After a lot of consideration, I just felt that Larimar, did not represent me anymore. So after a lot of time and Work, I feel like this boi is a proper representative of me. Introducing my new fursona, Faolan! This is being my first time drawing him, I just wanted to get the idea down. But I'll be making an true ref sheet later.

To add to my "not a furry, but" allegations, I drew and colored a few character designs for my potential sona, Daemon Nightingale
He's just a little guy and wants to be included. So far their hobbies are just baking, but I feel like he's a bit of an amateur artist
#fursona#furry#Daemon came to me in a vision#and its the first time I've wanted to draw in months#so I had a few drinks and decided to go for it#artden

Pop Culture and Fandom-Themed OC Questions
I came up with some pop culture-y OC questions because I like silly OC games. Some of these are more general, while others are for a specific genre or piece of media. Go ahead and reblog to use for your own OCs!
Was your OC influenced or inspired by any particular fictional character(s) when you made them?
What genre (not counting the one they’re in) would your OC thrive in?
What genre would your OC do badly in but it would be hilarious or interesting to watch?
What media does your character enjoy? (For characters in settings that aren’t modern Earth, could be media from their home setting or what they’d like in a modern Earth AU)
What song(s) do you associate with your OC?
Alternatively, do you have any OCs you associate with the song(s) I just sent you?
If your OC had to cosplay as a fictional character, who would they choose?
Has your OC ever had a crush on a fictional (to them) character?
If your OC wrote fanfiction (or if they already do), what type? (fix fic, ship, crossovers, AUs, smut, etc.)
How would your OC do in the last book/movie/tv show/game/etc. you read/watched/played?
If your OC was a superhero, what would they be like? (powers, title, general vibe, etc.)
What animal would your OC have as their His Dark Materials daemon?
What Pokémon would be on your OC’s team and/or what would be their preferred type?
If your OC was a Dungeons and Dragons character, what would their class be? And/or: If they were playing D&D, what kind of character might they play? (these aren’t necessarily the same thing)
How well would your OC do in a standard slasher movie?
What stock character would your OC be stuck as in a sitcom?
Who would your OC main in Super Smash Bros?
Who would your OC play in Mario Kart?
If your OC was in Star Trek’s Starfleet, what would be their role/position? Or, if that doesn’t really fit your OC: why would they get kicked out of Starfleet?
What role would your OC play in a heist story?
What kind of classic horror monster (vampire, werewolf, alien, etc.) would your OC be?
What type of Avatar The Last Airbender-type bender (or non-bender) would your OC be? Any bending specialties?
Your OC gets isekai’d to a bog-standard fantasy world. What does your OC do and how badly does it go for that world?
In the Muppet version of your story, is this particular OC a Muppet or the one human?
What would be your OC’s My Little Pony cutie mark?
Your OC is stuck in a musical episode. What song(s) do they sing? (And how thrilled or annoyed are they about being stuck in a musical?)
In a murder mystery, what role would your OC play? (e.g. detective, sidekick, wacky suspect, rival investigator who gets in thew way, red herring, true culprit)
What is your OC’s Warrior Cats name?
Gun to their head, what is your OC’s fursona?

