switcheroo! :O
Augustus 'Gus' Porter
Craft Type: Paper (Creative Craft)
Gus Porter is a student in one of the many Houses of Change in Jouvente, which is a little strange because he's still a kid. But that doesn't change a House's willingness to teach someone if they want to learn. Perhaps this made him a little strange. This particular House focuses heavily in experimental Craft, resulting in him having a very different Crafting experience than the average person. Likewise, due to growing up associated with such a House from such an early age, Gus is a very skilled Crafter, using a variation of Creative Craft to create illusions. In this, he's particularly skilled and considered somewhat of a genius. However, his skill is limited by him being somewhat sheltered from the outside world. The result of him spending so much like in the House is an assumption that people have a lot more Craft knowledge than they actually do, assuming things are common sense when they are not.
Craft:
Copy Paste: Support (Paper) type. Creates a copy. On the next turn there is a 50% chance that the copy will take damage instead of Gus. Once the copy takes damage, it is destroyed.
Paper Jam: Paper type. Light paper damage to one enemy and significantly decrease their speed.
Bold Statement: Support type. Increases all allies attack for the next two turns.

@crowdplayer said: 🎶 ─ go christmas caroling (or he'll just carol at ambrose) | meme
He’s a little surprised seeing carolers around this early in December but it does bring a smile to his face that it’s still a tradition for some people at least. Granted, he wasn’t really prepared to greet someone at the door, making him seem a little disheveled on answering it.
It isn’t like he’s upset about it though— very much the opposite.
Still… he’s not sure how to thank the young man, smile turning a little awkward as the first song comes to an end.
“Thank you, um…” Pausing momentarily, as if thinking, he continues with, “I don’t have much to offer, but I want to give you something for… for making my day a little better. How about some Christmas cookies?”
#crowdplayer#ic;#meme answers;#it seemed cute so i went with the latter idea#altho not sure how gus’s singing voice is#it makes ambrose happy tho

Does Lilith ever regret joining the Emperor's Coven? If she went back in time (again), would she be tempted to choose differently in that regard?
There are regrets upon regrets in her. She considers cursing Eda to be the worst mistake of her life, but she only made that mistake to get into the Emperor's Coven... further still, she only did it because she was raised and taught to believe, and believed with all of her heart, that being in the Emperor's Coven was the pinnacle of achievement and only worthwhile thing she could do with her life. So what does it mean if her motivation, her rationale, her reason for living, was also a mistake? Does it even count as a mistake anymore? Is it her regret to have, if her decisions were manipulated from the very beginning?
... Yes, if she could go back, she would choose differently. With the knowledge she has now, there is no way she'd want to be any part of Belos' plans. But she can't make a different choice. The rules of time travel she's experienced make it explicitly impossible to change the past, and that might be a blessing in disguise: if she was allowed to go back and revise every moment of her life until it was perfect, she would never move forward again.

💥 + weapons (sorry, this kid's got magic as self-defense)
[ x. ]
"Listen, kid, I'm not out here shootin' folks for fun," Vash huffs.
"I'm a pacifist. Hurtin' folks is the last thing I wanna do." Which he knows is a bit of a difficult sell, what with the .45 strapped to his thigh, but it is the truth. "Just 'cause I had ta' carry this thing around in the first place don't mean I'm out here usin' it all willy-nilly!"

✂️!!!
FUNNYJOKESPUNS!!
You're no stranger to rummaging around libraries. Whether they be public or secret, full of books you can read or can't, you are... well, you're not nosy, but they're good places to look, right? Something like that.
In any case, you are indeed looking... for... something. You're not really sure what. You'll know it when you see it, you guess. What you do not notice, however, is the haphazard way in which you scrounge around. Putting books back rather precariously, noting certain spines for later inspection when you're not so specifically searching.
This all, of course, leads to a fitting outcome, given your blatant disregard for safety.
A book falls and bonks you right on the head. Ow. You place a hand on the now sore spot, and adjust your pointy hat. But you do not lament!! Fortunately, this event has knocked quite the joke to the forefront of your mind now. Standing upright, you flash a devious smirk and confess.........
"Ah... I only have myshelf to blame..."

