame introduction.
"well, how old are you, y/n?" mr. zhong asks, making conversation for you.
"i'm eighteen."
"oh, so is my son! isn't that right, chenle?"
his son—chenle—nods.
"well, i think we should leave the children to become acquainted. what do you think, gentlemen?"
everyone seems to agree. then, all that's left is the three of you.
to your surprise, chenle speaks first and it's a reintroduction. "i'm chenle."
you copy him. "i'm y/n."
"and i'm yuna. so, you're from china right?" she doesn't give him a chance to respond. "i read that there are over four million millionaires there. are you one of them?"
he furrows his brows and you can't help but sigh at yuna's question. she was fixed on the money aspect of things, as usual.
"i guess," he says, giving it little thought.
she practically squeals. "you're probably one of the youngest in the country! have you ever thought about that?"
"not really. i don't really like to think about money or these companies or big shot business dudes or any of that," he says, bluntly. "i mean, it would just make me feel more privileged than i already am. besides, it's all just a big headache. i'll leave it for the old man."
yuna's face falls and you hold in a laugh.
you finally chime in. "you know what, i have to agree. so much money can drive a person crazy. sometimes it even goes straight to their heads."
chenle can't hold back his amused snort. both him and yuna know exactly who you're referring to.
she wastes no time defending herself.  "but, with reason y/n. to be fair, only 1% of millionaires are under 35 and here i am at 16."
you restrain yourself from scoffing. "well i'm sure the other 99% of the population doesn't get things handed to them on a silver platter by their daddy, yuna."
she stares you down, her huge, hazel eyes never leaving your e/c ones. "i think it'd be best if i excused myself. i'm going to go find my father, if you both don't mind."
"not at all," chenle mumbles as you both watch her stomp away.
you exhale loudly. "i knew i was gonna snap one of these days."
"well, if you didn't i would have," chenle responds.
"frankly, i don't regret a thing," you say, turning back to his smiling face.
"mm, and what if she tells daddy?" he inquires, folding his arms.
you playfully raise a brow. "i'll have you know, i'm one of the 1% of millionaires that are under 35, i think i have the advantage."
he giggles. "oh god, that was unbelievable. where did she even get those numbers from?"
"i have no idea but it was just… painful to watch. i'm gonna need a breath of fresh air after that."
he nods in agreement and you both walk towards the nearby balcony.  you step outside, the breeze whipping your hair all over the place and leaving goosebumps on your skin.
"you know," he begins before silence can settle upon you two for too long. "i was really hoping there would be someone around my age here tonight. and i don't know if you usually come to these things or if you don't but either way, i am so glad you're here."
this comment reminds you of the way he had stared you down upon arriving and it makes your face feel a little warm despite the cool air of the night. "'cause i'm the only thing standing between you and a wonderful night with yuna."
"oh i'm sure it would've been real wonderful." he gives you a 'yeah right' look. "we couldn't even hang around each other for more than five minutes, i'm positive it would've been a long night."
you nod. "every night with her is. usually she's the only person i end up talking to at these things and let me just say, i think she's more money-hungry than all the men in there combined."
chenle whistles, lowly. "combined? that's dangerous."
"yeah, she takes after daddy," you mutter, picking at your nail polish that has begun to peel.
"what a relief you don't," he says. "or else i think i would have thrown myself off this balcony by now."
"well, you don't have to worry about that. you and i are on the same boat. money doesn't interest me all that much. definitely not to that extent."
"what does interest you?" chenle asks, turning his attention to you instead of the city lights in the distance.
you shrug. "i haven't figured it out yet. i'm too busy trying to be perfect. and i have a long way to go. just ask my dad, he seems to have really strong opinions on the matter."
"oh, i get it," he says. "you're so focused on being the perfect daughter that you haven't figured out what's going on in there." he wiggles his finger around your forehead.
"i just… want to make him happy. i want to see him smile because of me. even if 'me' is that daughter he expects me to be. i'm okay with being her. i'll take it."
chenle furrows his eyebrows and suddenly he doesn't seem to get it anymore. "you really... become an entirely different person? just for him? i mean, you seem like a good daughter. i don't understand that, y/n."
"and you won't understand, chenle," you respond. "because your dad loves you. he lets you wear your edgy clothes to business parties and doesn't worry about what everyone else is gonna think. he doesn't worry about first impressions, he doesn't force you to become someone else for strangers. he doesn't put any business deal above you. he doesn't chose his job over you, chenle and that's great. i'm so happy that's not the case with you. but it is for me. and when you know that the only time your dad is going to want anything to do with you is when you can help him make a quick buck or good impression, you resort to facades and doing anything you can to make him appreciate you. just a little."
chenle's arms envelop your shivering figure before you can say another word. his hands run up and down your arms and his chin rests atop your head. he inhales deeply, taking in your wonderful scent. he knows it's probably some off the wall expensive perfume.
