Marlon analysis + adult headcanons

It's Marlon analysis that wasn't supposed to be an analysis baby

I think we all noticed that Marlon doesn't really have an inner conflict in the series. Moreover, he's usually the one who helps to solve these conflicts or supports other characters.

S1E3 - he's coming up with the concept for their logo, an image of their team. S2E6 - finds a guy to replace Vanessa for the game, and is just being a nice guy that can befriend an enemy (honestly this episode feels more about Kong or even Vanessa rather than Marlon). S2E11 - pretty much the only episode we see some sort of inner conflict in him, but it concerned the whole team, and again Marlon saves the day.

We don't see him angry that much either, older Wessel is trying hard to be the voice of reason. He's always the backbone, which kinda makes me wonder - does he suppress his emotions?

I've already talked about it a few times before, but I'm gonna mention it again for the full picture, but if you wanna read more you can go to this post. Wessels grew up without mother (at least we don't get a peek or even mentioning of her) so he, as an older brother, he most likely had to take care of Leon, growing up faster as a result. Marlon is just used to the role of protector, the backbone.

I saw people saying Marlon has a saviour complex, but I don't really agree with that. He does have some tendencies, but doesn't go full on white knight mode. You see, Marlon's help is not intrusive, he doesn't see his solution as the only right one and he doesn't seem to feel too much guilt when something doesn't work or at least it wasn't shown. He's just being a nice, reasonable guy most of the time.

What he does seem to have problems with is setting boundaries, especially with Leon. This was shown in s1e8 when Leon pushes Marlon to the ground. Sure, Marlon was shocked and didn't react properly in the moment, but they don't talk that through later either. And we rarely see him angry, even when he has a right to be.

He also might struggle with talking through his feelings. I don't have any proof of that from the show, but the fact that none of his episodes are actually about him is pretty concerning.

Gotta say that Marlon's moral compass is pretty clear. He wants justice (Kong in s2e6 and Leon in s2e12), he's forgiving (again Kong in s2e6 and Leon in s1e8) and supportive (basically every episode except for s1e4).

Honestly, there's nothing else I can say about Marlon as the show doesn't give any information about him. It's more interesting to talk about the possible outcomes of his behavior, which is exactly what I'm going to do further.

First of all, he would have to find his self worth. He's always been there for others, and not only for his little brother, but also for his friends. However, Leon grows older, he learns how to deal with his shit (I hope) and no longer requires a backbone in the face of his brother. Other friends don't need him that much either, they can help themselves. So, that leaves Marlon with nothing to work with. And that's the moment I think he might develop a saviour complex, because he wants to feel needed or helpful at least.

As I've mentioned before, he's most likely suppressing his emotions, which will obviously have an impact later. There could be different outcomes, from anger management issues to self harm. Or both. Whatever suits you more. I, personally, find the idea of Marlon lashing out on his friends when they break the boundaries unintentionally, but later blaming himself for that pretty appealing.

What else he can develop is depression and/or anxiety. That, again, steams from identity issues and troubles of finding his place. Moreover, that could slightly fuck up his relationships with others, cuz he would gradually drive himself away from others. And, since Marlon hadn't learnt or never felt the need of learning how to express his own emotions, his friends wouldn't be able to help him. Thus, he'd have to find a way to help himself.

And, in my opinion, the thing that would help Marlon would be art. We've seen him being creative when designing a logo for dwk, so maybe painting or creating a music would be a way of expressing himself, putting those emotions on the canvas and finally finding his own "I".

Yeah that's all I wanted to say about Marlon. It was supposed to be a sleepy rant on his adult version, but it turned into this lol.

I lost power for most to the day today, so I sat at a coffee shop and just killed time writing down headcanons for every SP character I could think of.

Pairing: Wooyoung x Hongjoong - platonic intentions, but open interpretation.

Inspiration: Bouncy Era Wooyoung. (Using content from the MV filming with creative liberty).

“Cut!” The director calls out and all eight members drop their characters, trying to regain their breath after filming the group dance scene. “That’s a wrap for this location. San-ssi and Wooyoung-ssi, you’re off to the next location to film your scenes. Everyone else, filming resumes tomorrow.” Crew members hustle around the set to collect the equipment. Meanwhile, the members all walk back to wardrobe to get back into their street clothes. 

Wooyoung and San are quickly ushered away by the managers toward the van waiting to take them to the next location. Hongjoong tags along as well. If anyone asks, he just wants to monitor their progress. But the two 99z know Hongjoong’s going to keep an eye on them. And they can’t blame him for it. Not since their last solo shoot. 

“Can we get food on the way?” Wooyoung asks whoever is listening. “I’m starving.” He emphasizes, rubbing a hand over his stomach with a defined pout. 

“Wooyoung-ah, you still have to film. You don’t wanna dance on a full stomach.” Hongjoong reminds, “You’ll make yourself sick.” 

“Just a little something? Please,” the youngest pleads, “It’s mostly acting in the next scene. I don’t really dance. And my outfit’s loose too.” 

Hongjoong reviews the plans for San and Wooyoung’s solo shoot, reading over the notes. And Wooyoung’s right. There isn’t any choreo to film. So he doesn’t see why Wooyoung couldn’t eat something before the shoot. He sighs, “I guess there’s no reason you can’t get a snack.” 

Wooyoung’s pout morphs into a wide smile. “You’re the best, hyung!” He hugs the leader, much to his displeasure. 

Wooyoung chooses tteokbokki as his snack, despite Hongjoong warning him that something spicy might not be the best idea. The youngest 99 disregards the warning, reminding the leader that he loves spicy food. And he can totally handle it. Hongjoong’s skeptical, but the satisfaction on the younger’s face as he slurps up each rice cake eases him. 

“Spicy,” Wooyoung exhales slowly as he swallows the last bite. 

“Cheon-yang gochu vibe” San sings in response. Even Hongjoong has to laugh at the remark. 

When they arrive at the set, the three members separate. Wooyoung is set to shoot first, so he rushes off to wardobe. San’s directed to make-up to start applying his fake injuries. And Hongjoong reviews the set to make sure everything’s in order. He chats with the director and other crew members while he waits for Wooyoung to join them. 

Wooyoung’s not a man of many regrets. He trusts his decisions and makes choices passionately, even if they aren’t always the best choices. He sees no point in reflecting on the past or thinking in hindsight. And he always looks for the bright side of every situation and doesn’t try to assign blame. 