A list of some alterhuman identities and groups (cut version)
About this article
This article is a five-minute read. It gives definitions and sources about (in alphabetical order) alterhumans, constelics, daemons, dragons, endels, furries, fictionfolk, nonhumans, otherkin, plural systems, therianthropes, tulpas, and vampires. These alterhuman community historians, archivists, and writers wrote this article together in August and September 2023: Orion Scribner, House of Chimeras, Page Shepard, Dinocanid, Ryuu Yumemoto, Draconic Wizard Workshop, and others. You have permission to repost this article, if you keep the list of authors, don't change what the article says, and don't use it for money. This is shared under this type of Creative Commons license: Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND).
Alterhumans
In 2014, Lio of the Crossroads System created this word as an umbrella term and identity for anyone who feels they have an identity beyond the scope of how one might typically think of “being human.”^1 Later, the alterhuman advocacy group Alt+H popularized this word. According to the coiner and Alt+H, it includes but is not limited to nonhumans.^2 Some groups who can opt-in to considering themselves under the alterhuman umbrella are otherkin, therianthropes, fictionfolk, plural systems, daemians, vampires, voluntary identities, furries, and more.^3 This umbrella is very broad because its purpose is to give these communities something to unite under without erasing their distinctions.^4
Constelic
Coined by Extranth in 2021, a person who is constelic identifies with or as one or more entities, objects, concepts, species, items, or characters throughout their life.^5 A constelic may collect or hoard any number of these identities for any number of reasons, as their identities are non-inherent and are considered to be entirely extrinsic.^6 Constels may be voluntary or involuntary identities,^7 and can be intense or casual, but they are often non-permanent.^8
Daemians and daemons
Daemians are people who have daemons, which are most often described as mental constructs or a part of an individual’s consciousness which has been assigned a unique gender, form, and personality.^9 Some daemians consider themselves plural.^10 Their community started in 2002, inspired by Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials fantasy novel trilogy.^11
Dragons
The dragon community started in the 1990s in an online group called alt.fan.dragons.^12 They identify as dragons for spiritual or psychological reasons. They are draconic, and they refer to this part of themselves as their draconity.^13 In the 2000s, the dragon community started to mingle with the other communities: with dragon otherkin (dragonkin)^14 and dragon therians.^15
Endels
Mental health experts say that being alterhuman isn’t the same as being mentally ill.^16 For alterhumans who do have mental illnesses, that can be an important part of their everyday life and their sense of self. Endel is a word for alterhuman identities that are rooted in or greatly influenced by delusion. Babydog coined this word in 2021, by and for delusional alterhumans.^17
Furries
The furry fandom is a large subculture that began at sci-fi conventions in the 1980s.^18 It’s for creating and enjoying art, stories, costumes, and roleplay about fictional human-like (anthropomorphic) animal characters, called furries. Many fandom participants choose to represent themselves as their furry persona (fursona), which can be just for fun, though it can be meaningful about who they are.
Fictionfolk
Fictionfolk is an umbrella term for many sorts of identities that come partly or wholly from fiction.^19 Fictionkin identify as characters or species from fiction,^20 and their community started in the early 2000s.^21 A plural system member with origins from fiction is a fictive, which psychologists call a fictional introject.^22 When someone has the brief experience of becoming someone or something from fiction, that’s a fictionflicker, which psychologists call experience-taking.^23
Nonhumans
An umbrella term for those of us who identify as partly or wholly not human: therianthropes, otherkin, and more. Many nonhumans opt to include themselves under the alterhuman umbrella.
Otherkin
Otherkin are elves, dragons, or other beings, usually from mythology. It’s always an important part of who they are throughout their lives, not role-play for fun.^24 The community started in the Elfinkind Digest mailing list in 1990, when they started calling themselves otherkind or otherkin.^25 Their reasons for being otherkin are often spiritual, for example, from reincarnation.^26 However, otherkin is not a religion.^27
Plural systems
Plurality (or multiplicity) is an umbrella term for all experiences and identities in which more than one entity, consciousness, or pseudo-consciousness exists within one physical body,^28 for systems who are or can be diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (DID), formerly called multiple personality disorder (MPD), as well as systems who do not meet those diagnostic criteria. Plurality and multiplicity as terms have always been inclusive of systems regardless of their origin or diagnoses.^29 Some plural systems have members who aren’t human or who are fictional characters or species.^30 Multiplicity can be an interchangeable synonym for plurality, or multiplicity can mean a form of plurality in which more than one person, self, or identity is within a single body.^31
Therianthropes
Therianthropes are people who have a lifelong identification as a certain species of animal on an integral, personal level.^32 Some are other species than animals from Earth.^33 The therian community started in 1993 in an online group, alt.horror.werewolves.^34 They developed jargon about shapeshifting to describe feeling more animal-like at some times. These changes are mental or spiritual, not physical.^35 Some have sensations of phantom limbs.^36 Some feel consistently animal-like at all times.^37 In the late 1990s and early 2000s, therians started mingling with the otherkin community.^38
Tulpas and tulpamancers
A tulpamancer is someone who practices tulpamancy, which is the act of creating tulpas.^39 A tulpa is an autonomous conscious entity who shares the body and brain of their creator.^40 Tulpamancy is often considered to be a part of the plurality umbrella.^41
Vampire Community
The vampyre or vampire community (VC) is for people who identify as vampires and require sustenance.^42 Those who drain energy are energy vampires or psi-vampires.^43 Sanguinarians drink blood.^44 Hybrid vampires need both.^45 Vampire lifestylers and donors are in the VC, too.^46
None of the above
Some participants of our communities are not themselves alterhumans. However, they’re here because they’re curious, or they’re our friends, family, and partners.

aetonyx - thats literally a guy from valyria basically
aerosteon - aerystion/aerostyon
baryonyx - now this dino is pretty well known so ill make him baeryon or baeryoxes
daemonosaurus - i dont think this is a great dragon name cos it includes saurus but this is daemon's fursona
draconyx - come onnnn thats a dragon
dracroex - synonym to pachycephalosaurus again come onnn that is a dragon. maybe make it dracoryx for full targification
fylax - makes me think of phylactic very fun
hesperonyx - sounds cool
koparion - this one is only known from one tooth! maybe koparion the dragon has just one teef..
lythronax - throne... lythronaxes maybe

