#miracleon63rdstreet Thank you soo much, at least you noticed me. You suggested me to show my face. Thanks but i can't. I do not want to disclose my identity because my family does not know about my debt. I don't let them show that how much am broken because i have responsibilities and they depend upon me. I don't want that they go through what i am going through. And this is why i thought to ask for help rather that having suicide.
Still not a single Doller received, but may be ........................

Critique
some of the feedback we got during the critique was:
-really nice ideas
-it’s interesting to look at research that is the complete opposite and then flip that to work in our favor.
-It’s great that we considered co-living developments
-good amount of research
-helping and giving is always such a lovely concept
Overall, I was quite happy with the three ideas we came up, since they were all about improving the community and providing a safe space in which everyone can enjoy themselves and each other through food

Cultivating Community Evaluation
The Cultivating Community brief was a lot more challenging than I first thought. The topic question that, in groups, we had to answer was ‘how might we reimagine common spaces to build diverse communities through food?’ This project was based off of a study by ‘The Big Lunch’ stating that 50% of meals are eaten alone, meaning people are not effectively spending time with others socialising over a meal. Another point ‘The Big Lunch’ found was that 70% of those questioned for the study said that they did not feel particularly engaged with their local community, whether that be with the community as whole or just in the vicinity of their home, i.e. neighbours. For our task we needed to research into why people are eating isolated and suggest three ideas that will combat this problem. To present the research and ideas we needed to create a short presentation showing our findings and the three ideas that we come up with.
To begin, my group decided that we would all separately go off and research and think of a few ideas each to then present back to each other a few days later. We would then choose three of the ideas that we thought were best and develop one of them further as a ‘final’ design. I began my research by looking into why people of all ages eat on their own. I came across this website, www.raflaamo.fi which, in summary, talks about the different reasons people isolate themselves whilst eating instead of getting together to eat. Nina Sjölund (the development manager for tourism and food trade at SOK) is saying that the main reasons to why people don’t tend to eat with one another is because it’s easier to make a meal for one person, people are constantly busy so therefore don’t have the time, or just simply don’t feel the need to interact with others on such a social level as they do at work or school on a regular basis. This bit of research helped me develop an idea of a ‘personal’ delivery service like ‘Deliveroo’, where someone can make a home-made dish (a dish that was passed through their family) and deliver this to other people, therefore bringing people together through food, in addition to the delivery the person delivering their dish could then enjoy the same dish with stranger or give a contact to the same person.
I then researched into ‘Closing the Distance Between Us,’ another study that gives statistics and reasons on why people eat isolated. Created by the Eden Project, more than half of the UK feel distant from their neighbours with 1 in 5 people haven’t even spoken to their neighbour. “However, there is a desire and need for change – in the poll, more than three quarters believe it would be better for our communities if we were closer to our neighbours but identified some barriers to doing so.” (edenprojectcommunities.com) The underlining issues that I got from this report was that us as a community are either too focussed on our own lives to even remotely think about the people around us or we are too uncomfortable to get to know others through socialising as it can be very daunting, especially in this technological age where it is similar to use the internet to connect with people. I also researched into other organisations that have effectively tackled this issue, such as; The Ron Finley Project. This research really helped us with coming up with ideas and a target audience, which ended up being first year students because we could relate to them the most which wold make them the best choice to use. We also chose students because the majority of our ideas happened to be based within a student environment, for example an idea that was proposed was to create a rooftop garden located on top of student houses that would act as a social space for students to unwind and grow their own foods., bringing them together.
Meeting back up, we discussed our research and some ideas that we thought would be the most effective at combatting the brief. The three main ideas we had were all student orientated further backing the student target audience. The first idea was called ‘Flat-Pack’ and was essentially a welcome package for first year students who were living in student accommodation and wanted to get to know their peers through the activity of cooking with one another. The second idea was named ‘Planted’ and was basically a roof-top garden that students can go to for a calm space, to meet new residents and to grow their own fruit and vegetables which they could then use together. Our final idea was the one we developed the most as we thought it was the strongest of the three. It was called ‘STACK’D’ and the over view of the idea was that students would get one pack of six cards which would then turn into discount cards for the student to use within the different food establishments that were portrayed on the cards, however the catch is that for the discount to work they would need to find three other students with the same card. We then thought of a way for students to easily find each other via Instagram uploads, you would go to the ‘STACK’D’ Instagram page, find the appropriate post and comment your name and where to meet. Alongside this we had the idea that the first five groups of people to get certain discounts would then get a £50 off of a shop of their choice, however during the critique this was confusing people and ended up not really making sense to the whole idea.
As we had to do this project in groups my task was to create the presentation and add everyone’s thoughts, research and ideas to it. Putting together the presentation wasn’t too difficult as we were pretty set on what idea out of three, we wanted to develop, plus we had a solid amount of detailed research that really tied the whole project together. The only real comments we had coming out of our critique was that in the presentation we needed to show how we came to the decision of using students as our target audience and to minimise the amount of information on the ‘STACK’D’ slide as it was confusing to read. Other than that, our presentation and ideas were effective at portraying the point of the brief and if we were to go ahead and actually complete the entire brief, we would have a very good idea to combat the solution.

Research - The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch is the UK's biggest annual get together for neighbours.  It's a simple idea from the Eden Project: that as many people as possible across the UK have lunch with their neighbours annually on a weekend in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
Similar to Macmillan, in the way there is no restriction on venue, many events can all be happening simultaneously at once. Also use the approach of sending out sign up packs.