But this time. This time he thinks he’s made a mistake. His stomach gurgles while he’s getting his hair done. He knows something is wrong, and he hasn’t even moved around too much. Even though he’s not dancing on the set, he’s still moving around. And the remnants of his tteokbokki snack will be sloshing around with him. He finds himself wishing he hadn’t chosen such a spicy dish for his snack. 

They’re on a tight filming schedule. So he’s going to have to push through the discomfort and get in character. A few deep breaths and he’s ready to head out to the set. Wooyoung immerses himself in the character in order to suppress his angered stomach. 

The first few takes go on without a hitch. He has to suppress a few sour burps here and there, stifle hiccups every now and then. But there's not much movement. He just needs to sit in the van and let his expressions do all the work. 

He stands close to Hongjoong as they walk toward the boxing set. He contemplates telling his leader about his upset stomach, but he fears the barrage of 'I told you so's and 'I tried to warn you's that he's sure the leader would unleash upon him. So he fidgets with the hem of his button down and listens to Hongjoong's voice as they walk. 

Hongjoong is actually praising him. Or rather, praising his character, as they walk on. "This concept really fits you, Young-ah. The long hair really compliments your visuals." The leader plays with the ponytail, "I think Atiny will really like it." 

Typically, Wooyoung would bask in his leader's praises, even if it's just complimenting his consistent visual role in the group. He would usually bat his long lashes to get more attention. Or tease Hongjoong for showing any kind of affection. But he can't even force a smile. It's taking all of his effort to swallow the growing nausea and keep it at bay. 

The rapper also notices that Wooyoung's not responding to the compliments in his typical fashion. He had suspected that something was wrong during the van filming. He'd caught the younger member grimacing between takes with a fearful look in his eyes. He figured it was just nerves. So he's trying to boost the younger's confidence. It doesn't seem to be working. "Wooyoung, are you okay"? Before he even gives the other member time to answer, he continues, "You know to tell me if somethings wrong." 

A few seconds of silence pass between them and Wooyoung fidgets more. Hongjoong has to stop him before he rips a button of the shirt pulling at the hem like that. "Hyung, I-" he's about to confess when the director calls him to the set. His whole demeanor changes. "I'll tell you later." And he scurries to find the director. Hongjoong sighs as he goes to stand by the monitors. He ensures to keep an eye on Wooyoung and pull the plug if anything seems out of sorts. 

Wooyoung doesn't have any specific role here. He's just supposed to move around the boxing ring. They'll cut the best clips for the video later. It's both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, he doesn't have to move too much. But on the other, it leaves too much time for self-awareness. 

"Can't you give it more passion, Wooyoung-ssi. You're lacking energy." The director scolds. Wooyoung's movements aren't exactly aligning to the beat of the song. Wooyoung is obedient, so he starts jumping around the ring, all smiles and sexy expressions as if his stomach isn't tumbling inside of him. 

"Much better! Keep it up," The director praises. After who knows how long, the director calls a cut. "Okay, how about some shots jumping on the ropes?" The camera crew rearranges to shoot the far corner and Wooyoung gets into position. He turns his back to the camera and rubs his stomach, pleading that it holds out until after the filming. 

He does what he's asked to do. If he were feeling better, he might actually enjoy swinging and jumping around the ropes. But his stomach has had enough of it. The burps are coming more frequently, and they're getting harder to stifle. And each one brings back the spicy flavor of the tteokbokki that he's trying to forget. 

While he plays on the ropes, he feels his hair tie loosen, and with the next throw of his head, the strands fall around his face. The director quickly cuts the cameras and calls for the hair crew on set. 

Wooyoung jumps off the stand and runs off set. Hongjoong assumes at first he's rushing to the monitor to review, but the younger member sprints past the monitor area and past the crew. The leader watches as the long strands of hair bounce as he exits the stage. Before the director can yell at him for unprofessionalism, he apologizes and assures to bring the other back quickly. 

Hongjoong chases after Wooyoung, not with anger but with worry. He follows the patterned button down shirt all the way to the bathroom. "Wooyoung-ah!" He shouts to get the younger’s attention. 

Wooyoung can't turn around, too fixated on making it to the toilet in time. He hovers over the nearest sink with his lips pressed tightly together. As he stares down at the drain, he watches his long strands of hair dangle around what would inevitably be the splash zone. He tries lowering his head, but his hair just ends up sitting in the sink. And that's objectively worse. 

A long belch nearly tears his lips open, filling his mouth with foul tasting sick. But he manages to hold it back with a muffled whimper. He clenched his eyes shut and shakes his head, frustrated with the whole situation. He vows he'll never eat tteokbokki again after this fiasco. 

It's the calming voice of his leader that soothes his nerves. Long, gentle fingers scrape against his hairline, pulling the long strands of hair back. Hongjoong tightly grips the strands to keep them out of Wooyoung's face. 

"I've got your hair. It's okay." He coaxes the younger, placing his free hand over one of Wooyoung's against the edge of the sink. "You can let it out." 

It's embarrassing vomiting like this in front of their leader. But Hongjoong is the only person he feels like he needs right now. He parts his lips just enough to let the sick he had stored in his cheeks fall into the drain. Undigested chunks of tteokbokki fill the sink, too large to fit down the grate. The sight and the smell force another wave before he even has time to breathe. 

While Wooyoung catches his breath, Hongjoong guides the vocalist into a stall. He's easy to maneuver, relinquishing all control to the captain. The rapper situates him in front of the toilet and readjusts his grip on Wooyoung's ponytail. When Wooyoung doesn't immediately puke again, Hongjoong speaks, "Do you think you're done?" 

Wooyoung shrugs his shoulders. He certainly hopes so, but there's still a sour feeling in his stomach. 

"Do you think you can finish the filming?" He asks. He releases Wooyoung's hair, tucking the strands behind each of Wooyoung's ears just so they're out of the way. He makes a mental note to redo Wooyoung's ponytail once they're out of the bathroom. 

Wooyoung knows he doesn't really have a choice in the matter. "Can Sannie film now? I'll finish, I just need a few minutes." 

Hongjoong nodded, "I'll talk to the director. I'll let him know you're not feeling well, and see if they can film San's scenes now while you rest." 

"Thank you hyungie." Wooyoung cuddles against the elder. Hongjoong doesn't shy away despite his distaste for skinship or the putrid odor clinging to the vocalists lips. 

Once Wooyoung's stomach feels settled, he and Hongjoong make the journey back to the greenroom. "You know, this wouldn't have happened if-" 

Wooyoung cuts the leader off, "Hyung, no!" He whines, drawing out the last syllable. "Please no 'I told you so's. I don't feel good. I can't sit through a lecture right now." 

