Posting my original review of this fic now that I have access to it!
SHUT THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW THIS IS SUCH A GOOD READ. Obviously as a resident mythology/theology nerd I was so excited to read this and I finally sat down to do it and I am SO HAPPY that I did. I immediately was kicking my feet at the thought of God of the Sea Chan basically settling down in a little cute boardwalk aquarium and living a quiet little life. LikeâŠ. literally that is the perfect character choice for someone who has lived so long and who used to be a god, just sort of deciding that the small things and running this little aquarium is enough. Like I cannot express how much that decision was so fucking perfect.
The imagery in this is so !!!! I was literally in love with it. I loved that I could picture them in this little beach town and the places their eating with all this very specific decor and I could almost picture the aquarium - Jess this literallllyyy is so descriptive and wonderful I am kicking my damn feet.
Do not get me started on this Chan. He is so charming and I love how heâs sort of just this quiet figure to his staff who is like standoffish but very polite and kind and has this aura about him and reader comes in and is like actually no youâre evil akdijsofoisej like something about that is so funny to me. I adored that right away I was like OHHHHH they have a history - theyâre sensing their past selves and !!!! that literally made me insane.
I donât know I just fucking loved this so much. As soon as I got to the dream section with Amphitrite I about threw my laptop because I realized OHH itâs literally his WIFE!!! That is your WIFE!!!! SIR!!!
Okay Iâm done yelling I just really fucking loved this. And I also LOVED the end - there is something that feels very very very accurate that a god of the sea sort of vanishes to go find answers just like - super untamable and very hard to catch and sheâs like sike I will actually follow you for a lifetime oseifjsoija Iâm so ill this was so good I loved this goodbye.

pairing: greek god!chan x reincarnated sea nymph!f!reader genre: angst, romance, smut | reincarnation, fantasy, greek gods!au rating: explicit, minors DNI word count: ~15.8k warnings: mentions of past unhealthy relationships, (possibly inaccurate) greek mythology, lots of POV switches (but i don't think it's confusing) mentions of eating, explicit smut, multiple sex positions, unprotected sex (just don't), slight edging, overstimulation, fingering, oral sex (f. receiving), chan is strong and very in control, i think that's all but let me know if it's not
summary: Chan remembers everything. Every little thing that's happened to him since his days as one of the twelve Olympians. Poseidon to be exact. Even though he tries not to think about it now that he's living in modern times running a sad little aquarium, some memories are more vivid than others. Then, you stumble into his life and he can't explain the draw. You can't seem to figure out how this man is keeping an aquarium like this running when it seems like it's not that busy. Something about him really seems to put you off, despite the fact that he seems drawn to you. None of it makes any sense...until it does.
a/n: this is for the 13 Gods of Olympus collab that @beomcoups & @wooahaeproductions have been tirelessly working on. thank you so much for hosting this! i know this isn't the end for this couple, but i really needed to get this out into the world. if you want to know what happens next with them, let me know.
a/n 2: this is semi-unedited and i'm just throwing it out into the world but i'll come back. if you see anything glaring, no you didn't!

Another day, another dollar.Â
Wasnât that what the humans said about another day spent working at some mindless job? Despite all the years heâs spent blending into their world, Chan still doesnât really understand the humans. Doesnât really understand why they put up with so many things they seemingly hate. Doesnât really understand why they waste their short lives on something that makes them miserable. But, in fairness to the humans, Chan has also never had to worry about the trivial things that come along with working like money, possessions, or a home. When youâre one of the original gods of Olympus and life is seemingly infinite, money isnât really an issue.Â
Thatâs who Chan was in another lifetime: Poseidon. The God of the Sea, among other things. At least, until Olympus fell. A painful thought that he usually tries to push from his mind.
In the early days after Olympus fell, Chan still went through life acknowledging who he was. He leveraged his powers for favors or for payment. He used his control of the water and everything in it to get him what he needed. But, the years went by and the Olympians became the stuff of myth. Of stories. The kind of characters that you read about in books. Only the most eccentric members of society continue to worship the Olympians as if theyâre real. Which they are, Chan reminds himself. Or, they were. As the faith faded, so did the Olympiansâ belief in restoring themselves to full power. One by one, they gave up the task of finding a way back until it was only Chan and Zeus left. Two of the brightest minds of Olympus. Even they had to admit their own defeat.Â
Which leads to the present day. Chan has taken on a new persona, for theâŠwell, heâs lost track of what number this one is. Heâs just thankful for his ability to shapeshift into someone new whenever he needs to. Takes a new name every time, too. At first, he tried to keep in touch with his siblings and the other Olympians. That, too, fades over time. Itâs been at least a century since heâs spoken to any of them. Though, occasionally, heâll catch wind of something through the chattering of local sea creatures. Something that says at least some of them are still out there.
Chan sighs. Thereâs really no reason for him to be wandering down memory lane in this way. He thinks, not for the first time, that maybe he needs to pick a different cover job. One that will keep his mind a little more occupied. The reality is, though, heâs tried nearly everything he could think of over the centuries. Changing professions is a frequent occurrence when he doesnât want to let his body show too many signs of age. Not that he minds, itâs just that people start to ask too many questions about how heâs handling things someone âhis ageâ shouldnât be able to handle. In the end, working with sea life has always been the best. And this set up, where heâs running a smaller aquarium off of some long forgotten boardwalk in an area that doesnât get much traffic, is also great. It isnât even that Chan doesnât like being around people. He finds humans entertaining in most senses. Itâs just that nothing in this life is permanent for him. Heâs not going to fall in love and grow old with someone. Best to just keep things at armâs length.Â
Most days are more or less the same and Chan works the majority of them. On the rare days off, heâs not far away since his little house is within walking distance of both the aquarium, the boardwalk itâs on, and the water. He trusts the limited staff that he has because he pays them well. Better than any other similar business, but he values loyalty. And they donât seem to question how heâs able to make things work. That is largely due to the anonymous donors that make monthly contributions to the aquarium. Really, itâs just Chan funneling money that heâs earned over his many years on Earth so that he can keep a business afloat. Nobody seems to have anything to say. Beyond the staff not asking questions, they are all very good at their jobs. It makes life easier for Chan that way because he doesnât have to micromanage them. Everyone knows what theyâre supposed to do and will only ask questions if they hit an actual block. No, the aquarium runs very smoothly. It just doesnât get a lot of business.
Since every day kind of blends together, Chan almost never realizes as days or weeks or even months pass by. Heâs in a sort of autopilot where he also knows what he has to do and just does it without question. Itâs just rinse and repeat day in and day out.Â
Until itâs not. Until the first day that he notices you in his small, out of the way little aquarium. Until the day that everything starts to change.
Youâre not really sure what pulls you in for the first time. Youâve probably passed this sad little aquarium dozens of times without giving it a second thought. Then, one day, you decide that you might as well go in. The cost of admission is incredibly reasonable, but you think thatâs probably why you havenât gone sooner. It might seem counterintuitive. You just wonder how well the animals can be taken care of with such a low cost of admission. Youâre not sure if you can handle seeing animals mistreated. Still, thereâs no going back now. Even with the outside seemingly a little poorly cared for, you still find your feet pulling you forward.Â
Youâve never been more wrong about anything in your life.Â
The dingy outside gives way to a vibrant inside thatâs teeming with love and light. The art on the walls is carefully curated to match the different areas of the aquarium. There are workers with genuine smiles going about their days. Even the animals seem to be happy. Itâs also deceptively large on the inside. It makes you wonder why it looks so run down from the outside. Surely, someone that cares this much about the animals could care a little more for the outside as well. Maybe thatâs the point. Why waste money on an outside nobody really cares about when it can go to the best care possible?
Almost immediately, you feel a sense of peace wash over you. Just this morning, you were ready to explode from all the stress in your life. Now, stress feels like the furthest thing from your mind. In fact, you canât even remember what you were stressed about. Strange. This is the first time you remember a single place erasing any sort of worry. Just as youâre about to consider that the place holds some kind of magic, you realize that not everyone seems to be as at ease. A mother scolds her child and an elderly couple bicker. It breaks a little bit of the illusion, though you still feel calm.Â
Subconsciously, your feet carry you to the area with the sea otters. They have always been some of your favorites, even if theyâre not the typical sea resident that people think about. As you watch on, two chase each other around the enclosure. They seem like they must be young with the way they canât seem to stop playing. Itâs incredibly endearing to watch. Another, slightly larger, otter emerges from around a bend and the original two quickly dip under the water to shoot off. It almost seems like a mother scolding her children, but maybe youâre creating too many stories within your own mind. Your imagination, especially around sea life, can be a bit active.
A few minutes later, a worker comes out and starts feeding all the otters. Theyâre quick to come and get the food, showing just how many there are. You werenât expecting to see such a large population in this off-the-beaten-path aquarium. The man feeding them looks young, but thatâs true of nearly everyone that youâve seen here. They all look young and entirely too pretty. This man is no different. Heâs sporting a very blond, shaggy semi-mullet that doesnât look like it could possibly be his natural hair color. Yet, it looks remarkably believable on him. When you frown at the amount of food heâs giving to the otters, he walks over to the side of the enclosure and leans on the railing close to you. He tosses a bucket of crab legs out into the water and the otters go crazy for that. It seems an odd choice for animals living in captivity, but what do you know?Â
âDid you know,â the man begins, âthat sea otters eat 25% of their weight in food every day?âÂ
Well. That certainly explains it. âI didnât.âÂ
âI like to give them the crab legs too because itâs a fun little activity for them,â he carries on with a smile. âItâs also something theyâd eat in the wild.âÂ
âThat seemsâŠexpensive,â you say carefully.Â
The man only smiles bigger. âOh it is! But our boss has really great donors for the aquarium and we can afford to feed them well.âÂ
âWell, then the otters are definitely lucky,â you note and turn back to the otters.
âWe all are. Chan takes care of us just as well as all the animals that live here,â he says.Â
âChan?â you ask.Â
âOh, our boss,â the man carries on happily. âIâm Soonyoung, by the way.âÂ
You take his extended hand and give your own name in response. Soonyoung happily carries on with telling you all about the otters they have, including the name of each one. Then he offers to take you on a tour of the aquarium because of your interest. Itâs too nice of an offer to turn down. It also further proves that you should not judge a book by its cover. Every inch of the aquarium is so masterfully cared for and every living being seems happy. That is, if a fish can also seem happy. The tanks arenât overcrowded or dirty. And, you canât explain it, but you can just tell theyâre happy. Each person that they encounter seems to genuinely love their job. Youâre not even sure why youâre paying such close attention. Or why you care so much.Â
Truthfully, thereâs always been something of a call to the ocean. A peace that comes over you when youâre near the water. It was enough to get you to move cities, figuring that would satisfy that need. The pull only got stronger. Plenty of people feel at peace surrounded by water, you reason, and donât think further on it. You donât consider that worrying about the conditions in an aquarium may not be normal. Donât consider that most people donât start getting moody when theyâve been separated from the ocean too long. Donât consider that it really is only the ocean. Although sometimes a freshwater lake, when itâs big enough with plenty of fish in it, will fill up your cup, it never lasts as long. It also never works to alleviate your mood when you do something as simple as going into the pool.Â
The trip around the aquarium with Soonyoung seems like exactly what you need. Until suddenly, it doesnât. As heâs taking you through an exhibit area, a young man appears from behind a closed door marked as Staff Only. Heâs got a dress shirt on with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. His short dark hair highlights striking features. And, you think, he would be beautiful if it werenât for the frown on his face. He looks entirely too serious for someone so young. Heâs also much more dressed up than anyone else at the aquarium.
âOh, there he is!â Soonyoung exclaims, causing the man to turn towards the two of you. His face softens a bit at seeing Soonyoung before studying you somewhat quizzically.Â
âSoon,â he says with the air of someone exasperated at Soonyoungâs antics.Â
âThis is Chan, our boss,â Soonyoung carries on and your eyebrows fly into your hairline as he introduces you to his boss.Â
Truthfully, Chan looks younger than Soonyoung in some ways. But, thereâs a wisdom in his face that your new friend lacks. Like heâs lived a hundred lifetimes already. It catches you off guard. But, Chan extends his hand to shake yours and thatâs when you feel it. A sudden surge of annoyance that lasts only as long as your hands are connected. If he feels anything, he doesnât show it. His smile is friendly and it only confuses you further.Â
A moment later, Chan excuses himself from the pair of you and Soonyoung leads you away to continue the tour. You canât really shake the odd feeling you got from the handshake, though. When Soonyoung concludes his tour, you ask about opportunities to volunteer. Thereâs something about this place that feels like home and youâre not really sure what it is. Soonyoungâs face brightens.Â
âChan doesnât believe in volunteers. Even if you only come in once a month, he pays you for your time and obviously waives the entrance fee so you can come visit even when youâre not working,â he says with a bright smile.
