Had the lamb continued the experiments Narinder got banished for now that that they are both free
Y’know I can’t really draw this content out so I’ll give a text response
CW: Depictions of cruelty
-
Narinder: “Experiments? My, I am not quite sure what you mean by that, mortal.”
He’s sporting a kindly appearance, yet something belligerent was brewing beneath that facade of his. Veins of ichor crawled up the red of his sclera, just barely visible beneath the shade of his beaded veil.
Narinder: “Surely you are not aware of more than you should know?”
Indeed, in an act of servitude for their spouse, the Lamb had provided him with the ability to continue the experimentation that he’d previously been banished out of the realm Above for. The Lamb had created a special little cellar for him, lying just beneath the surface of the temple grounds. At the dead of night, when everyone is lying peacefully asleep, the muffled screams of the most despised heretics and dissenters would resonate from beneath the floorboards… then disappear without a trace.
Residents of the Cult make no comments regarding the disappearances of their fellow members.
The Cult Leaders—whatever they do, all of it is for the greater good.

cougghhhhh erm welp TIME FOR HEINOUS HEADCANONS-
Cw for : Sadism, Soul Torture, Punishment, Cruelty, Abuse, Disassociation mention, Killer abuse <3333, etc
euuh dunno how else to tag this but if there’s anything else I should feel free to tell me
I like to Imagine that for when Killer has done something to REALLY piss off Nightmare, as punishment Nightmare will take Killers soul (as usual) and ‘drown it’ or dunk it continuously in tubs/containers of determination. Because if I remember correctly the DT does in fact hurt Killer so why wouldn’t he take advantage of that?
Killer forced to the ground a trembling spasming mess while his whole body feels like it’s being constantly dumped with buckets of searing hot water and agonizing pain as his soul is lifted up and down into the bucket of DT again, and again, and again.
Eventually his soul being returned to him much to Nightmares displeasure because he wouldn’t want to lose another one of his subordinates just yet. Especially not in such a pathetic way of not being able to handle just a little punishment.
Killer is just left on the floor with his soul dripping in DT, distorted and messy. Choking on the DT that bubbles in his throat and almost blinded by the DT that flows thick and heavy from his sockets.
Usually after this he’ll usually coop himself up in his room for a while, buried in his bedsheets and blankets with his doors locked, (not that it’ll do much to stop anyone coming in anyways) disassociated and silent for hours on end, unmoving as he just lays there; awake and still having occasional trembles and body jerks of lingering pain.

⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ Discomfort and frustration draw the owl's features into something unsightly. Stolas closes his eyes with an agitated click of beak. He understand the video is meant to seize his attention and infuriate him. . . to which it DOES. But it also instills a sense of dread, of fear, of unease. The owl turns away, an abrupt sound rising in his throat as a hand rises to cover his face. He felt as though he might be sick. It was a cruel, vile, and horrid thing to witness.

I must be following the right people, because I have no idea what you’re talking about on that m27 tag post. What is that about the atomic bomb???
Usual nonsense of radiation addling people's brains :) About as cruel and inhumane as you might expect. About the depth of compassion and understanding I expect from social media, though, especially the fandom side. Probably some idiot drive by being edgy for attention.

So--long story short, a FedEx driver killed a rattlesnake that happened to be on someone's porch, not causing any immediate problems. This is an all too common practice here in the United States, where a significant portion of the population has the backwards idea that "the only good snake is a dead snake" and that the only way to deal with a venomous snake in the proximity of a house, or people in general, is to kill it. Never mind that snakes tend to move on if left alone, and that there are numerous entities that can be contacted to move the snake safely to another place if so desired, and that most bites occur when someone is harassing, handling, or trying to kill the snake.
Dr. Emily Taylor of California Polytechnic State University (@snakeymama on Twitter) has requested that people contact FedEx about their recent commercial glorifying the killing of the snake, which you can view here. I've included both her and my letters to the appropriate folks at FedEx. There are options for both email and snail mail correspondence, and the more people FedEx hears from about this appalling matter, the better.
It's 2024, almost 2025. We have tons of information on rattlesnake behavior and best practices in coexisting with them (to include training your dogs in snake avoidance). We know plenty about the importance they have in local ecosystems, and the devastation that has been done through people slaughtering them, sometimes in the thousands (I wrote about the ongoing problem of rattlesnake roundups and their inherent cruelty here.) There are multiple rattlesnake species that are endangered or otherwise threatened with extinction.
The vast majority of encounters with venomous snakes are benign, and the vast majority of bites come from someone (person, dog, etc.) confronting the snake that was just trying to defend itself. We've spent a lot of time in this country defaulting to killing anything that inconveniences us, but there are better ways to live safely in proximity to wildlife that don't involve violence. It just takes a little more effort and awareness, and most importantly a significant attitude change that no longer vilifies native wildlife simply trying to live their lives.
As Dr. Taylor mentioned, if you want to contact FedEx, here are your options:
"You can help by reposting this or by emailing to express your concern about the commercial: [email protected] and to the CEO at [email protected]. Or send letters to: Fred Smith, CEO Brie Carere, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Ryan Kelly, Vice President of Marketing FedEx Corporation 942 South Shady Grove Road Memphis, TN 38120 USA"

Oooft just seen that video of the scumbag influencer picking up a baby wombat and running away with from its mother.
Not to be overdramatic but I think if you do something like this, you don’t deserve to live.
As a heads up, the news story above contains the video.

