•You first started acting as Nightingale's assistant when you began to notice how little free time your lovely girlfriend had

•So you decided if she couldn't get free time to spend with you, you might as well being the free time to her

•Most people probably couldn't tell given that they didn't know Florence as well as you did, but you could tell through her exterior that she was very happy that you decided to act as her assistant

•Maybe it was because she liked spreading medical knowledge to the one she loves, or it could be she loves spending time with you, it was likely they it was both

•The workers and other servants are very glad that you did this to btw, after all it's thanks to you being there that Nightingale has actually calmed down. If only just a little, and you can actually help pull her back from the extremes when it comes to her wanting to amputate limbs in response to injuries that don't require it

•You also benefit since when everything is calm and there aren't things that need to get done, you finally get to have private time with your beautiful girlfriend

•You'd think her insane strength makes it hard to cuddle her but actually she gives the best hugs and warmest cuddles be cause of it

Da vinci(Caster)

•When it comes to being Da vinci's assistant, let's just say your pretty in charge of making sure she doesn't do to much

•I think a lot people forget that Da vinci is different from most heroic spirits in that she has an actual living body that being one of a homunculus

•Meaning she's in danger of actually overworking herself, doesn't help that she's also the type to forget that herself when she's on a role

•So you gotta make sure she actually does get rest and actually freaking eats and drinks when needed, which is less so than actual human but still

•You've also been automatically in charge of making sure she actually baths, usually age has a type of alarm for as that But after finding out she actually listens to you more than the alarm she just relegated that job to you

•And yes lucky you, you actually get to bathe the gorgeous genius body that the Genius Da vinci has graced the world's presence with.

•Now when it comes actual work, you actually find yourself learning a crap ton of new things regarding magecraft and inventing which is actually a shock to both you and Da vinci

•which leads to you getting even more work on your plate cause now she wants to actually pass knowledge onto you that she thinks you'll find useful

•Just let her indulge in you, she's never really had the opportunity to interact with someone who was even a fraction As smart as her bad the fact that you may be a budding genius has her hyped

•So get ready cause now you're not just her wonderful assistant and boyfriend you're also now her apprentice

My full Zatanna Bring Down The House Review!

(spoiler filled, you have been warned!)

First of all I really enjoyed it, it is a very good characterization of Zatanna. We see her heroism and her innate desire to help people, even strangers, and people she doesn’t trust. Helping the magic users, and seeing her desire to do what’s right. She was determined and doesn’t hesitate to help, just like the hero she is.

She had a dry sense of humor, a showman personality and love of performing, her stubborn will and her temper as well. These are all traits that I have seen and consider to be consistent in Zee over the years. So seeing them be core to her in this book was very much appreciated.

I do have a couple narrative nitpicks, 1) she’s never killed anyone, ever. So the decision to have her accidentally kill a kid in the story was a shame to me. I don’t like the breaking of that 60 year record. My only comfort is that it technically isn’t canon. So technically her record is still intact.

2) is the casters doing logomancy. I think that should be something only Zataras can do. It’s such a unique style of spellcasting, and having other magic users be able to do it sort’ve undermines this unique concept. The original reason the Zataras spoke backwards was because they were descendants of Da Vinci. So others should find it extremely difficult to do if they can do it at all.

I’ve mixed opinions about the casters & bunnies in general. They remind me of the Homo Magi, And I couldn’t help but feel that making Zatara part of a secret magic group was just taking from Sindella’s origin. Which has already happened by making Zatara a Homo Magi, I think the casters easily could’ve been swapped for the Homo Magi. But they were interesting, warring factions of magic is always a fun concept.

One problem I have, that isn’t exclusive to this book, was having her not use magic much until the end. It’s very common for magic users to have this trope of powerlessness. Especially at the start of a hero’s journey. So, I recognize the story format but I’m tired of seeing it.

We’ve now have had 6 stories follow a similar route (7 soldiers, come together, Mystik U, Jewel of gravesend, mystery of the meanest teacher) also absolute power, and technically both JLD runs also begin similarly. Seeing Zatanna constantly at square one no longer serves her character, her story, and discards her history. We should move past stories centered on her not using magic and start moving on to stories of her being a fully realized sorceress.

My final big problem with the story is constantine’s inclusion. I’ve made posts on other platforms about how poorly he treats her and will eventually post one here. But in Bring Down The House he is once again made a part of her origin and revealed to be manipulating things behind the scenes, keeping secrets from her, and even lying to her because he knows better and is trying to “keep her safe.” It’s just an example of sexist tropes like him manipulating and infantilizing her. Which I am also sick of seeing.

That all being said the conclusion is the crown jewel of the story. It’s immensely satisfying. We got to see her transfiguring an army of demons easily. A powerful ability in her tool kit that I feel isn’t utilized as much as it used to be. The bunnies as allies was also fun, and having magical bunnies as allies and a part of her show is a fun and whimsical addition to her lore that I’ve wanted to see.