âOh, I donât need a jobâŠâ you start before he waves you off.Â
âLeave me your contact information and Iâll pass it on. He coordinates everything himself and he can go over it all with you. Iâm sure heâd be happy to have another animal lover around here,â Soonyoung says with a smile that you canât ignore. You just met this man, why are you already incapable of saying no to him?Â
âDo you have some paper?â you ask.
Chan spends the rest of the day thinking about you after a simple handshake. Then, when Soonyoung tells him that youâre interested in helping out, his pulse races in a way thatâs entirely foreign to him. He canât remember the last time a human turned his world upside down with something so seemingly trivial. In fact, he was so focused on keeping his face neutral, he didnât notice the look on your face in response to him. Heâs too concerned with seeing you again to consider anything else. Too consumed by the need to unravel whatever mystery there is to you that he canât seem to place. Honestly, Chan canât remember the last time he felt anything even approaching this. Nothing makes him really feel in this way. Not anymore, at least. He finds himself counting down until your first shift.
Until it actually gets here, that is.Â
You report to Chanâs office, just as he asks. He holds his breath as you cast your eyes around his office area. Wonders what youâre thinking when your gaze lingers on certain things within the office. For a second, Chan considers whether it seems human enough. Itâs been nearly a year since anyone new joined the staff and he wonders if heâs gotten sloppy. Nothing in your face seems to give any sort of feeling away. It surprises Chan a bit that he canât seem to read anything about you. When your eyes rest on him, he sees a flicker of something he canât place. Something that looks an awful lot like annoyance.Â
He confirms it when his hand accidentally grazes yours to hand over your new ID. It says volunteer since you insist on only being there when you have the time, but itâs a full ID anyway. Thatâs just how Chan does things. When his hand meets yours briefly, he gets the sharpest flash of irritation heâs ever felt. Itâs confusing because it is definitely not his own emotion that heâs feeling. And thatâs not something that Chan can remember happening before either. Not like this at least.Â
Chan has powers, he knows that. He can, sometimes, tune into the emotions of others. Itâs easiest when heâs trying to tune into a sea animal or someone at home in water. Back before Olympus fell, he was able to tune into the emotions or even the minds of all the creatures in the sea, like the sirens, sea nymphs, merpeople, and everything else you could imagine. Even then, he usually has to actively try to tap into those emotions. Itâs not something that justâŠhappens. Not when all heâs done is let his hand graze someone elseâs. Not when heâs not actively trying to feel something. It shouldnât be something that happens with a mere human, either.Â
You, for your part, donât seem to realize thereâs anything out of the ordinary. Your face looks the same. The same annoyance that youâre trying your hardest to mask under a poor attempt at indifference. Trying to shake it off, Chan calls for Soonyoung to come into the office. But, that doesnât make it any better. Itâs worse, really, because your face immediately changes into one of genuine happiness. Soonyoung seems just as happy to see you and happy at the prospect of showing you around. To be fair, Soonyoung always seems happy when thereâs someone new around for him to chat with. Still, your face lighting up for him frustrates Chan in a way he canât explain.Â
Your first few times volunteering at the aquarium go really smoothly. Well, once youâre handed off to Soonyoung, itâs smooth. Thereâs just something about your new boss that you canât really put your finger on. Seeing him causes annoyance to flare within you. Itâs something deep that you canât really explain and canât recall feeling before. Thereâs no reason for you to dislike this man. Heâs really just a man, which shouldnât be enough on its own. Whenever heâs around, heâs perfectly friendly. Itâs obvious that he cares deeply for every living thing within the aquarium. This is something heâs incredibly passionate about, which should endear him to you. Yet, it doesnât. You canât recall ever disliking a fellow animal lover until now.Â
Thankfully, you donât really have to deal with Chan very often. Soonyoung handles your training when youâre working, but everyone that works there seems kind. And everyone seems young. The place is full of bright-eyed 20-somethings who all genuinely seem to want to be there. It contributes to that little nagging feeling in that back of your mind that something is justâŠoff. Not with anyone that works there apart from Chan, though.
Soonyoung seems delighted to see how quickly the otters warm up to you. Apparently, they can be a bit picky with new people. But, the first time you meet them, they all flock to you instead of their normal handler. Anyone else might be frustrated. Instead, he only thinks itâs cute that they seem to love you. Tells you that he thinks he means you're a good person. Apparently, he often judges people based on how the animals react. You both have that in common. It only seems to reinforce the point when this happens with each new enclosure you go to. None of the animals seem to treat you like a stranger. Itâs more like theyâre greeting an old friend. You canât really explain that you feel the same way. Your brain periodically supplies a story for some of your new animal friends, too. Itâs not the first time itâs happened and you figure it only makes sense in this setting. Your imagination is active and you love the sea creatures.
Each new visit to the aquarium seems somehow better than the last. Well, in most ways. You often feel Chanâs gaze on you before you even look over at him to check. And each time he is actually looking at you. Thereâs something that just sets your nerves on edge about it. Even the animals around you seem to react to the sudden surge of anger that courses through you. Itâs a strong physical reaction without any clear reason that you can figure out. Yet, itâs the way you feel every time you sense his attention on you.
âYou good?â Soonyoung asks, eyes cast down at your hands balled into fists.Â
âYeah, sorry,â you apologize, turning back to him. âWhat were you saying?âÂ
âWhatâs going on with you and Chan?â he asks skeptically.Â
âBetween Chan and me?â you ask with clear surprise.
âYeah,â he says. âHe spends half the time youâre here watching you andâŠâÂ
âHe does, doesnât he?â you ask, a little too loud. âWhatâs up with that?âÂ
âWhatâs up with your hatred for him?â he asks instead.
âI donât know, I just get a bad feeling,â you say after a moment. âDo you like him?âÂ
âDo I like the boss that overpays me to hang out with animals all day?â he asks with a laugh. Then, he looks at your face and carries on. âOh, youâre serious. Yeah, I love Chan. None of us really know him that well because he keeps his distance from the staff outside of work, mostly. But, heâs the best boss I can imagine having. I donât ever get bad vibes off him.âÂ
âHuh,â is all you say before turning back to whatever Soonyoung is teaching you.
Your eyes catch on the mysterious aquarium owner once again and that anger flares. But, you realize that itâs something more complicated than anger. Itâs far too complex an emotion to put a name too and definitely too complex for someone you barely know.Â
Itâs just odd you think, not for the first time, that someone seemingly so young is running an aquarium that doesnât seem to be that busy. How is he affording to take care of the animals and pay his staff so well? How is someone that seems so unlikeable able to convince so many donors to give money when it could be better spent elsewhere?
The nagging voice in the back of your mind reminds you that you seem to be the only person that doesnât love Chan. Everyone on the staff seems to love him. The few donors his staff have met also seem to only have good things to say. You have to consider the possibility that your feelings about him could be personal or that youâre seeing something that doesnât impact anyone else. Itâs still weird, though. Nothing about this business model should work. Is that a reason to hate someone you donât actually know? Youâre not sure.
Chan speaks with a dolphin that heâs grown to trust. No, not Chan. Poseidon. Heâs Poseidon again, in all his glory. And heâs asking the dolphin to find someone for him. Heâs explaining where she might be and what to say to her when the dolphin finds her. Stressing how important it is that the dolphin is the one to find her because theyâre not the only ones looking. There are others looking as well and Poseidon doesnât want them to find her. It would be bad, he knows, if anyone but himself or someone working on his behalf were to discover the truth. Heâs protecting her as much as heâs protecting himself. At least, thatâs what his brain insists. Whether itâs true or not, wellâŠ
The scene blurs and shifts. Poseidon is once again by the sea and this time speaking to a giant squid instead of the dolphin. The squid tells him that the woman has been found. That the dolphin succeeded and is currently speaking to her. That brings Poseidon a small sense of relief. Surely, when she understands the situation, sheâll be not only willing to come home but happy to do so. Nothing can keep them separated any longer. They are truly meant to be.Â
Again, the scene blurs and shifts. This time, Poseidon sits on his throne, trident in hand, while one of his brotherâs messengers kneels before him. When she rises, she delivers the message that Zeus has requested for Poseidon and his bride-to-be to join himself and Hera for an upcoming event. Thatâs not good, Poseidon thinks, not good at all. Surely his brother isnât fully aware of the situation and yet he sends his messengers with invitations like this. Just as Poseidon prepares himself to make an excuse, the door to the room opens. Usually, he doesnât allow interruptions, as his guards well know. But, the sight of his love walking through with her head held high keeps him from scolding the guards. He cannot believe that sheâs back and walking in as if nothing happened. As if it hasnât been weeks since they last saw each other. He got word she was coming back, but had not dared to hope for this.
âIâm so sorry to interrupt, my love, but I heard your brother had sent an invitation,â she begins. The messenger wonât notice the hesitation or the emotions that pour off of her because she doesnât have that gift. Poseidon feels it, though. It doesnât put him at ease
âItâs fine. You are always welcome to hear anything shared here with me,â he says quickly.Â
She turns to the messenger with her signature soft smile. âI would still apologize for interrupting your message. However, I heard that you were here with an invitation. I fear that my darling may have declined as I was recently suffering an illness.âÂ
âYes, that is what I was about to do,â Poseidon agrees.
âThere is no need for that as I have told you that I am feeling much better now,â she says with a brief, but calculated, smile at Poseidon. She returns to the messenger. âPlease inform Zeus that we would be delighted to join him.âÂ
âI am thankful to hear youâre feeling better and toâŠsee you with my own eyes,â the messenger says slightly suspiciously.Â
âI am also thankful that I will get to see Hera. After all, we have so much to discuss with the upcoming wedding,â his bride-to-be says.Â
With pleasant goodbyes, the messenger takes her leave and Poseidon excuses the guards remaining in the chamber. He indicates that his bride should follow him to a much smaller room off to the side so that they can speak. After all, there is so much to discuss after her running away and only to finally return. Yes, she had indicated to the messenger that she intended to go through with the wedding, but Poseidon needs answers. He needs to know why she left and to impress upon her that she could not do something like that again.Â
Chan wakes up in the early hours of the morning in a cold sweat from the most vivid dream heâs had in centuries. The fact that a dream lingers at all is strange on its own. He doesnât dream. Not anymore, at least. When he does, the subject is usually something inane and the remnants of it are gone by the time heâs fully awake. This dream is both vivid and lingering, seared into the back of his eyelids like it may never leave him. Perhaps it is because itâs not just a dream.
