This story's already been published and finished, but I wanted to play around with the story cover.

It's for the story based off of Uglies.

Here's the story, in case you need a refresher:

somethingi n particular about pre-Megatron D-16 in Transformer One kept sounding weird familiar; D-16 sounds ALMOST exactly like another character but not one given much prominence and then it hit me:

Dion.

Orion Pax's friend alongside Ariel in G1, who was attacked by Decepticons and necessitated their rebuilding. I think Dion implicitly died, but some continuities have him as being rebuilt as Ultra Magnus?

Either way it seems very likely that D-16 is meant to BE Dion, or that he might have been on his way to claiming that as his name if things hadn't gone awry.

And now I think of it, its not unlikely he could have become Ultra Magnus. This take on Megatron has a big focus on rules and adherence to the system, which is VERY similar to most takes of Ultra Magnus as a stickler for the rules (sometimes played for comedy, sometimes portraying him as an unbending paragon who can be relied upon by Optimus).

If things had gone better, perhaps that's what would have happened? Becoming on-board with Pax's ideas, inspiring others to stand together, becoming inspired for a code to stand by absolutely no matter what. Taking up the name Dion, and then later on, the title of Ultra Magnus and making those old titles and ranks mean something, becoming a figure of unbending principle and resolve.

But that's not the story here:

as in G1, the day Optimus and Megatron became bitter enemies is the day D-16/Dion died.

TRANSFORMERS ONE TRAILER OPINIONS UNDER THE CUT

Cons: 

I love Bumblebee! He is one of my favourite Transformer characters! But even way back when this film was announced, I don’t think that he should have been in this particular movie. Hasbro said they were hoping to make a trilogy and I always thought it would’ve made more sense to introduce him in a sequel. I always thought it would have made more sense for Ratchet or Jazz or Dion to fill the role that he appears to be playing in this movie. And in general I feel Bumblebee is played a bit too OOC and kinda annoying. 

I am not a fan of the robot designs for the main four. I feel as though their silhouettes are all too similar. Remove the colours and I could not tell them apart. 

Also why is Elita-One a motorcycle? That’s Arcee’s vehicle! Why can’t see be truck like she usually is! 

Neutral:

The animation is definitely good quality, but after Spiderverse and Mutant Mayhem, I was hoping for something more stylised

I need to see more of Megatron before I form opinions of his portrayal here. 

I would prefer Orion to be a librarian but I’m interested to see him as a miner. At least they didn’t make him a fucking cop again. 

I was not expecting the Quintessons to show up. I like their designs but it makes me wonder what the overall plot of this film will be if it is going to be about the revolution at all? 

I hope we get a lot of cameos even if they don't get main roles!

Not sure how I feel about the lore changes of the Transformers not being able to transform until Alpha Trion gives them what looks like T-cogs (I hope they are not Matrixes).

But again a lot of the lore changes I can’t fully form opinions on until I see them fully explored in the movie.

 I liked what we saw of Orion and D-16’s dynamic so far but I can’t really have more of an opinion until we see more footage. 

Pros: 

I surprisingly really liked Chris Hemsworth as Orion both voice wise and what we’ve seen of his personality. 

Similarly I also really like ScarJo as Elita-One and her personality from what we have seen so far. And I love Elita so even having her here at all is fantastic!

I think the Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave designs are great, much more distinctive! 

It is also cool to see Arachnid get a spotlight in the trailer! It would be cool to see her play a main role in the plot! 

I am interested to see how they explore Cybertron here! Especially with it having more integrated organic life than i was expecting as well as the fact that our main four have never been to the surface 

Overall I am very excited for the movie! I am aware that I am probably being too nitpicky. I think I have to accept that how I personally would have told this story is probably not how they are going to tell it. And its probably not going to be as mature as I had hoped. 

But regardless of the trailers I will be seeing this on opening day anyway lol

I think… tbh most of the miners/cogless mechs have nicknames, right? Sure, everyone has a serial number like B-127 or D-16, but Orion and Jazz and Elita are already called by their names.

B-127 is physically isolated from others, so we can’t really look at him as an example, but.

D-16 is in the same unit as Orion and the others. He works under Elita the same as Orion does, he knows who all the miners on their team are. ‘D’ isn’t really a nickname so much as a shorthand version of his serial number— unless it would eventually become Dion.

But genuinely, I think part of why D-16 never gets a nickname until he names himself later on is he just straight up does not really go out of his way to interact with anyone other than Orion in any significant way? Orion comes to him, most of the time. Orion engages with their teammates for him. Orion brings him stuff, Orion causes disruption.

D-16 keeps his helm down and does his work and if Orion wasn’t there, I don’t think he’d bother with his teammates beyond working with them. He’s that quiet kid at the back of the class that’s got some anger management issues. And… I don’t think anyone else outside of Orion would think much of it. D-16 would probably just be known as a loner.

This showdown consists of 64 sibling sets facing off against each other, as well as a few one-off polls of sets who didn’t make the actual bracket but who I wanted to include in some capacity.  Polls will last a week.  Round One of section A will go live on April 16, with section B going live the day after, section C the day after that, and section D the day after that.