"i'm so sorry, y/n," he mumbles into your coconut scented locks. "i'm sorry that you have to do that and that i won't ever be able to understand it. you just deserve… so much more than that. do you realize how true that must be for a boy you just met today to see it? and it breaks my heart that your own father doesn't because you really shouldn't have to suffer through that. he doesn't have his priorities straight but that shouldn't be an excuse for him to neglect his own daughter." he detaches from you so he can look directly into your glossy eyes, holding you at an arm's length away.  "and he has no idea what he's missing out on, y/n. you're so headstrong, so humble and so much more than just a pretty face or someone's daughter. and if he can't treat you like the incredible individual you are then...." he exhales and you catch his breath blow in the air. "then please let me."
your bottom lip is quivering. you had never heard such nice words. and you don't have the slightest idea what he means by that last bit but you still nod and jump right back into his arms. because you have decided that's where you feel safest. where you can be yourself, freely and unapologetically.
"the second i walked in this place, i hated it," he mumbles and a laugh escapes your lips. "but then i saw you. and it got a little better. then i met you. and it got a lot better. we just met but i already can't seem to get enough of you, y/n." he chuckles as if he can't believe it himself. "you must be something really special. and i have the privilege of seeing that."
you move away from his chest and look up at him. your hands thread through his tufts of hair that match the darkness of the night sky. his hands stay planted firmly at his waist. you feel like he has no intention of letting go. you would be lying if you said you did either. and neither of you seem to have a problem with it.
"i can't wait for you to finally feel what it's like to be treated how you deserve. and i can't wait to be the guy to show you. i am so, so lucky."
you smile, your teeth on display. "i'm actually so glad i came tonight. that is definitely a first."
he laughs. "speaking of firsts..." he trails off, shyly.
you raise a brow, just to tease him a bit. "what are you getting at, mr. zhong?"
he knows you're joking yet his heart pounds as he leans in and asks for permission to kiss you. "may i, ms. l/n?"
"you may," you respond, meeting him halfway.

Daewon couldn’t help but chuckle at the praise that was delivered, hand resting upon his chest. “Thank you, darling. Honestly, staying clean for as long as I have has been quite the challenge.” He wasn’t talking about abstaining from anything like drugs or alcohol, rather how long he had gone without killing an innocent soul. “Though, I must confess that I invited you here with some sort of ulterior motive.” He lifted his goblet to his lips to take a small sip of the merlot that was in it. “Maybe we could break that streak together? Just for fun.” He had already locked his eyes on a target, a patron at the club that was entirely unassuming.

The Bias List
@avatarfantxsy @quyennie @despairandjo I decided to just list them. I need to make a separate post for bands tho. (that was a lie almost as fat as me) So in this bias list I will only list groups that I listen to. The last bias list I posted there were a lot of groups that I hadn’t listened to yet so this one will just be the groups I know of. I have a few to add, some I have taken off and I will have a section at the end for potential biases. Also some groups have 2-6 biases. For example I literally can’t choose with UP10TION. And sometimes I go back and forth and members in groups so often I’ve somehow tricked my brain into thinking I have more than one. If it’s confusing I promise the first member of each group on the list is definitely a locked bias. And another thing, if the member is specifically on my list of moms or daddies they wont be on here, unless they both

Cute Boys and Kitty Cats
A Noir Daewon x Reader AU
2.8K, Fluff, Drabble, Strangers to Lovers, Meet-Cute
Requested by @daewonbiased - I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
There was really nothing more fulfilling than signing the last of the paperwork needed for someone to take their new animal companion home. Working in the rescue shelter for the past few months since you graduated from university had been the best decision of your life, and while it didn’t pay much it was worth it to see the pure joy on people’s faces when they met the pet that was perfect for them. After bidding goodbye to the young couple and their newly adopted older dog it was time to close up shop. You turned the sign around and switched off some of the outside lights, making sure the front door was locked before heading into the back to check on the animals who had yet to be adopted.
It was mostly cats and dogs, usually older animals or ones that needed a lot of attention and care. Unfortunately, some people just were not willing to put in the effort to learn how to love a shy dog or a jumpy cat. You made sure to say goodnight to each and every animal in your care, giving the ones who would accept it a gentle rub behind their ears or on their bellies. Some of these sweet babies were just so loveable, if you could adopt all of them yourself you would do it in a heartbeat. Just as you finished your rounds, checking that they all had water and were safely settled in for the night, you heard a very loud banging noise come from the front of the shop. You quickly ran out to see what the commotion was, trying to shush some of the more nervous animals as you went.
