Becky and Joe walked on stage wearing sunglasses and red leather jackets and threw 3 of the trio plushies into the crowd. didn't get one unfortunately but it's really cool some people got free plushies :)

they made this robot child called the Inspiration Child, who's clearly meant to be a nod to ai (can learn from our show and generate it's own content!)

they explained how they met (and had some dodgy animated retelling), and how they started with small projects like commercials and music videos, until they came up with designs of the trio (and a mysterious fourth fella)

they made the designs first, then made the set, then the song and finally wrote the script for creativity. red guy was just a red mop head with legs at first ("alien squid thing") but Joe put the red guy head on for shits and giggles once and Becky thought it was hilarious so they kept it in the show

they were really not expecting it to blow up, and when Sundance called because they wanted to show creativity Becky thought it was a scam caller lol

they talked about the kickstarter and the credit card fraud kid. the mailed him saying "hey maybe dont do that" but the kid didnt know how to undo it cuz he just found a website full of credit card information and went ham, so Becky and Joe had to contact kickstarter because people were pulling out of the funding because they thought the project was overfunded (kickstarter was very difficult to contact)

they also made (lighthearted) fun of nsfw fluffybird art ((no padlock 😔) "using OUR characters to act out their SICK FANTASIES" - Becky) and theorists, especially because most if not all of the webseries is just them fucking around.

Inspiration Child also says something along the lines of "wow what a cool show with a great message of how corrupt the media is. I hate the media!"

Becky and Joe had these rules to make the show as vague as possible (no pop culture references, no names, no swearing and way too much detail put into small things)(the duck guy drag queen absolutely obliterates the no swearing rule lol)

they talk about the pilot, how they focused too much on the story because they felt like they had to due to it being on the big screen now, and how it ended up ruining the atmosphere and such of the pilot. they did show the entire thing sped up but my phone sucks ass so I could not get it to focus correctly. I'll see what I can salvage so you people can dissect frames of your blorbo you're Legally Not Allowed To See (which is also the official reason we don't get the pilot)

also pilot concept art showed that Mean Steve is in fact just called Key

nobody is asking for my opinion on this but its something i've thought about all my life. which is that i'd probably carry a rapists baby to term if i had the choice and resources at the time. cuz i want a kid and i don't want to have sex or pay for fertilization or anything. and if it already happened then. well. might as well get something i want out of it.

this is not a take about abortion btw. it's just something about me that's always been the case. i know that conservative freaks want to force people to give birth to rapists babies which is like. awful and disgusting. but it's always made me uncomfortable how people will go to the extreme opposite and say shit like "who would EVER want to CARRY their RAPISTS BABY that's DISGUSTING and EVIL" like idk. me i guess. what happened to it being about choice. you don't have to paint it as an inherently degrading and repulsive and weak thing to choose.

obviously this is hypothetical to me right now, maybe if it actually happened i'd change my mind. but i've been repulsed by the idea of having sex with someone for as long as i can remember, i would think about it a lot as a kid because i didnt WANT to have sex, but i DID want kids, and i did want to get pregnant, and i never knew if i'd have the money to use a donor. plus donors are like, their own whole bag of worms.

something something the most clearly gimmicky gen 4 character we know. as your resident pahkitew island apologist, i dont care. it actually took me a bit to warm up to her and i figured id talk abt why that is

so her main thing is being creepy and sadistic for the sake of jokes. its not serious.. mostly. she does prove to actually be down to hurt others (such as when she got a hold of a jackhammer). but what about an instance where she wanted to hurt someone for actual reasons? when was that?

that was when priya went up to her to compliment her on doing a good job on the previous challenge. priya says that shes surprised by scary girl having done a good job.

a very defensive "oh, it surprised you that i was good? cuz you thought id do bad?"