Hongjoong chuckles at the whiny member clinging to him as they shuffle through the studio. "Alright, I'll save it for later," He pets the younger's hair as they walk, thinking to himself about how much he likes the long strands. "kind of like you should have done with the tteokbokki." 

Wooyoung's stomach gurgles at that and a small burp jolts his body, like the mere mention of the food is enough to make him sick, "Hyung~~~." 

"Okay, okay." Hongjoong soothes, "You just rest, Young-ah. Hyung will take care of everything."

A/N: I had tried listening to Bouncy on repeat while writing this, but eventually had to stop because I kept getting distracted by the chorus choreo. I had to stop. If this song isn't my Spotify #1 song, I will be legitimately surprised. I listen to Bouncy at least 5 times a day. I also watched the music video a ton and took notes from the MV Filming to include in this request. To say I'm obsessed with Bouncy era would be an understatement. So thank you for the request!

It took Alex only a few steps until someone forcefully grabbed her, pushed her into a darklit alley while covering her mouth to make sure she scream for help. No matter how much she tried to break free, the person lingering in the shadow was just stronger. More people joined to capture Alex until she ended up beeing pressed against a brickwall.

"Shhh, quiet. It's us, Alex.", a familiar voice whispered and removed her gloved hand from her mouth.

Adjusting her eyes for a few seconds, she recognized four familiar faces. Katherine, Cal, Vera and... Nik??!!! Wait, how can this be? She just saw how Nik left her and now he's standing in front of her, hiding in the shadows. Leaning against the brick wall, the blond disappointedly glared at her, flaring his nostrils. Recognizing the clothes he wore like his black trousers, black boots and the typical leather jacket above his plain, black shirt... His nighthunter clothes. And he carried his crossbow with him. It made her realize the man standing in front of her...

"Nik??! Is that you?", she asked and got emotional, unable to hold back her tears while he just silently stared at her. Clenching his jaws together, he disappointedly looked on the ground, not wanting to meet her eyes. The anger turned into a sad expression on his face.

Vera, Cal and Katherine awkwardly looked at them and freed Alex from their hold.

"Sorry for doing this, sweety. But we didn't want to attract any attention. Girl, I missed you sooo much. Glad to be finally united with you too. You missed me?", Katherine added and hugged her while she strongly hugged back. Both held their hug for almost a minute before breaking apart.

"Now that Nik and Katherine are back from the war, and we found Alex, it's time to return to our world now."

Listening to Vera her words, Alex wondered. "Vera, what do mean with our world? And why did you ran away from me before?"

"Alex, I didn't. We just arrived."

"Yeah, we were all kicking our butts to find you. To hope that you're safe and then... then... The first thing seeing is that my girl smooching and making out with a stranger. After being away for so long, I got to see this??!", he sniffed and wiped his tears away.

"Nik... You're back? It's really you, right? Why are you sad? You're back from the war. Oh, I missed you so...", she was about to embrace for a hug the closer she got, but he lightly pushed her away from him.

"Rook, I missed you every damn second. For you, I was fighting to survive. For the first time in my damn life I was scared to die cuz if I die, I do not want to imagine what would've happened to you. You're everything I have, Alex. But seeing you today like this..."

"Nik, it's not what you think it is. Didn't you see that man? His face? He looked exactly like you? I believed it was you. I can't think of anything more than you. Please Nik, I would never cheat on you. I was blinded by grief and sadness. I... I love you so much.", she begged for forgiveness, wanting to unite with him again. To touch him, to kiss him, to have him by her side. But Nik felt heartbroken and just sadly stared at her.

"Nik, please forgive Alex. While you were gone, she didn't even properly eat anything and was sleeping less. All she was doing is thinking about you and Katherine.", Vera tried to convince while Katherine placed a hand on her shoulder for support. Nik stayed quiet for a moment until he finally spoke. His balled his hands into fists and his voice filled with anger.

"First, lemme find that dude, so that I can tell him to stay away from my girl. Let's see if he really looks like me.", he spoke with distrust and immediately dashed towards the streets of the city to find his so-called look-alike. He was surprisingly quicker than the others thought and tried to catch up on him. When Nik is angry, then he is angry and nobody wants to face him like this.

He finally stopped a few blocks away near a building and recognized the man they were searching for from the professional clothes he was wearing. Again, his back was turned towards Nik. To face him, Nik was about near him when an unpleasant voice ordered him to stand still.

"I order you to take your steps back, before you ruin the balance between all dimensions, Thriced Cursed Son."

Yes, it was no other than the holy Lady Fate standing with all might. Her golden eyes fixed on Nik and the rest of the gang which finally caught up and stood next to the nighthunter.

"Fate, what are you doing here?", Alex innocently asked.

"Daughter of Two Realms, you and your allies must return back to your own dimension before sunrise. If you will not, you will be forever held captured in this world which isn't yours.", she spoke with anger and yet politeness.

"Sure, after I teach that guy a lesson for stealing my girlfriend. Besides, lemme see if he really looks like me or is just a nasty shapeshifter who was tryin' to harm Alex."

"Does revenge matter more than safety? I will forbid you to make any contacts in this world unless you stay hidden because this dimension was constructed by the last wish of the Daughter of the Two Realms herself. She needed answers, so she shall receive them here. In this dimension things are different."

"Wait, what last wish of mine? I didn't. I actually don't know what's going on."

"Try to remember Alex, we tried to find you everywhere. You weren't home. You were gone until we crossed Luc who said you were in his shop and then you disappeared. He leads us back to his shops to find clues and luckily, he figured out that the large mirror was lightly glowing. He traced an opened portal which led us four here to find you. But... but we weren't sure where we were until the Fate appeared and told us this. And I'm even more glad that we found you Alex.", Cal explained.

"I would only wish for Nik and Katherine to return from war safely back home. Oh... Wait, I remember... When I touched the mirror, I was desperate in thoughts about Nik and... and... and wished he would have never become a nighthunter."

When the words left your mouth, it shocked everyone expect of the all-knowing Fate.

"Why would you wish that, rook?"

"Because if you hadn't become a nighthunter, you wouldn't have been involved in the war and kept yourself away from me. I'm sorry, I was desperate. I wasn't thinking clearly. But now I understand why the other Nik from before was different. He wasn't aware of the existence of the supernatural world. Even Elijah didn't recognize him?"

"What??!!! You met my father, rook???! How? Where? I need to see him!!"

"He wouldn't recognize you, Nik."