When you reached the foyer you looked towards the front of the store and saw a light shining in through the window. It moved and pointed sideways to illuminate a young-looking face. You cautiously stepped forward, but before you could ask anything they were calling to you. “Please help me! I just found this cat on the side of the road and I think she’s about to have kittens.” It was only then you saw the bundle in his other arm, it looked to be a jacket of some sort, probably his own. You also realised it was raining very hard outside, and this poor good soul was getting drenched. Against your better judgement, you unlocked the front door and ushered the boy inside, his black hair was dripping wet and sticking to his forehead, and he was cradling the bundle against his chest as if to protect it from the elements.
Sure enough, as he had said, there was a very pregnant cat wrapped inside his university jacket. She had a beautiful black colour to her coat, but she looked to be badly injured. Her ears and parts of her back were scarred and her fur was completely matted. It was obvious she was a stray. “How did you manage to catch her?” Carefully you set the little bundle down on the floor beside the reception desk. You had dealt with cats and dogs having their babies in front of you before, but usually you had more time to prepare. “I was just walking home after practice and I heard a really distressed sound come from one of the ditches along the canal. When I went looking with my phone torch I found her stuck in a bramble. She let me pull her out and when I realised she was pregnant I decided it would be best to bring her to a vet or something where she would be safe.”
He hadn’t taken his eyes off the cat the whole time he spoke. You took a moment to properly look at the animal rescuer in front of you. Even if you hadn’t recognised the crest on his jacket it wouldn’t have been hard to guess that he was younger than you. Round cheeks and soft skin paired with big, kind eyes and pouty lips - he was absolutely adorable. “You know this isn’t a vet’s office right?” He finally looked up at you, eyes twinkling as he nodded earnestly. “I know, but the nearest vet is too far away for me to walk and the lights were still on here when I was walking past.” You smiled softly at him and got a bright grin in response. Your heart did a little flip in your chest, he was too cute to handle. But you had other things to work on.
“Ok, you stay here and try keep her calm while I go get a few things that will make her more comfortable, alright?” He nodded again, and as you stood to move away he stuck his hand out towards you. “My name is Daewon by the way. Thank you for helping me.” You shook his hand, a little surprised by the strength of his grip, and introduced yourself as well. Then you hurried off to the storeroom to grab a towel and a bowl for water. This could be a long night.
Finally, after three hours the beautiful little cat had given birth to four healthy kittens. It was a relief when they all began suckling from their mother, and she was very placid around them. Daewon let out a very large yawn and it was only then you realised how late it had gotten. “You should really head home, you probably have classes tomorrow right?” He turned his head and looked at you with a sleepy grin, and your heart squeezed at the sight. “Yeah, I have a ten am lecture and then a double after lunch.” You convinced him that the cat would be safe now thanks to him, and somehow he convinced you to exchange phone numbers so you could send him pictures of the kittens tomorrow. After much fussing and giving the cat a name “Noir, because of her fur,” he finally said his goodnights and headed off, leaving his university jacket behind.
You ended up staying for almost another hour, making sure that Noir and all her kittens were settled into the free pen you moved them too and that the mother cat had enough food and water to keep her going. In the morning you would definitely need to arrange for a vet to come around and check them all over, to make sure they were indeed healthy. And so after a very long and eventful night, you finally headed home.
The next day you were exhausted when you came into work. Your co-worker Yunsung had opened and was very excited about the message you sent him about your late-night additions. He had already called a vet to come for later in the afternoon and when you went to check on Noir she seemed to be happily napping away, her little babies curled up beside her. Work went by as usual, people coming in to meet their potential new animal companions and one girl decided on the spot she was going to adopt the scrawny ginger cat who was missing one eye. It was always a wonderful feeling to watch as new owner and pet interacted for the first time and seeing how perfectly they fit together.
When the vet came around she confirmed that apart from the scratches on Noir’s back and ears she was healthy, and her kittens all seemed to be responding well. It would be at least 12 weeks before they could home the kittens, but it was never too hard to find people to take the young animals. It was always the older ones who needed more love. You sent Daewon some pictures of the kittens as promised, and he responded with a string of cute emojis that made you giggle. Yunsung read the message over your shoulder and teased you about it, but you just slapped him and went back to work.
