In which Cynthia’s life changed drastically after falling head over heels with a man that promised her the moon and the stars. She takes us down the memory lane of what could’ve been— the perfect marriage.

I do not condemn any of the portrayals I decide to do about certain people, it’s just fanfiction. And it would be divided in parts.

When I surprised him with my new look, he was taken aback at first then a huge smile appeared on his face, even his eyes glimmered.

“Look at ya! You look like a little doll.” Austin said to me as one of fingers played with a piece of my hair. “It makes your eyes stand out more.” He then grabbed my chin firmly. “I like you brunette and with less makeup. This is what I like.”

Bullshit. All he said was bullshit. If he liked me so much when I looked like this then why did he go after Lily-Rose’s tail. Why did he take her out for dinner? Why did he make out with her afterwards? Was I ever going to be enough for him? Because he hadn’t touch me since we were in Australia. And whenever he did, it was loveless.

I confronted him about what happened with Lily, we were having breakfast and I had seen the photos ENews published of Austin and Lily making out after having dinner together.

“Baby, it ain’t nothing, it’s just publicity.” He tried to defend himself, I only glared at him.

“Don’t call me baby.” I spat out harshly, I don’t know why but knowing that he probably called Lily ‘baby’ made me gag. As it had happened with Olivia.

“It’s PR an-” I interrupted him, standing up from the my chair.

“What’s going on?! Why doesn’t she go back to France where she belongs?” I yelled at him as I hit the table with my hands.

I couldn’t really read his face, he was in between being mad and taken aback. Of course he also stood up and grabbed my shoulder, tugging me a little.

“Listen to me. Cynthia. I need a woman who understands that things like this might happen. Are you gonna be her or not? He asked, looking down on me as if I were an spoiled child getting reprimanded.

“Okay.” Was all I said as I left the dining room.

After the incident happening, Austin started to be loving all over again, he had invited to have dinner with him and some castmates. I decided to accept after he begged me for days, I was still mad at him but I decided that maybe this could help us get closer.

I dressed up, monochrome clothing, black pants, cute pink top, I styled my hair and we were on our way to the restaurant. It was a sushi place, it had private karaoke and everything. I recognized some of them, Barry Keoghan and his girlfriend, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle and others.

It was a nice dinner and food was delicious, although my mind was somewhere else, I was worried because I had left Lori back home with the nanny.

“Don’t worry too much, she’s being well taken care of.” Austin squeezed my hand. I simply hummed and nodded.

Feeling someone’s stare, I looked in front of me and there surely was Callum’s gaze lingering my face down my neck. His eyes went back to my face and he quickly snapped out of his trance, smiling at me and then looking at me. Weird, I thought, but it was the first time in months that a man ever looked at me like that. He didn’t talk to me much, but he surely did talk to the wives and girlfriends of his castmates. But he did look at me a lot, his foot touching mine from underneath the table.

Austin had always been charismatic but he was very, very shy so a karaoke was like social suicide to him. But Callum— he was another story. After a few sips of some Asian liquor, he was sure to go next on the karaoke.

“You should sing an Elvis song, Aus.” I whispered to Austin, trying to cheer him because it was truly getting boring.

“No, Cyn— I’ll just embarrass myself.” Austin denied it, he stayed at the booth and I rolled my eyes, I saw Barry’s girlfriend and a producer’s wife laughing with everyone as Barry and the producer sang ‘Heart of Glass’ without hitting a single note.

Laughing but at the same time feeling like I wasn’t enjoying this as I should, Callum made his way to me swiftly. Clearing his throat and sitting on the booth.

“Should I sing?” Callum spoke to me with his amazing voice and British accent, catching my attention.

“If you want to.” I shrugged my shoulders.

“I’ll sing one for ya. You’ll see, cause now— your man is as boring as a math class.” I chuckled and thought he was just joking. But then he got up and grabbed the mic, quickly searching for the song. As the instrumental started to play— I recognized that guitar riff everywhere. ‘Layla’.

As not everyone knows, the song was written by Eric Clapton, confessing his love to George Harrison’s wife, Pattie Boyd. I thought he must be just trying to lead me on, everyone cheered for Callum and his god-awful singing. Maybe it was to play it off but he started to jokingly point at whatever girl was taken. Everyone took it as a joke, even Austin. But towards me, he was a bit more serious.