"The hell, of course he will. He has to. He's my dad, Alex.", he got emotional and begged her to show him.

"Calm down, Ryder. Alex is right. This dimension we are in is different. He might not recognize..."

[Satan can do a bit of everything his brothers can do element-wise . For example: He can make rocks out of thin air or shoot offensive elemental spells.

However since fire in mostly inclined to very strong emotions and destruction, fire magic is his strong suit.]

Reason: In real life, Satan is the universal name to refer a demon so I think it's nice to have him the same power as the rest of his brothers. Imagine that his elemental magic is a basic version of what his brothers can do. This is also a reference that he is created from Lucifer so that means he's just like Lucifer.

2. Elemental Powers/ Natural Calamity (Level 3)

[This is just the stronger version of the first ability with the condition that he's mad. Satan can manipulate the elements found in Earth or can conjure natural calamities if given that he is very mad. For example: He can make thunderstorms, tornadoes, Floods, etc.]

Reason: He is the Avatar of Wrath so of course, natural disasters is his motif. Causing Natural disasters is one way to express his madness.

3. A Master of Curses (but mostly cat-related curses) (Level 2)

[He is an expert of curses. He knows a lot of incantations and curses such as changing physical appearance or make you do stuff. It's self-explanatory that most of his curses are cat-based anyway cuz he likes cats]

Reason: He always read grimoires and magic books in the canon game.

4. Telekinesis (Based in Obey me wiki) (Level 2)

6. Possession (Lv. 1)

[Just like any other demon, he has the ability to possess a human or animal and control them against their will. Demons can go in and out whenever.]

[Limitation: The human or mortal must have no magic affinity and must not be blessed by angels or in a holy sacred land connected to heaven/ celestial realm.

If the human have magic affinity, this will serve as protection.

A human with magical that has made a pact with a demon have the option to be possessed since this is also a way to borrow magic or strength.]

Reason: It is a reference to real life exorcism and demonic possession. Reason/Limitation why MC cannot be possessed.

Summary: 

This is set in a historical setting where men can marry other men, but it’s usually reserved for sons who were not borne by the official main first wife of the patriarch of the family, i.e. a son born by a concubine in a family may be forced to marry a man to keep him from being able to become the next family’s patriarch for example. This is because any family’s next leader needs to be able to have children with a wife who married in as a zheng shi (lawful wife), and not a ce shi (second wife) or any other concubines/mistresses etc. Most of these men who marry other men have to take them as their zheng shi and lawful spouse in a sense, and the same goes for the royal family.

The story starts with third prince Jing Shao, who was forced to marry Mu Han Zhang, a Marquis’ second son, by the Empress and Emperor, thereby officially and effectively cutting him out of the race for the throne. He’s mocked by the public as everyone knows what this means, and for the next 10 years, he neglects Mu Han Zhang, blaming him for his predicament, and deliberately showers his three other concubines with affection in front of him, but 10 years later, when Jing Shao is accused of treason, everyone leaves him except for Mu Han Zhang. They are chased to the edge of the cliff by soldiers, and Mu Han Zhang dies in his arms having taken an arrow meant for him earlier, and Jing Shao jumps off the cliff with his dead body, and promises that if there’s a next life, he will do everything Han Zhang says, and love him.

He wakes up immediately on the night of his marriage with Han Zhang, and realizes that he’s been given a second chance to make everything right. Han Zhang is definitely afraid of him, humiliated and angry when he first wakes up after how rough Jing Shao was with him earlier on their wedding night, and he has no memories of their past life. Jing Shao then sets to SHOWER HAN ZHANG with affection, love and basically everything, because he realized that this is the only person who stayed by his side until the end, and then he falls in love with Han Zhang properly this time, and also deals with every single person who maligned and schemed against him in his previous life, with Han Zhang by his side.

Characters:

1. 景韶 Jing Shao - 3rd Prince and is the first out of his three other brothers to be given a title 成王 (cheng wang). He’s referred to as 王爷, and also 小勺 (xiao shao) by Han Zhang. Went out on his first war when he was 14, and was thus given a title before any of his brothers. He’s known for being a merciless, cold and fierce army general/commander, but this was before his second life with Han Zhang, where he puts on like his doting mode and is basically a dumbass XD who listens to Han Zhang with a lot of trust, which is cool and all.

He marries Han Zhang when he’s 19, and in his first life he was very reluctant and resistant, and neglected Han Zhang for 10 years, until he was charged with treason and hunted down. 

In his first life he wanted to snatch the throne, even from his blood-related brother Jing Chen, but more out of spite than anything else because he felt he was dealt an unfair hand by having to marry Han Zhang. Not only that, but Jing Shao is not his father’s favourite son, and he always felt that the emperor was biased against him. Anyway, a huge accumulation of daddy and anger issues, which is fair.

When he realizes that Han Zhang died for him, he decides he will be good to Han Zhang if they are reborn in their next life.

2. 慕含章 Mu Han Zhang - The 2nd son of Marquis Bei Hou’s, born to a concubine. He’s called by his 表字 which is 君清 (jun qing) by Jing Shao. Official First Wife Bei Wei Hou-furen and her son (who is in line to inherit the Marquis title from his father) has bullied him all his life, and wanted to push him into greater desperation by marrying him to Jing Shao, knowing he will suffer at the hands of the supposed merciless/heartless wangye. He has a weak body because of an accident when he was younger, and in his first life he was really sick after being neglected for 10 years, and knowing this in their second life, Jing Shao does everything he can to take care of him.

He is incredibly smart, has a brain for business and sales, and is also very good at handling people, especially scheming ones. He aids Jing Shao in the beginning of their second life, and then Jing Chen later as well, as both brothers begin to fight to put Jing Chen on the throne, against the 1st and 4th Princes. Is an incredibly good tactician in war as well.

3. 景琛 Jing Chen - 2nd Prince, Jing Shao’s blood related older brother who is handsome af too. His title, given later in the novel, is 睿王 (rui wang). He was misunderstood by Jing Shao in the first life as Jing Shao thought it was his brother who led to him marrying Han Zhang, and because he’s not very good at expressing himself and shows his concern to Jing Shao by nagging at him, Jing Shao always thought he hated him. In their second life, Jing Shao already knows that Jing Chen loves him and did a lot for him in his first life, and so trusts his brother and supports him right off the bat, because Jing Chen is indeed the most suited person for the throne.