You were on the closing shift again tonight but finished up early so you could get home and go to sleep. Just as you were switching the outside lights off you saw a figure running towards the shop. You laughed a little when you realised it was Daewon and opened the door for him. “I wasn’t expecting you to come back this evening.” He grinned, only a little out of breath, and your heart squeezed at how adorable he looked. His hair was dry today, and it looked so soft and fluffy you just wanted to ruffle your hands through it. “I was in the library working on an assignment and I completely lost track of time! I’m sorry!” He smiled so brightly that you could only laugh, before closing the door behind him and showing him into the back where all the animals were waiting for their nightly checks.
Talking to Daewon made your heart race. He had such an innocent, positive outlook on everything. You introduced him to each of the animals in the shelter and he greeted them politely each time, holding out his hand and petting the ones who let him. He was very good with animals and you couldn’t stop the smile that stayed on your face the entire time. When you finally reached the separate room where you were keeping Noir and her kittens he squealed with joy, and the cat responded happily to his presence. She rubbed up against the front of her pen and you relented to his pleading eyes to let him open it up and hold her. She purred happily the whole time he held her, and you were surprised by how comfortable the two looked together.
After that, Daewon stopped by the shelter almost every night to see Noir and her kittens. Even when you weren’t working your co-workers told you that he always showed up with a brilliant smile on his face and treated all the animals with the utmost of respect and affection. You also began to develop a little bit of a crush on him. At first, you felt weird about it, because he was definitely younger than you. But after getting to know him better you realised it wasn’t actually that much, and he was very clearly crushing on you too.
When they were finally old enough, Noir’s four kittens found homes in less than a week. It was bittersweet, sending them off, but all their new homes were going to be very caring for them. All that was left then was Noir herself. She had fattened up in her time at the shelter, and you managed to get her groomed properly with Daewon’s help so that her fur was sleek and shiny. Daewon was there when you signed off on the last of the kitten’s adoption forms, and he looked a little down. “It’s for the best, they’re going to have a wonderful life in their new homes.” It was just the two of you here this evening, it was almost time to close for the day. Daewon nodded, eyes glued to his hands in his lap.
“Hey, it’s alright. I know it’s hard but they’re going to be very happy.” He looked up at you and your heart broke a little at the tears in his eyes. “I know, I’m just going to miss them all.” His lower lip stuck out in a soft pout and you couldn’t stop yourself from reaching over and brushing some of the tears from his cheeks. “It’s ok, you can still come around every day and see Noir. She hasn’t been adopted yet.” He bit his lip, looking down for a moment and then back up at you with a new shine in his eyes. “What if she does get adopted though? What if her new owners live far away and I can’t see her anymore? What if that means I have to stop coming here to see you?”
Your heart started beating faster in your chest. You (and your nosy co-workers) all knew about Daewon’s crush on you, but this was the first time he actually said anything about it. So lost in trying to make sense of your own feelings you were silent, and his face fell as he took your lack of response as rejection. He said a bleak goodbye and all but ran out of the shop, and you felt awful. But then an idea came to mind. You really did like him a lot, and you wanted to see him all the time as well, not just when he came to visit Noir in work. So against your better judgement, you text Yunsung and got an immediate reply to say ‘go for it!’.
The next day you were on the closing shift with Minhyuk, one of the new part-timers in the shelter. You were showing him the ropes, and he seemed to really get the hang of it. Just as you were preparing to close, the front door opened and Daewon walked in wearing his university jacket and carrying a blanket in his arms. “Hi Daewon, how are you?” You tried to make small talk, excited to get to tell him your plan. He walked up to the front desk and put the blanket to one side, speaking to Minhyuk instead of you. “I would like to fill out adoption papers please.” Minhyuk looked to you for help, and you just shot him a small smile.
“Daewon, sweetie, Noir has been adopted already.” He looked like he was about to burst into tears as he turned to face you, jaw dropping and hand clenching in the blanket he had brought. “B-but I -” “I have adopted her. I’m bringing her home with me tonight.” His face completely changed in a split second, from heartache to boundless joy. “REALLY? CAN I COME AND SEE WHERE SHE’S GOING TO LIVE?!” He was so cute, so so so cute that it really wasn’t your fault for what you did next. You leaned close and placed a soft kiss on one of his adorable cheeks. When you pulled away his face had frozen in shock and a bright pink blush was turning him into a tomato. “Good job, you broke him.” Minhyuk teased you and you stuck your tongue out at him.