‘I tried to give you consolation from when your old man let you down.’

‘Like a fool, I fell in love with you. You turned my whole world upside down.’

‘Layla, you’ve got me on my knees. I’m begging darling, please.’

He sang it directly to me, he tried to be playful and everything, but I knew he was serious. I just chuckled and tried to play it off. Was it so wrong that I wanted to tear his clothes off even if my husband was besides me? I could say the same things Austin said: ‘I’m a woman, I have needs, it’s in my dna.’

When the guys went to pay, I saw Callum grabbing his jacket, I got closer to him.

“What was that?” I asked, wanting an explanation.

“What, sweetheart?” He asked, acting oblivious, seeing my annoyed face, he chuckled. “It’s just a song, baby.”

“Don’t call me baby, I’m not your baby.” I said as I rolled my eyes.

“Come on. I could’ve sang you an Spectrum song. What about ‘How you satisfy me’?” He looked around a little before starting to pretend to have a microphone on his hand. “Honey, your love is what I need…”

“It’s not funny.” I protested in annoyance, Callum looked at the guys paying, he then smirked and looked back at me.

“You know what’s funny? That you didn’t shut me off when I was staring at you, you liked it.” Callum whispered on a teasing manner.

“I’m a married woman, for your information.” I showed my wedding ring.

“That hasn’t stopped me before and it won’t stop me now. Austin doesn’t act like the married man either.”

That was like a stab in my heart, it was humiliating that everyone else knew he was unfaithful, he immediately dropped his smirk.

“I’m sorry— I just like you a lot.” I nodded at Callum, he was beautiful but, he wasn’t what I liked.

Callum just pressed his lips together, he was going to walk off but he stopped to say something.

“If you ever feel, lonely or abandoned. Just call me.” Callum said before he waved at all of us and walked out of the restaurant.

Austin and I went back home, I tried wearing black negligee, hoping he’ll touch me again. It didn’t work, he pushed me off.

“I’m not in the mood, honey. Let’s just sleep.”

Frustrated, I tucked myself under the covers and tried to fall asleep. I knew he was turned on— he was. He just didn’t want to touch me. My days were getting boring, I wished I had something to film, some script sent to me, anything. Everyday I woke up with the hope of getting a text or an email with a new script.

I thought of Callum’s proposition everyday, I was indeed very lonely. My mind went on and on about his words: ‘If you ever feel, lonely or abandoned. Just call me’

I ended up calling him, just a night out as friends, yeah, friends with capital F. I got ready, I wore a black short skirt and a nice little cardigan. I decided to wear my now light-brown hair on a side ponytail and I styled out my bangs. And surely, Callum and I met at the movies.

We were watching a foolish movie. I was barely even looking at the movie, I was looking at him the whole time and he knew it because I saw that stupid little smirk of his. Swiftly, he placed his hand on my knee, making me smile and look away shyly, like a teenager. After the movie, we got into his car— nervous to do anything wrong, I was very quiet.

“So, you’re lonely all the time?” Callum asked, breaking the silence. I stayed silent, looking out the window. “Tell me, you know it’s just your foolish pride.”

“I stay back home. I’m waiting for a good script to come to me.”

“So what do you even do? You’re lonely and no man is waiting by your side. You seem like the perfect target for a man like me.” Callum joked, I laughed too.

I felt at ease with him, we had a lot of fun even while driving around London. He parked in front of my house, I was in silence. He leaned in and kissed me, not aggressively but romantically, I liked the kiss so I continued it. I never thought I’d make love on the back of a car, afterwards I felt really regretful of it, I was just like Austin now— I had been unfaithful.

“What is it, sweetheart?” He asked after we had gotten dressed again. He caressed my cheek.

“I shouldn’t have done this.” I said in regret, but he just smiled.

“Hell yeah you should have done so. Time for him to get a taste of him own medicine.” Callum said, I had a mental argument with myself.

Should I keep this going or not? I was a woman with needs and wishes of being desired by my husband but he always decided to turn around and go with other women.

“When do we see each other again?” I asked him, if I was going to cheat, might as well enjoy so.