Welcome to my blog
my name is sawyer, i am a hyena and ungulate cladotherian (cervidae, bovidae, cetacea), and a wolf kithtype. i am genderfluid and use she/him pronouns and my boyfriend is @melonthemelon27. i have been awakened since 2018 and my blog revolves around my experiences with therianthropy and my physical alterhumanity! my blog is open to all alterhumans and questions/asks. id love to meet other therians with experiences similar to mine, though I'm always open to new ideas and insight. ill also share some of my own art relating to theriotypes or my fursona x)
About me
i am autistic and a huge interest of mine has always been animals. before I discovered therianthropy, I called myself a wolf and associated animals with my identity. since discovering I was alterhuman, animals since then have always been a huge part of my self-discovery as I feel disconnected from humans besides zoology, another interest of mine is entomology! i own a few insects as pets, including a giant asian mantis and darkling beetles. I'm hoping to own more after college though. i also love game scoring, specifically the bloodborne and shadow of the colossus soundtracks, and I love media such as wolfquest, animal jam, resident evil, and saw!
besides being a therian, i am also heavily spiritual and very into daemonism. my daemon is a brown hyena named fenner (she/her) that is a representation of my soul. I'm also a (sfw) pet regressor and very into objectum, though I don't post about it as often on here as I have a separate blog for it. dni list : ummmm dont be mean or discriminatory! i am very open to other ideas, besides hate, because I use this blog as a safe space. I'm okay with paraphiles and kink-related blogs, so long as everything is consensual

Hi love your meta about Harry Potter and twilight, so I thought I'd conect the two in my ask. What do you think would the animagus form of Volturi or Cullens?
Thank you!
As for your question... is an animagus what a person is or what they want to be?
If it's the latter, well, I can't believe I know this, but Edward is a mountain lion and Emmett is a bear. It's weird we know what their fursonas are, I can't believe we know that, but we do and it's brought up a number of times.
And Bella of course is a deer or a lamb, a poor helpless mammal creature that's going to be eaten by Edward any moment now.
If it's the former... I know there's a post on daemons somewhere on this blog and it's basically the same answer as that.

I'm already drawing (almost) every character from Devil May Cry as anthros, but it had me thinking:
If it was up to the characters themselves, what animals would they choose to be?
Mild spoilers: Only a few choices align with what animals I'm drawing them as.
Dante: He'd choose a lion in a heartbeat. Royal, strong, but also he likes being a big fluffy kitty.
Vergil: I know that the whole "I am the alpha and omega" thing would mean he'd choose a wolf* as a fursona, but I doubt he'd allow himself to choose something so obvious. He wants it known that he's above everyone else, refuses to follow what everyone else does, and that he's on top of the food chain. So he'd be a T-Rex.
Nero: Poison dart frog. "Come on, LOOK AT THOSE COLORS! How could I NOT!?" He'd probably also try justifying it by making them out to be a badass animal because of their poison, but he doesn't wanna admit that he does infact find them absolutely cute.
Trish: If Trish were an animal, she'd be a horse. If Trish could choose a fursona, she'd be a horse.
Lady: She'd struggle to answer that since she'd think through the practicality of whatever species choice comes to mind at the moment, which even then would change frequently. If there was a recurring choice, it'd be a wolverine.
Also bonus round: If the reboot characters had fursonas, what would they be?
Reboot Dante probably feels awkward answering the question, not just because he thinks furries are cringe but also he hangs out with actual talking animals (See: Playstation All Stars)
*Reboot Vergil, though, now THAT fucker would choose a wolf fursona. Infact that's also the animal I'm drawing them as. I know a wolf feels like a cop-out choice, but he seriously does read to me as someone who just is a wolf.
Kat doesn't call them fursonas, she calls them familiars or daemons, and will INSIST on such. "Okay, so what kind of animal would you have as a familiar?" A deer.

🍎 in general, and 🍋 for anybody you like, although feel free to substitute fursona or daemon instead of 'spirit animal'!
Oh, I missed this one! Sorry, I just saw this.
🍎 ~ Which of your ocs do you think you could take in a fight?
Probably none of them, because I am weak as a kitten. But I feel like Chris and I would just decide to go get tacos instead, and I could probably talk most of them out of wanting to fight at all.
But the shorter, accurate answer is that even the weakest of my OCs could probably beat the daylights out of me without breaking a sweat.
🍋 ~ What is your oc's daemon?
Misae's is obviously the red wolf, because that's what he is - a wolf shifter. So his daemon is just the other half of his identity. But I want to kind of dig into Anaya, Eden, and Austin (you'll get to know him later) as well.
Anaya I think would bond well with a raccoon - inquisitive, adaptable, more awake at night...
Eden though I think is more of a wildcat or bobcat. He values quiet time, individuality, patience.