Thereâs a lot to Chanâs past that he wants to forget and for good reason. When he was one of the gods of Olympus, he made a lot of decisions that he wouldnât make now. Or, he likes to think he wouldnât make the same decisions now. Itâs hard to remember the feeling of the weight of the world so many years later. But, he knows he did a lot of things in the interest of finding the greater good. Something that ruined some of his closest relationships and clearly still haunts him today.Â
Which leads him to this dream. A dream of Amphitrite. The legends about the gods of Olympus over the years have gotten a lot of information both right and wrong. Unfortunately, the legend of Poseidon and Amphitrite seems mostly right, at least to Chan. She was the one true love of his life. The only being in the entire universe that he actually wanted to spend an eternity with. And he had not treated her the way he should have. Hadnât appreciated her and respected her autonomy the way he should have. Thatâs something he thinks about now, as he continues to mature and evolve to understand all the mistakes he made once upon a time. He knows that the way he tried to hold onto her was wrong and that he worried entirely too much about what the other Olympians would think if he lost her.Â
Thereâs also a part of him that lingers on the way she looked in the dream. He remembers that conversation because it actually happened. But, heâs not sure if heâs actually remembering the way she looked or the way he felt a tightness to his chest. That could just as easily be him looking back on the interaction through a different lens. There are so many things he wishes he could go back and change with her. So many things he wishes he could say. Mostly, even though he loved her more than he even loved himself, he wishes he could go back and give her the chance to walk away. To leave him without any sort of reprisal from the other Olympians.Â
After all these years, he regrets how their relationship went. It wasnât love when someone didnât have options. He knows that he canât change the past. He knows that he canât even ask for forgiveness. Itâs part of why he keeps himself from getting too close to anyone now, he thinks. As a sort of penance for forcing the only one he ever loved into a marriage that he canât say that she wanted. Of course, she told him when she came back it was because she wanted to. Insisted that she was just nervous to be thrust into such a spotlight by his side. Says that she was worried because he had other relationships with other people and she saw how it affected other Olympians, like Hera with Zeus. That wasnât who she ever wanted to turn into. Chan took her at what she said. It was only after he lost her that he realized it may not have been the truth. Their love may not have been the great story that he created in his head.Â
He knows that he wonât be able to fall back to sleep, so he resigns himself to starting his day. After he gets ready, he sits down with a cup of coffee and his schedule for the aquarium. Today is the once per month visit from the local marine veterinarians. Although miraculously, it seems the animals never need much care, the vets still come in every month. They collect samples and run their tests to ensure that everything is going well as a general health study. They have staff that come over more frequently for some of the animals that need more consistent care. Itâs also an excellent place to study since Chan allows them such complete access.Â
That monthly visit isnât what really catches his eye. Your name is on the schedule and Soonyoung has you listed as the person who will be working with the vets to make sure they have the help they need. Itâs standard, really, and Chan knows Soonyoung will be around as well. That man can never ignore a chance to chat with anyone that comes through regularly. Chan also knows that Soonyoung trusts you. Thereâs just something about your name that sends his stomach lurching without an explanation. Sure, you havenât exactly been the warmest in the interactions with Chan, but youâre good at the jobs assigned. Itâs like thereâs something just on the edge of his consciousness about you. Something just out of reach. A connection that he should be able to make and canât. At least, not yet.Â
Even though heâs going to be very early, he sets off for the aquarium and tries to shake the feeling that thereâs something about you he should see. Heâs never been very good when he canât solve a problem. You may present his most complex puzzle yet.Â
Itâs one of the best days since you first started volunteering at the aquarium. Somehow this is the first time youâve gotten to see the vets there for a full day and it even makes you extend your own shift. Well, itâs partially influenced by Soonyoungâs offer to buy dinner if youâre still there when he gets finished. Mostly, though, youâre just fascinated watching the vets do their work. Itâs interesting to see how willing the animals are to be still for tests and how it seems like they know what to expect. You know that animals are smart and they can learn. Thereâs something a little different about this, though. Not only do they seem to actually see the veterinarians, but they also actively wait their turns to be seen.Â
At the end of the day, youâre a little tired and feeling very accomplished at the same time. Maybe all of Soonyoungâs energy is actually infectious because you find that youâre ready to go get dinner with your friend after work. His presence is somehow calming to you even in all of the chaos. Once you make sure everything is done, you change into the spare clothes you have with you. The last thing you want is to smell like fish and whatever else got on you over the course of the day. Then, you go to find your friend.Â
âHey, are you ready for dinner?â you ask without realizing that heâs standing with Chan.
âYou guys have plans?â Chan asks with curiosity, looking from you back to Soonyoung.
Soonyoung looks incredibly apologetic. âIâm so sorry, but I completely forgot that itâs roomies night in and I canât skip it because I missed the last one.âÂ
âOh, thatâs fine,â you say quickly and wave it off.Â
âYou should come! We always have a bunch of appetizers and stuff. I canât remember what movie it is tonight, but itâll be fun!â he says, as enthusiastic as ever. âI know I offered to buy dinner tonightâŠâÂ
âI appreciate it, Soonie, but I think Iâm just going to get dinner and go home,â you say. âIâm going to hold you to your dinner offer, though.âÂ
âI was actually just about to go get something to eat myself,â Chan interrupts and you narrow your eyes. âI would be happy to get dinner for you as well as a thanks for everything youâve been doing here.âÂ
âI donât want to makeâŠâ you start, only to have Soonyoung cut across you.
âThatâs so nice of you, Chan,â he says and turns to you. âYou should go! Heâs got the best taste in restaurants. I still think about the last time he took all the staff out.âÂ
âItâs really fine, I can just get something on my way home,â you say.Â
âI insist,â Chan says with something unreadable on his face. âPlease. Let me say thank you for jumping in so completely.âÂ
âYeah, what reason could you have to say no?â Soonyoung asks with a smirk. Thatâs the other thing about your new friend. He can be such a shithead when he wants to be. Of course heâs using this to needle you about your dislike of the boss. It comes up at least once every time youâre at the aquarium (and plenty of times when youâre texting outside of work).
You sigh, knowing that thereâs no easy way to get out of this. âOkay, let me just get my things and Iâll meet you at the entrance.âÂ
The walk from the aquarium to Chanâs favorite restaurant is outwardly quiet. Itâs not entirely uncomfortable to walk in silence with you. Or, it wouldnât be if your emotions werenât screaming into the silence. The general annoyance that seems to be present any time Chan is in the same space as you comes through loudest. Thereâs more now that itâs just the two of you outside of work now, too. He feels a kind of anger and distrust coming off of you along with confusion about why you feel any of these emotions. It takes time to separate that as your own confusion because Chanâs also confused. The two of you barely interact at work and yet your distaste for him rolls off of you in violent waves, like an angry ocean. Itâs the only time heâs felt something like this from someone at work. Everyone else seems to like him at the very least. Something about you is very different.Â
Thankfully, itâs harder for Chan to sense you once you get into the restaurant. Itâs a little busier since itâs a weekend, but you still get seated right away. If youâre impressed with how Chan greets the staff like old friends, you donât show it. Just sit down in the chair and accept the menu with a smile before disappearing behind it. Suddenly, this doesnât really seem like the best idea. What does it matter if you donât like him?Â
âYou donât like me,â Chan announces a second later. He never has been able to let a mystery go unsolved. Heâs also always prided himself on being able to work out a puzzle. He tries not to ever be as arrogant as his brother, though.Â
That makes you peer across the table at him. When he thinks youâre not going to answer, you blurt out: âNo, I donât,â and seem genuinely surprised.
Chan chuckles and looks back at the menu. âAt least you admitted it.âÂ
âI really donât know why I just said that,â you carry on, setting your menu down.Â
âIs it not true?â Chan asks.Â
âNo,â you say and that makes Chan raise his eyebrows. âI mean, it is true. I donât really like you. Iâm just not sure whyâŠâ
âWhy you said it? Or why you donât like me?â he presses.
âBoth,â you say with a shrug.Â
âCan I ask you something?â he wonders.
âYou can,â you say. âIâm not gonna promise to answer if I donât want to.âÂ
âThatâs fair,â Chan says with a smile. âWhy do you volunteer at the aquarium if you donât like me?âÂ
âI like to be around the animals,â you say immediately. âI feel at peace.â
âYou misunderstood part of what I was asking,â he says. Your eyes are wide. âWhy not let me pay you if you donât like me? You could be making money instead of offering your time for free.âÂ
That actually makes you laugh. Not a fake polite laugh, one of the real laughs he hears when Soonyoung gets you going. Itâs a beautiful sound and it instantly reminds Chan of something. Or someone. Heâs not really sure beyond wanting to hear it again.Â
âYouâre kind of funny. Iâll give you that,â you concede.Â
âIâm glad you think so,â he says, eyes still glued to you.Â
âI donât know why it doesnât feel right to take money for working at the aquarium. It just doesnât,â you shrug. âItâs the first time in my life that Iâve ever really felt like I was where Iâm supposed to be and I probably sound crazy saying it. But, I get to the aquarium and my brain gets quiet and itâs like a weight lifts off my chest.â
âYou donât sound crazy,â is all Chan can say for a second.Â
Heâs looking at you differently now and heâs not even concerned if you realize it. Itâs like something clicks for him. Like he finally pinpoints what it is about you. Of course he didnât realize at first. Itâs so unbelievably uncommon that he never thought to look. But, thereâs no denying it. The way you are around the aquarium, the way you seem to slot in like youâve been there all along, the way he can read your emotions without trying.Â
This isnât your first life. Heâs only seen it a handful of times since Olympus fell. The main gods of Olympus, like himself, were able to seek refuge on Earth. Other beings were not so lucky. Many managed one or two reincarnations, but more still justâŠceased to exist. Itâs something he and some of the others spent a lot of time working through in the beginning. Itâs been over two hundred years since Chan came across a reincarnated soul. Yet, here you are. Sitting before him. Thereâs no mistaking it. Once upon a time, you had been a sea nymph in Olympus. Everything clicks into place when he acknowledges that. He knows the sea nymphs as well as he knows himself. It seems impossible that he wouldnât recognize all the signs and mannerisms. Then again, he hasnât come across a reincarnated sea nymph in a very long time. Centuries.Â
âAre you okay?â you ask after a few moments.Â
âYeah, sorry,â he says and shakes his head. This isnât the place to try to process this. âI just havenât met anyone that could relate to the way I feel in a long time.âÂ
âYou donât think Iâm crazy?â you ask, voice thick with hope. Itâs the first time heâs been around you without feeling any negative emotions.Â
âNot at all,â he assures you. âI should have known that you understood as well. I felt like you were a kindred spirit, butâŠâ
âIâve been cold?â you offer with a light laugh.Â
âCautious, I would say,â he disagrees.Â
âMaybe we should just start over,â you suggest and that makes Chan smile.Â
Dinner actually gets much livelier from there on out. Realizing your past allows Chan to entirely change his approach. Without saying anything before youâre ready, he lets his guard down. In doing so, he hopes that some part of you will realize the connection runs deep. It seems to work, even if itâs only a little. Curiosity becomes the most prominent emotion and he capitalizes on it.Â
Chan is able to suggest some of the dishes that he really likes before you ask if you can just get a few things and share them. Youâre asking questions about the aquarium and his life that he tries to answer in a way that sounds honest without inviting follow up questions. Instead, he finds himself wanting to know more about you. Despite your initial reluctance to talk too much about yourself, he gets you to open up to his questions. Each answer you give draws him in further. Gives more of a glimpse into you as a person. Nothing feels too small to learn. He wants to map each of your reactions to things you actually love to things that seem difficult to speak about.Â
Before either of you realizes it, itâs been over two hours and the restaurant is starting to wind down. Of course, nobody rushes you since Chan knows everyone there by name. But, you still insist itâs probably best to head out. Surprisingly, heâs still only picking up on warmer emotions from you now and maybe that makes him a little bolder.Â
âThereâs this really great ice cream shop just a little walk that way,â he says as youâre exiting the restaurant.Â
The sideways look you give him leaves him wondering if heâs misread the situation. Then, youâre smiling like you know a secret. âIâm shocked you eat dessert.âÂ
âAre youâŠare you checking me out?â he splutters. Very little manages to catch him off guard and you have him stumbling over a simple question.Â
Without answering, you just laugh and start walking in the direction he indicated. When he doesnât immediately follow, you look over your shoulder and call out to him. âWell? I thought we were getting ice cream.â
âYou canât just say shit like that and expectâŠâ he starts as he hurries to catch up with you.
âExpect what?â you ask, actually poking out at his side. âI would bet my entire life savings that Iâm not the first person to check you out.â
âOh, so you were checking me out,â he says like heâs just won.Â
âI think thatâs only fair with how many times Iâve already caught you checking me out,â you fire back, effectively wiping the smug look of Chanâs face.Â
Itâs been a long time since someone challenged him the way you seem to. Now that youâre talking openly, it feels like heâs known you for years. Thereâs a comfort that he canât remember feeling in centuries. It feels like you just implicitly understand a piece of them that he tries to hide in any other situation.Â
Something whispers from the back of his mind, like a tickle of familiarity. He ignores it, though, in favor of getting to know the incredibly interesting person before him that doesnât seem to hate him anymore.Â
After having dinner with Chan, you start to look forward to your shifts for an entirely different reason. Yes, you still get the peace that comes along with being around so many beautiful animals and so much water. You also get to feel the pleasant shift of feelings when Chan is around. Instead of feeling like something gnaws at your consciousness, now you feel a warmth coursing through your body. Itâs a little strange, too, because itâs like nothing youâve ever felt before.Â
Soonyoung notices the way you and Chan gravitate towards each other now and says nothing despite the knowing smile. You donât have to ask him to know that he thinks itâs down to him insisting you get dinner together. He doesnât comment, though, and youâre not going to give him the satisfaction. Itâs hard to stop yourself from smiling, even when that makes Soonyoung smile even harder. Itâs like he wants all the details of something that you donât have many details on. At least, not at first.Â
Hanging out with Chan outside of the aquarium becomes a regular thing, even on the days that you donât go in. Each of you shows the other your favorite places in the area and you find yourself looking forward to that time more than anything else. Once or twice, you even consider asking Chan if heâs got a more full time position for you at the aquarium. You donât quite realize youâre not living fully until something like this happens and so much more of life opens up before you. For now, though, youâll settle for dragging him to a couple of food trucks that you love. He looks entirely out of place in his slacks and dress shirt, though at least heâs rolled up his sleeves.Â
âSo when are you going to come work with us full time,â he asks after sitting down with his food in front of him. He doesnât ask you to work for him. Even his phrasing is considerate.