My relationship with Callum developed into an affair, very passionate affair. While Austin was away having his fun around London and on set hanging out with Callum, we both texted each other behind his back.

Callum reminded me a lot of myself actually, I had told him one time that I liked blonde-haired men and the next day he texted me telling me that he was at a hairdressers appointment, he surprised me with a selfie of him full on blonde, which he already was naturally. He was scolded by producers. I also told him I liked trench coats and men wearing black slacks, next Sunday night, he’s wearing all of that. I was starting to be as demanding as Austin— and I hated it. What if he was feeling pressured or if he started to feel like I felt?

“It’s boring being the same everyday, sweetheart.” Callum chuckled with me, caressing my cheek softly.

“I don’t want you changing yourself.” I said, a bit sternly. “But blonde does bring out your face more, it makes your eyes stand out more.”

I sounded just like Austin. Just like him. Callum and I spent that night together too, but we were surprised when Austin came home earlier. My acting career prepared me all my life for this, Callum was surprisingly smooth, as he pretended to be coming out of the bathroom fixing his shirt while I quickly made the bed and fixed my smeared lipstick.

“What is he doing here?” Austin asked suspiciously.

“He came over, he said he wanted to see Lori and he thought you were here.” I said confidently as Callum nodded from the couch where he was watching Lori play.

“I thought you were here, mate. Sorry bout that.” Callum said, playing innocent for most part. Austin just nodded and took off his coat, placing it on the rack, he bent down to pick up Lori and placed a kiss on her cheek. He walked up to me and he wiped some runny eyeliner. It had smeared on the corner of my eye because of Callum and I having out little get-together in bed.

“Your makeup is all smeared.” He said, his touch being anything but gentle. He then grabbed me by the waist and pulled me closer, he was jealous. Jealous because Callum was there.

“I know— the weather is wet. It makes my eyeliner smear.” I said, I used waterproof eyeliner.

We had dinner together all night, all of us, it was rather uncomfortable. Austin was really jealous.

“You like my wife?” Austin tried to be playful while hiding his jealousy.

“I’d snatch her and Lori at any minute.” Callum answered back jokingly. “I’m kidding but y’all are beautiful family.”

Callum said all while looking at me, I wanted to kill him right there. I just nodded and smiled. And you know what? For the first time in so long— I felt alive.

you should've known it was coming. all the signs were there: acne around your chin and along your jaw, a little more tired than usual, slightly more emotional or sensitive, the damn cramps that were tormenting your lower abdomen currently as you waited for mrs. click to finish her spiel on the causes of world war one so you could leave for your locker for some medicine.

as soon as the bell rang, you were up. you were the first one out actually, but you didn't pay the laughter coming from behind you any mind. you had a mission and you were focused. get to your locker. get some medicine. go to the bathroom. maybe skip the rest of the day depending on if the medicine helped any or not.

your locker was in sight. you could see it and you had never been so happy to see that metal cabinet. you were almost there, nearly seven steps from it, when someone's hands landed on your waist, pulled you towards the wall, and spun you around.

to say you were surprised to see that it was eddie munson would've been an understatement. he usually stayed in his own lane for the most part, other than his occasional rants in the cafeteria. he was normally all over the place too, but right now as you studied his expression to figure out why he had pulled you aside, he appeared rather focused, determined even.

since he didn't seem to be speaking, only looking at you with an almost uncomfortable and unsure face, you asked him, "can i help you?"

"um." his eyes left yours before looking at almost everything else, trying to think you assumed. you watched an idea pop into his head and he start to shrug off his jacket. "here."

now, it was you who was unsure and confused.

"what?" you didn't take it. you weren't cold. the offer was nice, but you didn't understand the meaning behind it.

he sighed, seeming a little fed up, and stepped closer to you. he leaned down a touch and started to wrap his jacket around your waist. you didn't stop him but did again question him.

"eddie, what are you doing?" you inquired as he tied the sleeves securely. he looked up at you before standing to his full height and leaning towards your ear.

"you've got a little crimson situation going on," he whispered in explanation and pulled back to see if you understood what he was hinting at. at first, your brows furrowed together, but he watched your face morph into realization and then embarrassment. they were laughing at you as you walked out of class earlier and as you looked around the hall, you could see a good amount of eyes on you with amused smiles just below them.