It was dare I say almost worth the typical and repetitive hero’s journey. While the decision to make Zatara the villain of this story was interesting, albeit not one I would have made. His defeat was wonderful and spectacular. It was emotional, impactful and bad ass. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Finally, it must be said and cannot be understated how beautiful the art was. It was colorful, whimsical, and just perfect for her story. It wove with the narrative seamlessly. I loved the artwork in this book. Truly blew me away.

So even though I have my criticisms and nitpicks, it was still a really fun and beautiful read, with a perfect ending. I wish the series was an ongoing, or led to a solo title for her because reading this showed how fun her story could be. All in all to me it was a 4/5.

Or the author read the prologue and section 1 of Lostbelt 7, and immediately took offense at events.

Because previous events had the protagonist start something by free fall. DEATH by free fall when there were so many many other options to handle things was just not okay.

Partner jokingly giving the MCU's portrayal of the Falcon/Sam Wilson's version of Captain America for inspiration helped. A lot.

Hello! I hope that you have are having an awesome day! Can i request yandere gudao, Gudako and Mash x Servant!Reader (Who is kinda like Zhongli from genshin impact in where each ascension reveals their divine nature and also the reader shares similar power sets. Not only that the reader has been with them since the beggining acting not just as a loyal servant but also a mentor and a support figure for them)

This is going to lean more into them being platonic and less romantic, I hope that's okay!

I kinda wish I could say that my time has been awesome, but after I finished my summer semester, my zombie air-conditioner told me to die on the hottest days of August. It's better now, though!

{Gudao, Gudako, and Mashu}

Fuyuki was a very stressful and hard time for all of them. There's a good bit of time between Fuyuki and Orleans because there's a lot of readjusting that has to be done now that there are only two mages, they're not even good ones, and Olga has passed. They are all very stressed and very depressed.

Lucky one of the servants that Chaldea happened to summon a servant who more than capable of being their to support them in their time of need!

Their first [five star] high ranking support Caster! However, Da Vinci and Romani aren't sure if it's actually the person they were trying to summon. They're dressed in nice enough clothes, very polite, and overall just shockingly normal. They know servants will be different depending on the class as well as the point in time they're taken from. But with all of Da Vinci's research, she's never heard of them acting like this.

Despite their unexpected personality and being new to Chaldea, they are quick to start their mentor roles with both their new masters and Mashu.

Starting when they lend an ear to listen to Gudao and Gudako's troubles. They are nervous to express how overwhelmed you are with being the only two masters left out of dozens of them. Plus, being traumatized by the sudden explosion, the bodies, thinking both they and Mashu would also die alongside them.

But they are nothing but kind and supportive. They don't sugar-coat it and lie to them, the up coming journey will be hard. They will be with them every step of the way and help them to become better mages. Gudao and Gudako couldn't be more relieved to finally have that off their chest.

Gudao and Gudako know that everyone is doing their best to get the current situation at least passable so they can do the Singularities and not let everyone die. But wow. Did it feel good for someone, anyone, to just sit down with them and be there for them.

Mashu is sort of in a similar place. Now, being a Shielder class, she isn't too sure how to be one due to the lack of information they have on them. They may not be a Shielder, but the new servant is a defense support servant. They can't help her in the 100% way she needs. They can still help her train and improve her skills.

She just jumps into training. Mashu just wants to be a good servant and protect her senpais and Chaldea. Which was a mistake. Her new teacher can immediately tell something is wrong and makes her stop. She can't be a good protector or have her training go anywhere with how she's feeling.

They sit her down with some tea and, like with the Gudas, talk about what's wrong. It's not just to optimize a training schedule, but because they care about master and don't want to see her in emotional pain. It goes similar to Gudas, if not more hesitate than them, having a different background. They're so patient with her and allow her to take her time, saying that she doesn't even have to admit her feelings fully or even say them at all. They just want her to know they are here for her.

It does make her emotional. So many heavy unexpected things have happened, and she might not express her feelings now or possibly later, but the feelings of support mean a lot to her.

As their time with Chaldea continues, they become more comfortable, they choose to acsend into their second ascension and stay in it. It's a lot more what was expected when they were first summoned. There is much more proper and traditional type of outfit. It's flowly and shows off the black and yellow patterns they hide under their sleeves.

With more and more servants that join Chaldea, they thought the masters and Mashu would branch off into hanging out with other servants. Especially the more lively ones, reading, drinking tea and training can only be so fun. But, they don't. Even Mashu, who use to be curious about their backgrounds. The only time they actually do is when suggested to. Gudas and Mashu seem to have fun, but they feel like it's only to make them happy...

The three of them like the other servants, and like Da Vinci and Romani. But like the servants' skills, they are a pillar that has kept them from Fuyuki to Camelot. They really don't know what this journey would have been like without them in it.

Their journey together seems to be ending very soon, and the three could not be more worried about. They should be happy that Chaldea is almost done and the world will he save. But they don't wanna let go. They don't want this consent in their life to leave them, and they want to see them go. At least the Lostbelts will happen!