âOh, well, IâŠâ you stutter out.
âYou donât have to, of course,â he assures you. âIâve just never met anyone thatâs better at it than you and youâre not even there that oftenâÂ
âI have been considering it,â you admit.Â
âWhatâs holding you back?â he asks.Â
You take a bite to give yourself a minute to think about the answer to that. What is holding you back? Admittedly, youâve never felt more at ease anywhere else. Itâs increasingly harder to leave every time your shift is over. You look forward to when the next one will be. Have even added extra shifts when you can fit them in. Thereâs a part of you that also looks forward to seeing Chan. Although, you know that you could see him whenever you wanted. He always seems to make time for you.Â
âI donât know,â you finally say.
âWell, thereâs a position waiting for you if you ever want it,â he says with a look on his face that you canât quite read.Â
âWhy are you so patient with me?â you ask.
âBecause we understand each other,â he answers a little too quickly.Â
âItâs more than that,â you press, feeling, for the first time, like heâs keeping something from you.Â
Chan sighs and sets his food down. âIt is, but this isnât the place to discuss it.âÂ
That catches you a little off guard. Thinking that there was more to the story and having him admit it so easily were two different things. âYouâre not secretly in love with me or something, are you?â
He laughs at the look on your face and it eases a little of the tension. âI donât think itâs a secret that I love being around you.âÂ
âNo, I guess thatâs true,â you say with your own laugh.Â
âYouâre going to think Iâm crazy, but Iâll tell you when we finish eating and we can leave. This kind of thingâŠwell, itâs best to say to you somewhere thatâs not so out in the open.â
That announcement surprises you, but it also excites you a little. Itâs difficult not to rush through dinner, a fact that Chan picks up on and laughs about. Makes a joke about wanting to get him alone that has color rising on your cheeks. Thereâs an air of confidence about him despite whatever heâs going to share with you. It makes it a little easier for you to also be calm because it canât be that bad. If it were bad, he would not seem so confident.Â
After dinner, and a short back and forth, he takes you back to his apartment, which includes walking by the aquarium. Somehow, youâre still much more nervous than he seems to be. It seems like the most natural thing in the world for him to invite you back to see where he lives. He also seems quick to assure you that itâs not that heâs trying to get you alone. It just needs to be a space that is actually private.Â
Despite any better judgment you may have, your curiosity is piqued. What is it that he has to say to you that others canât overhear? Is he about to admit some crazy belief? Or tell you that somehow you were destined to meet? Youâre not really sure what sort of comment might come once the two of you are alone, but youâre distracted the second you step into his apartment. Itâs amazingly decorated. It feels both cozy and modern at the same time. It also feels so impossibly like him and the ocean combined into one. Maybe thatâs saying the same thing. He does give you the impression of the water sometimes.Â
Being inside of Chanâs personal space also feels surprisingly natural. He disappears off into the kitchen without a second thought and allows you to look around the space. When he returns, itâs with a drink for you as he encourages you to take a seat on his couch. Itâs the most comfortable couch youâve ever sat down on.
âHow much do you know about the Gods of Olympus?â he asks without any preamble. Thankfully, you havenât taken a drink yet. Otherwise, you might have spit it out.
âLike the stuff from mythology?â you ask. Itâs so unexpected.
A little voice whispers in the back of your head asking if itâs really that unexpected. The truth is: youâve always been incredibly fascinated by the myths. Thereâs a draw to them almost to the point of getting lost in them. But, are you going to admit that youâve read all the books you could find and watched all the shows or movies? Itâs only fantasy, really, when you think about it. Youâve bared a lot of your soul to Chan without meaning to. Youâre not sure you want him to laugh at you about this. That same little voice comes back to ask if he would laugh. Youâre not so sure.
âNot exactly,â he says with a knowing laugh. âYou consume it though, donât you? I can see it on your face.âÂ
âI - well, lots of people do, donât they?â you ask noncommittally.Â
âNot like you, Iâd bet,â he answers, unbothered.Â
âI guess itâs a bit of a guilty pleasure,â you finally admit.Â
âI think itâs more than that,â Chan presses.Â
âHow can it be? Theyâre just myths after all,â you say.
âDo you believe that?â he asks and itâs like heâs challenging every one of your long held notions.Â
âChan, what did you want to tell me?â you ask.
âLet me tell you about Olympus as I remember it,â he says.Â
âAs youâŠremember it,â you say slowly. âChan, whatâŠâ
âJust hear me out and let me tell you a story. You can decide afterwards if Iâm crazy or if it makes everything fall into place,â he says.Â
And he does tell you a story. Itâs a story about the Gods of Olympus with more information thrown in than youâve ever read in any story or seen in any movie. Itâs at once more fantastical and somehow more believable than anything. There are parts that you recognize. Parts that seem to line up with the stories. And there are parts that feel entirely new. Parts that are deeply emotional and clearly difficult for Chan to say. You delight in the way his face lights up when he talks about the parties or living amongst the sea animals. Completely accept it at face value when he tells you about how his scouts used to be dolphins and how much he misses that. Your heart breaks when he talks about the fights with his siblings and the other Olympians. It all feels like youâre walking along beside him in his stories.Â
Itâs insane to think that any of this could be real. You keep telling yourself as you listen to the stories. But, itâs hard to remember that when you see the look on Chanâs face. Thereâs fondness when he talks about some of the sillier memories. Like he canât believe that anyone was ever that ridiculous. Thereâs genuine pain as he tries to get through the more complicated parts. When it comes time to tell you about how Olympus fell, he chokes up.Â
You believe him. Itâs like something shifts and you can tell that heâs not crazy. Heâs not delusional. Heâs not on some crazy conspiracy theory. He was Poseidon once upon a time. The feelings of calm that you feel every time you walk into the aquarium wash over you. Like this is the only thing thatâs ever made sense. That should be a little disorienting to take in all that information. Instead it feels like the most natural thing in the world.
Chan isnât even done talking when you lean over and press your lips against his. Youâre not even sure why you do it or if itâs the right thing to do. When you go to pull away, he puts his hand behind your head and holds you against him. Kisses you breathless like nobody has ever kissed you before. It feels instantly familiar and new all at the same time. Like something you may have done before. But, it also sends sparks flying through your entire body.Â
âSo, should I carry on with telling you how you fit into all of this?â he asks when the two of you break apart from the kiss.Â
âMe?â you ask, still recovering from the impulsive act of kissing him.Â
âYes, you,â he says with a soft smile.Â
âIâm just a person lucky enough to meet an actual god, what could IâŠâ you start.
âYouâre not just a person,â he contradicts with a frown.
âIâm not trying to diminish myself or anything,â you assure him, but he still shakes his head.
âCan I talk?â he asks without any exasperation, though you may deserve it. You just nod. âYouâre not just a person. YouâreâŠwell, Iâm not sure how it works, really. Iâve come across it so infrequently. You have the reincarnated soul of a sea nymph within you. Possibly even one I encountered in another life.âÂ
âHow can that be?â you ask with wide eyes. âNo, Iâm just a normal person, IâŠâÂ
âIf you think about it, it actually makes perfect sense,â he says and carries on.
It sounds so simple when he outlines it for you. He asks you about your connection with the ocean, talks about your instant familiarity with the aquarium and how at peace you feel. Points out that you never feel at peace in a swimming pool, though youâre sure youâve never said that to him. He talks about your mood shifting when youâre away from the water for too long or the way that everything about the water just seems easier. He even laughs when you admit that once when you were on vacation, a dolphin came right up to you in the ocean and seemed like it wanted your attention. Itâs also not the only time something like that happened.Â
Everything starts to fall into place. Itâs like decoding the last little cypher of your life up until that point and showing you memories in a different light. You wonder if youâll be able to remember anything from being a sea nymph and Chan looks apologetic when he says he doesnât think itâll work like that. But, he admits heâs never gotten close enough to another reincarnated soul like this to fully be able to answer it. The excitement drowns out a small voice in the back of your head thatâs urging you to move cautiously. Urging you to consider if all of this really sounds right.Â
You canât really help the way your bodies seem to be drawn to each other. Many more kisses follow now that the invisible barrier seems broken. When heâs not kissing you, Chan runs his hands along whatever part of you that he can reach.Â
Eventually, you donât really want to talk. It seems absentminded, the way that Chan runs his fingers along your arm or squeezes your thigh. Itâs driving you insane, though, and you need to know if heâs feeling as bothered as you are.Â
âHow much are you paying attention to this conversation?â you ask.
âUhâŠâ he says, eyes widening a bit at the question. Itâs the first time heâs looked remotely out of control.Â
âYouâre driving me crazy,â you whine and look at his hand gripping your thigh.Â
That causes his look to change entirely. Heâs not out of control anymore. Now he looks a bit smug. âOh, Iâm driving you crazy?â
âYes,â you admit without a second thought.
âI thought you werenât even sure if you liked me?â he presses and you huff out a breath.
âI already kissed you, Chan. I think itâs clear Iâm not on the fence anymore,â you say.
âMaybe I should show you my bedroom,â he says and stands.
You take his outstretched hand without hesitation. âFinally.âÂ
The two of you get through the doorway into his bedroom and he doesnât even bother pretending to give you a tour. He only turns around to face you, crowding your space and forcing you back into the doorframe. He takes your face in his hands and kisses you hard. Itâs not desperate, itâs perfectly controlled. Nobody has ever kissed you like this before. At least nobody that you can remember. His body presses tight against yours until youâre gasping for breath. Still, he doesnât let you relax. Heâs proving a point. If you thought he was driving you crazy earlier, itâs nothing to this.Â
You gasp into his mouth when he moves a hand to hitch one of your legs around his hip. Gasp again when he does the same to your other leg and heâs balancing you against the doorframe. It seems impossible that heâs this strong. Maybe thatâs part of being a god because he also barely seems to lose his breath as he keeps kissing you. Youâre not usually so content to let someone else lead, but itâs so easy with him. It helps that nothing is frantic. Even though heâs driving you crazy, you love that it doesnât feel rushed. Love that heâs really taking his time with you.
It could be minutes that Chan kisses you or it could be hours and youâre not really sure if you would know the difference. When he sets you down, it feels like an immediate loss. At least until he pulls you towards the bed. Only his eyes give away how badly he wants you. Theyâre dark with lust that youâre sure your own eyes reflect back at him.Â
âIs this still okay?â he asks, voice thick with desire. You nod. âI need to hear you say it.â
âYes, Chan. I want this,â you assure him.Â
Thankfully itâs the only reassurance that he needs. He gently pushes you back onto his bed and immediately gets to work pulling your clothing off you. His eyes drink in every mark on your body and for the first time, youâre not self conscious. You donât feel like thereâs something wrong with you and it has nothing to do with the way he looks at you. Though, it doesnât hurt that his desire only grows as he peels your clothing off. No, thereâs just this inexplicable comfort with him. That voice in the back of your head quiets. Youâre not sure if itâs because youâre so in the moment or because this is actually right. Youâre not really sure it matters.Â
When Chan steps back from you, you have the briefest moment of insecurity. Itâs gone the next moment when he starts to undo the buttons on his shirt. Actually, your entire mind goes blank. If Chan was beautiful with clothes on, itâs nothing to seeing him removing his shirt. You know that he can change his appearance at will and know that itâs how heâs fit into places this long. So, you know that it might not be entirely him, but youâre not sure you care. Your eyes travel over the scars he still has. Probably remnants of real scars over the years. Somehow the imperfections make him more perfect in your eyes. Youâre so caught up in looking at the scars that you miss him removing the rest of his clothing until heâs approaching you.
âSit back,â he instructs.
You do as he asks without even thinking twice about it. That, at least, makes a voice stir in the back of your mind. Makes you wonder why youâre so content to do as he asks. When he climbs onto the bed and settles between your legs, the voice goes quiet again. He peppers up your leg and down the other with feather light kisses. He doesnât draw out the build up, though.Â
Chan runs a finger carefully through your folds and it makes you shudder. He watches your body carefully as he does it again, like heâs trying to map your reactions to everything. Like he wants to know exactly how to make you come undone. Itâs such a simple action that works you up. When he licks into your pussy, you think itâs your new favorite feeling. It makes your entire brain go fuzzy. You donât even realize that youâre arching your back until one of his hands snakes up your stomach to press you back into place.Â
Itâs almost too much, the way he works you over. Heâs constantly changing the pace and his movements. His mouth moves up to suck on your clit and his finger moves down to pump into your pussy in lazy motions. The contrast of the movements makes you squirm. When you feel like youâre getting close to an orgasm, he switches it up again and pulls you back from the edge. Over and over again. He keeps switching up his attention every time you feel yourself getting close.Â
âChan, oh my fucking god,â you groan. âIâm going to die if you donât let me come.âÂ
âWell, you got one thing right,â he says, pulling away from your pussy. âI am a god.â
âI hate you,â you say without any heat.