"hey," eddie's voice called to you, bringing your focus back to him, "don't worry about them." he saw your eyes falter back to them and turned to see who exactly you were looking at. "stephen still says 'pacific' instead of 'specific'. jennifer threw up all over steve harrington in front of everyone at a party a couple weeks ago. cynthia had the same thing happen to her last year and it was way worse than what you've got. it looked like a murder scene and yours is like the size of a quarter maybe. they have absolutely no room to be laughing at you at all. they're just upset that this is as high as they're going to get. after high school, nothing will be better than this to them which is sad, but it's their funeral."

you appreciated his words and they definitely made you feel a little better about things. you had never really paid attention to eddie. sure, you had noticed his confidence and pride, but you never saw how kind he was nor how thoughtful he could be either.

"thank you, eddie. i'll get your jacket back to you tomorrow, i promise."

he returned the smile you sent him but noticed you lean to walk the way opposite of your locker towards the exit. "you leaving?"

"yeah?" you responded in a questioning tone, wondering what else he wanted to discuss.

eddie knew where you lived—it was a few houses down from gareth's—and he knew that it was a good walk away on a normal day. he didn't feel right letting you walk there as you were now. "let me drive you home."

"eddie, you don't have to. you've already done plenty for me."

"i want to," he mentioned, waiting to get your okay which came in the form of a nod. "you need anything else from here?"

"other than the bathroom, nope." you could get medicine at home.

"alright then," he started with a grin growing on his lips that brought an unfamiliar warmth to your chest, "i'll wait out here for you and then we'll go."

you nodded to him once more. "thanks eddie."

"no problem, sweetheart."

Lois's Aritcle/Visiting Muse Epilogue:

"I've spent the past few months at a very special place. I've seen so many strange and amazing things I could write a book about it (in fact I DID write a book about it, there should be an ad for it under this article unless the publisher decided to rip me off...). There's a strange villa across the sea where people from all over come to relax and feel at home. People that you would never think would click hang out there like it's the most natural thing in the world, somehow putting aside their differences and troubles to relax and enjoy the healing aura this place provides.

I saw people that would be at home anywhere.

I saw people that could be themselves only there.

And of course my lovely photographer got tons of great shots of the beautiful landscape.

I saw people that never thought they'd smile again laughing with their whole heart.

It's a beautiful place that welcomes everyone and melts conflict away...

As a response to a post I reblogged yesterday( i think at the time of writing this), here are some pokemon champions as friends content in the form of headcannons. I’m avoiding my ships for this, so there’s barely any Diantha/Lance and Steven/Cynthia head cannons.

Diantha and Cynthia are very close friends. Both of them have a terrible sweet tooth. Diantha picks up ten boxes of chocolates with all the varieties. Most of the champions don’t have such a big sweet tooth as Diantha and Cynthia do.

Cynthia is very indecisive. Like in the anime, she keeps the line waiting for HOURS. Whenever she shared free time with Lance, Steven, and Diantha each or all together, they help her narrow down her choices to one item for each type (ex. one jacket, one shirt, one romper). Lance is the quickest at helping Cynthia. He’s a bit annoyed, but he’ll do anything other than League work.

Steven has some flavor of neurodivergence. I used to headcannon that he had OCD, but I don’t think that’s right. I don’t know exactly what OCD affects. I have inattentive ADD, and I think he’s like me, sorting stuff for three days. As his childhood friend, Wallace trained his way to get to the caliber of Champion to sub for Steven when Steven is busy with Devon Corp or getting out of cave.

Lance and Wallace know how to make food. Lance can cook. Wallace can bake. Steven and Cynthia can’t cook. If a person had a gun to their head, and their only way to live is to make food, the shooter might as well pull the trigger.

Steven would live off of Wallace’s baking for a time before Wallace caught on. Well, it was Lisia who told him about it.

Lance, in the other hand, knows fully Cynthia can’t cook at all. He tried teaching her, but she ended up making a fire. She does apologize for it all the time. Lance forgave her long before.