scary girl is very insecure

backing up for a moment, in ep 2 when the teams were on ships and attacking each other, she was the one who came up with the idea of sinking the other teams ship as an idea on what to do when they were out of ammo (? iirc). but no one else heard that, just zee

then in ep 3, ripper makes her go last in the relay race thing bc he didnt want her to "blow things" for the team. she reacts by trying to bite his finger. not with a funny creepy smile, but with genuine anger to her literal bite. and then during that challenge, she infamously grabs a bear by the arm and starts beating it up while saying "thats what you get for growling at me!!!". once shes done, she goes "byeee" and goes on like nothing happened. proving that if someone wrongs her, she can easily let it go.. so long as she gets to do something back. remember this for later

and here we come back to her interaction with priya. so far, scary girl has proven herself to be a pretty alright player and she herself knows that. so the notion of someone being SURPRISED she did well?? does not sit well with her at all. but the way that she harps on the wording, even before zee steps in to make it worse, is what gets to me. it just really adds an extra layer to her character that, well. ironically surprised me! for someone who always seems to be in her own world, so unconventional, so ill-fitting with everyone else to also be insecure in some capacity?

anyway she tries to hurt priya with a spoon but gets interrupted. later on, priya is still thinking abt their encounter and feels bad so she tries to make it up to scary girl by flattering her. namely by saying that scary girls question was smart.. and priya being her awkward self, only dug herself in a hole by making it seem like that was a smart question by scary girls standards

scary girl is speechless. baffled. mad beyond words

it should be noted that scary girl looked offended when priya even started speaking. meaning that she also did not forget about their conversation that morning. she REALLY took it to heart. applying the bear logic here, had scary girl hurt her with the spoon earlier, would she be less mad? would she had considered each other even? and in that case, would this comment go over better or would it had simply restarted her need for revenge?

well. they dont interact for the rest of the episode up until the very end. after ripper used priya as a human shield, obviously injuring her

scary girl tells her that rippers a jerk and that priya didnt deserve that. so she'll be voting to get ripper out. and calls priya her "friend".

(her face and tone makes me a bit suspicious if this was genuine. but thats probably just her being her offputting self so i'll ignore it.) ok so by scary girl logic, priya deserved to have SOMETHING bad coming her way after what she said to her.

but not this.

scary girl, who came here to "make friends and watch them get really hurt", was not okay with what ripper did to priya. perhaps she thinks that only she could be allowed to hurt priya to balance things out? personally giving priya her karma, perhaps?

but now she considers priya a "friend". who likely wants to see her get hurt. but in the fun way that scary girl likely sees most other contestants as, possibly? idk.

anyway after all of that, we can see just how insecure scary girl can get over unintentionally awkward phrasing. just how deeply it hurts her feelings to be underestimated like that

season 2 spoilers ahead !!!

in season 2, we see even less of her. but there is SO much to work with

normal girl is so fascinating to me

by the time s2 starts, scary girl already has an all new look. shes trying to be "normal"

she admits in her confessional that some ppl thought she was too scary in the first season so thats why she changed her appearance and her everything. who were these ppl?

other than a dog as a joke, online forums, showing an interesting glimpse into the in-universe ""real world"" stepping into total drama. perhaps also a meta joke on the fandoms response to her but who knows. imagine unabashedly being yourself on tv and everyone is telling you to change. you are 16 and likely going through a weird phase. feeling a lot of heightened emotions already and ""knowing"" that this is who you are (at the moment). and if its not a phase? still 16 on international television getting lambasted by millions

and last but not least, her MOM??? her own mother. that just raises more questions abt how scary girl was before getting on td. was she NOT like this before? was she playing it up for the cameras? or did she just go unhinged without parental supervision? in any case the fact is that even her own mom wasnt okay with what makes her happy and how she presented herself.

so scary girls solution? to try her best to suppress anything that made her unique. to try to adhere to "societal norms", in her own words.

we dont see much of her in this ep other than her commenting on how shes normal and totally did not want to see someone get hurt. shes clearly struggling so bad. she knows that apparently what she likes isnt "right", therefore the opposite must be true, right?

she is simultaneously so immediately different that the others didnt even recognize her at first. yet still so "scary" that she cant fit in. she just doesnt know how no matter how hard she tries. if she were to stay longer, what can she do? this game is not only abt your skills in the challenges its also a social thing. how long until she snapped and went back to her old ways?

and then we get to the campfire ceremony. chef is about to call out whatever it was the she did wrong that day, but she interrupts him with a simple "no."

she cannot fathom being sent home, at least not this early. bc shes normal! she is sooo normal and she tried SO HARD to be normal! she read normal books and normal movies and studied normal people. she even taught herself to smile in a more acceptable way, which is so autistic coded to me. so she deserves to stay longer.