He pulls himself up your body so that heâs hovering over you, entirely too close. You can see the way your juices cover his lips. He eyes you greedily and itâs the hottest thing in the world. Itâs even hotter when he lets you pull him down on top of you and kiss him. You moan into his mouth when he ruts his hard length against your thigh.Â
When he pulls back, you know that you lost whatever game youâre playing. âDoesnât seem like you hate me.âÂ
âJust please fuck me,â you say, completely breathless.Â
âAnything you want,â he says.Â
You gasp when he leans forward again to capture your lips in a bruising kiss. Everything about him seems so in control. Yet, you can feel how much he wants you, too. Itâs obvious that youâre not alone in wanting this and that heâs just better at controlling the situation.Â
Somehow, as heâs kissing you, he manages to spread your legs apart underneath him. Itâs embarrassing the way you chase his lips when he pulls back. Or it would be if you didnât meet his eyes to see all the desire reflecting back at you. He repositions so that heâs between your legs again and lines himself up at your entrance. Chan runs his tip through your folds while he watches for your reaction. Itâs all you can do to stop yourself from wiggling to urge him to work faster. Nothing he does is fast, though, and why would this be any different. Slowly, he presses himself into you. Even as youâre begging him for more, he inches into you instead of snapping his hips forward.Â
Finally, after what seems like minutes (and is probably only seconds), heâs fully buried and itâs the best feeling in the world. Your fingertips dig into his shoulders as he adjusts his position. Then, he pulls almost all the way about before snapping back in and your mind goes blank again. Like nothing else exists apart from the two of you, the sound of his skin on yours, and the words shared between you. Praise spills from Chanâs lips as youâre just asking for more and more of him.Â
This time, he doesnât bring you right to the edge only to pull you back. He picks up his pace and has you coming so hard that you see stars without warning. Youâre so thankful that you donât immediately realize that he doesnât pull out of you. He stills himself inside you and peppers gentle kisses all over your face as you work through the orgasm.Â
Heâs definitely not so gentle once the aftershocks work through your body.Â
In one motion, he has you in his arms and in a completely different position. Itâs a level of strength and speed youâre not expecting. Youâre sitting up now and about to protest that you donât have the energy to fuck him like this, when he does the work for you. Even though youâre straddling his lap, he plants his feet and thrusts into you. Itâs a slightly slower pace than youâre expecting. Just enough that you feel the tension building, but not enough for it to do anything. At least for you. Youâre not sure about Chan.Â
You canât help it. All you want to do is kiss him so that he knows how good this feels. Not that he really needs more of an indication. You think he can probably read your body pretty well. The first time with someone new is usually awkward. This has been anything but. He knows exactly what you need and just how far he can push you before itâs too much.
And that really does seem true. Youâre just about to go into overstimulated territory when he changes the position again. You get the briefest of breaks for him to settle behind you. It could be as innocent as cuddling until he hikes your leg up and presses his length into you without warning.
âChan, jesus fuck,â you cry out.Â
âYouâre being so good for me, baby,â he coos into your ear. âCan you be good for just a little longer?â
âYes,â you pant.Â
âEven if I fuck you hard?â he asks, experimentally picking up his pace.
âYes, please, justâŠfuck,â you yell out as he snaps into you harder.
âSo perfect,â he murmurs into your skin.Â
His thrusts immediately get faster and you can tell heâs ready to stop dragging it out. Heâs still doing more than his share of the work and itâs insane to realize how much stamina he seems to have. The new angle allows him to hit you deeper than before. Youâre already so worked up that itâs not long before heâs pushing you into your second orgasm. This time, he follows right behind you, erratically thrusting as his breath stutters by your ear.Â
He collapses behind you, but still holds you close against his chest. Your breathing matches his without even thinking about it. Neither one of you really needs to say anything to know that it was something completely unexpected. You canât remember ever having better sex than with him. Leave it to Chan to ruin you for anyone else that could possibly try to come after him.
Eventually, Chan pulls himself out and off the bed. He holds out his hand to help you into the bathroom with him. You make a joke about how you donât have another round in you and his smile is instant. His features go soft when he says he just wants to help you clean up.Â
(That doesnât hold true for the next morning since he insists you should sleep over. You may be incredibly sore afterwards. You also know that you donât care. In that moment, you think you would let Chan fuck you senseless for the rest of your life without complaining. Who cares if youâre a little sore? Youâve never felt so connected to someone in your entire life. And he just happens to be one of the gods of Olympus.)
Things seem to fall into place quickly for you and Chan after he shares his past with you. Itâs like the last two puzzle pieces in an absurdly complicated puzzle. One of those ones where the pieces arenât in the standard square shapes. Yet, now that youâre perfectly slotted together, itâs like youâve been that way your whole lives. The two of you are together more often than youâre not. Late nights exploring or staying up until the early hours of the morning talking. Lazy mornings wrapped up in the covers of the bed (where you actually get Chan to spend more time away from the aquarium than he ever has before). Chan doesnât even really have time to overthink anything.
His biggest win comes when you finally admit that youâre ready to leave your boring job and come to work at the aquarium full time. That only takes a few weeks after he tells you that you were a sea nymph in a former life. Heâs still even a little at the complete lack of pushback on it. You accept it just as easily as you accept that he was Poseidon once upon a time. And youâre not accepting it in the way someone does to pacify a crazy person. That much is clear with how much more time you spend anywhere that Chan is. Somehow, the rest of Chanâs staff doesnât even seem to comment on how quickly you become inseparable. Soonyoung seems to be smiling even more than usual (a feat Chan didnât think possible). But, otherwise everyone just accepts the new normal. Everyone seems thrilled to have you around more permanently and that makes Chanâs heart constrict.Â
He doesnât have time to think about any of it. Until he does, very suddenly, think about all the feelings you bring up in him.
Chan is careful with relationships. Heâs friendly with his staff, but theyâre not really friends (despite Soonyoungâs best efforts). He doesnât get to know anyone at any of the places he shops or have any hobbies where he interacts with people. It can get lonely if Chan thinks too closely about it, but what is the alternative? Peopleâs lives are finite, measurable. Chanâs is not. At least, it hasnât been yet. There are no signs heâs slowing down over the many centuries heâs been through. Then thereâs you. You who are very much human. Though, itâs been a long time since heâs come across another reincarnated Olympian. There isnât a rule book for how those lives go and thereâs never been one that Chan stuck by long enough to find out.Â
The real question, though, is whether heâs willing to stick around this time to see how it works. Is he willing to risk everything only to figure out that youâre merely a mortal? That youâre going to fall victim, if youâre lucky, to the curse all humans succumb to? Thatâs if youâre lucky enough to live to old age and something else doesnât happen before then. Human life is so fragile. Itâs a lot to process. More so since heâs not really talking to you about how heâs feeling.Â
You notice. Of course you notice. Chan starts to get a little more distant as weeks turn into months. Heâs still physically present with you and he still tries to act like everything is fine. But, he can feel it in the shift of your moods. Doubt creeps in and he gets snippets of your feelings or even your thoughts. It isnât fair and he knows that itâs not. He knows he has to talk to you instead of just acting like everything is normal.Â
âAre you ready to talk to me yet?â you ask one evening when youâre sitting on his couch with your feet in his lap.Â
He stops scrolling through something on his phone and looks over at you. Somehow, you always seem to know when itâs best to apply just a little pressure. Knows his moods and senses when heâs ready to talk about something. Thereâs no use in acting like he doesnât know what you mean.
âItâs nothing youâve done,â he starts and you smile.
âOh, I know that,â you assure him. That makes him laugh. Itâs you all over.Â
âItâs justâŠI donât usually let myself get close to anyone,â he starts and your eyebrows knit in confusion.
âBit late for that, isnât it?â you say with an attempt at a joke, though it doesnât quite land.
âI think we both know youâre special,â he says quickly to reassure you. âItâs justâŠwell, thereâs a reason for that. Human life is so fleeting.â
âAh, yes,â you say with a wry smile, âbecause youâre ancient.â
âEnough,â he chastises without any real heat.Â
âSorry,â you say and throw up your arms.
âI am kind of ancient, though. Not in this body since Iâm always changing forms, but in mind. Iâve been around a long time and youâŠâ he says and trails off.
âYouâre so sure I have an expiration date?â you ask.
âYouâre human,â he says simply.
âAnd also have the soul of a reincarnated sea nymph,â you remind him. As if he could ever forget.Â
âI know,â he concedes. âBut I donât know what that means for yourâŠâ
âLife expectancy?â you offer. Thereâs something almost detached and also calming about the way you say it. âYou canât say for sure that I wonât live beyond a normal human life, either.â
âNo, I canât,â he says. âIâve never wanted to stick around another reincarnated soul the way I canât seem to let you out of my sight.â
âDoesnât that mean itâs worth at least considering?â you ask.Â
Thereâs nothing desperate or emotional about the way you approach the conversation. Itâs all based in fact and the information in front of you. As much as you and Chan like to go out on dates, you also like to sit with him while he tries to do research. Both of you want to understand what your soul means for the rest of your body. You want to understand why sometimes he can feel your mood or even hear some of your louder thoughts. Itâs fun when you can control it and send something disruptive towards Chan. Fun for you, at least. He doesnât always appreciate the image of what you want to do to him while heâs trying to do something at work.Â
So, you go through all the knowns with him again. Go over everything that youâve learned. Go through the questions you have unanswered and where there might be more information. You talk things through logically in a way that feels familiar to him. Chan finds himself getting lost in his amazement at your brain and the way you process information. Itâs also incredible to him to watch you work through a problem. It lulls him into a place that he hasnât been in sinceâŠ
And thatâs when it clicks. Thatâs when he realizes. Youâre not just a reincarnated sea nymph. No, itâs much deeper than that. He knows your soul more intimately than he knows his own. He canât believe that he didnât see it right away. Canât believe heâs had you in his bed for months now without realizing.
âYouâre not listening anymore,â you comment. You donât seem upset, only curious. Itâs like you want to know where his mind goes.
âNo, Iâm sorry,â he says and you wave it off. âItâs just, well, I figured out who you used to be.âÂ
âUh,â you say, clearly missing a piece. âYeah? A reincarnated sea nymph? Weâve already covered this.âÂ
âNo,â he disagrees. That makes you raise your eyebrows. âWell, you are, but youâre also more than that. Your soul, itâsâŠâ
âWhat is it, Chan?â you ask, full attention focusing on him.Â
âI should have known. You feel so familiar, like Iâve known you for years,â he says and itâs like heâs talking to himself. âItâs not just some ordinary sea nymphâs soulâŠâ
âYes, because sea nymphs are so ordinary,â you say with a scoff. âLike people every day are just coming across sea n-â
âItâs Amphitriteâs soul,â he finishes and that stops you mid sentence. Your eyes lock onto his, wide and wondering.Â
âAmphitrite? As in Goddess of the sea, most prominent of the sea nymphs and wife ofâŠâ she says and canât seem to finish the sentence.
âPoseidon. The one true love of my life, yes,â he says.Â
If you think anything of him referring to Amphitrite as the one true love of his life, you donât say anything. You go into a contemplative silence. Like if you think hard enough, you may be able to remember her or the relationship with Poseidon. Who knows? Maybe you can. Try as he might, Chan canât seem to think of a single instance where something like this has happened before. Doesnât remember someone like Hera returning in this way. He also canât think of any reason why you would return now, after all this time. Unless this is just the first time heâs found you. There are far more questions than answers.Â
âThisâŠchanges things,â you say.
âDoes it?â he asks.Â
âDoesnât it?â you immediately return.Â
âI donât know,â he admits. âItâs like it suddenly makes sense in a way I wasnât expecting. But, it also feelsâŠmore complicated.âÂ
âComplicated, how? I mean, you were in love with Amphitrite and I assume she, or I, was also in love with you,â you say. âDoesnât that explain this pull we have to each other?âÂ
âOur relationship was incredibly complicated,â he says softly. âI haveâŠmany regrets about how I handled things when it came to her. And I also canât wrap my brain around her reappearing after so many years or what that means for you.â
âWhy donât we just start at the beginning? Tell me about your relationship,â you prompt.
