"Dang. RIP to that guy, I guess." This felt like those old mystery cartoons with the dog, where they chased the monster through a hallway of doors.

"Yup, that's how they do it here. Get used to it, bucko." She reaches to pat his shoulder twice.

｢𓆄｣ "Haha, wow! They really expect us to go back to daily living after throwing us through literal hell? Yeah, no, makes total sense! I don't get why you'd do it any other way." Everybody's so creative!

Luz glowed almost as much as her light spell, pride emanating from her grin as Oliver watched her orbs of light in awe.

"Go ahead! They won't hurt you like this. But if you poke 'em, they bounce away. If you really wanna get a good look at 'em..."

She stood and cupped her hands around one of the balls of light, bringing it close with a fond smile.

"You gotta catch 'em, like a lightning bug."

"READY!" He's more ready than he can ever be, actually. He's on his knees and he's right next to Luz. His eyes are GLUED to the papers laid out in front of her. She looked like one of those wizards he'd heard about in the fairy tale books. The ones that can cast out spells through these magical books. Instead of books, she has pages (papers) to summon magic.

orbs of light come right out from these papers and they float and as they do, Oliver is back on his feet, amazed.

"Whoa...." he breathes out in awe, "Can--If I touch it, will it hurt me?" He's already prepping his finger up to poke the orb light.

"Yeah, I know, right?!" Luz enthusiastically bounced on the balls of her feet with a grin. "Here, lemme show you! This one's my fave, actually."

She knelt on the ground and pulled a handful of light glyphs out, laying them flat beside each other in front of her. She glanced up at her audience. "Ready?"

Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap! Down the line, Luz slapped her hands on each paper, one after the other, until each one had crumpled into itself and transformed into an orb of light. By the end, about ten orbs had floated into the air, hovering at about eye-level. "Ta-daaa!"

"So you just draw on a paper and then poof WHOOSH, OOOOOooo~ there's magic!?" What kind of sound effects were those? "That's like the coolest thing I've ever heard." Magic didn't exist in his world. Or at least that's what his teammates would tell him, but he didn't believe them.

"Can you show me? I WANNA SEE! O-OH and can I take a pic too?"

REASONS TO CUP A FACE. ( A PROMPT LIST. )

with the help of some very talented and amazing friends, i present to you an unexpected, very spontaneous meme list based on the beautiful art of cupping someone's face! there's a mix of romantic and platonic here, and even a few that defy the boundaries of normal relationship dynamics! i hope you enjoy! as always; DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST NOR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN!

[KISS]: sender cups the receivers face in their hands before drawing them closer for a kiss.

[CHECK]: after an unexpectedly violent situation, sender frantically rushes to check if the receiver is okay, cupping their face to look closer.

[LIFT]: sender gently cups the receiver's face and lifts their chin so the receiver is looking up at them.

[ATTENTION]: during an important conversation, the sender takes the receiver's face in their hands and firmly directs their focus on them.

[PRIDE]: after the receiver succeeds in a remarkable achievement, the sender cups their face and tilts their foreheads together to express how proud they are of them.

[WOUND]: after the receiver has been wounded, the sender tries to keep them calm and conscious by cupping their face in their hands and talking to them to keep them focused.

[INJURY]: after having been badly wounded themselves, the sender tries to reassure the frantic receiver by cupping their face and comforting them.

Luz climbs up onto a short brick wall--only about 3 feet high--and after making sure no one's around to panic-stop her, she allows herself to fall back, slapping her glyph on her stomach as she does.

She hovers for a moment just above the ground before she drops the last few inches.

"Phew! Glad that worked!"

"Lloyyyyd, I'm so bored! And nothing's tickling my brain right!!" She kicked her feet a few times to express her frustration, her shoes tapping against the floor.

"Help me come up with something to do, man, please?"

Well, that was certainly a noise. Lloyd was just in the other room when Luz started groaning, but instead of asking her right away what was wrong when he got closer..

He just laid down on the ground next to her, staring up at the ceiling.

"Whatcha doin'?"

She almost releases another groan, both for spite and in response to the idea of cleaning, but then she perks up, like the little weirdo she is.

"Whoa, really, there's dead stuff in there? Do you think there's bones in your kiln? What do you think they're from?!"

"Girl, if you keep making that sound, I'm going to give you something to do." She managed to pull his focus from whatever paperwork he was sorting for the forge, "How does cleaning the kiln sound? I'm sure there's nothing dead in there."

"Ughhhhhhh...." She released a drawn-out, dramatic groan while lying on her back on the floor of the Forge's lounge area.

"Ughhhhhh!!!!!!" She's just bored. That's all.
