What Even Is Anime? A Reflection
A couple of weeks ago, I was watching “Vinland Saga” Season 2, and it got me thinking about the essence of anime. This show, with its profound exploration of trauma and the quest for new purpose, sparked a deeper reflection on what anime truly is. “Vinland Saga” delves into the human condition with such depth, portraying characters who grapple with loss, seek redemption, and strive to find…

F2U Furina/Arlecchino Stamps
I wanted some cute stamps for my Artfight page, but only managed to find a SINGLE Furina stamp and NONE of Arlecchino. So I did what any normal person would. I made 20 in total.

I just spent like twenty minutes rambling about 80s-90s Booster Gold, and then I accidentally deleted the draft.
Anyway, to summarize, he’s such a fascinating and complex character who’s just constantly suffering. Please please please look into Booster Gold and his goddamn life support mech suit. He lost a whole arm and is constantly at the edge of the death. Even before, he’s just a ball of anxiousness and imposter syndrome buried in spades of Charisma.
Also, his characterization in Blue & Gold feels kind of flat, and I know it’s because it’s like sitcom and comedy and all that. I also know it’s a disservice to Ted Kord to kill him for the sake of Booster’s character development, but his death does renew my interest in Booster’s character. From the moment Booster embraces being the Greatest Hero You’ve Never Heard Of, he is my favorite.

cooking a bruce wayne
So, I'm a Xillenial -- AKA I was born during the "cusp" of Gen X & Millennials. I am very much culturally a Millennial though, so I generally go with that. I'm ... old. I've been around on the internet for nearly 30 years. (I was on the internet way too young, let's just say that! Wild West, etc.)
I've been RPing Bruce Wayne for approximately... twenty of those years online? Off and on, and more seriously ten years ago in 2014. I love him unto death. But I need a structure that is not given to me in comics: age. the passage of time. time being real.
So, when my wife and I looked into the bones of "The Bones of You" a decade previous, I realized that I needed to ... decide how old Bruce was. So I made him born in 1975 (thus staunchly a Gen X), because at the time, that'd make him at the cusp of 40. (A side note: I'm trying desperately to remember when slang was invented, so I'm hoping Urban Dictionary & Know Your Meme can help me not be an anachronistic mess.)
Now, well, I've crossed the line myself, and if he's still born in 1975... then he's almost fifty as of this year. And now I get it. A hand-wave kind of late-30's/early-40's vagueness in the comics keeps him relevant.
But, when it comes to our universe, we have plenty of stories to tell between now and the actual year. And also because it hurts my brain to think of a Bruce born in 1985 right now. I'm not moving the bar!!!

“you’re into ____? that’s so weird” okay, and you care so much about appearances and cringe culture you let it dictate what media you should and shouldn’t like. you don’t have the courage to unapologetically enjoy things and you will shoulder those burdens to your grave