âThere are parts that were ugly,â he says without meeting your eye.Â
The couch shifts and dips as you get closer to him. You lift his chin up gently so heâs looking at you. âThe fact that you can admit parts were ugly or that you have regrets shows youâve learned. So, tell me the whole story and then weâll go from there.âÂ
So, he starts talking.Â
It starts at the beginning. He was at a celebration when he saw Amphitrite dancing among the other Nereids, the daughters of Nereus, who was also known as the Old Man of the Sea. There had been other consorts before her, but he was instantly smitten. She symbolized everything beautiful and kind about the sea. Everything that he could ever want. So, he approached her father before ever approaching her and asked for her hand. Her father was, understandably, thrilled. It seemed like there was no better match than to allow Poseidon himself to marry one of his daughters. In hindsight, that was absolutely the wrong way to go about it. She should have been given a say in her own life rather than treated like property by her father and the man who claimed to love her.Â
Chan talks about what he can remember of their courtship as honestly as he can. From his perspective, everything went wonderfully. After all, why shouldnât she have been thrilled that he wanted to marry her. Once he had nothing but time to think back on what he had done, he realized that she had not seemed all that interested. It was more like she was going through the motions because she had to. He tried to include her in everything that he could so she would see what her life could be like. Maybe that had been the wrong choice. But, she was a natural when it came to hosting or offering opinions in meetings. At the time, it made him happy to see how well she settled in. Now, it just felt like she had been forced into a life she never wanted.
As the wedding itself got closer, she fled to the far reaches of the ocean. It was a dolphin scout of his that finally managed to find her. He never knew what his scout said to her that made her return. He only knew what he told the scout. They never spoke about it once she came back. She simply returned, assured him she had only been nervous about how important he was, and said she wanted to get married still. So, he also acted like nothing happened, which he knows was as wrong as he could have been. He does think that he tried to be a better partner to her after that, though heâs not sure he succeeded. When he had to make decisions between what might be best for her and what might be best for his position, he chose himself. He also chose the sea over her when he had to make those choices. It was never fair to her.Â
Somehow, through all of that, he did really grow to love her. He valued her beyond what he showed. He appreciated her for her unfailing kindness and her insistence when she knew she was right. He appreciated her wit and her mind. He appreciated the way that she was never afraid to tell him what she thought or to let him know when he was making the wrong decision. He appreciated that she didnât just bend over backwards for him or fawn over him. He only realized after she was gone that he never appreciated her the way that she deserved to be appreciated. Once he lost her, he realized that he should have done anything in the world to protect her. He realized he should have given her the entire sea and made her the ruler because she was far smarter than he had realized.Â
You only listen intently without interrupting. In the few moments where Chan looks at you, he struggles to figure out what youâre thinking. Not that you wonât tell him. He knows you will. Itâs just very daunting to speak that long without you interjecting. When he stops speaking, youâre still quiet for a moment.Â
âI thinkâŠChan, I think Iâm starting to remember,â you say with wide eyes.Â
And thatâs the last thing he expects to hear. He figures you may tell him that heâs horrible for putting someone he claims to have loved through that. Or you could say that it sounds far-fetched to think sheâs not just a sea nymph, but a specific nymph that he was deeply in love with. He doesnât expect for you to look at him in wonder and say youâre remembering. Thatâs another unknown in this entire mess of a situation.Â
Before he can consider if this is something that should even be possible, your lips crash into his. There are so many emotions behind that kiss that he canât begin to process. Thereâs longing and a long-forgotten love. Thereâs excitement about returned memories. Thereâs the sparks that always fly between you two. The mix of the established feelings with ones Chan never expected to feel again is startling. So, he just lets his mind wander. He lets the feeling of kissing you consume him so thoroughly that it pushes any other conversation out the window. All that exists in that moment is the two of you, however you want to define that.Â
The excitement of finding out a long forgotten identity wears off far quicker than you expect it to. Not that you have any frame of reference for this sort of thing. But, surely it should last longer than this. Longer than it takes for you to fall into bed with Chan again. Longer than it takes for him to worship your body as heâs done before and for him to bring you to an orgasm so good it has you screaming. Somehow, in the post-sex haze, he doesnât realize that youâre quieter than usual. Perhaps thatâs a blessing. He kisses you so softly, so sweet and tells you that heâs going to do some research. Thatâs fine, you insist, because you want to get back home to really get a good nightâs sleep. It seems unspoken that he wants to let you process.
ButâŠwell, youâre not really sure if youâre still okay with the information. Itâs like having sex this time triggered a new flood of memories. Some come across as clearly as if it was something you directly experienced. Others come through more as feelings than anything else. And itâs a lot. Overwhelming in a way that nothing else has been. Itâs how you expected to react to finding out that all those myths you were so drawn to were actually real. That feels easy to accept, especially now. Remembering is something else entirely. Because remembering Amphitriteâs experiences as your own just feels complicated.Â
Maybe itâs wrong to think of her as a separate person if her soul lives within you. That part isnât hard to accept, not when you can feel it. The hard part is accepting the feelings about Chan. The memory pushes back on you calling him that. Accepting is also the wrong word. The hard part is reconciling the person youâve gotten to know with the memories that come flooding back.Â
Then, almost as if on cue, that whispering voice returns. It reminds you of how you felt when you first met Chan. Of the distaste you had without being able to place it. Which is true, isnât it? You didnât like him without any reason beyond just a feeling. The voice presses memories onto you. Things you actually experienced with Chan mixed in with scenes between Poseidon and Amphitrite. The more you see, the more it feels like your own memories. Like something that you took part in directly.Â
Itâs putting it mildly to say that things are complicated. There is clear affection there for the person that Amphitrite got to know. Although itâs clear she did not love Poseidon from the beginning, she grew into much stronger feelings. Yet, she canât separate those fully. She canât say for sure that the feelings would develop on their own. Did she just love him? Or was it because she, at times, had little contact with anyone outside their palace? Though, that was largely her own choice as things went on. There were too many things to do at home to leave. And there was too much unrest.
Yes, it feels complicated. Now your own memories or the past few months mingle with decades of memories from someone else. You canât decide if you want to push your own memories aside to make room for the returning ones or keep them side by side. Your new memories donât really seem to fit, though. Which isnât surprising. The person you know isnât the same one that Amphitrite knew. Heâs grown in ways that she can scarcely understand or imagine. Heâs thoughtful and considerate and much more mature. That doesnât sit perfectly with the memories. Although, you can tell that thereâs a part of the lingering voice that appreciates the growth. Maybe even feels a little responsible for it. Wants to believe that sheâs part of the reason he made the changes.Â
By the time you make it back to your apartment, your head feels like itâs going to split open. Youâre no closer to any answers about what you want to do. No closer to reconciling incredibly complex feelings. No closer to the next step. Thatâs fine, though. All you can really do now is let yourself drift off to sleep and revisitÂ
The morning, unfortunately, doesnât bring answers. Youâre not sure how to approach Chan other than to ask for time to process your feelings. That seems like as good a place to start as any because itâs a lot to take in. He must know that. Surely heâll understand. Even though you seemingly accepted the news yesterday, itâs a new day today. And your brain is fighting to catch up.Â
Youâre trying to figure out how to approach the conversation with Chan when you make your way through the apartment. A piece of paper by your front door catches your eye and you approach it. You pick up the envelope and recognize the writing on the front of it as Chanâs. Thereâs something so impossibly him about the gesture. Of course he would write a letter instead ofâŠwait. A moment too late, your brain catches up. Why would Chan be writing you a letter? What changed?
Opening the letter feels close to the last thing you want to do. But, you know that you need to just open it to see whatâs going on. See if anything changes.Â
A lot can change overnight, it seems. Chan fills the letter with apologies for things you canât even begin to understand. Heâs apologizing to you and also to Amphitrite. It seems he got to the conclusion much faster than you, which shouldnât be surprising. Heâs had centuries, apparently, to learn and to spot things others may never notice. Thatâs especially clear as you read through his letter, now.Â
Getting past the general apologies, you find more specific apologies. Heâs incredibly sorry, but heâs going to be leaving for a while. He knows that itâs not fair to you, but itâs something that heâs got to do. At least he acknowledges that it should ultimately be your decision on how to proceed with the relationship. He canât let you do that without more answers to his questions. He needs to know how itâs possible for Amphitriteâs soul to have found its way into your body. He needs to understand what that means for your own mortality. Itâs selfish, he admits, so incredibly selfish, but he canât move forward with you, even if thatâs what you want, without knowing more. He canât watch as you age and he doesnât. Canât grow to love you more and more only to know you have an expiration date. Itâs cold, he knows, to say it that way. Itâs also the way heâs going to approach it. The whole letter is filled with apologies and acknowledgements followed by buts.Â
Chan goes on to say that heâs going looking for his brother, Zeus. Heâs the only one that might be able to help them understand whatâs happening. The problem is that he hasnât seen his brother in centuries and doesnât entirely know how to find him, or if heâs even still surviving. He just has to trust that heâs out there somewhere, going through the same motions as Chan and chugging forward in the only way either of them know how. Somehow this tidbit is a lot to process. Accepting the existence of Poseidon was easy. Maybe thatâs because of your own past. Accepting Zeus is something else entirely. Some of that stems from your own disbelief. Most seems to come from Amphitriteâs complicated feelings about her brother-in-law.
Just as youâre about to put the letter down in frustration, you see the postscript. Chan asks you to help his staff look after the aquarium until he returns. He knows that itâs not fair to ask. He knows you may even say no. Your heart tightens at the thought of the animals without Chan. Now that you know who he is, you know that theyâll miss him when heâs not around. You donât have powers the way he does, though. And itâs his choice to just leave on a whim to chase answers for a relationship that may not even be there when he returns.Â
Well, two can play this game, you think. It may not be a fully rational thought. It may not even be fair. Before you can overthink it, you send a text to Soonyoung saying that youâll be out of town for the next few weeks, at least. You just tell him that you have some things to work through and leave it at that. In the meantime, you throw things haphazardly into a suitcase and youâre out the door before even getting a response.
Your letter from Chan stays sitting on your table as you rush out of the apartment without a second thought. All you know is that youâre going to let Amphitrite guide you on a journey of your own to find missing memories before you make any more decisions.Â
It seems like both of you have a lot to figure out before you see each other next.

You and Daesung, the Double Trouble Couple, are always up to playful mischief. In this moment, you prank Taeyang by changing his phoneâs lock screen to a funny meme, all while teasing CL and Minzy. Amidst the chaos, sweet couple moments shine through, showing how perfectly you and Daesung balance fun and affection.
(Kang Daesung x Chaotic!Fem!Reader)
hii tysm for requesting!! YESS WE DO NEED MORE BB FANFICS!! as a vip since 2018 i have to do them justice!!also, daesung is my biasđđ! reposts and comments are appreciated!!
Another day at YG, and the Double Trouble Couple was ready to spread their usual brand of fun and chaos. You and Daesung were masters at balancing sweet couple moments with just the right amount of harmless mischief.
You were lying on the couch in the practice room, scrolling through your phone, while Daesung sat next to you, absentmindedly flipping through a magazine. It was one of those rare moments when things were calm â but you knew it wouldnât last long.
You glanced up at Daesung, a mischievous grin forming on your lips. âHey, babe, I have an idea. Letâs mess with Taeyang for a minute.â
Daesungâs face lights up with that same glint of mischief. âWhat do you have in mind?â
You giggled. âWhat if we rearranged his phone background to something really ridiculous? Like⊠one of those puppy memes that say âWhen youâre too cute for this worldâ or something equally cringe-worthy.â
Daesung laughs, shaking his head. âThatâs perfect. Heâs gonna be so confused when he sees it.â
You both sneak over to Taeyangâs bag, where his phone was lying. With the stealth of two professional pranksters, you quickly change his lock screen to the cringiest meme you could find â a baby panda trying to look tough, paired with the text: âMe: 1% scary, 99% adorable.â You high-five each other in excitement.
Daesung chuckles. âHeâs not going to know what hit him.â
As you return to your spot, trying to act completely innocent, you notice CL and Minzy talking nearby. You can already tell by their facial expressions that theyâre waiting for the moment to see what kind of chaos you and Daesung have planned.