He has a wife and a concubine, 3 sons and 2 daughters at this point. He ends up helping Jing Shao a lot, and when he realizes that Han Zhang is way more adept at politics and the whole scheming thing than Jing Shao is, he begins trusting Han Zhang a lot more as well! There’s a surprise with Jing Chen hahaha which I loveee and could see, but wasn’t sure until they confirmed it in the last few chapters AHAHAHAHA.

Other Notable Characters:

1. Song Ling Xin (Second Wife) on the left, and two other concubines on the right

They’re pretty much vying for Jing Shao’s attention, but at this point apparently he hasn’t slept with any of them before. Song Ling Xin is the daughter of the Military Department’s Head Song An, and Jing Shao married her initially out of interest. The right most concubine (I forgot her name oops) was a gift given to him by his oldest brother, the 1st Prince. The two of them played a huge role in Jing Shao’s downfall back in his first life, and so in his second life, he especially detests Song Ling Xin. Plus the three of them keep bullying Han Zhang in the beginning, but thankfully Jing Shao is like: “Anything my Jun Qing wants”. They don’t stay around for long either, watch as Jing Shao gets rid of them like he’s swatting flies.

2. Xiao Yuan & Zhou Da-Ge

This is another male couple who’s been married for 7-8 years if I recall. Xiao Yuan is one of Jing Shao’s important allies and friends in the second life, because in Jing Shao’s first life, this was one of the only young officials in court who spoke up for him when the accusations of treason came about. Zhou Da-Ge is his husband, who is a cook running a restaurant in the city. Whenever Zhou Da-Ge bullies Xiao Yuan in bed a little too much, Xiao Yuan punishes him by making him wear colourful clothes out (pink, bright yellow, purple, etc.) and thus he has a reputation for being eccentric and a weirdo, but oh well, all for love.

3. Gu Huai Qing

One of Jing Shao and Jing Chen’s most powerful allies, and he becomes blood-sworn brothers with Jing Shao without realizing who he is. Later he takes a liking to Jing Chen.

Jing Shao is like, he does a 180 entirely and he is very cognisant of all his faults and what he did wrong previously, and how badly he treated Han Zhang, so he legit forces his brain to go “I will listen to Jun Qing from now on” and he really sticks to it!

Loves kissing and teasing Han Zhang, but doesn’t force him into bed after their wedding night, and instead goes to Xiao Yuan and asks for tips on how to make his partner feel less scared about sex

The both of them end up with a pet tiger?!! That’s called Xiao Huang (little yellow) LMAO

They nap together a lot which I love <3333

Jing Shao knows he’s bullied at home, so when they go back to the Marquis Bei Hou manor, he holds Han Zhang’s hand in front of everyone to let them know Han Zhang has someone to back him up

Brings Han Zhang to war because he “cannot concentrate if Jun Qing isn’t with me at all times” - and asks for special permission to do so

Han Zhang notes that since he married Jing Shao, as the ‘wife’ he is supposed to serve Jing Shao, but it’s always Jing Shao serving him - Getting water for him, bringing him to baths, putting clothes on for him, putting food in his plate if it tastes nice, massaging his back and waist etc. - and best is he doesn’t have to deal with any in-laws?!! HAHAHA

Jing Shao gets revenge on those who hurt Han Zhang when he was younger for him, and the outcome is pretty hilarious but well-deserved

with that, you placed a kiss on his lips, which tasted slightly salty from his now dry tears. it was with pleasure that you felt a smile stretch against your lips. his arms came around you in a long, loving hug.

you had finished work earlier so you decided to surprise your fiancé by making his favourite dish.

you hadn't seen him this morning before you left for work, which surprised you a little because he always took the time to come and say hello or give you a kiss.

and now that you think about it, it's true that he hadn't texted you all day, which he usually did too. whether it was to complain about how he embarrassed himself in front of everyoneor just to slip a sweet i love you into your notifications.

had you pissed him off ? you shook your head at yourself, you don't remember if you did. you were probably imagining things.

a few minutes later, you heard the door slam and your boyfriend drop his stuff in front of the entrance. you expected him to come up behind you to give you a long, warm kiss. well, he didn't and probably won't because you heard him lock himself in your room.

you raised an eyebrow. something was wrong.

with a quick step, and slightly apprehensive, you joined him, and came upon a tamaki curled up in a ball in your bed.

you sat down next to him, putting your hand gently on his shoulder.

« tell me what's wrong. »

« i don't know what you're talking about. »

you flinch slightly at the tone of his voice. hard and cold it was. which was a big change from his usually soft and warm voice.

the high school amajiki had grown up, matured. you were able to be by his side as he evolved, he was now a confident and strong man. although old habits die hard

« huh ? did i do something ? »

he finally met your gaze, and it didn't match his tone. full of melancholy, his eyes were bright. he had been crying.

your expression, which at first was slightly annoyed, became more and more panicked. your hands automatically came to meet his, but they refused to meet them.

« tell me what the fuck is wrong ! »

« i - i don't know if it's a good idea for us to get married. »

you swallowed hard. the words stuck in your throat, you didn't understand what had just happened.

« w-why ? » you asked silently.

« i'm not good enough for you, you deserve better. let's stop kidding ourselves. »

an unpleasant heat came over your face, it was anger rising.

how could he know that you deserved better ? didn't your unconditional love for him count for anything ?

it wasn't like him. he had a tendency to doubt himself sometimes, but he had never doubted your love for each other.

« isaw that you had cheated on me. in a dream, of course. you seemed happy with this man. he was everything i wasn't. perfect. i don't want you to waste your time with me, i don't want you to make the mistake of your life by getting engaged to me... i'm just a waste of time, well i've always been anyway. you must think i'm exaggerating and being ridiculous... i probably am... »

he lowered his head as he spoke, now refusing to look you in the eye. it was as if he were eighteen again, the shy and anxious teenager who refused to make eye contact with anyone when he was embarrassed.

a slight gasp escaped your lips.

your hands finally met his, you smiled softly when he didn't try to pull away. you let the silence settle comfortably between you, letting the gestures express your thoughts.

your soft gestures that had already comforted him many times in the hardest moments as well as in the most joyful ones. the same ones that had always succeeded in making him feel loved and safe in your fusional relationship.

he relaxed little by little in your arms, letting all his doubts fly away with this tension that paralyzed his muscles.

you finally spoke up when you were in a fairly comfortable position, both in each other's arms.