“Come on, let’s go get Noir and bring her home yeah?” You took his hand a gently tugged, and he followed along with you still slightly dazed. It was only when you reached the pen where Noir was sleeping and she jumped up to greet Daewon that he broke out of his trance. You opened the door and he picked her up gently, letting her rub her head against his chin and purr loudly into his chest. His smile was blinding as you brought her back out front and got her settled into a cat carrier and grabbed a small bag filled with everything you had bought for her. After closing up properly for the night and saying goodbye to Minhyuk, you walked with Daewon to your car and let him hold Noir’s carrier the whole journey to your apartment.
It took a few hours for her to settle into her new surroundings, but having Daewon there to play with her seemed to help a lot. After she finally curled up in her new bed in the living room you happily collapsed onto your couch, and watched as Daewon stood awkwardly in the middle of the floor. Oh, right. “You are welcome to come and visit her in the evenings or whenever I’m not working. Or you could just come and visit me.” He looked at you wide-eyed and you went for your best comforting smile. He started to go pink again and you held out one of your hands towards him. Daewon shuffled over and sat beside you on the couch and he was just so cute you giggled as you scooted closer to him.
“I like you a lot Daewon. I would like it if you came to visit me as well as Noir.” You looked at him and saw the tips of his ears were red and he was fiddling with his fingers. You bumped him with your shoulder and he finally turned to look at you. Before you could say anything else he leaned in at lightning speed and pressed a kiss to your cheek. Then he pulled away and buried his face in his hands. Your face broke into a huge smile, heat flushing across your cheeks from where his soft lips had pressed against your skin. Giggling you leaned over and wrestled his hands away from his face and proceeded to press dozens of little kisses all across his face. Cheeks, nose, forehead - everywhere you could reach until he had also dissolved into an adorable giggling mess on your couch. He looked up at you with the most beautiful smile on his face as he said “I like you a lot too, I really want to see you more often.”
You sent him home with another gentle kiss on the cheek and got one on your nose in return. That night, as you finally got into bed, Noir came in and curled up beside you. It really was perfect that such a sweet little kitty also managed to introduce you to the most adorable boyfriend in the world.

Noir as Things That Have Been Said to Me or By Me

Yeonkuk: That’s certainly a loss for me. I may have won hang man but I definitely lost
Junyong: Someone on my bus… just… climbed over the seats… like… on top of the seats
Yunsung: Pros of not going: I can take a nap in the car. Cons of not going: No idea. Nap good

Hoyeon: If you don’t come to our lesson I’m going to McFreaking lose it
Siha: I didn’t mean to imply that I don’t care, but I really don’t
Minhyuk: I poured too much sriracha into my food and I'm eating it while my eyes are watering because I'm not a coward

a visit.
daewon’s sure of a few things.
number one, he’s 99% sure he locked the door. he never misses out on locking the door because that usually means they’re closed and that means he gets an early day. it also means he gets to visit a certain flower shop earlier than usual with tea and a good book in tow.
number two, they are closed. which is why he knows he’s closed the door. which is why when he stands to turn the figure in the doorway, he’s completely dumbfounded. because - that is a figure in the doorway and because - there shouldn’t be a stranger in the doorway because they were closed.
and he’d locked the door. hadn’t he?
“i’m sorry - ” perplexed as he is and too flustered to search his memory, he remembers his duties as an employee before anything else. with his full attention now on the man, daewon gestures towards the counter moving to help himself not trip over his words. “can i help you?” his initial guess is that the male is a customer, one who is in generous need of a trim.
the stranger’s hair is orange, quite an impressive color actually, not too bright but bright enough to almost look natural. almost. hopefully he needs a trim, a dye job would be far too much work. the purple robe the man adorns only serves as a reminder that the shop should be closed as daewon would love to retreat to comfier clothes himself, but he doesn’t dwell. he watches the eyes of the stranger follow his gesture to the counter as well as his movements to pull out the scheduling book.
‘you’re the owner here?’
daewon gets his response through a voice that’s just about as perplexing as the owner itself. he male’s in a strange combination of this comfortable looking robe robes with his socks inside slippers, his eyes a striking amber that daewon has to look twice to make sure he’s seeing right. there’s that, and the surprising calm to his voice that doesn’t match the loudness of his outfit. it’s gentle, deliberately intended for daewon and it echoes through the shop light, a tad drowsy. it’s many things and daewon thinks it’s interactions like this that truly make the best stories.
“I work under sohee.” as of late, sohee’s committed to leaving most of the shop operations to daewon whether he’s asked or not. sohee’s not the type of woman to give people things they can’t handle though she isn’t the type to ask if they can handle it either. she just does. and so daewon has done as he can, handling shifts, opening and closing the store, handling deliveries and repairs alike. he might as well own the salon.