CL crosses her arms, raising an eyebrow at you. âWhat did you two do this time? Iâm getting that âweâre about to get prankedâ vibe.â
You smile sweetly. âWhat? Us? Weâre just being cute.â
Daesung leans in, acting all innocent. âYeah, weâre perfectly innocent. We wouldnât do anything⊠mischievous.â
Minzy shakes her head. âYou two are trouble.â
âAre we?â you reply, looking at Daesung with a grin. âWeâre just adorable trouble, arenât we?â
Just then, Taeyang walks back into the room, holding his phone and looking at it with furrowed brows. âWhat the heck is this?â
You try and fail to hold back your laughter. Daesung pats you on the back, trying to act like heâs unaffected.
âTaeyang, are you okay?â you ask, feigning concern. âItâs just a meme, right? I mean, who could resist the cuteness of a baby panda?â
Daesung laughs, nudging you playfully. âThe real question is, why isnât he taking the compliment? I mean, 1% scary and 99% adorable? Who wouldnât want that on their phone?â
Taeyang looks at the two of you, an eyebrow raised. âYou guys are so childish.â
You grin, a little too sweetly. âMaybe, but weâre just spreading some love around here.â
Daesung throws his arm around you and laughs. âYeah, love and glitter. Weâre basically the best at it.â
CL is trying to hold in her giggles, but Minzy canât stop laughing. âHonestly, itâs cute. You two are just evil sometimes.â
âYouâre welcome,â you reply with a sweet smile.
Later on, after the laughs have died down and Taeyang finally changes his lock screen back, the four of you fall into a comfortable silence. But, you know it wonât last long. Not with you and Daesung around.
As you and Daesung sit next to each other, your legs touching, thereâs a softness in the air. You glance at him, and he turns to look at you. Without a word, he leans in and kisses the side of your head, his hand gently resting on yours.
âYou know,â Daesung says softly, his voice filled with warmth, âI love this. Just being with you, messing around, making everyone laugh. It feels⊠right.â
You smile up at him, your heart swelling. âMe too. We make the perfect team.â
His thumb strokes the back of your hand. âYeah, we do. I donât know how I got so lucky.â
You canât help but laugh, squeezing his hand. âLucky? Youâve definitely earned it. Iâm basically chaos in human form.â
He laughs with you, then pulls you closer, his arm draped around your shoulder. âYouâre my chaos, and I wouldnât have it any other way.â
Minzy, who had been watching the two of you, sighs dramatically. âItâs so cute, but honestly, itâs annoying how you two just work together.â
You grin at her, teasing. âWhat can we say? Itâs called couple goals.â
Daesung laughs, his arm tight around you as he responds, âHonestly, we make being cute look too easy.â
CL rolls her eyes but canât stop herself from smiling. âYou two should really calm down with the couple energy. Iâm literally single here, and itâs giving me a toothache.â
âI canât help it,â you say with a grin. âDaesung is just too adorable.â
Daesung playfully bumps you with his shoulder. âDonât go too hard, babe. Iâm already a heartbreaker.â
As the evening goes on, the playful teasing continues â but so do the quiet, affectionate moments between you and Daesung. Whether itâs the way he gently brushes your hair out of your face or the way you both share secret smiles across the room, thereâs an undeniable connection between the two of you.
And even though youâre both little troublemakers, in this moment, it feels like the calmest chaos â just the way you like it.

ermâŠ..posting about an OC via a rushed shitpost was not on my 2025 bingo card!! đđđđđđget it??? đđđbecause his name is bingo??(GETS SHOT)
these are all things he has done or has attempted to do so consider this the full intro post for that freak for now. heâs still too undercooked to fully introduce but damn I love him
#pdbc#I love him. heâs the sole descendant of a royal family and. if youâll pardon the pun. is royally fucking things up for himself#he could do so much in life and instead decides to be the next Gordon RamsayâŠâŠ..such wasted potential#did. did I ever mention that part of him. his clan is called the Ramsay clan after all#he wants to be Gordon Ramsay sooooo fucking badâŠâŠ.#big theater kid gone wrong energy from him#so many of my posts this year have been pdbc related. it Will happen again.#< (in my defense Iâm working on other non-pdbc stuff !! but pdbc stuff is easy to make because I donât have to think about it)#once Iâm not so burnt out Iâm really excited to design bingoâŠ.not even going to attempt to rn#I hate designing outfits but Iâm actually looking forward to his bc he has a horrid mix of royal garments and astereotypical butcher outfit#speaking of butchers. butcher vanity? great song absolutely fits him. cannot stop listening to it#surprisingly him being like. a literal cannibal isnât even all he does. thatâs just aâŠlittle quirk of his#like yaâd think him eating people would be more important but nah. heâs a POET and a MAGICIAN đ€đ€#Iâd say heâs one of the most evil characters butâŠ..kinda all of my characters are#sure bingo tries to eat people and bomb peopleâs homes but there are side characters who put acid in the water supply and arenât punished#so bingoâs just par for the course honestly#the best thing heâs ever done is install an air conditioning unit. there wasnât one before bc Mole (his mom) didnât like themâ#âwhich resulted in people keeling over from heat exhaustion a lot so. good job for fixing that bingo#itâs the bare minimum but thatâs pretty good for him so he can have a round of applause for that#I think I might have mentioned Gerbombs in passing but I love them sm#theyâre gerbils genetically engineered to blow up when pressure is placed on them#theyâre adorable. thankfully they have no concept of death so theyâre just chilling with no worries in the world#before you get sad. Sushi rescued most of the Gerbombs and now cares for them so happy ending#no Gerbombs shall die under her watch. I donât think I could deal with it if too many Gerbombs died#although theyâre called Gerbombs theyâre actually more physically close to jerboas#theyâre so cute. I should draw a Gerbomb sometime#(I should also probably rename them jerbombs considering theyâre not gerbils but ehhhhhhhhhhhhh)

Beerus happens to be one of my favorite Dragonball characters and I fully ignore ANY of the dumb decisions the Super Anime made with his character at times.
#Out Of Ki | {OOC}#From The Heavens | {Mun Post}#Like I love that Beerus is a morally gray character; he's not a wholesome good guy but he's also not just a straight up evil bastard either#He does a job; it's not a pretty job but it's a job none the less that needs to be done#And that's why I adored his intro in Battle of Gods#Not just that but he had a personality; he could be goofy and silly but also be intimidating and scary af too when needed#And he could back up his shit talking too; wasn't just hot air#When he said he could FUCK you up easily that wasn't just him bragging; he literally CAN fuck you up#Like him admitting Whis could kick his ass even is just a matter of fact; it's why Whis is his attendant...to keep him in check#So yeah; I was not fond of what the anime 'added'#Especially the part with the Saiyans and Frieza#I know the manga sticks closer to keeping Beerus more or less how he is in the movies and such#And while the manga has it's problems...the anime seems to make them amplifies those problems or add new ones that the manga avoided#But yeah; hate what they do to Beerus sometimes in the anime...#I love my funky cat god man and forever upset at Super anime for how they portray him = =;;;#ALSO ALSO will forever remember in Xenoverse how he basically cackled when the villains tried to corrupt him and he just shrugged it off#Bitch was like 'cute but no' XD

happy scriblings & playing games (VERY LIGHT new zelda spoilers btw i guess lol)
#witch hat tag#orufrey#me giving up shrines bc of severe joycon drift: this would rly suck if i was oru and qifrey was next to me and i was trying to impress him#qif is better suited to pkmn. having a gaggle of unruly & cute creatures around him feels natural.#he always has oru's starter (traded immediately every time â€ïž) 4 adorable creatures to represent the girls#and an unfathomable being to represent a brushbug. the 4 are named after the girls but maybe they get to recommend which things.#like riche would want something really cool & strong & cute. agott something really technically good to help qifrey out..#but qifrey cant let his girls battle. so they're all weak. he sends out oru to protect everyone for him â€ïž#oru just plays games to distract from the work grind so he plays them all normally.#they swapped the joycons of their black and white switches long ago too..normal regular tasselcore friendship things..#oru doesnt have the heart to tell qifrey...THAT YOUR JOYCON HAS DRIFT AND SUCKS!!!!!!! he'll accept it...evil joycon of love......#it's weird that im drawing happy sweet art when i feel kinda shitty atm ...

Grump and not so grump (Patreon)
#Doodles#Villainsona#Just Desserts#Lol#Happy to be the happy sona! Of course âȘ#I fiiiinally got a haircut again yaaaay#Actually all the Reds did! We all went to the local barber and they do such lovely work <3#We got our hair cut on smol's birthday and we're all adorable!#It's really nice now that it's out of my eyes and off my neck - smol's is directly in her eyes tho lol#As long as she's happy haha#Continuing the happies trend <3 This was doodled before the brain weirdness but I'm mostly back onto it :)#Got brain-work to do about it |P But better is good! I like better!!#And I like pleased <3#There was plenty to be pleased about! :D Good dreams and good conversation and games and ah <3 Happies <3#Poor Charm gets none of the above! Haha poor lad âȘ#The TVAU grump was just a spacefiller so not much more to that#She is cute tho even when she's grumpy#And then the Kaiein thing lol - so I mentioned a bit back about going to meet with one of Kaiein's ''inspiration sources'' ahem ahem#It's the same as before - they're honestly quite ineffectual once you get right down to it#I read basically everything they do in bad faith because there's no established trust - and also I don't care if they're trying to insult me#If they're trying to connect it's sad - if they're trying to be mean it's pathetic - which I mean? Good?? Lol#Them not having power over me in themself is a good thing I'm glad that's where I am currently#Basically they got me a how-to book on digital art - with an emphasis on Photoshop#I know SAI is a lesser-known program but they were the one who helped me buy it - they've probably forgotten#Maaahh it doesn't matter - not even into Evil Time about it it's just so nothing pff#Someday they'll learn that giving gifts isn't the be-all end-all to making friends. I know I would've preferred nothing :P#I'm just happy to be confident enough where I am that while I don't like it - it doesn't actually do anything to me lol#It's a better place to be :)

Starfire teen titans my best friend Starfire id burn alive for you
#the klock keeps ticking#cant remember shit about the show like the story arcs and shit#cuz i watched this show when i was like 16 and had trouble paying attention to anything at all#but decided i was gonna watch a few episodes for shits and i watched the apprentice episodes#hnnnghh it fucking ruled this show is awesome#like i truly cannot remember anything about slade like what his deal was what his motives are but god hes so good in this episode#hes creepy as fuck and like its just really satisfying how competent he is for a kids show villain#like he planted the evil torture devices in the gangs blood and he doesnt hesitate at all to push that button#i was expecting it to be like robin simply never fucked up bad enough to trigger the torture shit#or maybe like its revealed that it was all a lie to mess with him#but nah straight up robin hesitates to fucking shoot his friends and slade just instantly pushes the button and makes robin watch#AND THEN BLAMES HIM SAYING HOW THIS ALL HAPPENED CUZ HE DIDNT OBEY#and then the fucking part where slade is like âi was monitoring your endorphin levels i could tell you got excited when you stoleâ#DUUUUUDE#thats everything to me#and i like how the episode ends its very nice but initially i thought the blood torture devices were like bombs and that pushing the button#would mean instant death for the gang and like. okay imagine what i was cooking here#a controller for that would obviously have some sorta fail safe measure where if its destroyed the bombs go off so like you cant destroy it#and lets just say they didnt have a plot convenient way to remove the torture devices from the blood cuz that sounds kinda impossible tbh#what if like. the conclusion was robin obtains the controller so that he can take away slades power and leave him#but now hes just got the controller and he has this constant anxiety like what if he doesnt watch it and it goes off#what if the controller gets stolen or worse like. robin is in this position where he holds his friends lives in his hands#just like slade did. an evil reminder that he really is no different from slade what if he cant stop himself from pushing the button?#the episode ends with everything back to normal but then we see robin alone unsure with the controller locked away#and its just this looming presence for like the rest of the show or at least until slade is defeated and like robin has severe anxiety#over it he has nightmares of himself pushing the button he constantly double checks to make sure the controller is still there untouched#IMAGINE IMAGINE GUYS godddd i like need this fic now#sorry i got so caught up gushing about robin and this episode that i didnt even mention starfire aldkks i thinks shes adorable and autistic#and i would do anything for her and she and Robin are so cute i love them so much

extremely dubious consent. power/class imbalance. implied breeding. manipulation.
but regency era John Price paying off your chaperone to get you alone in a carriage for few hours and the whole time, your guardians think you're being properly supervised during this unorthodox courtship.