‘I believe the kids say, you ‘pogged’ it’
Do they say that? Uzi's so behind on teenage slang that she's still not sure what rizz means, and skibidi is just right out. But she has to match the energy, or else she'll be a laughingstock at school again- is there even a school in this place? She hasn't thought of that yet. If she's finally free from the shackles of- She's getting off track here, back to the slang.
"Chat, is... is that real?" she says, with only a smidge of uncertainty.
The other boy looks at her- judgmentally? Then he nods, and speaks again. "That's so ohio."
She's in. "Fanum tax."
"Gyatt."
"Real alpha."
"Chad W!"
"Very sus!"
"Sigma!"
Uzi stands proudly, having communicated in a way that is, presumably, completely intelligible to the other boy. There may not be any classrooms here, but she's achieved a passing grade in conversation, which is a very normal thing to think.
The other boy leans in; he's a little taller than her, but not by much, and Uzi has to crane her head back to meet him. "Alright, you gotta tell me... What does any of that mean?"
The only sound in the air is the gentle hum of Uzi's processor as it tries to light itself on fire. "I... I don't know! I thought you did!"
"No! But you were saying it all so confidently that I figured you must have! I thought you were one of those... what are they called, computers. A repository for human knowledge!" His eyes sparkle as he speaks. "I've got so many questions!"
"Bite me, not a computer! And they're all dead!" snaps Uzi. "At least, they are where I come from. All of them died. I'd never met a human before coming here. A live one, I mean."
The sparkles fade. "Oh. Really?"
"Yeah."
There's no sound in the air now. Uzi feels... not guilty, but maybe awkward? She should at least try to salvage things, but she only knows one or two things about humans. "Do you... know about anime? Humans invented it, I think."
"Yeah, Luz told me about that. Why?"
"I have a couple terabytes saved on my computer- Not me, like, my computer at home. If you want, I could show you-"
And the sparkles are back. "Really? From context I assume that's a lot! I'd love to!"
He's a little too close, and Uzi steps back. "I-I mean, it's no big deal, I just do a lot of pirating-"
"And you're a pirate? This is just getting better and better!"
"Uh, sure. We'll find something to watch; humans may have messed up a lot, but they did make some good anime." The energy is more upbeat now, and Uzi's glad she hasn't killed anything but vibes in this city. "Lucky for you, you have an expert to guide you. Now, how much time do you have? Have you ever heard of Naruto?"

𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒.: No Longer Accepting!
"Really? It's something I kind of threw together during my time in Spain." It was a rather unique style that drew looks, but that's what made it great in her mind.

𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙙! [POUR] + [reverse]: receiver pours the sender a hot drink after finding shelter from a freezing snow-storm. — by @crowdplayer
it's lucky for augustus, then, that break has a habit of taking walks during snowfall. he'd been out long enough for the falling flakes to turn into a whipping wind rather than a flying feather. and while break lacks the sight to be able to spot a small child running around aimlessly during a snowstorm, mad hatter alerted him about the intrusion of a stranger on the grounds of the rainsworth manor.
not quite a stranger, break thinks, a correction for his chain and a repetition for himself. not like he minds either way, when he ushers augustus inside and notices that the boy clearly lacks any type of proper winter clothing. youths these days ...
in a matter of absolutely no time at all, xerxes break has augustus sit down in the kitchen of the mansion, pushes his chair towards the round table and gets to preparing a new pot of tea for him.
he's not sure if it's teatime, or what time it is at all. zhilan isn't home yet, so it can't quite be evening. still, a tea is required. additionally, he'd dropped one of his morning coats on the boy's shoulders. it's white and fluffy inside and already too large for the size of break, frail as he is, so it more or less drowns augustus in warmth. as the water boils, break leans against the side of the counter to glance at him. his expression shows amused interest, though there's a layer of genuineness to it that he doesn't try to hide, as he continues their conversation from where it was left off.
' do they not have snow, where you're from? ' before augustus has a chance to answer, break adds a quick amendment: ' oh, the coat has a button on the collar. with a little string to hook onto it ... yes, there. pull that closed for me, if you will. '
he'll offer him entirely new clothes later. oz's wardrobe should fit, right? nevermind the fact that oz is around fifteen, if you ignore everything else that's wrong with the rabbit. he can plunder his room later, doubtful that the boy would have any complaints, considering the circumstances.
for now, he needs to warm up.
speaking of!
with the tea done, break arranges everything on a little silver plate and walks over. putting a little porcelain cup in front of augustus, break pours enough tea into it to fill it to the brim.
' don't burn your hands. it's hot. apologies for interrupting. ' after pouring his own cup, break sits down across from augustus, crossing one leg over the other. the cold doesn't seem to have done much to dampen his spirits. there is a small moment that he takes for himself, wrapping a hand around the heat of the porcelain, relishing in the sensation of it against his chilly skin. disregarding that same moment almost immediately, break returns his attention to the boy.
' now. no snow? or storms, even? '