‘do any other men work here? is your owner a man?’ there must be a reason for the question. it’s not as if it’s the first time someone has seen him in the salon and asked for the next available stylist. it’s the twenty-first century and people are still perplexed to find he’s one of the employees, still perplexed to know men can cut women’s hair. sohee says they’re just missing out though daewon gets the suspicion this man is asking for other reasons, less condescending, though just as incredulous.
“i’m the only male worker - what do you need?’ he feels as if he’s going in circles. ‘you’ve received my letter yes? regarding my ward?’
as the realization clicks daewon’s sure this isn’t how he expected the meeting to go. just as he knows he didn’t expect the author of said letter to look like this. by this he means someone that looks like they just rolled out of bed from a mansion perfectly in time for a halloween costume party. but it’s spring time and the clothes are loud, strange and it’s close to closing time. it is closing time.
“you’re the one with the ward,” the man has the nerve to look like he’s the stressed one, as if the entire ordeal hadn’t troubled daewon when he’d first received the letter. ‘yes i’m the one whose student is head over heels for you.’
“are you joking with me?” ‘i assure you that i am not and that her feelings are not only serious but troublesome as well.’ well on that note, given his experiences with heated cheeks and stumbled words, daewon can understand the trouble for the young miss but not to the point that it’s troublesome to the stranger in front of him. he wants to laugh, as a crush on him still seems a bit unbelievable but the way the male’s arms lock over his chest, he knows this not to be a joke. nor a laughing matter.
daewon’s own arms cross over his chest, the scheduling book left untouched. the silence between them becomes more apparent and daewon realizes he’s only moved his arms to hold onto himself. the man’s stare is unrelenting, a little uncomfortable. the frown on his face looks strange, as if it’s going against the natural lines of his face. that makes things worse.
‘well?’ daewon swallows. “well, i - i’m not quite sure what you wish me to do.”
he hears a sigh.
‘you humans are rather insufferable do you know?’ daewon splutters at that. it’s nothing different from his usual awkward expressions but he thinks he’d heard the man wrong. humans? as if he wasn’t? that in itself is hard to process but the man is already moving towards him.
daewon had never spent long dwelling on the possibility of other creatures and a quarter until 11, standing in the salon was not a time he’d like to either. the man is getting closer, the amber of his eyes becoming stronger, defiant. he’s bold enough to even lean completely over the counter and he’s inches from daewon’s face. daewon wants to move back but crashes over his feet at the sound of the door chiming open.
‘i thought you were closed.’ “we are.” it’s a groan, but it’s ill-placed when his eyes meet the owner of the voice. sure enough there she is, pink hair fading considerably and smile always as sweet and gentle. her eyes seem to smile before her lips do and daewon thinks he might fall again, the position suddenly looking more compromising than he’d intended. the stranger doesn’t move, though his eyes do fall on her and daewon uses the distraction to move from behind the counter completely.
‘you said we’d meet right after you closed up but you didn’t show up so - i headed over.’ her eyes flit from the stranger to daewon who is presently cursing him for forgetting he’d sent that message. had that much time passed? he can’t recall. the stranger’s eyes are the ones passing by between daewon and her own figure as daewon hurries to close the scheduling book and rush to grab his things.
“i completely forgot, you weren’t waiting long were you?” ‘not longer as usual.’ her voice is light, as light and familiar as he remembers but maybe too familiar. maybe too light. he doesn’t dwell on it, instead with his keys and bag over his shoulder he finally turns to his guest. the said male has taken to sitting atop the counter and is regarding them with amusement. ‘did you have company?’ ever the polite one, she regards the stranger with curiosity, something glinting in her eyes that daewon couldn’t recognize if he tried. the thought dissipates though because he’s focused on the fact that the man is actually sitting on the counter.
“no no, he was just leaving?” if it comes as a plea it’s because daewon would rather deal with all of this later. much later. the stranger’s eyes fall on both of them now, and it takes a few seconds before he’s smiling. it looks more natural than the frown but it leaves daewon feeling uneasy, worse than before.
‘i can see you have no intentions with my ward.’ the words. immediately daewon can feel the threaten of red across his face at the implications. but he’s left no time to respond because the male is removing himself from the counter and dusting his robe off. ‘good. if i were to write the rejection she wouldn’t believe it. so please find a way to let her down gently alright? she is a youngling after all.’
a youngling. before daewon can process the words the stranger is gone out the door taking everything his presence held with him as he leaves.