Diantha also knows how to bake. She and Wallace trade recipes. That one Water Elite Four member approves of their baking. Wallace grew up with only knowing Sootopolis pastries. He’s really interested in other desserts in the world. He loves Kalosian desserts the most. It’s aesthetically pleasing and delicious. Diantha loves Wallace’s praises of Kalosian desserts. He just goes on and on about it.

Cynthia is the youngest of Wallace, Steven, Diantha, and Lance. She’s the youngest sister of the friend group. Lance is the oldest of the group. He’s the over protective brother of the group. Diantha is the second oldest. She acts more like a comforter. Diantha let Steven cry in her shoulder when she heard Steven’s mom died. Wallace and Steven are the two kids who fight for everything.

I like to imagine a scenario like Lance is driving because he’s the one of the champions who can drive at the time, and Steven tells Wallace they’re probably going to arrive at x time and it’s gonna take x amount time to get there. Wallace disagrees and uses his own direction app to prove he’s right. Meanwhile Lance is trying to turn into the carpool lane because some driver shouldn’t have a license. Diantha is probably telling Wallace and Steven to shut up because while Lance has the patience of a saint, that patience can still run out. Diantha’s words go unheard while Cynthia is just silently watching, preparing to meet an angry Lance. After getting so fed up, Lance changes to the slowest route imaginable out of spite. He regrets his decision since Cynthia keeps asking him if they’re there yet. She’s asking because she’s bored and annoyed that she has to be next to Wallace and Steven who are squishing her. Lance tells her to blame Wallace and Steven.

Wallace is older than Steven. Wallace is almost a year older than Steven. Steven was born the day before Wallace’s birthday. Wallace is taller than Steven. Wallace always brags how Steven never grew an inch past the age of ten.

Steven is in fact the shortest of the adult champions. Iris is like half a foot shorter than him. He’s often mistaken for a child. Iris always asks for two children’s menus at any get-togethers. It’s times like those when Steven misses Alder.

Alder annoyed Lance to a tremendous degree. It’s mainly because, as the oldest, teaching Alder about the Japanese-inspired regions’ customs normally fell on to Lance. Alder is still respected by him, but it’s still annoying. Lance also found it very annoying that Alder would try to date Cynthia even though she was adamant in not being interested.

When Steven did tell Lance and Wallace about his crush on Cynthia, Lance and Wallace simultaneously said “we know.” or “congratulations for wasting our time on something we already know.” Steven is just stunned. He asked how they knew. To which Lance and Wallace went on a five hour rant session, explaining how painfully obvious Steven was.

Lance knows for a fact that of all the champions, people tend to kind of favor him the least. What I mean is that some people don’t really see him as a champion. He’s only a fill-in because Red left. Other people blatantly antagonize him due to how he got the title. He didn’t defeat Red at all. Lance knows he has the least fans out of all the champions. He knows the reasons. Therefore, Iris tries her best to call him by Dragon Master Lance instead. He always smiles hearing her say it. He’s awestruck to believe Iris admires him so much.

As for the other champions’ opinions on the general consensus on Lance, they all feel bad, of course they do. Wallace even more so since he too has some people who see him like that too. It’s only because he’s Top Coordinator Wallace doesn’t get the same treatment. Contests are harder than battles, so of course Wallace isn’t getting unanimous negative attention. Wallace does talk to Lance about it. Lance is more comfortable talking to Wallace about his situation than the others since Wallace only beat Steven when they were kids. Wallace only gets the title of champion when Steven doesn’t feel like it, or is busy.

Steven doesn’t really get the whole idea of it. Steven doesn’t like talking about it because he hates people talking about his friend in such a negative light. All the times he heard about it, he found it online. He found out it wasn’t just online discourse on a trip to Kanto for business purposes. He heard some guy call Lance the Fake Champion and how back in his day the champion title was earned through beating the champion rather than being served on a silver platter. He even said how Lance could be easily beaten if two children beat Lance, so could he. Besides, being the champion is really easy, so why is Lance having such a hard time with that stuff? Is it because he isn’t ready for it because he’s not a strong enough trainer? Probably. When Steven found out that same guy was a Silph Co. employee, he punched the guy in the face and told him to challenge Lance at Indigo Plateau right here and now and see how easy being the champion of two regions really is.