Yea, I remember Tom mentioning that sometimes he didn't always feel like he fit in with some people on set, and that sometimes you click with your costars, and sometimes you just don't! 🤷🏾‍♀️ It happens.

Daisy sometimes kinda seemed a little annoyed by Tom... or, at least, that's the impression that I kind of got.

Also, I know smthg must have happened with Tom and director Doug Liman and the whole Chaos Walking movie, cuz Tom didn't even bother to promote it lol. 🤣 I'm not sure how Daisy may have felt about that, seeing as how she ended up having to do the little bit of promo all by herself. 🤷🏾‍♀️

But overall, I'm pretty sure Tom gets along with most people. cean's relationship with pain, strength and the significance of his wolf tatooo

(Crosspost from twt i kinda repeated some points i wrote in my last tumblr post ahh but i think this is my complete analysis!! cuz initially i was like Wait did this aspect of cean's character get resolved? Then i remembered his wolf tattoo, and yes it did!! in my opinion at least)

been thinking a lot about cean's complicated relationship with strength and relating it to his worth, and initially i couldnt figure out how he grew from this insecurity, but then i realized...his wolf tattoo is the symbol of his character growth

cean thinks hes only Worthy of his position (in love and life and libei) if he's invincible, if he doesn't fail. Yeah part of why hes so hard on himself when he fails is bc of ego too, but i think it's more bc he feels he let everyone down

like qi zhuyin said, xiao jiming's expectations of cean is also his cage. cean knows that xjm expects him to take over the libei armored cavalry someday. ppl compare both brothers all the time and say cean inherited more of the wolf nature that's needed for a libei general

ppl say it's too bad he wasnt born the eldest son, bc now his "heaven-sent" talents are useless. bc now he's just a wolf w no fangs the constant judgement from outsiders PLUS xiao jiming's great expectations for him....thats such a heavy weight on a kid.....i think thats why cean developed that constant desire to prove himself, but it was all put to an end once he got to qudu 😭 they sent him to the imperial army to rot (which didnt happen cuz they underestimated him)

So fast forward. autumn hunt… i read a review once that said they thought cean's actions were stupid and careless and were contrary to his established character. But i disagree!! in hindsight, yes the better plan would be to not expose his capabilities. like qhl said, if he kept up his facade a little longer he could have gone home sooner

but lanzhou understood why he did it, bc he knew what it was like to suffer in silence. he was fed up😭 and he would rather go home after he had proven himself worthy of it, with a victory via protecting li jianheng. Not just because he faked his way back to libei

Now how does the significance of strength relate to pain for cean? my thoughts started cooking when i read that scene in book 2 where he extinguishes a candle w his fingers, because he liked that searing pain OMFG I WISH I HAD BOOK 2 RN BC IDR THE CONTEXT OF THAT SCENE. but i vaguely remember it relates to libei. anyway there's that, and i was like hmm whst does that mean? And i think i understood it more after he told ji gang to punish him by whipping whenever lanzhou gets hurt. in other words, When he fails to protect lanzhou. when he fails to fulfill his promise to him:

"It won’t hurt anymore. I promise. Lanzhou will never hurt again."

cean thinks he deserves punishment via physical pain when he thinks hes let people down. because he is unworthy of his position if hes not invincible.

I've always thought lanzhou and cean's journeys were inverse: lanzhou grows as he gains what he's lost to fate, and cean grows as he loses what fate has given him. And to someone who thinks he's worthless when he fails….😭😭 well……..

