OMG NICE!! but yeah no it is super cool! like the guy im talking abt is the one who wrote the book, music & lyrics for it (bc obv lots of people come together to 'make' a play it wasn't JUST him, but as the writer it was like, his baby) we were coworkers last summer at the theatre festival im still working at, and he and i had organized a lil Vol. 2 watch party for a bunch of us here when it first dropped sdgfhgf

They really did it, they prominently featured Shuro in the OP for the first thirteen episodes only to not have him actually show up once, then in episode 14 when they bring in the new OP where he's just in the ambient crowdshots is when he finally shows up. A+ comedy, well done.

Looking back on TFOne and the toys that came out before the film, there's something interesting there about the Iacon 5000 to me. Spoilers under the cut

So what I've noticed is that there was a notable absence of Mirage in TFOne despite him appearing in the Iacon 5000 three-pack alongside D-16 and Orion.

Like- he was advertised in a toy commercial I saw months before TFOne went to theaters but he never actually got a highlight in the Iacon 5000. His name was on the leaderboard at one point but I've seen this film twice and didn't see him in crowd shots. At least not with this design.

But who WAS in the Iacon 5000 with a large focus and is also a blue-colored Transformer? Chromia! (Image sourced from trading cards on Weibo)

But the interesting part, to me at least, is her head design. There's nothing stereotypically 'Chromia' about her. The thing is, she looks more like a G1-styled Mirage than the usual Chromia head design. And again, having watched TFOne twice, I was looking in crowdshots for any familiar faces and this one miner who showed up during Orion Pax's speech towards the end of the film always stuck out to me. This 'Not-Chromia' had a more familiar look to her than Chromia did and she reminded me of Moonracer, specifically the one from the Netflix Transformers series who was a green-ish repaint of Chromia's model.

My pictures of TFOne are dulled out because of the camera quality- I promise they're brighter and easier to see than what I have here So what am I getting at? I think that Mirage was originally planned to be in this movie but was swapped out for Chromia after production had already started. Why is this important enough to write a whole post about it? Because I think it's just neat but also I noticed that IGN's review of TFOne complained about a lack of female representation. Maybe Mirage was changed to Chromia so that TFOne has more girl characters? Maybe I'm overlooking things because IGN's take made me really mad but TFOne has been an absolute treat to bite into and I hope more people also write essays and stuff like this.

i've recently rewatched villainous and god i love the attention to detail in all the crowdshots or even just in the background and during here and there moments. not only does it look really nice, but it shows just how much detail these animators are putting into their show!! i really hope they're getting paid their moneys work because it just adds so much more awesomeness to an already great show hehe :-]

especially miss heed's episode!! there's a very big range of villains, heros and civilians in the crowd and i think its such a cool detail.

one background character i especially like that i think showcases this attention to detail is this person!!they only appear in like a couple shots but. the fact that they gave them vitiligo spots? that requires a lot of linework!! in animation, when there are color differences like that in a character that are meant to be seamless, those colors are usually made into lineart!! this makes it easier for the animation colorists to go in there and just color that all in.

so for the animators to take the time to line in those vitiligo spots shows how dedicated they are!! this character's only animated in about three total shots, and they're rather simple animations, but still!! really good really awesome thank you villainous animators!!

why is so much stuff in the Jessica Cruz tag rwby?

There is a longish answer to your question. The tl;dr is that the RWBY fandom generates content like Stephen King on coke and Jessica Cruz was a main character in a DC/RWBY crossover.

I can and will ramble in-depth about it though.

I'll preface this by saying that I have and will never watch even a second of RWBY. Aside from the fact that I think it looks plain bad, the most annoying person I know kept trying to force it into every conversation so I wont watch it out of principle. So what I know is from lurking too much on the internet.

The sad fact is that Jessica hasn't appeared much in comics lately. After Green Lanterns and JLO ended she kind of disappeared from the radar and, as most Lanterns not named Hal or John do, only really showed up for crowdshots and the occasional cameo. They teased a story in which she would go undercover in the Sinestro Corps, but they dropped that story completely. She has a bit part in the current Green Lantern run (Going undercover ironically) and starred in a GL back-up explaining how, where and why she is undercover. Sure, she was the main character in a DCAU movie, but it wasn't a controversial one so nobody cares about it. Also that was like 5 years ago what the fuck? And she's a main character in SHG, but personality wise she isn't even close to canon!Jess so I'm not really counting that.

Now for RWBY. They had a cross-over deal with DC comics. (Not rare at all since DC like to do that stuff. Godzilla and Star Trek to name two) If I remember it correctly it was like 2 movies and a few comic miniseries. I havent read/watched them because... Well it's RWBY. I'd rather read literally anything else.

