also minor rant abt the dimmadomes having super curly hair: hi, hello, white dude with very curly hair here, idk abt yall but ive TRIED to get my hair to slick back like dale and devs for formal events before and it DOES NOT DO THAT WITHOUT A BOATLOAD OF GEL. to get my hair to look even partially as neat as theirs i had to essentially glue my hair down AND THEYRE GETTING OFF HELICOPTERS AND WEARING HATS/HEADPHONES AND RUNNING AROUND WITHOUT A SINGLE CURL POPPING OUT LIKE OUGH ik its just bc they prob didnt wanna have to sculpt or animate that but im begging the writers that if they get s2 and ever make an episode abt/involving the dimmadomes having naturally curly hair (bc yk dale literally canonically has curly hair even if dev doesnt) they MAKE SOME SORT OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT ABOUT THE SHEER AMOUNT OF PRODUCT IT TAKES TO GET CURLY HAIR TO SLICK BACK LIKE THAT. LIKE HTAT SHIT HAS TO BE CRUNCHY AF. YOU TRY TO RUN A COMB THROUGH THEIR HAIR AND IT WILL JUST BOUNCE RIGHT OFF

Billy gets his curls from his mom.

Of course he does. Everything he actually likes about himself is mostly just because of her.

(And everything Neil despises about him is mostly just because of her.)

She didn’t leave many things when she left.

But, she left a dove grey scarf. A soft soil one that she would use to tie up her hair before she went to bed.

She told Billy it made her curls smoother, more defined, less frizzy.

Billy had forgotten about it. It was actually Steve that had found it in a box of miscellaneous items Billy was refusing to unpack, even after being in Hawkins for nearly six months.

Steve had let the cool silk run between his fingers.

“What’s this?” He asked, and Billy always likes how Steve can keep his voice even. Nonjudgmental.

“Scarf.”

Billy’s heart had tightened at the view of that scarf. He had forgotten about it.

“Why do you have it?”

“My mom. It was her’s.”

Steve just gave him a doe-eyed look, holding the scarf in front of him like some kind of precious artifact of Billy’s fucked up life.

“She used to wear them to bed. Tie her hair up, you know? She said it made her curls better.”

It always did. Her hair was always so beautiful. Sometimes she and Billy would sit in the back yard, in the soft grass, and she would brush out her hair. And they’d laugh at how huge it would get, but it was always as soft as the silk that Steve was holding.

Steve smiled, sitting down in front of Billy on his bed.

It was a rare moment of having the house to themselves.

Steve had parked three blocks away and walked, ducking around the back of the neighbor’s house to sneak in Billy’s window.

He reached up, clumsily tying the scarf around Billy’s head, tucking his hair in.

“There.” He smiled brightly, leaning forward to press a kiss to Billy’s heated cheek.

Billy started sleeping with the scarf.

Not only because his curls got better, (smoother, more defined, less frizzy, just like she always said) and not only because Steve liked to play with the thick ringlets, but because he missed her. He missed his mom every goddamn day of his goddamn life.

And sometimes, when he tied his hair up, he could pretend she had just done the knot for him. That she had tucked in any stray hairs and pinned the scarf to each side.

He’d do anything to feel close to her.

Hey y'all! I'm sort of growing my hair out (in that I did not cut it and am liking how it looks), and it's kind of growing in curly? I've never had hair this length before in my life, and I think it might be that when it's long the weight makes it almost straight, and when it's super short it just stands straight up. I have no idea how to take care of curly/wavy hair properly, though, if you have any advice? My mom and my sister both have super curly hair, like ringlets, but they both did not learn how to handle curls until after we were not living together and both have a different hair...texture? feel? idk the word than I do. I don't think my hair is the kind of curly that could do ringlets but it's definitely wavier than it's ever been in my life and I love it. So far what I have learned is that if I brush it when it's dry it's no longer wavy/curly, it's just a poofy mess, and a lot of hair products have coconut in them and I am allergic lol

Hear me out- Tamaki with wavy/curly hair. just a slight curl, not super curly but obviously not straight. He doesn’t put in tons of products just because he likes them, he has to actually maintain it in a way the other host club members don’t. He can’t leave it air dry, and putting product in and brushing/styling while still wet is a must.

The boys look at him a bit funny when all his hair products get thrown away at the airport and as soon at they get to the hotel in whatever humid place they’re staying, he loses it just a little. It’s humid and his hairs already getting frizzy just from being outside a little, and all his hundreds of dollars worth of products are gone. They probably don’t even sell his products here, he has to special order them at home. Kyoya does his best to calm him, but the whole trip Tamaki feels like shit. He thinks he looks unkempt and messy, and the twins keep poking fun at his frizzy hair.

When they get home he locks himself away in his room until he can get his hair fixed, and only lets Haruhi in to help him. She’s really sympathetic about it, they know how much of a pain in the ass hair can be to maintain. And while Kyoya is his best friend, and is trying to be supportive, he just *doesn’t get it*. Honey and Mori make the twins apologize when Tamaki and Haruhi finally get it all back to normal.

Anyways, I just think he’d be cute with curly hair :)

I thought I was a fake curly hair haver bc my curls flatten into waves after a few days of not showering but after one conversation with my aunt who also has curly hair I discovered you're supposed to do more than just wash your hair if you want curls to stay nice looking. So. If anyone else out there is like me, turns out you gotta use like gel and shit sometimes. Pro tip.