Okay, I know people as a general rule tend to not care about invertebrates as much as cute, fuzzy mammals, but this is a must-read if you care about animal welfare. The short version is that horseshoe crab blood has been used for decades in medicine as a way to test whether something is truly sterile; the blood clots in the presence of bacteria. Since then millions of horseshoe crabs have been captured and drained of blood, even though a synthetic alternative was developed a few years ago.
They go through a pretty brutal experience in the process. They're caught by fishermen who often throw them by their tails into a pile in the open air, and they're then trucked to a bleeding facility where they're strapped down and their blood is removed with needles jabbed directly into their hearts. Over half their blood may be taken, after which they're supposed to be returned to the ocean. However, it's likely many of them never make it back, instead turned into fish bait and sold by the same fishermen who caught them in the first place.
Apart from the fact that this is a horrific thing to put any animal through, the attrition due to fatalities has put a serious dent in horseshoe crab numbers. This is compounded by massive habitat loss, pollution, and the capture of horseshoe crabs as food, particularly as the females of one species are considered a delicacy. And other animals that rely on horseshoe crabs are suffering, too. The American rufa subspecies of the red knot, a medium-sized shorebird, is critically endangered as the horseshoe crab eggs it must have in order to successfully complete migration have become increasingly scarce, and it is likely the bird will become extinct if trends continue.
While there are guidelines for medical horseshoe crab harvest, they're considered optional. The few laws that exist are poorly enforced. Short of a complete ban on horseshoe crab blood in favor of the synthetic alternative, these animals are in very real danger of going extinct after a history spanning over 400 million years on this planet.
Thankfully, this article is not the first to bring forth the issues surrounding horseshoe crab harvest. Here are a few resources for further information and action (US based, though horseshoe crabs are threatened throughout their entire range):

⚠️ Hey ⚠️
If you’re planning on going to the new Guardians of the Galaxy, please be aware that a MASSIVE portion of the film, easily half, is a depiction of pretty brutal animal testing, body horror, and animal mutilation. It’s a huge theme of the film, and it’s not pulling punches.
The first two films were fairly kid friendly, but this one is very out of genre of any Marvel film, and I would recommend double checking before bringing young children.

AITA for banning a child from my house?
It's not my child, btw- it's my cousin, an 8 y/o autistic boy. I am 15 and it's technically not my house.
For context, my cousin has EXTREMELY severe autism, to the point where he quite literally cannot form any connections with people and does not sit down at all. He is always running around, yelling in garbled speech, and doesn't understand words, sentences, or commands. He only responds to his name when his mother calls it. He isn't intelligent mentally, either. I do love him a lot in spite of how he has never paid attention to me or treats both me and everyone else around him as though they don't exist.
I have (had?) a cat. I have raised this cat for 3 years and I got this little furball when he was only 2 weeks old. I gave him milk and cared for him so, so much. He was a Persian-British mix and was, frankly, pretty dumb and sleepy all the time. Like a little doll.
My cousin also, apparently, decided that my cat, Velvet, was doll-like, because he grabbed Velvet and refused to let the cat go. I was in the bathroom at the time and only heard the cat's mewing. Nobody else was home. My cousin thought it would be nice to throw Velvet out of the window. Our 4th-story window. Velvet was a spoilt little thing and had never really lived outside of a house, and consequently, died. My cousin? Didn't care. Just went away from the open window and went back to running around the house.
I came out only a few seconds later and was very confused as to just WHERE was the previously mewing cat, and obviously I couldn't just ask my cousin, since he can't talk and wouldn't be able to think of it either. My mom found the fucking CORPSE when she came back home. I was horrified and, while I don't think this was the proper thing to do to a little boy who has absolutely ZERO awareness of his surroundings, I proceeded to absolutely scream my head off at my cousin while grabbing his arm, which resulted in an absolute meltdown from him and my aunt (who had also just arrived) having to physically pry me off him as I was crying. I don't think I can be really blamed for being upset over my cousin KILLING my BELOVED PET just because he was born wrong. I also sort of yelled at my aunt to never come here or bring her son here ever again. My mother has severely chastised me for that and had ME grounded. What the fuck. Mental illnesses aren't all sunshine and rainbows, y'all. Ugh. I feel like I AM the asshole, but honestly. Consider the circumstances. I hate it here and I miss my fucking cat.

Here's a deliberately controversial, conversation-starting take on the vegan discourse for you.
Instead of moving human society over to a meat-free model, or mass-industrializing vat growth mean, it could potentially be easier, and certainly more space efficient, to instead genetically modify livestock to be functionally brain dead. You would keep them in racks and tube feed them, a similar arrangement to the factory farm.
I'm sure that there's a neural development gene you could knock out that would leave a given animal unable to have any sort of conscious experience or pain, even in the most abstract sense, leaving you with something that is morally akin to vat meat in the shape of a cow. You could test it in utero with animal foetuses that don't grow to term to avoid ethical concerns in the form of live mutants before the edit is perfected.
Keep a few "pet" populations of each breed to keep the species alive and for more genetic work in the future. That should be just as good as avoiding meat for any vegan, although I would bet my life savings that you'd be hard pressed to find a random vegan who would be anything but horrified by the idea.