Cynthia has plans of murder for anyone who talks shit about Lance. He’s such a nice guy! He probably does the most champion duties than the others. And he somehow has to do two regions! Cynthia can only survive with one. But two? No not at all. Those people better get ready to pray to Arceus because the last thing they’ll see is a Garchomp.

Diantha understands the general public opinion. She doesn’t agree with it. She loves Lance. She wouldn’t date him if that wasn’t the case. Diantha is often seen as an angel in the public eye, so she is very vocal about her opinions on Lance. People are surprised to hear her talk about him in such an admirable way.

Leon avoids anything to do with the league, so he doesn’t get to witness any Lance negativity, but he definitely hears about it. From the number one Galarian Lance fan that is.

Cynthia and Wallace talk about Hoenn’s history. She’s really interested about the history of the Regi’s. She also invites Leon, but all Leon hears is just gibberish. He’s just happy to be here.

I know said this before, but I’ll say it again: Wallace and Lance judge Leon for his cape design. They hate it. A cape is not a billboard! A cape is supposed to be statement as said by Wallace. A cape is a sign of status and power as Lance puts it. They do not talk to Leon as much as the others because they sip their tea and silently judge. When it comes to capes, Lance and Wallace are telepathically linked.

Lance and Wallace have a closer relationship than what the media lets on. They have a lot of similarities. Lance is supposed to be the heir of an important clan. Wallace is a descendant of an ancient race that is super important to the history of Hoenn. The Blackthorn Dragon Clan must have some historical relevance in Johto history. Right? Cape enthusiasts. They both have Gyarados on their team. That has to count for something. Besides, they both take turns teaching Steven about women.

Steven off handedly mentioned something related to having a penis in front of Clair when she was super young. Let’s just say Steven is aware of how much a Dragon Master can fuck you up. Specifically the only redhead in the Blackthorn Dragon Clan.

Steven then did it again, but this time he experienced the wrath of being a Coordinator. Steven learned how terrifying Gorrebyss really is. This may or may not be recorded in the Pokedex. Poor Lisia had to learn about sexual content and tentacle stuff at the age of five. This is why she has a fear of any tentacled pokemon. Thanks, Steven.

Lance and Wallace made sure to visit Cynthia’s family together just in case Cynthia’s little sister learned anything new about boys or baby making. Also they want to ensure Steven doesn’t get teared to shreds by Garchomp.

Diantha, luckily, is an only child, so she doesn’t have any younger siblings awaiting to be terrorized by Steven’s big fat mouth. However, Diantha did learn the urinal etiquette though. She does make jokes about it with Lance sometimes.

Cynthia also heard about urinal etiquette from Steven. However, she was interested. She kept on asking Steven about the urinal etiquette until her grandmother walked in. Let’s just say Cynthia kept on leaning in Steven’s direction sub consciously. Yeah, Steven was banned from Cynthia’s childhood home for at least 15 years until he proposed to Cynthia. Cynthia’s grandmother still hates him.

Also Steven knows how much a kick to the balls hurts is thanks to Zinnia. He told Wallace after, and Wallace just cackled.

Cynthia and Diantha are given modeling opportunities al the time.

Diantha has official merch of her. It just so happens Lance’s League room has a bookcase full of her merch. One Champion meeting in the Indigo League, Diantha needed to go to the bathroom and stumbled into Lance’s bedroom for the League. She found the Diantha merch bookshelf, and after the meeting Cynthia asked why Diantha was so quiet. Diantha tells Cynthia about the bookcase and just teleports out of Kanto.

Steven told Lance about Team Galactic so that Cyrus could get beat up. Steven only did that because Cyrus called Cynthia a freak. Little did Steven know, Lance would soon find out about Cyrus’s comments on Cynthia, and oh what’s this? Cyrus was found dead in Jubilife. Huh? What a coincidence that Lance was spotted there.

Steven has a weird obsession over Diantha’s Carbink. He asks if he could just “borrow” Carbink for a month or two. Diantha shuts him down. She knows Steven just wants Diancie, his second love. Seriously, one night Steven, drunken, told Diantha that if Cynthia chose someone else he’d move to Kalos to live in a cave with Diancie as his queen and love of his life.