Now Jessica was a main character in one of the RWBY/Justice League crossover movies. The reason I personally believe her to be the chosen Green Lantern for that movie is the same reason I like her. A character whose powers stem from her willpower who also suffers from anxiety is an inherently interesting concept. Said concept has market appeal because it's an interesting take on the superhero ideal. (The other reason that they picked her is because you can turn her into a cute animegirl because RWBY is like anime but worse.) Her design was very much animified and she looks like a 12 year old but I digress.

Here's the rub; RWBY's fandom is like insanely active. Art, fanfic you name it. It's made up by a few groups as most fandoms are, but we're going to focus on one particular group; Shippers.

They are the ones making like 90% the RWBY content. They create a fuckload of fanfiction and art. They go to war with each other, etc. Now what is important to note is that, according to my browsing habits, 50% of those shippers tend to ship a guy named Jaune Arc with every female that has existed ever. I'm talking harem/smut/ship/AU fics up the wazoo. Anyone he has ever shared a scene with (or hasn't lol) has ended up sleeping with him in a position or two according to Ao3.

If I got it right, Jaune and Jessica had a budding friendship in that movie. But since Jaune 'self-insert' Arc gets shipped with about anyone who has a cup-size, this has snowballed into there being a myriad of Jaune x Jessica content.

So as a result of DC not utilizing Jessica combined with the RWBY fandom being an unstoppable content machine her tags are now cluttered with RWBY.

I have the hardest time telling Dosie and Ireh apart (I love Na Goeun and Yuki, but I'm not a PURPLE KISS stan). My gut tells me this is Dosie with Swan, but I'm not 100%.

I don’t disagree with the take that it’s shown as a high school interest she grows out of, I guess, and no this episode isn’t feminist. They ARE making fun of feminism in these scenes. But to say it’s the “moral of the episode?” No, not at all.

And pre-emptively, no, I don’t think the Simpsons has good feminist messages and that’s not the point I’m trying to make.

K so this is the one where you find out how Marge and Homer meet and get together.

There’s like two scenes about Marge getting into feminism/“women’s lib” as they would have called it at the time.

There’s this, where her friend gives her a feminist magazine:

Yeah, I’m not going to argue that this magazine cover isn’t making fun of feminism.

Anyway.

A little later, we get to the scene with the bra-burning:

Right after this the principal comes up and Marge gets in trouble, and gets sent to detention. That’s pretty much it. There’s some crowdshots I didn’t put into gifs, but yeah, that’s Marge’s journey with feminism. It literally does not come up again.

Here’s what this episode is actually about.

It’s Homer and Marge’s senior year, and they’ve never met or interacted. Homer’s a bit if a burn-out, while Marge is a good student; good grades, extra-curriculars, stuff like that.

Homer gets detention for smoking in the bathroom, and Marge gets it for the bra burning.

(THAT’S the purpose of the bra-burning scene btw. It’s to get Homer and Marge in the same room.)

Homer’s instantly attracted to her, and when he finds out she tutors French, he lies and says he needs help so they can get to know each other. They spend the evening/night together then he asks her to prom, and when she tells him how important honesty is to her, he reveals it was a trick to get to know her. She’s obviously pissed because she has “a forensics meet” the next day that she needed to prepare and rest up for. She’s furious, and she ends up going to prom with Artie Ziff instead, who later on he tries to assault her in the car. She regrets not going with Homer, goes out to find him, and the rest is history.

What I think this episode is actually about is how Marge constantly sacrifices her own wants and needs.

She takes the fall for something her friend got her into. (Unless I’m mistaken, the red haired girl doesn’t get detention.)

Or maybe let’s talk about how Marge didn’t tell Homer “No” because of her forensics meet. Of course she’s mad because he tricked her, but she’d have been just as tired the next day had he really needed French tutoring. But no - she puts his “needs” before hers. The lie is important, but again she still would have been exhausted the next day if he really had needed help. Whatever she read in the magazine, it didn’t stick or she wasn’t interested.

(Plus like… do you not know women who get really into things as teens and drop them as adults? This isn’t something The Simpsons or any other media made-up. This is something teenagers do and activism of any kind is a common thing to do it with. And some of you need to learn the difference between what happens in a story and what authors think should happen to everybody.)

Wanted to add my own thoughts plus a photo, so Ditto attemping to turn into people isn't that uncommon, they just tend to not be very good at it, often including traits or features from humanoid pokemon, last I heard there's a lab in Johto currently studying this. Anyway I wanted to share my favorite photo of a ditto doing this. I know this photo made the rounds again pretty recently so you might have seen it.

If you dont see it, third row from the bottom, fourth person from the left. This is a crowdshot from the oh so famous battle between Agatha and a challenger using a poison type team, the famous one being his Nidorino. Anyway this ditto sitting in on this battle was noticed a while back and people have also spotted them in several other events at the same stadium. Anyway sorry for the ramble.

My Ditto keeps trying to turn into people. Any tips? It's really uncanny...