‘a friend of yours?’ “he’s -” daewon is struck with the knowledge that he doesn’t quite know what to call the man other than disarming. “the guardian? yes i think that works, the guardian of-” ‘the young lady who has a crush on you. his ward.’ even hearing it aloud still proves too much for him. daewon feels his cheeks heat with the thought, and the stare that she’s now giving him. her lips are still pulled in gentle amusement, but the words. they’re friendly, always of course, but there’s something again behind it.something new. daewon thinks he’s possibly a little tired. “yes.”
the silence is back, and her eyes don’t reach him anymore because they’re looking at the door, possibly outside it. daewon fidgets uncomfortable in her presence now for reasons he can’t quite understand. he doesn’t like it. he wants the comfort back, the routine of it. every time his world falls out of routine he’s used to blaming one thing and now, he’s not sure he can.
“let’s go? before the cafe closes we can get something warm.” that stirs her, dare he think he brings her back from her stupor. she regards him with the warmth he’s used to and daewon wants to bury the worry.
he’s locking up behind him in seconds and thinking it might not be that easy. but she’s smiling and tailing beside him as they start walking, talking about the day as usual. he tries his best to put everything behind him. the strange man with his orange hair and purple robe and his talk of humans this and crushes thought.
and a door that he’s pretty sure if locked now.
he puts it all behind him the minute a hand slips into his own.

♗ (Daewon to Sven)
♗: Everyone has a timer on their wrist that counts down to the moment of meeting your soulmate
Destiny is not something to be played with or usually it means either you or your soulmate is doomed to have a tragic end. Sven was usually cautious of such things since he bore the same timer on his wrist just like the rest of the world only to see that his timer was still unchanged as always. Grabbing his bag from his desk only to start his day he went through his routine of college life. Locking up his dorm room taking the stairs to the campus grounds as he walked along to the small coffee stand that was  at the center of school grounds. Constant commute of students and teachers stopping for a cup of the substance that was either a need or an addiction depending on who you asked.
Taking his cup to walk away only to have someone bump into him and force him to spill his coffee. “What the fuck dude seriously fuck” he felt his wolf attempting to take over only to feel his wrist burning. Perfect he got the contents on his wrist and god did it burn him. Grabbing the napkin he had as he wiped at his wrist only to see his counter moved to only have seconds left. Tilting his head slightly to face the one responsible for this to see a male before him.
“You alright?” he asked even though he was the one that got burned.

Chapter 2
             At 1:50 you walk out of your last class of the day until 12:30 pm tomorrow, thank god. It is 65 degrees with an 80% chance of rain, just how you like it. With you're over-sized burgundy knit sweater, black leggings, and black boots you listen to your playlist while leaving the Liberal Arts Building heading to your favourite cafe off campus. Slow piano plays right before a steady beat joins it and then is accompanied by the voice of HEIZE, one of your favourite Korean artists. Since you moved here to study abroad, listening to Korean music was all you did to help you learn the language. You had loved their music before moving here, but you enjoyed it, even more, being in the heart of South Korean's capital even more.           As HEIZE sings the chorus of "No Reason" one last time you stop at a crosswalk, 5 minutes away from your cafe. Just as you hear the rain followed by the slow piano of Offonoff's song "bath" you thought you saw him. Walking on the other side of the street, a tall figure with an umbrella who looks like Namjoon crosses over to get to where you are. Your heart starts to race. Coming on your right, you shift to your left not wanting to look at him. Looking back to your right you see him less than a foot away. When the beat from "bath" starts playing to hook, the pedestrian light changes and you practically run to the crosswalk before he could reach you. "I don't know why I did it, I just did."  Daewon looks at you judgingly. "You look at me like that yet you said you wouldn't judge if I told you. You always lie to me." "Oh, I never said I wouldn't judge. I just said I wouldn't make fun of your judgment, although it was complete trash at the moment." "Yet you still lie to me." "But hey, I get it. We all get nervous over someone we're crushing over. Also someone who may look like the person we’re crushing over. Some a lot more than others." "I'm not crushing." You say this as you pick your vanilla chai. "When will you let this high school freshman act go?" "You keep judging me." "Okay. A close friend’s judgment is the best judgment there is. I’ll understand and empathize with you, but that doesn't mean I won't tell things how they are. I won't sugar-coat it." You nod. You agreed. You knew he was right. You were just too embarrassed to admit that you actually did really like this guy Namjoon and would've ran if you actually saw him near you.  "And besides you can always go out with me instead, I understand you, I'm good-looking and I'm just your type." Now you were the one judging. "Really? Your my type? My type being what exactly?" "Tall. Mysterious. Looks lean and fit. And Korean." You were surprised that he actually had most of the points right. "He doesn't have to be Korean, but I'm open to Korean guys." "You said you never dated in college until you came here to Seoul." "Are you still allowed to talk to me? Isn't your break over?" You change the subject with a laugh as you shoo Daewon away. "No. But I'll go, since your crush, just walked in." You look up to see that Namjoon did walk in and was already seated in his usual seat. That day you stayed at the cafe until Daewon finished his shift. It was 9:30 pm and as the shop staff was wrapping everything up, Namjoon still hadn't moved from his seat. Daewon and his coworker had finished putting up all the chairs when Namjoon had finally started wrapping up things. "Uhh hey," Daewon calls out to him and Namjoon looks up. "Do you live far? My friend and I are students too and wanted to walk together." You looked at Daewon terrified, horrified. What the hell, Daewon!