And sure, he's so much older than you, a widower with specks of grey along his temples and peppered in his beard, and more established in class and life compared to you, the poor thing that only just entered society and already got snatched up by the surly, gruff Duke. But it's John Price. Despite his temperament, he's such a respectable man, isn't he? They can trust him to protect you, of course.
And he does.
Your virtue, however? Not so much.
He does away with that little problem on the second outing he takes you on, smothering the protests that draw up, shaky and uncertain on your lips when the chaperone your guardians paid to watch over you walks away, swallowing it down with a searing kiss. Shushes you through it as he slips his thick fingers over the seam of you, arm buried beneath a dense layer of fabric, snuffing out those little gasps.
Don't worry about it, he rasps into the burning apple of your cheek. "s'how it's supposed to be, mm?" and when that doesn't quell the quiver in your brow, he adds:
"s'what I want, love. Jus' a little taste, mm?"
And the problem with gently reared girls is that they turn into such obliging women. Your eyes flicker downwardâsoft in your acquiescence even though your shoulders draw up cutely towards your ears. Pretty little thing. He couldn't possibly resist.
So he doesn't.
Taking such a lovely creature on the dirty floor of the carriage with your prim, proper skirts trussed up over your hips, shift in utter disarray from the scorching attention he lavished your breasts earlier is nothing short of euphoric. Aided by the adorable little whines you make when he finally notches his cock against your soft flesh. Worry flashing over your brow because he's just too big, too thick, for you to take, and maybe we shouldn't, Mr Priceâ
But you swallow him just as sweetly as he imagined you would when he pushes inside of you. Pussy fluttering around him in a panic at the blunt, thick intrusion, unused to such brutal treatment. And it's heaven, of course. Nirvana between the split of your pretty thighs. Pussy just made to take his cock. Loving it so tenderly like this
"Taking me so well, aren't you?"
Tears on your lashline. Nose scrunched up. He's sure it's a trial for you, but this is just a prelude. Ripping the bandaid off.
A necessary evil.
And if the altruistic facade falters under the blunt weight of his desire, his greed, then at least he has a failsafe to keep you in his pocket should your guardians decide heâin his age, his callousnessâis not a good fit for their daughter. They are the doting type, after all. Romantics. Idealists.
It doesn't take him much at all to reach the apex of his pleasure, not when your hands press tight to chest as he bears his weight down, grinding his throbbing cock into the deepest part of you. Your moans, delicious little keens ringing so sweetly in his ears. Letting him ride you hard against the dirty floor, chasing his pleasure even as your knees dig into his sides, brows pinced but nodding along when he rasps in your ear about how good you feel and how it'll only get better, and next timeâsince you're bein' so bloody sweet f'imâhe'll show you how to suck his cock between those damnably soft lips, keep his fingers buried inside of you while you fold yourself over the bench on your knees, mouth swallowing him down deepâ
(If they can't come to reason and see why he's a good match, then the swell of your belly in a few months time will surely sway themâ)
The thought breaks across his spine, molten heat puddling in his loins. Fuckâ
Despite the viciousness of thrusts at the idea, you take his desire so goddamn well.
It sends him over the edge with a grunt. A belly deep groan. And just in time, too.
After he puts your clothes in order and slides you back into the seat, groaning when you squeeze your thighs tight together, keeping his cum from spilling out, your chaperone arrives with a nervous smile and a glint of guilt that's easily diminished with another slip of cash between palms. You stare, dazed and flushed, out the window, and barely even flinch when he lays his hand on your thigh, hold possessive. Proprietary.
"Time to go home, mm?"
And if he brings you back to your guardians flustered, limping, and a little dazedâwell. The roads were just terrible, weren't they, sweetheart? Quite the rough ride, mm? He's sure next time will be better.
#i guess the era of older manipulative Price corrupting reluctant and bullied into liking it Reader has begun#captain john price x reader#john price x reader#price x reader

baby fever
in which reader and spencer discuss having a baby while at work
fluff warnings/tags: fem/AFAB!reader, bau!reader, BOYFRIEND!SPENCER or husband if u so desire, discussions of pregnancy/having a baby (obviously), reader wants a baby, so does spencer a/n: god i need him so badly. should i write follow up smut?? mwahaha evil emoji......
The coffee finished brewing minutes ago, but youâre still standing by the pot, watching Andersonâs daughter toddling around the bullpen on chubby legs. Sheâs not very adept at walking, but her spirit is indomitableâevery time she tips a little too far forward, she catches herself and gets right back up. Itâs not like sheâs doing anything particularly impressive or even interesting, but you canât take your eyes off her. Every movement makes your heart twinge, every giggle or curious quirk of her head is so adorable it physically hurts in your chest.Â
From your peripheral vision you see Spencer approaching, bearing his own empty mug, but not even he can draw your attention away from the adorable little pixie and her tutu and her pigtails.Â
âThat is the cutest kid I have ever seen in my life,â you whisper to Spencer, hoping the quiet tone of your voice will help hide how much you feel like cooing and squealing.Â
He smiles to himself as he pours his coffee.Â
âThatâs Rosie. Have you said hi yet?âÂ
âIâm afraid if I talk to her Iâll try to keep her.âÂ
âShe is pretty adorable.âÂ
You turn to him as he leans next to you on the counter, sipping his coffee casually.Â
âAdorable? Spencer. Puppies are adorable. Youâre not understanding the magnitude of what I mean right now. I canât explain to you how much adorable doesnât cut it. Iâm not kidding about the child abduction thing.âÂ
HIs eyes slide around the room as he chuckles into his mug.Â
âLetâs maybe not joke about kidnapping a child in FBI headquarters.âÂ
âIâm not joking,â you hiss. âI feel like Iâm going insane. I justââÂ
At the last second you stop yourself, pulling your bottom lip between your teeth.Â
âYou just what?â Spencer asks, adjusting the hem of your shirt with his free hand. You glance down, watching the care he takes in the tiniest detail that you wouldnât have given a second thought to.Â
âIs something wrong with my shirt?âÂ
His eyes flick up to yours, hazel tinted with mild surprise.Â
âNo. It just was sliding up your waist a little bit.â As he says it, his knuckles brush the bare skin of your torso. You suppress a shiver, studying his profile once he pulls his hand away and goes for another sip.Â
âCan we have one?âÂ
Your inopportune timing results in coffee dribbling down Spencerâs chin as he quickly attempts to wipe it away, wide eyes torn between you and trying to assess the mess heâs made.Â
âYou--you mean like a baby?âÂ
âYeah, like a baby,â you say, grabbing his shoulders and squaring them to you before dabbing the coffee from his face and jacket. He watches on as you clean him up, completely still except for his wandering eyes.Â
âI thought we were waiting on that.âÂ
âWaiting for what? A better time? Thereâs never going to be a good time with this job. And itâs not like weâd have to quit. Look at JJ. She has two and still does it.âÂ
âFirst of all,â Spencer begins, quickly recovering from your surprise proposition, âI donât love the idea of either of us being in the field with you pregnant. And secondly, JJ also has Will and her mother to take care of the boys. We donât have that. Weâre both here all the time.âÂ
âI donât care,â you groan, trashing the paper towels once youâve done the best you can with his clothing. âWeâd figure it out somehow!âÂ
âMhm. It sounds like youâve really devoted some careful consideration to this.âÂ
You drop your head to your shoulder, giving him your best puppy dog eyes and pulling lightly on his shirtsleeve.Â
âOh, come on. You havenât thought about it at all? My perfect brain and your pretty face fusing to create a future Nobel-prize winner? Imagine how cute she would be, Spencer, we could put her hair in little braids and pigtails and we could dress her up and she could be in soccer and ballet andââÂ
âShe?â he smiles, studying your face intently. You roll your eyes.Â
âYes, she. Obviously we would have a girl. YouââÂ
The idea of Spencer as the father of your daughter hits you like a tidal wave, stopping you dead in your tracks. The images materialize in your mindâs eye so clearly, itâs like theyâre already memories, so real and tangible you have no doubt it must come to fruition someday. But if before, your ranting was mostly a silly fantasyânow itâs become a bit more intense.Â
He seems to sense your shift in mood. The big smile thaws slightly as he subtly grabs your hand on the counter.Â
âWhat? Whatâs wrong?âÂ
There he goes again. Being kind. Being perfect.Â
Tears sting your eyes, but you donât let them fall. Â
âNothing. Nothing is wrong. I just... didnât realize how badly I actually wanted that until I said it out loud.âÂ
The concern in his eyes softens to pure affection as he runs his thumb over the back of your hand.Â
âI want it too. And whenever you decide youâre ready Iâll drop everything for you.âÂ
His words are like compounding pressure to the deep heat within youâforming something so solid and perfect you donât have to wonder if itâs real. A ten on the Mohs scale, a concept that gets closer to actualizing by the minute. Â
Your voice is quiet, revelatory as you admire the amber facets in his eyes.Â
âYouâre ready?â Â
âIâve been ready for quite some time,â he admits. And at once you feel the certainty of him paint your past and your future with one broad brushstroke. One day you will look back on your life and remember the time before Spencer, and that will be it. There is before Spencer, and with Spencer, but never an after Spencer. He wants to create something utterly permanent with you. âCome here.âÂ
He sets his mug down, carefully pulling you forward so youâre toe to toe with your back to the rest of the BAU; so that only he can see you. Despite how good the two of you are at avoiding PDA, occasionally an exception is made. He tenderly wipes away the few tears that have sprung from your waterline and accepts your arms around his waist, mirroring your embrace and completely enveloping you. Â
âI love you,â he murmurs against the top of your hair, quiet enough that nobody in the office has a chance of hearing it. You sniffle.Â
âI love you too. Also you smell really good.âÂ
He chuckles, hand roaming up and down your back for a moment.Â
âAnd that is why we are holding off on this at least for a while.âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â you whisper indignantly as he gently peels you off him. His hands remain a steadying force on your waist as he smiles down at you beatifically.Â
âI mean letâs give it two weeks and see if you still want a baby when youâre not ovulating.âÂ

Stellar Dynamics
You know what.
ANOTHER DPxDC idea (as if I write prompts for anything else lol â(ââĄâ)
And once again, I think I might have a hyperfixation rn, another deaged Dani (Ellie) and Dan (Dante)! and Dad!Danny.
And you know what, lets make it another DannyxConner idea.
Danny is on a field trip with his class (NOT in Gotham though, LOVE Gotham but lets go with a different city) in like Central City or Metropolis (If Metropolis, Danny is SUPER excited to see the space sections they have at the museum they no doubt have, because well SUPERMAN is an alien and based in their city. If in Central City Conner is visiting Bart.)
During the trip he bumps into Conner and the two just hit it off. Conner enjoys listening to Danny rant about space and the stars and finds watching Danny's eyes light up in joy kinda cute. And if he got his new hero name Supernova from listening to Danny's rants about the stars well... no one needs to know how he got it.
Danny likes how chill Conner is and how the guy stood against Dash and the other jocks when Dash decided he wanted to mess with Danny during the trip, a rare thing nowadays but sometimes Dash does try, and how he respects/likes Danny's friends.
He didn't even say anything negative or hurtful when he found out Danny has two kids back home.
In the end the two exchange numbers, flirt hard, and maybe set up a date in the future. And then more dates. Becoming boyfriends. AND meeting the family. Conner is smitten with just out of toddlerhood Ellie and toddler Dante and adores them. And he loves how the Fentons just love him the moment he stepped into their house and was introduced as Danny's boyfriend, he made sure to bring over a pie Ma should him how to make.
Things get a bit complicated when Conner, Supernova, is at a reunion of YJ members and his phone lights up with a text message from Danny.
He's smiling with a goofy/soft look when he opens the text and see's its a picture of Danny holding a pouting toddler Dante and Ellie on his lap smiling with a notable gap in her teeth at the camera. The message he got was 'Ellie wanted you to know she finally lost her first baby tooth. Dan's been grumpier, I think he misses you.'
He is pulled out of his happy thoughts and musings when he hears Bart gasp hard and drop a bowl of snacks onto the floor. Conner turns to from the future Speedster and see's him about to have a panic attack.
Bart, Impulse, is having a freak out after catching a glimpse of the text picture Conner had gotten and being nosy wanted to know what got his friend to smile so smitten. He knew of Conner's current boyfriend and the kids Conner adores but haven't had time to be introduced to them or even see a pic.
He wasn't expecting to see the very MONSTER of his NIGHTMARES that basically destroyed the world in the FUTURE as a toddler pouting at a camera and surrounded by two smiling identical looking people either. People he never saw in the future or with HIM AND-
Oh.... OH!
Was that why he turned evil? Did something happen to his family?
