Dys makes a scrunched up face at the smell of it assaulting his senses. This has to be some kind of weird dream or something, or-- maybe he had a bad batch of blep tea, because this sure as hell can't be right.

Otherwise, what kind of place did he stumble on and where are the rest of his expedition team's members? It'd be worth mapping out something new but without any of the usual equipment he's pretty much only got his skills to help him figure it out.

If only he wasn't lost in these caverns where the sickeningly sweet smell clouds his senses, but he still keeps a keen ear and eye open to avoid anything that sounds like it's just going to be trouble for him in hopes of navigating the way back out again.

Lestat, whom she roused from sleep as a newborn vampire, is now awake and well. As she glides easily over her own arrangement of the Swan Lake suite for the piano, she can feel his presence radiating warmth and joy. She would hate being the darling piano player for a crowd of humans ever again, but when it's the immortals -- when it's just Lestat, or anyone dear to her, she is safe and happy to share her music. They can see her soul in it. The human crowds never could.

This makes Lestat the actor, the rockstar, quite the enigma, for her who hates to be watched but not seen. She loves him, she's loved him ever since he sat at the foot of her piano swaying gently with her Appassionata on that fateful night -- they didn't speak but she felt a kinship immediately. She's grown quiet as the music died, pondering on all the little things she wants to understand better about him. Due to her skittish nature, she hasn't talked to him much yet. From her point of view, hearing her music was enough for Lestat to know her to her core by now.

"Before I do," she started softly, yet punctuating her speaking with a few light notes, "I mean to ask... How-- why do you love it ? Standing in the spotlight. The crowds of mortal fans. I never felt like they saw me."

Going in with the deep questions after months not speaking more than a word or two. It was a pattern of hers, suddenly speaking once she'd observed one for long enough and felt safe to do so.

Flint's eyes and smile only brightened from Artemis's crafty response. Sure, if Flint was more in-tuned with typical societal standards of not touching people unless you know them or asked them, this would be way awkward. And while she had a decent idea of human customs now, usually whatever emotion she was feeling at the moment quickly overpowered those teachings. Flint fished a well-worn notebook out of her pocket and scribbles something down, offering some clarity as she holds it out to Artemis with a smile, Fangs hanging right by her, still unsure of this new person. The note read:
