I clear coated the Plenum this morning and finished up the art work on the fuel rails today. I was intending on adding more on the fuel rail covers but when I put it beside the plenum I thought it worked really well as framing for it. Modified these again. Was given free reign on the 3 cover pieces to go multiple colors. I didn't like the plain black background so I gave it a more circus frantic background. Redid the laughter and added some greens and a touch of purple. So I started on the engine cover project. I was told that it was a Joker only theme and needed to be dark. Other than that I get to go crazy with it. I decided to just mess around on this cover. No reference and no line art, the only thing that is not free handed was the first pass on the straight razor. I figured if I didn't like it or the client didn't like it I would just repaint it. The cool thing about doing this is the freedom to experiment and just play around. About a year ago I painted this cover with a different shark and different writing. The piece was damaged and needing redone. After a complete sand down and reprime I went to it. I started with a different shark more inline with the version that was originally on it. I hated it, couldn't make it into something I liked so that got sanded off. After speaking with the client he recommended using a great white as opposed to the Mako style that was on it before. The Great White shark is my favorite animal in the animal kingdom so I was completely in. I played around with ideas in my head and ended up with this. It's a monster version, and I thought I would put it in a fighting arena that had sunk to the ocean floor.