Ein musikalisches Highlight in Eckernförde – „Musical goes Christmas“

Eckernförde, die Perle der Ostsee, wurde am 22. Dezember 2024 Schauplatz eines außergewöhnlichen Events: Gerrit, Baumeister von Music-Events Eckernförde, lud zu einem unvergesslichen Abend ein.

Um 16 Uhr verwandelte sich die Stadthalle Eckernförde in eine glanzvolle Bühne, auf der große Musical-Stars ihr Können präsentierten. Die Original-Darsteller aus weltberühmten Musicals wie Mamma Mia, Ich war noch niemals in New York und Jesus Christ Superstar. Begleitet von der beeindruckenden Live-Band MusicalPeople wurden die Zuschauer mit festlichen Klängen und klassischen Weihnachtshits begeistert. Mit Liedern von Größen wie Michael Bublé, Céline Dion, Mariah Carey und vielen mehr bot der Abend eine perfekte Mischung aus Musical-Glanz und Weihnachtszauber.

Roberta Valentini begeistert das Publikum

Eines der absoluten Highlights des Abends war der Auftritt von Roberta Valentini, eine der bekanntesten und gefeiertsten Musicalstars der deutschsprachigen Bühne. Mit ihrer unvergleichlichen Stimme und intensiven Bühnenpräsenz verzauberte sie das Publikum. Ihre Darbietungen, insbesondere Lieder aus den Musicals Elisabeth, wo sie die Titelrolle verkörperte, und Wicked, in dem sie als Elphaba brillierte, rührten die Zuschauer zu Standing Ovations. Roberta beeindruckte zudem mit einer kraftvollen Interpretation klassischer Weihnachtshits und gab dem Abend eine magische und emotionale Tiefe. Ihre Performance war ein Beweis für ihre herausragenden Fähigkeiten und machte den Abend für viele zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis.

Karim Khawatmi: Energie und Charme pur

Nicht weniger beeindruckend war der Auftritt von Karim Khawatmi, einem weiteren Star des Abends, der mit seiner energiegeladenen Performance und charismatischen Ausstrahlung die Bühne zum Leben erweckte. Karim, bekannt aus Produktionen wie Miss Saigon, Starlight Express und Die Schöne und das Biest, zeigte sich einmal mehr als vielseitiger Künstler. Seine Interpretation von Udo Jürgens’ Hits und seine dynamischen Performances, gepaart mit einem Hauch von Humor, brachten eine lebendige, festliche Stimmung in die Stadthalle. Karim verstand es meisterhaft, das Publikum in seinen Bann zu ziehen, und verlieh dem Abend eine unnachahmliche Dynamik.

Fazit: Ein Abend voller Magie und Emotionen

Das Zusammenspiel von Roberta Valentini und Karim Khawatmi, begleitet von der herausragenden Live-Band MusicalPeople, machte den Abend zu einem glanzvollen Höhepunkt in der Vorweihnachtszeit. Dieses Event bewies erneut, warum Eckernförde nicht nur die schönste Ostseebucht Deutschlands ist, sondern auch ein Zentrum für erstklassige kulturelle Veranstaltungen. Ein großes Dankeschön an Gerrit und das Team von Music-Events Eckernförde für diesen unvergesslichen Abend!

So I learned about the character Dion properly last night and today (I saw him elsewhere before but I thought he was a character someone made up)

I don’t know if anyone else needs this context but I want to say anyways: from what I understand, Dion was Orion Pax’s friend who worked on the docks with him and Ariel in the g1 continuity, until Megatron attacked and shot the three down. Orion became Optimus and Ariel became Elita, but Dion was never spoken of again. Some people theorize he was rebuilt too, though again, it isn’t known if he was. The most popular theory is that he became Ultra Magnus, though Ironhide was another option, and series have teased the Ultra Magnus theory sometimes

I’ve also seen some people who know of him take the character and make him D-16/Megatron (including that someone), and I really like that idea actually

I have this idea now of after the three getting attacked, the Decepticons take Dion and rebuild him into a new powerful one, while Alpha Trion does the same with the other two. Maybe he did something that caught their interest, I don’t know. But they build him and make him a new Decepticon commander who eventually leads the faction. But also they wipe his memory and reprogram him, since he was more aligned with the Autobot side, so he doesn’t know his previous identity; he thinks he’s always been Megatron, or maybe D-16 if he had a fake backstory

So Optimus and Elita think that Dion died, meanwhile he’s Megatron and none of them know it. I mean they might figure it out eventually, for that angsty reveal (especially if there was romance involved in their prior life)

I think I’m enamored by the idea right now because it has the friends to enemies, but without the actual falling out that would come with that trope. I like having my cake and eating it too

Would this Dion Megatron have a turn once he realized what he is? Eh, depends on how much crime he’s done and how far he’s fallen. Though it leans on no because Megatron tends to be the leader of the Decepticons, and with that there is a lot of crimes to atone for. Would probably end up more a Senator Shockwave situation, but you could still spin it another way if you wanted

Megatron had different names before taking the name megatron. Original being d-16 then Dion,

Optimus was a space bridge repair woman before her book on cybertron history and such gotten the attention of Alpha and gotten her a job at the Iacon records.

Megatron was once a minor at the middle of nowhere with sentinel in charge. After the mine was shut down due to sentinel horrid deeds came to light. She she took up bodyguard work and dipping into the arena in secret.

"Three Draft Evaders Are Sentenced To Terms In Jail," Windsor Star. September 29, 1943. Page 3 & 6. --- Prosecutor Says Other's Are Sought ---- Trio Will Be Turned Over to Military Authorities at End of Terms ---- "I understand that several hundred young men are being looked up in this district as draft evaders," stated A. P. Gignac, special prosecutor for the Windsor Selective Service office, in city police court this morning when three men were sentenced to jail terms after Magistrate D. M. Brodie found them guilty of failing to notify Selective Service officials of changes of address.

MUST SERVE NOTICE "Some notice must be served on these fellows that they must report such changes of address," Mr. Gignas continued, "and if they don't some- thing serious will happen to them The special prosecutor was speaking to the court in regard to the charge against Camille Gravelle, 20, of 86 Elm street west, Sudoury, who was found guilty of draft evasion and sentenced to three months in jail. At the end of that term, His Worship instructed that Gravelle be turned over to military authorities and transferred to a military training centre for induction into the army.

TWO SENTENCED Later in the morning on complaints by local Royal Canadian Mounted Police officials, Roland James Dion, of 180 Pitt street east, and Laszlo Szilagyi, 1478 Lillian street, pleaded guilty to similar charges and were sentenced to $25 and costs or one month in the county jail, in addition to one month in jail. At the expiration of the terms the two men are to be turned over to military authorities for induction at an army training centre.

Gravelle was described by Magistrate Brodie as one who wandered around from one place to another to avoid being drafted into the army. "He has never submitted for a medical examination." Mr. Gignac informed in the court, "although he was served in Sudbury last year with his military at call-up notice."

TOLD TO REPORT In the case of Gravelle, G. H. Preston, district enforcement officer of civilian regulations of Selective Service, told the court that Gravelle was taken into police custody on August 6 of this year, and at that time was told an by Mr. Preston and F. G. Bound, Selective Service officer, to report to the local office for a working permit. The following day he reported and was given a permit to apply for employment at the Ford Motor Company. According to Selective Service files he 8 started work at that plant on August 9, but on August 12 claimed he was dissatisfied with the job and left immediately.

"He appeared at our office again d on August 16," Mr. Preston continued it his evidence. "A previous file of his made out in 1942 showed he was 19 years of age at that time. His registration card in August of this year gave his age as 18 years. When questioned about this discrepancy Gravelle ran from our office, leaving behind his National Registration card and other personal effects.

PICKED UP IN SUDBURY "On August 21 he reported to me at my office and was told to report for work at the Ford Motor Company.

On September 10 we received information from that company that Gravelle had not started to work there on the арpointed date. We later located him at Delhi, Ontario, but he left there and was finally picked up at his home in Sudbury, from where he was brought back here to answer the charges."

Gravelle, in his own defence, claimed that he had made application for enlistment in the Royal Canadian Navy and came to Windsor from Sudbury to await his call-up. On the way down from the North he was told at the Toronto naval headquarters that it would be a short time before he would be called up.

When questioned by Mr. Gignat, Gravelle professed ignorance of any Army call-up being sent him to his Sudbury address. He claimed to be in Windsor at the time.

"Why did you leave the Ford Motor Company the first time you were employed there?" Mr. Gignac questioned. "I couldn't stand the continual graveyard shift there," the defendant replied. Upon further questioning by the me prosecution, Gravelle admitted that he did know the Army was trying to contact him with his call-up notice,

FOUND GUILTY "I am finding you guilty," Magistrate Brodie told Gravelle. "It is apparent that when you were in Sudbury you worked for the International at Nickel Company, which is an essential war industry, to be excused from the Army. Then you left there and wandered around the country to avoid being drafted by the Army."

"He is one of the many that police of officers are trying to apprehend," Mr. Gignac told the court. "I understand that several hundred are being looked up right in this district alone, and in some notice must be served to these fellows to report. If they don't something serious will happen to them."

"You should give me at least one break," Gravelle pleaded when he heard that he was found guilty.

"You have had several breaks," His Worship replied. "I am sentencing you to three months on this charge, and also instructing that you be sent to the nearest military training centre under police guard at the expiration of the term to be inducted into the Army."

PLEAD GUILTY In the charges brought against Dion and Szilagyi, who both pleaded guilty. R.C.M.P. Constable Lazelle stated that both men had failed to re-register as instructed last spring under the Mobilization Act.

"Dion has had several changes of address," the officer pointed out, "and Szilagyi has moved twice without providing proper authorities with that information."His Worship sentenced both men to fines of $25 and costs or one month, with an additional one month in the county jail. He also issued instructions that they be taken by military authorities at the end of their prison terms and be inducted into the Army.