Fursona history dump!!
Literally gonna dump a bunch of art of EVERY past fursona of mine I could find. Some of them seem to have had every piece of art erased from existence so RIP Snowrush </3 but anyway. All sonas under the cut.
-Scruffy (Wolf)
Scruffy was my first EVER sona. By that I mean I made him when I was like 6-7 and would roleplay as him 24/7, I literally convinced myself I WAS him. My friends called me Scruffy, I drew myself as Scruffy, I was Scruffy y'all. Wasn't until I was like 10 that I knew what a fursona was though, but he definitely was one. Anyway my friends and I called ourselves "the secret animals" at the time. The tiger and fox are two of them, and the cat is still my best friend to this day (she's a bunny now ofc but back then she was a black cat called Starlight) god I am getting nostalgic just typing this. Good times <3
-Alaska (Fox)
Last piece by @mungosaur-4
Alaska was my fursona for YEARS. I'm still attached to her bc she was the sona I had when I was getting really into the actual fandom. Online, people knew me as her. Technically she was a fox/wolf/hyena hybrid but primarily she was a fox so lets just call her that. She was blue because I watched a lot of Pocari Roo at the time. To this day, I think Alaska is still the sona I've kept for the longest and in general have the most art of, because other people would draw her at the time online.
-Moth (Fox)
All pieces except the first are by @bluedivvy
Moth was my reluctant break away from Alaska, when I was going through an identity crisis. They were still a fox because I wasn't ready to break FULLY away from that yet, but they also had an enfield form because literally why not. I liked Moth, thought they were cute but I didn't keep them for very long.
-Moth (Maned wolf)
Second and last pieces by @bluedivvy, other character in the first also belongs to them
Moth was literally just a test really. She kept the name of my last sona because I went by that name at the time and wanted to keep it for my sonas. She was a maned wolf bc I discovered that the animal was pretty similar to me, and I loved the way they looked, but I didn't keep either Moth for very long.
-Mulee (Mule deer)
Second piece by @mungosaur-4 and third by @bluedivvy, other character in the first also belongs to bluedivvy
I made Mulee when I was super obsessed with deer, especially mule deer, because at the time my daemon was near settling as one and I was filming some local deer for a school project. I loved Mulee, mainly because she felt more unique and distinct than my previous canine sonas, and also I LOVED her colours. That being said I was never really satisfied with her because I didn't feel like a deer fit me as an animal in the way canines and such did. Still, I had Mulee for a long time and loved her a lot.
-Corvix (Corsac fox)
Maned wolf in the second pic belongs to mungosaur
I was back on my fox bullshit with Corvix. I abandoned Mulee in favour of a canine eventually, and I went for a corsac fox. She was cute, I liked her, but I never got really attached to her as a sona. She was more of a temporary thing.
-Grizzlee (Bear)
Bird in the first one belongs to mungosaur, rabbit is my bestie obv
And that brings us to Grizzlee, my current sona and the first one since Alaska I've felt satisfied with. I went back to Mulee's colours for her as well, strayed away from canines for some variety, but didn't stray TOO far from canines. So pretty much I feel like I wanna make a suit of her bc she's my favourite and I'm glad I waited to find one I really liked.
Okay that's the sona lore dump of all time goodbye!

funniest thing abt the changeling/augustus dynamic is that they both have dog fursonas, but augustus’ is very ‘i just think they’re neat’ motivated, contrasted to the changeling’s intense ‘this is the manifestation of Who I Am’ therian-esque motivation.
the funny thing about this is IF they wound up in some ‘animal transformation/daemon/etc’ situation, Augustus would 100% be a big goofy dog meanwhile the Changeling would be like, a hare
#N posts stuff#i like you too#ocs: changeling/augustus#the changeling wants to be a big scary predator SO bad but it is unbelievably prey-coded#augustus doesn’t care either way she’s just like. big clumsy golden retriever#the other funny thing about their dynamic is that i do think augustus is#maybe not Afraid but definitely Nervous around dogs of all shapes and sizes#bc she doesn’t like tht a dog might occasionally Jump on her or bark at her very loud#but then the Changeling is like. ‘yeah That’s a dog i like tho. my best friend who is also a dog :)’#btw augustus’s discomfort with dogs is still applicable in the transformation scenario#the fursona is neat bc it’s conceptual but Actual Dog would be like eeeeuh :(#so really neither of them would be walking out of that fantasy transformation scene happy lol