The tragedy is that he learns he is worth more than his failures or victories after he loses his father. when cean thougt was needed the most, he couldn't protect xfx. his father and also the backbone of libei. double defeat…..

but again, lanzhou was there. he was there to depend on him, to let cean know that he didn't need to be invincible to be worthy of love, of his position in libei, or as xjm's brother and xfx's son. lanzhou's dependence meant his trust and belief and love is unconditional. if cean told lanzhou "with me here, you will never fall" …i think lanzhou's response would be "even if you fall, I'll always be here"

when cean got the wolf tattoo (before the injury he got from trying to get xfx back healed ), i think that was meant to show his newfound understanding of himself. a permanent reminder of how he failed, but also that he wont let it define him. he'll keep going even if he falls

so they changed A Lot of shadow's backstory, but hearing it from a gun agent he prob got misinformed or is lying (they lied ab the blast being from shadow's experiment) so who knows🤷‍♀️ doesnt explain why he looks like sonic and has his kinda powers, or why maria is even there cuz "taking my granddaughter everywhere" isnt a reason to let her stay in a "dangerous alien facility" skhdjdhfs.. i was so ❓❓ when maria said theyre on earth cuz huh,,

didnt like how they completely erased maria's illness too- cuz the fact that even if the gun raid didnt happen shes still gonna die from it either way makes everything sadder. so she died from an explosion instead of a direct shot, but gerald and shadow survived with little damage- they probably felt hella guilty for being the ones to survive instead of her even tho they were RIGHT THERE.

he didnt remember anything before arriving there so im guessing he'll find out ab the black doom stuff later on in his spin off. im lowkey hoping 10 mins of it to kinda be like 'zuko alone' ep. But also maybe possibly we can have team dark and mephilies there too??

i also predicted metal sonic cuz i thought after shadow eggman realized he needed someone exactly like sonic to rival him. but is it activated after his death making it confirmed, or did stone finish the project? im expecting to see orbot and cubot in the next movie too. stone is probably the main villain with a lot of inner conflict- grieving eggman while wanting to avenge him, but still sympathizing and caring for team sonic in some way (i rly dont think he hates them before but later on blames them for not saving him too).

Heyy it's been a while I went off tumblr to focus on studying (although I barely am) but I was still plagued with kiawren thoughts..

Ugh I should have slept instead of writing this but I've been listening to pierce the veil and this AU is on my mind. I have like one post here tagged #suneater!kiawren for it but here's what it is basically: kiawe and wren as ace and yamato from one piece respectively. Wren has the Tiangou devil fruit and kiawe obviously has the flame flame fruit. Which for non one piece ppl means they have those powers. And if you've got a zoan fruit you're a furry basically (For mythical zoans like the Tiangou (a tiangou fruit is not in canon btw, but yamato has a similar mythical dog fruit) honestly have whatever the fuck powers you could just go ham with the lore to give them some op in universe power (idk this is from I've watched so far) so Wren can turn into a dog and also eat the sun or whatever I don't car I'm just writing that for kiawren don't care about the meta

Anyway so wren falls in love with kiawe in this AU. And in one piece I think yamato and ace only actually spent one night together? I think they loved each other though, maybe not necessarily romantic. And maybe it was more yamato. And I relate to that one sided desire to be near someone. Anywayyy Yamato is chained to an island and trapped, I didnt specify that wren is similarly chained but he also has certain ambitions he can't reach yet. And kiawe reminds him of those ambitions. And how it may be possible to reach them. And he wants to go with him. Obviously also reflecting irl me LOL ok. One piece spoilers here...

Ace dies so maybe kiawe does too iddk? I don't want him to die but just remove him from wren's life it's vague what happened to him but anyway that dog is gonna be so sad he's gone. And his hope and ambitions are crushed. And keep the vivre card scene (your vivre card burning means you're dying) I can be trusted to be normal about this scene and its composition and colours dont worryy also cuz burning. Is a motif here.