「𓆄」 "Hey, heeey, none taken." Hawks was already moving back inside after offering temporary respite in his townhouse from the rainstorm. "It's not like you meant itttt! It'll just bruise, I prommy." He now called back as Gus ushered himself inside. A feather was at the wait to shut the door behind him.
"You said your name was Gus?" He revealed himself from around the corner with a towel in tow as well as a blanket. Unceremoniously, he placed the towel ontop of Gus's head, letting it drape over him. "Can I get you something, Gus? Coffee, water, maybe a snack? I'm a well stocked individual, you name it, I've got it."
"Where were you headed in this rain? I'd also hope you were planning on returning that umbrella you almost ran off with, by the way. My girlfriend left it, and I 'unno how I would've explained that one to her." As the pro-hero slinked back into the kitchen, he tented his hands together and leaned forward, looking more amused at the situation than anything. "I don't think she'd believe me if I told her it grew wings and flew off. But, what do you think?"
Hearing a groan from behind his newly acquired umbrella, Gus slowly lowered the item with wide eyes. Uh oh, he thought, processing the stranger's outfit as definitive cool guy duds.
"Oh no—I'm so sorry—" he cried out in shame, one hand leaving the umbrella handle to smack his face instead. "I didn't see you, I swear! I don't generally hit people in the face... Er, did it hurt? Please tell me I didn't break anything."
"Huh?" With his head cocked to the side, Gus glanced between the townhouse and the street behind him. It was a generous offer and he didn't think stranger danger warnings included people who gave him cool nicknames. "That's be awesome, actually! And my name's Gus, though umbrella kid works for me."

[ 🌱 ] It had only been a few hours since the young witch appeared in Spirale-- it only made sense that she discovered where her dwelling was. Housing 121 was what she had been told; now where in the world was that?
Willow paused for a moment, looking around carefully before adjusting her glasses slightly-- she was completely and utterly lost. Unfortunately, all she was equipped with was a plain wooden staff, nothing special like a palisman, so she couldn't fly and find out where she was supposed to be staying.
She was unconsciously walking, steps falling in to place without her eyes casting around her. It was only a matter of time before -- oof!
"Oh my gosh I'm SO sorry, I should have been looking where I was--"
When Willow finally looked up, she adjusted her glasses in order to get a better look at the poor person she collided with.
"Gus! Oh Gus, I'm so happy to see a familiar face!"
Without a second thought, she pulled the young boy into a tight hug before releasing him with a big grin.

hc + 📔 & 🤥
hc + 📔 for a reading-themed headcanon
When she's seen reading in public, it's mostly to research, with a huge pile of library books or taking elaborate notes in the corner of a cafe. But she does also read for entertainment, and she's fond of historical romance drama stuff. If asked whether the books are good, she would usually say no, but she is interested enough to keep reading anyway.
hc + 🤥 for a lie-themed headcanon
She's not a good liar, but she's still a better liar than she thinks she is. Any time she bends the truth, she's just waiting to be called out on it. Somehow, she kept a secret for most of her life, even though she felt like it was stuck in her throat the whole time. She sees herself as an unforgivable traitor, an imposter in any role she tries to take. She tries so hard at everything, all the time. She thinks that if she was really meant to succeed, she wouldn't have to try. She knows that's not true, but she still tells it to herself.

The moment the book is grabbed, the tendrils dissipate, leaving not a remnant of it behind. He's a strange one, but almost everyone here is relatively strange, aren't they? "It was the first thing I looked into myself when I first arrived." Herbs, plants, wildlife. She looked into it all. She might know just about everything in each ward and their branches when it comes to these things. The extensive knowledge only grew larger when she went around asking questions.
"My name is Dam-bi." her head dips into a respectful bow upon her own introduction.
"There are more books than the one you're interested in." She says this pulls out a few more books from their respective homes and sets them on the nearby table beside them. "Like these."
Sure, Gus had a lifetime of experience witnessing magic, but his months spent in the human world had skewed his perception over just how common it might be here. More impressive still, the girl's magic didn't require a spell, rather it seemed the tendrils instinctually followed her instructions.
Oh no—what if he'd insulted her by insinuating the shadowy limbs were abnormal?
"Oops—" He rushed to grab the tome at her prompting, a sheepish smile on his face as penance for gawking at his bibliothecarial saviour. A quick gasp at her offer, he replied, "Wait, really? That would be awesome!"
Tucking the book under one arm, he extended his free hand to her. "I'm Gus, by the way."
