Artist Ruth’s apt. in Downtown New York City is in a century old building, has hardly any partitions, and is furnished in a casual style with second hand pieces and her own work. In the hall is a bust bought at a flea market customized by Ruth with a pearl necklace and nails. Above the peephole, is an engraving by the artist.

In the hall are watercolors and a round photo of New Orleans, among other small works.

On back of the front door, painted red, photos of her mother, dogs, drawings from when she was little, and a medley of images, illustrations and postcards that she likes.

In the living room, the sofa, with African fabric, and the coffee table are from second-hand stores. On the sides, ceramic tables and lamps from the 60s and 70s. Wooden stool from the 50s found in the garbage. All the works on the walls are by Ruth.

Ruth covered her mother's 70s dining room table with an oilcloth she bought in Barcelona and upholstered the chairs with an African fabric. Seventies lamp from a second-hand store. On the wall, her works.