« amajiki, baby. i could never be this happy with anyone else. and i mean it. you're the one i grew up with, loved, cried with, laughed with. how can you say you're a waste of time? sweetie, even if we broke up, i'd be happy to tell everyone i loved a great man like you. but i know that's never going to happen, because i'm ready to say yes to you when the time comes. »

his grip around your waist tightened slightly.

a tear rolled down your cheek. It wasn't sad, it represented all the love you had for him.

with your eyes closed, you felt his lips against yours. he had a gift for giving sweet kisses too.

The main problem with the whole mal vs the darkling thing in regards to being possessive (or really when it comes to any of their traits) is the fact that throughout, the darkling is clearly framed as the villain and his actions reflect that, whereas Mal as supposed to be the good guy and best romantic partner for Alina, and yet he has all these awful character traits and tendencies. So its less about how awful the Bad Guy is (since he's supposed to be), and more about how awful the person that we're supposed to believe is the best option for Alina is. I don't ship either, just my two cents.

Okay well... two things. First, your comment about "its less about how awful the bad guy is, since he's supposed to be", takes every comment I've made about Darkles out of context, which seems fitting since everything Darklina's spout about Mal is out of context. Him being the Bad Guy is fine, and if you like him AS A VILLAIN, and acknowledge all the bad shit he does, then my posts aren't for you. I think he's a very interesting villain, and a lot of the terrible shit he does that I have to keep making posts about make him a good villain, the problem is when the terrible shit the "Bad Guy" does is romanticized and viewed as the reasons why Alina SHOULD have picked him. So, don't assume everyone gets that "hes supposed to be awful". The point my post was making is that Darklina's love to call Mal possessive, but then turn around and act like Darkles literally enslaving her in somehow sexy and romantic. It's fucking not, and it's transparent as hell that y'all romanticize and sexualize the actually possessive character, and then project false character traits onto Mal. It's so transparent, it's almost funny.

But, more importantly, to your second, very wrong point, I wonder how much of the narrative about Mal having "awful character traits and tendencies" is actually a commentary on Mal as a character, or is it just Darklina's lying about things Mal has done and everyone accepting that misinterpretation as canon. Because, if were making a list...

Fuck boy - False! Mal was not a fuck boy! He was an attractive teenager who hooked up with consenting girls his age when he could, and he was not in a relationship during that time. Alina had never told him how she felt, so he is not beholden to her. (Also, nobody seems to have an issue with the fact that Darkles hooked up with Zoya in the show, that doesn't make HIM a fuckboy... interesting) (also also, nobody seems to discuss Darkles literally sexually assaulting Alina, and lying and manipulating her to get her to be physically intimate with him so he can use her... double interesting).

Slut Shames Alina - FALSE! The ever favourite callout line from Darklina's "He's all over you" isn't him slut shaming her. First, he has no idea what their relationship is like at that point, but more importantly, he is making an observation of her status in the little palace and how she has become his tool. He has dressed her up in his colors, made her put on a show for his benefit, and has created a situation where Alina appears to be his. Mal is noting that after months of searching for her, believing she was being hurt, tortured, or worse, when he arrives to save her, she looks like the Darkling's pet. (and, even if he WAS angry because he perceived them to be romantically involved, boy just spent months fighting for his life, lost multiple friends, and almost died to find her, all while coming to the realisation that he was in love with her, and then he shows up, after not hearing from her for months... I'd be pissed as hell too.) Important Note: He even acknowledges that what he said was wrong and tries to apologise, before Alina tells him that he was right. (Shadow and Bone, pg. 286). He also then apologizes, completely unprompted, for what he said. (Shadow and Bone, pg. 297).

Fat Shames Alina - False! This one is particularly laughable to me, because its one of the Darklina arguments that falls apart the second you actually read the scene. They are running for their lives in the forest, and Mal has to hunt and gather to feed them. He is noting that Alina's appetite has increased since he last saw her, and he makes a joke (ya know, how you do with friends) about how it would be easier to keep her fed if she still had her more meager appetite from before. He makes no comment on her weight, or her size, and he is not actually commenting on her appetite in a negative way, he is just acknowledging that it's a lot more work for him now that she eats more. Right before he says the line, the quote even proves that he isn't shaming her or thinking badly of her: "With a bemused expression, he watched as I gobbled down my portion and then sighed, still hungry". He is noting a change in her, and complaining that its made more work for him. If you think thats the same as fat shaming, well... thats a you problem.

Hates Alina's Powers - FALSE!!!! How to begin... do we talk about it was Mal's idea to hunt the stag in S&B, because he knew she needed it to be more powerful so she could stop the darkling? Do we talk about how he vowed to find the firebird for her, even though he was terrified of what all that power would do to her? Do we talk about how he literally died so she could achieve the power she needed to save the world? Or maybe we could talk about how he believed in her power more than anyone else, like when everyone was making bets about her abilities with the Cut and he knew she'd go further and better than anyone else expected her too, or when he tells her that he was never afraid of her powers, only what seeking all that power would do to her (which is literally the theme of the books, that power corrupts and seeking unmatched power can destroy you)? Mal being afraid of what is going to happen to Alina, being protective of her and worrying over her, is not the same as him hating her powers. He exists to help remind Alina of the themes of the story, and to guide her into maintaining her humanity.

Abusive - ... Do I even need to explain this one? Must I deign an explanation as to why this favourite Darklina lie is so fucking stupid, and also totally hypocrisy? No? Because we all know Darkles is actually the abusive one and they're trying to project their own shit onto Mal to further their abuse apologist agenda? Cool. Moving on.

Possessive of Alina - False! Throughout the entire series, Mal is quite literally the opposite of possessive, but yall just cant read. Not only does he quite literally step out of the way and allow Nikolai to court Alina without argument, which is the most direct example of him not being possessive, he also spends two full books believing, and repeatedly saying over and over and over, that they can't be together because he is not good enough for her. Mal believes, fully, that Alina deserves more than him, better than him, because he's just a tracker and a soldier, just a regular man with nothing to offer her but his love and his protection, and she is a Saint and should be a Queen. Possessiveness is the wish to own and control someone, it is literally the opposite of Mal believing that he's not good enough and doing everything he can to ensure that Alina achieves everything and gets everything he believes she is owed. A possessive character would not tell her to tell him to leave because he has nothing he can offer her, no title or land or country or crown. A possessive character would not promise to be the blade in her hand, because he believed he had nothing but the blood he could spill to offer her.