"Uh...sure." His deep voice surprised you. Although you didn't think he'd have a particular type of voice, you still were surprised. The three of you were at the doors as you waited for Daewon to lock up. Standing there near Namjoon seemed awkward, yet your heart raced at his presence. He looked ahead at the street where the bustling traffic existed earlier, now replaced by the nightlife of those going to party.
"You both are students?" he asks us first not looking at either one of us, then turning to look at you. You immediately look at Daewon, but he's still busy, attention still occupied by the door. "Yes. We're students."
He nods."What's your major?" "Well, Daewon majors in culinary arts."
"That's cool. But what about you?" My heart starts to race again. "En-English." Before Namjoon opens his mouth to speak again you feel a raindrop on your forehead. You dig in your bag to grab your umbrella. "Why has it been raining so much lately?" Daewon finally is done with the door  and the three of you start to walking. Namjoon pulls out his umbrella, Daewon puts on his hood.   "Well, this is me over here." Daewon starts to leave us. "See you guys tomorrow?"
"Sure", answers Namjoon. You glare at Daewon who just winks back. "Later (y/n)." "Whatever. Bye." You roll your eyes as you watch him walk away across the crosswalk with his hoodie on.
"I've been wanting to ask since we've been walking you've been listening to music." You look at Namjoon, "Yeah?" You turn your music down, listening to him with one in out your ear and listening to music in the other. "What are you listening to? Rock? Rap? Pop?"
"Uhh no... Suran's "Hide and Seek".
 "Hmm."
"Why'd you ask?"
"That song seems like a song you'd like." You snicker.
"Oh really? You only just met me."
"That's true. But I study behaviors before I approach a person. Just this time your friend approached me first."
"Hmm."
"You seem calm and collective. Like the rain. So I see why you’d like that slow and melodic track."
“Well, I'm not always calm and collective. But could you guess other artists on my playlist?"
"Uhh... let's see. Sam Kim. HEIZE. Crush. Zion T. Dean. Some Eric Nam. Only his slow songs though."
"Are you a hacker?" Laughing he answers me.
"No. They all have similar sounds. And I listen to them too sometimes."
"Hmmm."You didn't expect that.
 "What?" He stops and so do you.
"I just.. I have a special bond with music. Especially with all these artists and it comforts me. Especially this song now. " I pull out my phone to show Namjoon the song your listening to is "Stranger" by Paul Kim. "If I were to become a singer. I would want my music to sound like all these artists songs."
"I'd listen to it." He smiles and starts walking again. You start walking with him again right until you guys go your separate ways.

🤗 (Daewon to Soohwa)
Soft Intimacy Meme↪ 🤗 - Sneak up behind my muse and hug them
Soohwa had gone out to the corner store to grab a few groceries for the apartment, making sure to grab Kyunghwa and Daewon’s favorite snacks along the way. The young adult was too busy focusing on walking the aisles ( he had to make sure he got everything they needed ) to notice his boyfriend walking into the store. Back to the elder, he was startled from his thoughts as he felt arms lock around his waist while a warm body pressed up against his back. Turning his head, Soohwa let out a small chuckle as he turned in the males arms to return the hug. “What are you doing here? I thought you were working all night?”

@interglctycs wanted a starter. the muse they received: daewon, an exotic dancer and college drop out. a lonely guy who could really use a friend and someone to trust again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
                 to anyone, he just looked like a normal college student, probably trying to get home from campus a little late at night, bundled up in a light coat, a cap and a mask over his face. but, if anyone were to look closer, they’d see the glitter and body shimmer coating his cheeks, nose, and exposed hands. some pieces even gathered in his brunette locks and sparkled in his lashes. ‘ you know any good place to eat at this hour? ’ he couldn’t deny his stomach, even on a tight budget. the foodie in him would always win him over. ‘ i don’t care if it’s just noodles, i’m just starving right now. ’