Angry - True! Yeah, omg, you caught us, Mal is ANGRY! Heaven forbid a teenager who is traumatized beyond belief and has to give up everything in his life, his position in the military (he deserted for her), his friends and the job he loved (Mikhail and Dubrov died for him, and he can't be a tracker in the army... because he deserted... for Alina), and, most importantly, he has to give up Alina (she should be Queen, he believes, and he has to give up the future he imagined with the girl he loves, who he was pretty sure loved him back, because she's a saint and queen and he's just a man), and more, is ANGRY. He has to be the one to find the amplifiers that he knows will end up hurting her, because thats what she needs to save the world. He has to sit by while Nikolai treats him like the dirt on his shoe and tries to woo Alina for his own personal gain (because Nikoalai did not love Alina. Maybe he came to care for her, but he proposed and spent all of S&S trying to get her to marry him when it was obvious they were not in love. He straight up says its so that the next King of Ravka can be married to the Sun Summoner. It's a power grab.) and he can't do anything about it. So yeah, Mal is angry. And yeah, sometimes he's even angry at Alina, just like sometimes she's angry at him. But they always find their way back, always apologize and try to be better for each other, and if you think anger is a toxic trait, and not simply a natural human emotion, might I suggest touching some fucking grass?

Idk why you thought I'd stand for Mal slander on my blog, cuz I will not. So, I'm gonna stop there, because I have shit to do today, but I really do wonder how much of Mal's 'toxic' or 'terrible' traits, that make him such a 'bad' love interest for Alina, really comes from Darklina's who refuse to actually read the text critically at all, and instead take everything he does and says out of context to further their agenda that Alina should have ended up as the Darkling's fucking slave forever, because thats the "girl power feminist" ending somehow. Mal supports her, loves her, sacrifices for her at every turn, and does everything he can do, to the point of literally dying for her, to ensure that she can defeat Darkles and save the world. He protects her, and when they end up happy and safe together on the orphange that they've rebuilt to help the children that were victims of Darkles war and genocide, he spends his days bringing her tea and cakes and flowers, kissing her silly under the stairs in the view of all the teachers, and calling her names like beauty, beloved, cherished, my heart for the rest of their ordinary life together, if love can ever be called that.

Kaede Akamatsu Rework!

So I decided I wanted to redesign/rework like every DRV3 character let's see if I actually do :> For reworks I'm either creating a backstory (since most of the kids have like no history) or really changing things if I find their ingame writing to be problematic. After each design I'll describe why I made the changes I did and then include the rewrite! These character sheets are mainly for me so I can draw the characters I like more comfortably but if you wanna use em go ahead!

Design Details

My style is very simplistic so I simplified a lot! Especially the skirt omg

Very round! Roundness = friendshaped and Kaede is 100% a friend

Slightly brighter colors because I feel like they fit her personality

I felt like she could be more piano-themed so I modified her skirt and hairclips

Gave her sweater vest a simple pattern for extra cuteness

Gave her Mary Janes cuz I thought it was cute

Tie > Bowtie because I like bowties

Short sleeves because, again, I like short sleeves

Story Rework (more like "story addition")

Kaede grew up in a upper-middleclass family with a grand piano passed down from a great grandmother. From a young age she was adept at playing it but quickly became a pro all on her own. Pianos (specifically gran pianos) hold a sentimental place in her heart.

She's an only-child with two very loving and supportive parents. They have always supported her in playing piano and would look out for her when she became so invested in her music that she'd forget to eat. They helped teach her how to be the kind and compassionate person she is. Neither of them are very adept at music but they do their best to keep up with her and will sing along when she plays.

Kaede had never been great at playing outside or prolonged periods of activity. Such events would always make her incredibly tired, out of breath, and dehydrated. Because of this she was drawn to play piano all them time as many other activities tired her out. She found out during a doctor visit that she was anemic the whole time. Taking iron supplements allowed her to be more active but she still wanted to avoid a lot of sports due to her worry that she might injure her fingers, therefore inhibiting her ability to play piano.

Kaede is a sweet and caring person but she's also very stubborn and snaps when angered. She goes out of her way to help others but isn't afraid to tell them what she thinks is wrong with them. She does this in an attempt to help them better themselves but it can be seen as rude. She's also rather headstrong in her ways and will become unintentionally forceful in some situations if she sees only one way of doing something.

Random Tidbits

If Kaede isn't actively doing something with her hands she will gently move her fingers as if playing piano. She never intends to do this and gets very embarrassed if it's pointed out to her.

Kaede has sharp ears, perfect for catching if notes are even a little bit out of tune. However, she's also very good at picking up inflections in voices because of this. This helps with her often oblivious nature.

She's got very specific music tastes and isn't afraid to share them. She prefers instrumental, classical music as she thinks it conveys emotion to a finer degree than modern songs. There are some genres she simply can't stand and she will force you to either put on headphones, shut it off, or change it.

Kaede is very affectionate and loves to show it. She hits hard with meaningful compliments and also loves to hug. Or any form of physical affection, really. Hand holding, headbutting, back pats, you name it. She often forgets to ask others if they're comfortable with that, though, which leads to awkwardness.

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 110

The writer doesn’t need to rush to akito (antagonist) & give us quick background exposition & escalate her mentality to the exploding moment, simply cuz tohru (the protagonist) isn’t emotionally in her most vulnerable moment yet. Tohru’s issues will be presented deeper  with each pov chapter she’ll have. So what should the writer do now?

This is a connected plot, meaning the emotions belonging to the previous chapter are still lingering & needs to be dealt with. There is no stupid laughing & cooking or even dumber momentarily amnesia. Nope! There is this:

-The Art of Writing Slow-Burns: (Lingering Emotions:)

Last time kyo hugged tohru thro the sheets. sth he wouldn’t do if it weren’t for the heartbreaking moment of tohru’s tears & the reason behind them. Why wouldn he do it? cuz he believes he’s the reason of her pain & is setting his mind on leaving her & being imprisoned as a punishment. He  wouldn’t do it cuz he loves her but he did it cuz he loves her. why? cuz love is illogical. Kyo’s heart moved him effortlessly to embrace her & “ his tenderness covered her pain” as the writer put it at the end of ch109.

Last time tohru hugged kyo thro the sheets, sth she wouldn’t do if it weren’t for the comfort of his warmth enveloping her loneliness & providing safety & a home. A home can a person. Why wouldn she do it? cuz Tohru is someone who hides pain behind a smile, someone who thinks she’s ugly & unlovable cuz she’s grieving still after all this time. She’s thinks she’s a burden. But here she confessed to kyo unprompted or advised by anybody. He only asked a fleeting question. but tohru cant hide who she is friom him anymore. Still, he accepted her & tenderly held her thro the sheets & she threw her body at him, she initiated the hug.

The sheet hig is the biggest emotional moment between kyo/tohru yet. It altered how they feel for each other cuz in that moment tohru’s mask fell & kyo was the most honest with himself emotionally. That’s not sth you move from with the stupid ED song. They both try to carry out normally afterwards cuz they live together after all. The slightest touch brings..... sexual tension!!!  it was so bad poor yuki left the house running!!!!!!!!

The writer cleverly escalates the sexual tension as they awkwardly try to find a talking topic, then dissolves it a bit when kto asks if tohru wants to go out together & where, then escalates it when tohru suggests buying eggs cuz she’s awkward, then dissolves it when kyo grumpily agrees but this is just grocery shopping” not a fun going out”, the escalates it when tohru said she’s happy for just bring together with him regardless of the location & kyo looses it! sexual tension explodes!

The target of the slow-burn isn’t the characters... the target is the audience! the writer plays with their emotions & cleverly puts the audience in a place where they desperately want these two idiots together but still remember why they aren’t! that’s very important. Having the readers cheer for a romantic relationship includes the readers understanding the obstacles ahead & how big they are & still cheer. If the obstacles are meh~ the readers will find the couple unrealistic, if the obstacles are so big & the couples emotions aren't buildup properly, then the couple themselves will feel meh~. Glad kyoru survived such writing mistakes both manga & anime ( anime hurt their characters more than their relationship).

-Yuki wants to move on from the unofficial son third wheeling his mom & her man:

The writer jokes abt yuki admitting he felt as a son watching his mon & her bf. I love tha this joke becuz it cleverly addresses the following points:

it is cleverly weaved in with the kyoru incident from last chapter. Sth happen & yuki doesn't know what is & doesn't want to! Yuki represents the audience I talked abt in the slow-burn point above. He is us. He’ll cheer for them to be together & will be so frustrated when they can’t. It adds to yuki confronting kyo at the climax!!! You see in the anime kyo/yuki stopped interacting much in se03. Then tada~~ big fight when it’s a must! & can’t be escaped... Here we still have kyo/yuki moments despite each boy moving away from his issues being the fault of the other. Basically better writing.....

The writer cleverly used this to address that yuki still feels like tohru’s son sometimes despite being more independent now, which is natural as you cant switch ur feelings with a button. But also the writer doesnt stay in this moment long & use it to build the next moment.. yuki/Aya , yuki/machi & aya/mine.... sadly all there dynamics are shortened in the anime like kyoru’s.

-I don’t think yuki/Aya  moment suffered much from the cuts, the entire school parents meeting ep us enough to reconcile the brothers. Aya defended yuki that day & so did yuki. He completely accepted him & stood up to him in front of the mom.

- More aya/mine would’ve been good to see & I would’ve preferred it to yuki/motoko moments in the anime that served nothing. but aya/mine too are stand alone story. They’re the most alike couple in a healthy way. Aya is the guy who protected his woman the most. simply cuz he’s the snake. snakes are secretive. he kept her to himself, even from yuki!!! impressive.

- What I lament from the cut of this mini yuki adventure?

1- This: ( yuki’s facial expressions) This is sth the anime fears, either cuz (a) pretty yuki is 100% pretty all the time, so no expressiveness cuz it leads to showing eyebrows & hiding them under layers of hair is the A.B.C of pretty characters... (b) Yuki in the anime is a prince 98% of the time, except with kyo (they got rid of this in se03 & give them one honest/ugly moment together) & with kakeru (one tiny moment in se03 in match’’s focus ep & then quickly back to prince yuki!)..., ugh!!!!!! I hate how yuki is prince thro & thro in the anime!!that’s why they couldn’t get rid of any motoko content!!! he’s a prince there... heck! school girls float after him the graduation ceremony... what’s up with that!! lol.

2-. This: ( machi with the toy that tohru/kisa/kagura/momiji & kiro like! so cute!!! also, foreshadowing yuki’s future chosen extended family! (his bro & his wife), (yuki & his wife) & best friend/his brother in law! Also, yuki is so himself! no glitters, no bubbles & no pretending anger! <3

Side Notes:

The lovely @mizzraynelly​ made notice kto’s speech in ch109 abt not vising his mom’s grave! Even tho it’s such a minor line, it’s one of the biggest cuts that foreshadow the accumulation of kyo’s guilt towards his mom. Kyo’s thing is guilt towards ppl he loves & fear of hurting them, by keeping this feeling alive in readers’ minds, the writer is making sure that the climax will hurt like sharp knives cuz the readers are on the same wave liength as kyo!!! epic buildup consists of tiny subtle pieces!

 Luckily, kyoru as a ship felt so strong in both manga & anime despite the later cutting half of their moments. Why? cuz the chosen cuts didnt affects the romantic relationship...no... the cuts affects the characters’ own personal struggle... most precisely tohru. Kyo’s own character struggles had better luck in the anime despite the cuts, simply cuz (a) was drawn with very expressive emotions & the anime team lingered on them in his scenes. (b) His character design as a whole was very expressive, the anime team didnt give him constant wide eyes like tohru & didn’t fear expr4essivness will affect for his “beauty “ like yuki. (c) kyo was given one ep per season for his issues which altho not much but way better than tohru (d) most important: kyo’s issues are very universal & very relatable” feeling guilt, mistakes & choosing wrong. That’s sth we all do!!! Tohru’s thing is grieve: this is very personal & most ppl experience it differently. 

I love kyo’s oufit!!! we have a hint of this moment in se03, ep 10 when yuki was fighting kyo... but they made yuki see them shopping as opposed of him seeing them being sexually charged!

I’m so mad this kyoru moment is cut!!!!!! tohru as a woman with pending sexual emotions is so refreshing & underrated in the trope of “ girl saves guys”. Also, it contradicts the pure mom image that’s been suffocating her since se01 ep 1!!!!! oh now i know why it’s cut... That’s why! momma tohru is so pure for such things & only when it’s the last two eps, then will allow her to be a woman choosing to live away with her man by her own desire! Why the anime only allow things ti happen when there’s no escape!!! I’ve always felt tohru/kyo is the type of couple to be expressive emotionally & sexually with each other based on seeing that ALL of their romantic interaction involves body language & I’m so happy there’s a canon proof so early before the future glimpse in finale!!!!!! 

I liked the aya-story, but it felt like the typical “ lesson of the day” formula, so I didnt analyze it much, but I enjoyed the brotherly interaction so much!! It had a gold mine of yuki being himself & so nit a prince! Im so happy I saw it! <3.

Every time yuki looked expressive is a happy moment for me!
